42:11🔗 Drew Well, it's being evaluated. There are many doctors that think it is safe. I have a certain amount of discomfort with it, but mostly it just doesn't make rational sense to me that you can have sort of it. The whole issue with uterine problems is unopposed estrogens. All of these birth control pills have progesterone, so you shouldn't have that problem. However, so much of what we do in terms of supplementing hormones, we still sort of allow for some sloughing of the uterine lining in those people that are still cycling. It's probably going to be fine. Certainly if you need to not have a period of time because of a wedding or a trip or something, it's a very reasonable thing to do.

42:52🔗 Adam Let me get this straight, Drew. The birth control packet, does it have the same amount for every month?

42:59🔗 Drew It's either 21 or 28 day. Yes, it has the same amount otherwise. Twenty-eight days, seven of the days are sugar pills.

The whole time going, this stuff is so great. It's such a luxury day, this stuff is really great medicine and I don't want to stop it. I know that feeling.

1:23:17🔗 Drew That's my opinion. You may find out people do other ways, but I've tried a million times doing it as an outpatient. It never works, especially with pain, because you will be totally focused on that pain, and that pain is not going away until you've been completely off drugs for a couple of months.

1:23:31🔗 Caller Well, the problem is the medical facility that I go to is a hospital, and it's like they pass me from one person to another.

1:23:37🔗 Drew You need to be in a chemical dependency unit.

1:23:39🔗 Caller And do you have to pay for that, or is there, do you know if there's any kind of, you know, public, like, thing where they help you out for free?

1:23:46🔗 Adam Yeah, it's called a drunk tank.

1:23:48🔗 Drew Yeah.

1:23:50🔗 Adam Laurieann, what nerve did you pinch when you fell?

1:23:54🔗 Caller They said that there was a, oh gosh, a slipped disc, a slipped disc that pinched my carotid nerve, I believe it was, something like that. And that's why I started taking them. And now I'm in pain management and they're still giving me the Vicodin and they're not like cutting me back and I'm trying to cut back on my own.

1:24:16🔗 Drew Do you have a family history of alcoholism?

1:24:18🔗 Caller No, not at all. My family has, not to my knowledge, they have never been.

1:24:23🔗 Adam Are you able to work?

1:24:25🔗 Caller Yes, I can work totally fine. I mean, when I take it, I'm fine. I mean, it helps my pain, but, you know, I can take it and function.

1:24:35🔗 Drew You're not adopted?

1:24:36🔗 Caller No.

1:24:37🔗 Drew And you know your grandparents?

1:24:38🔗 Caller Yes. They were no alcoholics or drug addicts at all.

1:24:43🔗 Drew Not at all.

1:24:44🔗 Adam Well, okay, but look at it this way. They keep giving her Vicodin.

1:24:47🔗 Drew Well, that may be, but maybe she needs it.

1:24:49🔗 Adam And she's not going nuts with it.

1:24:50🔗 Drew Yeah, I would say there's, there's, there's, some people need it for pain management.

1:24:53🔗 Caller Okay, but for, I mean, this is like three years now.

1:24:56🔗 Drew Yeah, well, if you have chronic, true chronic pain, I just don't believe most, all the chronic pain I deal with is about addiction. Is your, your spinal, the mechanisms in the spinal column and your brain reward systems become linked up such that your brain learns that if it has pain, you'll get a reward. And that pain cycle, that pain mechanism doesn't stop until you've been off opiates for a long time.

1:25:18🔗 Adam All right, but she's three years into this, she's taken eight a day, which is well short of your 30 prediction. And she's working.

1:25:27🔗 Drew And there's no family history of alcoholism. No family history of addiction really throws this all into question.

1:25:32🔗 Adam She's not spinning out of control and she's wanting to stop at eight.

1:25:37🔗 Drew Yeah.

1:25:38🔗 Adam So...

1:25:39🔗 Drew It might not be addiction. I might be wrong.

1:25:42🔗 Adam Maybe she needs to just tell this story to the doctor. True.

1:25:46🔗 Drew We should have an evaluation by addiction people though.

1:25:49🔗 Adam I've heard more Vicodin related stories in the last couple of years.

1:25:56🔗 Adam I had Vicodin for a while then, didn't do anything. You didn't get a buzz off that at all.

1:26:03🔗 Adam You always say that, but I took a couple, I washed it down with some booze. Nothing. I mean, you know, a little something. Nothing, really.

1:26:14🔗 Adam It's not my gig. I was so excited, too, to get hold of that Vicodin. I hear people talking about it and getting hooked on it. I was thinking, this is going to be great. Dan?

1:26:27🔗 Caller Yes. What's up? A couple of months ago, I started noticing that if I would go for a week without having an ejaculation, that there would be some thickness in it that was off-colored. Stay into it. And the emotional side is just going, I don't know, I ain't into it. And the logic side's going, stay into it. But they can't beat the emotional side.
