Adam Corolla and Dr. Drew Loveline, Coast to Coast.
1:15
Adam
Yep, it is the Loveline. I'm Adam Corolla. That allegedly is Dr. Drew over there in St. Louis. Phone number, 1-800-L-O-V-E-1-9-1, fax number 310-8-5-4.
1:26
No.
1:27
Adam
No. 840-40-5-1. Even with the time difference, you know that's not the fax number, don't you, Drew?
1:33
Drew
Absolutely not. That's correct.
1:35
Adam
Dr. Drew is a board certified physician and addiction medicine specialist. And tonight, he's been kind enough to take time out of his busy pimping schedule and join us here on his own show, Loveline.
1:46
Drew
Somebody cares about his affiliates, goes around and checks things out, develop relationships with people in these various towns.
1:52
That's good, buddy.
1:54
Woo, that's a good one.
1:56
Adam
That is good. That's funny.
1:57
I got to get a scratch back here right there.
1:59
Adam
Develop, what did you call it, affiliate relations?
2:02
Drew
That's it.
2:03
Adam
Yeah. I know when I retell that joke tomorrow, it's not going to be as funny. I got to write this down. I said, seriously, what are you doing in St. Louis?
2:12
Drew
Speaking at Washington University.
2:14
Adam
I see. I see. All right, buddy. How did it go over there?
2:18
Drew
Excellent. And I'm here at the Union Station, just outside of that St. Louis.
2:22
Adam
How's the facilities over there?
2:24
Drew
Adam, I'm at 97.1 here, there's a new talk station. These facilities are spectacular.
2:30
Adam
Yeah.
2:30
Drew
I mean, it's embarrassing. How nice they are.
2:33
Adam
Yeah. It's funny, you know, LA is the second biggest market, but we really have a crappy studio here.
2:38
Drew
Listen, I just had this discussion with people here about not only radio, but also video satellite tours. You go to Nashville and it's just state of the art. Los Angeles?
2:49
Adam
Yeah. This place, it really, this whole building needs what you call like a mercy killing.
2:55
Drew
Yeah.
2:55
Adam
It's like a cancer patient that's been on an iron lung for too long. Someone's got to pull the plug on this Westwood 2 building over here and just demolish it. We'll work out of a trailer for a few months while they build the new facility. The new trailer will be nicer than this.
3:10
Drew
Radio Hospice.
3:11
Adam
That's right. That's what Westwood 2 needs over here. All right. Allegedly, we have a couple of girls from Gross Point coming in tonight, although I have not seen them in here yet. So they should show up. Also, Drew, you'll be glad to know that three of my biggest fans, and I would make the fourth actually, three have showed up tonight. The girls who wrote my name on their sneakers. I mean, they're really...
3:39
Drew
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I remember that.
3:41
Adam
Yeah, you remember, you know, you ever see that footage of like, you know, Donny Osmond in the 70s or maybe Leif Garrett or one of these teen idols? It's like that, except for I just have three. I have a crowd of three women. They're like, they're crying, they're trembling. You'll be laughing your ass off. Anne was into it for about the first 10 seconds, and now she's had an ass full. It's out of control. It's out of mania over here, Drew.
4:10
Drew
You know, I might call an ambulance. I'm disturbed.
4:14
Adam
Yeah, we should really get child protective services involved here. None of you girls should go home to your homes. There has to be something wrong on the home front.
4:22
Oh yeah.
4:23
Adam
Probably wholesale abuse, probably drug abuse, heroin abuse.
4:27
It's effective.
4:28
Adam
They're shaking their heads. They're saying they're good. They're saying they're fine. All right. You know, I like people to like me, but then I get nervous. I don't trust them. Wow. They're beautiful young girls and I have my names on their on their sneakers. So they're good by me.
4:44
Drew
It's nerve-racking because sort of like how could they?
4:47
Adam
Yeah. Yeah. That's what I'm thinking. Thanks. Thanks for solidifying that thought though there, Drew. All right. So we're not going to talk about gross point yet because the girls aren't in here yet. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the man show tonight with the big corn episode. This is where we joined the band corn. This is a fantastic episode. I actually saw it on satellite earlier today. Fantastic drill.
5:11
Drew
Must have been moving.
5:12
Adam
Well, it's called gripping.
5:13
Drew
All right.
5:14
Adam
Must see. So where are we going here? Drew, you got control of the board over there?
5:17
Drew
I got control. Jim's up.
5:18
Adam
Jim, you're 27. What's up?
5:22
Caller
Hey, what's going on?
5:23
Drew
Oh, this is nice.
5:24
Yeah. Are you there?
5:25
Yes, we are.
5:26
Caller
Okay. Here's the deal. My wife is pregnant or we have three kids together and with our third kid, she had her tubes tied and she got pregnant again.
5:39
Drew
Oh boy.
5:40
Caller
It was a tubal. So when we had that one aborted, we had another tubal ligation done and now she's showing the symptoms that she's pregnant again. I'm wondering, is there anything like an infection or anything like that that could be a symptom of or make it seem to us that she's pregnant again?
5:58
Drew
What are the symptoms she's having?
6:00
Caller
She's starting to swell. She hasn't had her period.
6:07
Adam
What the hell kind of sperm are you pumping there, Jim? My God, you're going right through a cauterized piece of scar tissue. And rubber bands. And Drew, is this what happens if you have your tubes tied and you get pregnant? Is it always a tubal pregnancy at that point?
6:25
Drew
Not always, but you're at higher risk for that kind of thing. And now, again, definitely she's got to get checked out, Jim, definitely, right?
6:31
Caller
Okay, so do I just need to have mine pulled out completely?
6:34
Drew
Well, it sounds like, yeah, there should be a double whammy here.
6:37
Adam
Yeah.
6:37
Drew
She keeps recantilizing her. Your sperm is from hell and it just leaps frogs across the divide there.
6:43
Adam
Yeah, your balls should be buried in some well in Nevada. Some old nuclear test site or something. Yeah, that is quite a testament to Jim's manhood, wouldn't you say? Yeah, knock up a chick's head or tubes tied. Mary, or Marie.
7:00
Yeah.
7:00
Adam
You're 15, what's up?
7:02
Caller
Yeah, I like older men like a lot. I have fantasies about them, like having sex. And I've had this in sixth grade.
7:11
Adam
Yeah.
7:12
And...
7:13
Adam
How old?
7:15
Like 30 and above.
7:17
Drew
She's 15.
7:18
Caller
Nice.
7:19
All right.
7:20
Caller
Yeah. I know it's really weird.
7:21
Adam
You ever been with an older guy?
7:23
Yeah. Once, a few months, a couple months ago.
7:27
Adam
How old?
7:27
I went out with him for...
7:28
Caller
He was 30. I went out with him for a month.
7:31
And on New Year's Eve, he broke up.
7:33
Adam
Yeah.
7:34
Drew
He was 30?
7:35
And now I...
7:36
Adam
Did he know how old you were?
7:38
Caller
Well, he thought I was 16.
7:40
Yeah.
7:40
Drew
I understood that you were 16.
7:41
Oh, yeah. Yeah.
7:42
Adam
Well, I know how it is. You break up on New Year's. I've done that many times. Each year, one of my resolutions is, no more statutory rape.
7:52
Drew
Plus, she's getting a little old for him, too.
7:53
Adam
Quit smoking, ease up on the booze and stop raping the teenagers. I say it. Every year, I say that. I never fall through.
8:00
Drew
Did you have sex with the guy?
8:04
Huh?
8:04
Drew
Did you have sex with this guy?
8:06
Adam
With this jerk?
8:06
No. Well...
8:08
Adam
All right.
8:08
Drew
Go ahead. Although, from Adam's point of view, that's even worse.
8:12
Adam
That makes him even more flawed. It's a different kind of flawed, but it's even a deeper flaw, in my opinion.
8:17
Drew
It's not as damaging to Marie. But listen, Marie, just any guy... What you don't understand is that any guy that would date you is disturbed. It's not so much that it's abnormal for you to have fantasies.
8:27
Adam
Well, no. Any old guy. Any old guy.
8:29
Drew
No, that's what I mean. I mean, any guy that she is fantasizing about in his 30s is flawed if he responds to that. To have the fantasies are one thing, but the guys that would respond to that are... When you're 20, you'll look at that and just absolutely cringe. You'll freak out.
8:46
Adam
Where's your dad, Marie?
8:48
Caller
He's at my house.
8:49
Adam
Is he a good guy?
8:50
Caller
Yeah, he's great.
8:52
Adam
Why do you think you have this attraction for older men?
8:55
I honestly don't know.
8:57
Drew
Was he gone a lot when you were little?
8:59
No, he was great.
9:01
Caller
He took me places.
9:02
Yeah.
9:05
Yeah, he's great.
9:06
Adam
Well, listen, you have this fantasy. You haven't had sex with any old guys yet, right?
9:11
Caller
Well, I've kissed him.
9:13
Adam
All right, but all right. So have the fantasy and don't act on it.
9:18
Caller
Okay.
9:19
Oh, don't.
9:20
Adam
I had this fantasy about getting laid when I was in high school. Right. Thank God. I never acted on it.
9:26
Caller
Yes.
9:26
Adam
Go ahead, Marie.
9:27
Caller
My friend, she loved you. Here, can she love you?
9:31
Adam
No, not as much as the three that are here.
9:33
Caller
No, she loved you more than that.
9:36
Adam
How dare you attempt to taint the love of the three fans that have showed up tonight by putting on some floozy who loves me more? I don't believe it for a second.
9:45
Caller
I love Dr. Drew.
9:47
Adam
Well, now I know there's a problem. Listen, I could fill your friend's love of me into a thimble, whereas the love of the three girls that have showed up tonight and could not fill into the Atlantic Ocean would not. The pit that was formerly known as the Atlantic Ocean would not hold their love. Is that right, ladies? Yes, it is.
10:05
Caller
Look at that.
10:06
Adam
This is great.
10:07
Caller
Can she talk to you?
10:08
Adam
Yes, very quickly, though. I don't want to upset the three. Yes.
10:12
Caller
Adam, I love you.
10:14
Adam
I love you, but it's a different kind of love.
10:16
Caller
I have your name all over my shoe, and I have you on my math notebook.
10:20
Drew
That's with the shoe thing.
10:22
Adam
Yeah.
10:22
Drew
That's with the shoe.
10:23
Adam
Well, we have notebooks over here.
10:25
Caller
Yeah, and my friend says you're an Italian pimp. She loves you.
10:28
Adam
That's right. Often mistaken for Jewish because of my sense of humor.
10:32
Caller
Yeah, but we know you're not Jewish, Adam, because we love you.
10:34
Adam
Yeah, there's nothing wrong with the Jews. Don't get them wrong.
10:37
Caller
Yeah, we have a Jewish pimp too.
10:39
Adam
Fine.
10:40
Drew
That's nice.
10:41
Adam
There's Mordecai in the pimp.
10:43
Caller
All right. All right.
10:44
Adam
Thank you there, Lacey. You know, Drew, you know what's funny?
10:47
Drew
Whenever I did... Nothing about what I just heard, but go ahead.
10:49
Adam
No, whenever I... You know, all the years I did construction, no one thought I was Jewish. They always knew I was Italian because what Jew in his right mind would be schlepping under a building, you know what I'm saying? Now that I'm doing comedy, I'm Jewish.
11:03
Drew
Yeah. Well, listen, your construction, Jew doesn't even occur to them, right? That's not even the list of possible...
11:08
Adam
Most of the guys on the site don't know what that is.
11:11
Caller
Yeah.
11:13
Adam
Jew, Jew, let me think. Oh, Jew, Jew. You mean that candy? Jew, Jew B? Jew, Jew something? All right. Where are we here, Drew? Are you going to take another call?
11:22
Drew
My computer just screwed up on me.
11:23
Adam
Oh, all right. Well, then I'll forge ahead here and we'll speak to Stacey, who's 22. Stacey?
11:29
Hi.
11:29
Adam
What's up?
11:30
I have a friend and she's really promiscuous.
11:33
She sleeps around a lot.
11:34
And I want to know how to intervene without, like, preaching to her.
11:38
Drew
Well, I understand. How else are you going to get her attention without talking to her about what she's doing?
11:45
Well, I want to talk to her about it.
11:47
I just don't want to...
11:48
Adam
What's she doing?
11:50
She just sleeps around a lot.
11:51
Adam
How much?
11:53
Like, she goes to the bar and meets a guy.
11:55
And she lives with me, too.
11:57
Drew
Are you jealous?
11:58
No.
11:59
Drew
Alright, here's the deal. Here's the deal. You must get her to understand the reality of what she's doing. Your job is to keep confronting her with the reality. I see it. What you're doing disturbs me because... Don't be a preach. You just tell her that I'm worried about you. Here's what I see happening. Here's how I experience it. And ultimately, if she doesn't change her behaviors, and if you really want to help her change, you're going to have to be willing to leave her. Because people who get involved in compulsive, self-destructive behaviors stay very steep in denial. And the only way you can break through that is by saying, look, I can't stand to see this anymore. If this continues, I'm going to have to leave this relationship. You don't support the problem, but go ahead and support the recovery. So if she starts making change, then say, I'll be happy to be back in your life. But as long as you're going down this slope you're on, I can't participate.
12:47
Adam
And then call her a bitch. Hey, Stacey.
12:50
Drew
But loss is often times the only thing that gets people's attention.
12:54
Adam
Ah, the chicks are having a little fun. Stacey's married, right, Stacey?
12:58
Yeah.
12:58
Adam
What are you living with this girl for if you're married?
13:02
She didn't have a place to go.
13:03
Her mother kicked her out.
13:05
Adam
So she's living with you and your husband?
13:07
Yeah.
13:07
Adam
And, oh, that's always bad times.
13:10
Drew
Well, why'd her mom kick her out?
13:12
They just got in an argument. Her mother has three other kids.
13:17
Drew
It was kind of sexual acting out. It's clearly something going on. I mean, mom may have been abusive or she may be bipolar. She may be an addict, your friend. I mean, who knows what's going on? If you really want to help her, maybe get her some.
13:27
Well, I know her family situation.
13:29
It's not a disaster.
13:30
Yeah. Her parents were divorced and then remarried and they were into coke. And there you go.
13:36
She saw him drinking and doing everything.
13:38
Drew
So yeah, she has the gene herself.
13:40
Adam
Hey, Stacey, see if you can lead her to a little help. All right.
13:43
Okay.
13:44
Adam
All right. See, I sound like a good friend. You're not just a fat, married and jealous, are you?
13:49
No, no, I'm not jealous.
13:53
Adam
Just fat and married. No, okay. I get process of elimination. Stacey, you're a good, you're a good friend. Lead her to some help. She's going to need a little therapy and maybe a little alidon or something like that.
14:04
Drew
No, no, no, 12 step. Sounds like she's really mad at herself.
14:07
She told me she's been through that, but.
14:09
Drew
Yeah, you don't, you don't be through it. That's a lifelong process. That's right. She must be continuing to stay connected with the sponsor.
14:15
Adam
That's right. It's like me with my sobriety. Every day. Every day I have another drink. I went to Kathy Griffin's wedding today.
14:24
Drew
How was it?
14:24
Adam
She's going to be having a drink.
14:26
Drew
Yeah, but it was nice, huh?
14:27
Adam
Yeah, it was good times. A nice gift basket.
14:30
Drew
Did you get on Extra and all that stuff?
14:32
Adam
No, you know me. People magazine was there, I guess, and Extra and some other news organizations like that. And I hid. And Kathy's so funny. It's like I'm at her wedding and she grabbed me and she's going, Did you talk to Extra? No, no, no. Oh, you haven't talked to Extra? I was like, how many weddings you go to where you speak to a news crew? And then what do you say? You know, you always say something stupid. And they're not going to use me anyway.
15:00
Drew
Right.
15:00
Adam
I mean, they had real celebrities there. Right. So, I just hid. Anyway, it was a good time.
15:06
Drew
Good instinct.
15:07
Adam
Yeah, good instinct. Thank you. Kathleen?
15:10
Oh, hi.
15:11
Adam
You're 14. What's up?
15:13
Caller
Well, I want to say that I love the both of you.
15:15
Adam
Thank you.
15:16
Caller
Yeah. I'm really nervous. It's my first time calling.
15:20
Adam
Is my name on your shoes?
15:22
Caller
No.
15:22
Adam
Well, I'm sorry. I don't have time for you.
15:24
Drew
That is such a disappointment for you.
15:26
Adam
I only put her on hole. Yes, I won't talk to her anymore. I'll only talk to people have my name on their shoes.
15:31
Drew
No, she's back.
15:33
Adam
Oh, really? Oh, she is Kathleen. We do. All right.
15:38
I'm sorry.
15:38
Adam
That's all right. Thank you.
15:41
Drew
No, no, please. Don't worry.
15:42
Thank you.
15:42
Drew
Not mine.
15:43
Caller
Okay.
15:45
Go ahead.
15:45
Caller
Okay.
15:47
My problem is, like, I think.
15:49
Caller
Well, I think I don't know. I like lie all the time to my friends about, like, really stupid things, like all the time.
15:57
Drew
Give us an example.
15:58
Caller
Well, like, I'll lie about knowing somebody and having talked to them about something or, like, about things that have happened in my life. You know, like one, like, I don't know, like, oh, well, I can't think of.
16:15
All right.
16:15
Adam
Well, let me jump in because, Drew, we talk to these people quite a bit.
16:19
Yeah, yeah.
16:19
Adam
It's never anything specific. I mean, they never have examples. Well, it's, it's always sort of, it's nickel and dime stuff.
16:26
Drew
Their esteem is so low that they need some way to try to feel better about themselves when they initiate them.
16:31
Adam
It's not even real. It's not even really grandiose lying either.
16:34
Drew
No, no, no.
16:35
Adam
It's just kind of BS lying.
16:37
Drew
It's like exaggeration.
16:39
Adam
Right, Kathleen?
16:40
Caller
Yeah.
16:41
Adam
I mean, you never said you're, you know, part of any Olympic team or.
16:44
Caller
Oh, no. You know, it's about really stupid things.
16:48
Right. Right.
16:49
Adam
Well, so if it's if it's sort of nonsense, why don't you just drop it?
16:54
Caller
Well, I don't know, like, why. Like, I think about it a lot, like why I do this. And I just like I want to know if there's something wrong with me. And I just can't bring myself to stop.
17:04
Adam
Well, what about what about the the control issue? In a way of having control over somebody, if you think about it.
17:11
Drew
Yeah, but it's really an esteem issue. It's I don't feel adequate in the moment. So I just blurt out something that makes me feel slightly better. Also, sometimes people learn this behavior, too. It was your mom or dad real dramatic or exaggerate a lot?
17:26
Caller
Uh, well, what do you mean?
17:28
Drew
I don't know. Is there anything anything about them we should know?
17:30
Adam
Your dad a blowhard? Well, what's your dad do for a living? We'll figure out if he lies.
17:35
Caller
He's an FBI agent.
17:37
Liar.
17:38
Caller
I am not lying.
17:39
Adam
He's a liar.
17:41
Caller
No, he he's really controlling, actually. And he he's not very nice to my mom.
17:48
I mean, I don't beat her anything.
17:50
Caller
And he doesn't live with us right now. He works somewhere else.
17:53
Drew
But I just order Kathleen.
17:55
Caller
Sorry.
17:56
Drew
Any food issues for you?
17:59
Caller
Um, yeah.
18:00
Adam
Yeah.
18:01
Drew
This is eating disorder stuff.
18:03
Adam
All right. What should she do?
18:05
Drew
How bad is your eating disorder?
18:07
Caller
Um, well, actually, well, I don't really have it anymore. But like a few years ago, um, I used to throw up everything I ate and stuff.
18:18
Drew
Yeah, it's not good.
18:19
Adam
I throw up all the booze I drink.
18:21
Drew
Did you?
18:23
Caller
Well, I have a lot of other habits, too, actually.
18:26
Drew
Like what?
18:26
Caller
Like I pull my hair out and like I pick at my skin and stuff.
18:30
Drew
All right. Have you been treated for any of this?
18:32
Caller
No.
18:34
Drew
All right. So you have an eating disorder and maybe some obsessive compulsiveness. And part of it being obsessive compulsive is having intrusive thoughts and having compulsive behaviors that you can't control. And part of that may be these sort of little lines that you, that you blurred out. And certainly the eating disorder needs treatment and all of that will focus on self-esteem and help you with the biology of being obsessive compulsive. So please get some help with this. This is pretty serious.
18:56
Adam
All right. So what is she supposed to do?
18:59
Drew
Well, tell, she got to start with her. I'm sure that's a lie.
19:01
Adam
Do they have a liar's anonymous?
19:03
Drew
They actually do, but I don't, you know, that's not, she needs her eating disorder treated.
19:06
Adam
That's just like filling the punch line with the liar's anonymous.
19:11
Caller
Really?
19:12
Adam
Well, I mean, they have a gambler's anonymous.
19:15
Drew
Yeah, but that is a destructive behavior. That happens progressively.
19:19
Caller
All right.
19:19
Drew
But lying isn't a progressive thing.
19:21
Adam
Yeah, I feel really bad because, you know, what, Drew, you want to take a guess as to what I'm wearing tonight?
19:26
Drew
Um, Anne's Abercrombie pants.
19:29
Adam
Uh, what, is there a camera in the studio? I'm wearing a shirt you haven't seen in a little while. I'm really busted it out this season.
19:39
Drew
A gray, like gray...
19:41
Oh, no.
19:42
Adam
Drew, you called my outfit the West Virginia shirt.
19:46
Drew
Yeah, I was going to say school shirt, the gray shirt with Anne's pants and then a work shirt over that.
19:50
Adam
No, no work shirts. I was in too big a rush.
19:52
Drew
Okay.
19:53
Adam
All right.
19:54
Drew
But there's paint now on the amber-crumpy pants.
19:56
Adam
No, how dare you? I've not painted since Anne gave me these pants. And if I did, I'd put on fishing waiters. I would not chance wearing Anne's pajamas in front of paint. All right there, buddy. Geez, Drew guessed my outfit. Anyway, the point was is I wish I knew my number one fans were coming in tonight. It would have dressed a little nicer. Damien, you're 24. What's up?
20:22
Caller
Well, I've dated this girl for about two years and everything was great. And one day she said, you know, I don't want to see you anymore. You know, this was about almost a year ago and I'm still finding it very hard to get over her.
20:38
Drew
Are you still in a relationship with her? Do you have a friend?
20:40
Caller
No, I haven't seen her in almost a year.
20:43
Adam
You masturbate to her excessively?
20:46
Huh?
20:48
Adam
Oh, yeah. How often?
20:51
Caller
How often?
20:52
Yeah, like every day?
20:54
Caller
Pretty much. Yeah.
20:55
Adam
You get that weird vengeance whack going.
20:59
Drew
They call that the Venge Whack. Venge Whack.
21:01
Adam
The VW. Oh, yes. Done it many times myself. I do it from time to time like this.
21:08
Caller
Surprised myself.
21:09
Drew
But then you would obsess about going over there and trying to retrieve your baseball mitt.
21:13
Adam
I would have made an excuse. How come you're not trying to win her back feverishly?
21:19
Caller
I don't know. I mean, I tried talking to her about it and she'd hang up the phone on me.
21:23
Adam
She's made it abundantly clear she wants nothing to do with you.
21:26
Caller
Yeah, exactly.
21:27
Adam
And there's no crack of light coming through the door, right?
21:31
Caller
I tried to date other people, and all I can think about is her.
21:35
Adam
Yeah. Hey, Damien, there ain't nothing you can do about it other than live your life. Let it go. No, no. Here's what I'm going to say, because we haven't talked about this in a while, Drew, because you and I both been there, right? That horrible pit feeling, that stomach feeling, that pain, that inescapable pain, no matter how much fun you're having, you're not having fun. You get drunk, you get stoned, you're even having a worse time because then you start obsessing on it when you get effed up. Everything's a disaster. Here is the advice, and this is coming from a billion guys have been through this. You cannot do anything to make the pain go away. The only thing you can do is not put on 40 pounds and lose your job. You must move forward. You must just keep going forward. Do well in your work, do well in whatever your pursuits are, do well with your other relationships, your friends and all that kind of stuff. Don't alienate your family and just keep moving forward.
22:36
Caller
It's very hard for me because I've always been very shy.
22:40
Adam
I know. Listen, another relationship is not going to fix things immediately. You need to move forward in your life. You understand?
22:48
Drew
You need to be doing things that are more gratifying.
22:50
Adam
That's right.
22:51
Drew
Fuller sense of yourself.
22:52
Caller
But there you go. All that good stuff.
22:54
Drew
Damien really sounds depressed. If I had talked to Adam when he was 22, I would have called him airstrike in.
23:02
Caller
What do you mean?
23:03
Drew
You would have been so depressed and so self-depressed.
23:05
Adam
You would have done a doctor assisted mercy killing on me. I probably would have just put a pillow over my head and suffocated me.
23:12
Drew
I would like to remind Damien that there is help. He doesn't have to suffer with this depression.
23:15
Adam
Well, look at me. I was miserable and now I'm just generally displeased. See? So there's light at the end of the tunnel.
23:22
Drew
You're generally unhappy.
23:23
Adam
All right. Thank you very much for backing that up there, Drew. I think Lindsay and Bonnie are both here from Gross Point, if I'm not mistaken. Yes, we're going to bring them in the studio. And Drew, you hang tight over there in St. Louis and we'll be back after this.
23:40
Hello? Is this Loveline?
23:42
Call 1-800-LOVE-191.
23:45
Caller
Adam and Dr. Drew will be right back.
24:16
Adam
Yep, Loveline. I'm Adam Carolla. That is Dr. Drew and St. Louis, of all places, tonight. Bonnie Somerville and Lindsay Sloane are both here from Gross Point. Sunday Night, 9 of 30. 9 of 30. 9 of 30 on the wwwwb. And there's, tonight was the big finale, big season finale. There's a website. Basically, here's what we're trying to do with Gross Point. This is a good show that not enough people are watching.
24:51
Caller
It's a great show.
24:52
Adam
I mean, this is a great show.
24:53
Caller
Fabulous show.
24:54
Adam
That not enough people are watching.
24:57
Guest
It's pretty much the best show ever.
24:59
Adam
It's the best show on TV.
25:01
Guest
After the Man Show.
25:02
Adam
After the Man Show. Only to the Man Show.
25:04
Drew
That is not saying much.
25:06
Adam
How dare you chime in, Drew. And we got to get more people to watch this show because it's a good show. And I'm going to give out the... Now if I give out this web address, what good is this to people?
25:19
Guest
It's kind of like a Save Gross Point petition, where they're really paying attention to the people that do sign on and write in. And it's kind of like a letter campaign, how letters save party five. So we're trying to do the same thing with Gross Point.
25:32
Guest
And also, too, they're giving away a contest. If you go to the WB site, you can answer a certain amount of questions and you can win a guest spot on Gross Point next season.
25:42
Guest
But not if the show doesn't come back.
25:43
Caller
Well, that's the fine print.
25:45
Guest
We don't need to talk about the fine print, but all we need to talk about is you get a free wardrobe and a free trip for a friend to Hollywood.
25:51
Adam
But you just stand around like you're grunge fan number five in the pit, right?
25:58
Guest
Grunge fan number five is very necessary to make the show work.
26:01
Guest
Listen, my first three jobs was extra work. Let's not scoff at extra work.
26:07
Adam
Seriously, if you were getting that gig and you're in LA and you had an agent, you'd go on three or four, you'd have like three or four auditions.
26:13
Guest
Yeah, just for that.
26:15
Adam
They call you back. Like you guys know the whole audition process. Doesn't it drive you nuts when you go out for a nonsense nothing part, like this girl at the end of the bar, and then they call you back a couple of times?
26:26
Guest
I was just the girl at the end of the bar and bedazzled. That was actually the title at the end of the movie. Girl at the end of the bar. Like seven times? Seven times, screen-tested, producer session.
26:35
Adam
Right. Drew, how many times have I said this?
26:40
Drew
That you no longer go on auditions.
26:42
Adam
No, and that all casting directors can kiss my hairy Italian ass. I've said that a thousand times. And last but not least, there's way too many people doing not enough in this town. And that's why they do it. You know what I mean? What I mean is they wouldn't have time for this if they were understaffed and underpaid like everyone else in the world. They have too many people, too much money. So they have girl at the end of the bar come back for a seventh call back.
27:08
Guest
Right.
27:08
Adam
Which is total nonsense and a waste of your time. But they know everyone's desperate.
27:13
Guest
But it makes you feel good to know that 200 girls auditioned to be that blonde girl at the end of the bar. There were 200 blonde girls at that audition.
27:20
Guest
And you sat better than any of them. Yes.
27:23
Adam
Eric? Caller Eric?
27:26
Yes, I'm on the phone right now.
27:27
Adam
Yes, you're 22. You're 22 years old? What's backing up near you, Eric?
27:35
Caller
I'm at LAX. I'm at work actually. I'm a security guard.
27:39
Adam
Yes, and there's some van that's thrown into reverse there.
27:42
Caller
Yeah, yeah, you can tell, huh?
27:44
Adam
Yeah.
27:44
Drew
You're not working the airport security though, right?
27:48
Caller
No, no, no. I work in a warehouse and I really don't do anything anyway, so.
27:52
Adam
Right.
27:53
Caller
All I do is listen to the radio all night.
27:54
Adam
Good times.
27:55
Guest
I like that job.
27:56
Adam
What's up there, Eric?
27:58
Caller
I don't know. I always have problems trusting my girlfriend. I mean, I think it has to do with my ex-girlfriend. She cheated on me. And I don't know. My girl just tells me to trust her right now.
28:12
Adam
Well, listen, why shouldn't you? Has she ever done anything?
28:16
Caller
Have I ever done anything?
28:17
Adam
No, has she ever done anything?
28:19
Caller
No, she hasn't done anything. She just had a baby like four months ago.
28:23
Caller
You guys have a baby together?
28:24
Caller
Yeah, we have a baby together.
28:25
Adam
And what? Have you ever done anything? You ever cheated on her?
28:29
Caller
No, I've never cheated on her either, but my ex-girlfriend had.
28:32
Drew
I don't know.
28:32
Caller
I have a problem trusting chicks now.
28:34
Drew
How long ago was that relationship?
28:36
Caller
How long ago was my ex-girlfriend? Yes. It was probably about a year before I got with her.
28:44
Drew
How long ago was that?
28:47
Adam
Hold on, you can't hear over Steven Tyler in the background there. You listen to Aerosmith? Hey, Eric, is that Aerosmith?
28:54
Caller
Aerosmith? Yeah, it's on another radio.
28:56
Adam
Yeah, I can hear in the background.
28:58
Caller
Sorry about that.
28:59
Adam
That's all right there, buddy.
29:00
Drew
How would we have known what it was you got together with your girlfriend?
29:04
Adam
I don't know.
29:05
Drew
Maybe I missed something.
29:06
Caller
All the time. I mean, ever since I built her.
29:08
Drew
Listen, I want to know if it was five years ago.
29:11
Caller
Excuse me?
29:12
Drew
How long ago was it this girl cheated on you? What year?
29:16
Caller
It was in 99.
29:18
Adam
Okay.
29:19
Drew
Two years ago.
29:20
Adam
A couple of years.
29:22
Caller
All right.
29:22
Adam
So listen, Eric, this girl's never done anything to lose your trust. You will get her to do something if you keep bothering her. That is the sad, sad irony. And let me just say this is a side note to the guy who had it reversed with the beeping. Because now if you put a goddamn big wheel in reverse, one of those sirens goes off. Everything used to just be like the big trucks had that beep, beep, beep. Now every van, every forklift, everything has one. And here is a deal. I would gladly take a couple dozen kids being run over and crushed to death a year not to have to hear that easily, easily. It drives me insane. And here is, I mean, isn't that just Darwinism at its best? You know what I mean? Like if you can't figure out when something is about to back over you, do we really need you here? Don't we need to eliminate those people? I swear to God, I've been woken up by...
30:20
Guest
You sound like my mother when she came to visit LA and she heard the Don't Walk Walk in Santa Monica. She heard the beeping.
30:25
Adam
But that's for...
30:26
Guest
She's like, what? That's for people that can't see.
30:27
Caller
Who is that for?
30:28
Guest
I said, Mom, these poor people are blind. So what? It's so loud.
30:32
Caller
What are they doing?
30:33
Adam
I'd like to hook up with your mom.
30:34
Guest
Yeah, you'd get along with her pretty good, I'd say.
30:36
Adam
You'd sit around and complain.
30:37
Drew
Both are great humanitarian like yourself, Adam.
30:39
Guest
She'll be in town next week.
30:41
Adam
Okay, but listen, does the goddamn thing have to be so loud that people in the neighboring buildings realize you're in reverse or couldn't it just be the person who's standing behind the truck that hears it? Do you know what I mean? How loud does that thing have to be? I mean, I hear these guys coming up my street. My house is a hundred feet away from the street and I can hear it very clearly.
30:59
Caller
I'm backing up now.
31:01
Adam
Let's just focus it a little more. And if you don't hear it, well, fine. That's one less screwball we got to deal with. Janelle, thank you. Janelle, you're fifteen.
31:14
Caller
When I was about seven years old, my cousin molested me. He would just like lock me in his bedroom with him and just try to do stuff to me. About two weeks ago, my little sister told me that he's been doing the same thing to her.
31:30
Adam
How old is he now?
31:32
Caller
He's about seventeen.
31:35
Adam
So he's two years older than you are?
31:37
Caller
Yeah.
31:38
Adam
And you never told anybody?
31:40
Caller
No. And so after my sister told me, he's still trying to do stuff to her.
31:49
Adam
How old is your little sister?
31:50
Caller
She's thirteen.
31:51
Adam
Okay. So he's seventeen, she's thirteen.
31:54
Caller
Yeah.
31:55
Adam
You don't have any more contact with him that way?
31:58
Caller
No.
31:58
Adam
Okay.
31:59
Drew
You gotta tell your parents. You've got to.
32:02
Caller
Well, I tried telling my mom and she would just ignore it. Like she's just like, Oh, well, it's not that big of a deal. You know, I think you guys are over-exaggerating. So we told my aunt and she doesn't have any kids in me and her like really close. And she told me that his dad used to try to do stuff to them when they were littler.
32:25
Drew
Oh, my God. And Janelle, he didn't try. He did it. I'm sure.
32:30
Caller
And so I don't really know what to do because like my grandpa and my grandma are dead and my mom and my aunt, like they'll never talk about their parents. And whenever me or my sister or anyone really try to mention that they just sort of like shushed off and changed the subject.
32:50
Drew
Well, I bet grandpa was a real gem too.
32:52
Caller
Yeah.
32:53
Drew
Yeah, because of course his mom's sister picked this a-hole, right?
32:57
Caller
Right.
32:58
Drew
That sexually abused his kids.
33:00
Adam
Is it their brother? It never exists in a vacuum. Somebody gets the ball rolling and then the family just goes down that horrible path. And the women become attracted to guys who are abusive and then it starts this whole cycle. And their kids abuse and the victims become victimizers, especially if they're guys. It's a real mess. See why we got to get rid of some of those beepers and the reversing? We could run over a lot of our problems.
33:28
Drew
Could you give her that child help phone number that's on the side of the console there?
33:32
Adam
Ah, Christ, Drew. It's all the way on the other side.
33:34
Drew
I think you got to move three inches.
33:36
Guest
You want me to do it for you?
33:38
Adam
Yeah, could you? I mean, no.
33:39
Guest
Give me a job.
33:40
Adam
Let me see. All right, I'm going to go to where Drew's chair normally is. So the number one priority is getting help for yourself and your little sister. Now, your dad is where, Janelle?
33:51
Caller
My dad left before I was even born.
33:53
Adam
And he has no contact with the family?
33:57
Drew
That's probably good news.
33:58
Adam
Yeah, because I'm sure he's a huge prick. And then your mom is not listening. She's in denial because this happened to her at some point, right? And so the only sane person is her sister, right? No, one of one of her sisters.
34:16
Caller
Yeah, right.
34:17
Caller
He only has one sister.
34:19
Adam
She has one lesbian sister.
34:21
Caller
No, no, no.
34:22
Drew
Her sister was married to the abusive a hole. No, that abused the kid.
34:25
Adam
No, she wasn't.
34:27
Caller
That my cousin who does this stuff, his dad is my mom's brother. OK, so there's my mom, her brother and her sister.
34:37
Adam
Yeah, your mom's sister is sort of the voice of sanity.
34:40
Caller
Yeah, like she's not married and she doesn't have any kids. And she goes to therapy and I never really knew why. And then when I told her about this, she told me that it's because, well, their parents died in a car accident when they were like kind of young. And then she also told me that it was because her brother tried to do stuff to her and her sister.
35:00
Adam
Right. OK, so that's the one you got to, that's the person you have to enlist, this sister to help you. She's an adult and she's, you know, she's real normal in a relative way compared to the family. What am I, what number am I looking up here, Drew?
35:15
Drew
Child Help USA there.
35:18
Adam
Yeah, there we go. Hey, Janelle, you got a pen, pencil?
35:23
Caller
Yeah, hold on. Let me just get a pen.
35:26
Adam
All right.
35:27
Caller
OK.
35:27
Adam
Drew, this is really hurting my back. I'm bent over here.
35:30
Drew
I know. It's quite a stretch for you.
35:32
Adam
All right.
35:32
Drew
You're such a great humanitarian.
35:33
Caller
Yeah, this is great.
35:35
Drew
So many useful suggestions for society.
35:38
Caller
Are you ready?
35:39
Caller
Yeah.
35:39
Caller
All right.
35:39
Adam
This is 800-422-4453.
35:46
Caller
All right.
35:47
Caller
OK.
35:47
Adam
It's either that or or Dr. Harvey Bob Longley's Tyler Texas Barbecue.
35:53
Guest
I can't tell.
35:54
Adam
Yeah, there's a rib place on there, too. So if you get a rib place, you call us back. All right.
35:59
Drew
She can go through the sister's therapist, the aunt's therapist.
36:03
Adam
Yes. There. That's a a wonderful plan. Bonnie Somerville, Lindsay Sloane are both here. Courtney and Marcy from Gross Point. Sunday Nights. Double double WB 930. We're they're doing a big contest to get a spot on the second season of Gross Point. If there is a second season, that's the point. You've got to log on to GP at talk dot the wb.com. Is that good?
36:33
Guest
That's good. Yeah. Or just go to wb.com and find your way.
36:36
Adam
Right. There you have it. We'll take ourselves a little break.
36:39
Caller
Drew?
36:40
Caller
Yep.
36:41
Adam
Where were you getting up and going to the bathroom?
36:44
Drew
No, just dreaming about it.
36:45
Adam
Yeah.
36:46
Caller
Where?
36:46
Adam
Dreaming about us?
36:47
Drew
No, I was looking about it. I was just looking at our next call. I was looking at call four. Let's do that one.
36:52
Adam
All right. We'll talk to Jeff whose dad is cheating on his mom and he wants to know how to rat his dad out after this.
36:59
Guest
Hello, this is your radio. Loveline will be ready.
37:23
100.7 The Buzz.
37:36
Adam
It's Loveline from Adam Carolla. That is Dr. Drew, is it not?
37:43
Drew
It is.
37:44
Adam
Dr. Drew, calling from St. Louis. Tired, right?
37:49
Drew
No, not at all.
37:49
Adam
No, rejuvenated, feeling good?
37:52
Drew
Yeah, I feel great.
37:53
Adam
All right, you gonna be in here tomorrow night?
37:55
Drew
Yep.
37:55
Adam
All right, I'm gonna look forward to that, Drew.
37:58
Drew
I'll bring you lots of greetings from your affiliates.
38:00
Adam
Thank you.
38:00
Drew
Whom you never visit.
38:01
Adam
There you go, that's right. Bonnie Somerville, Lindsay Sloane are both here from Gross Point, Sunday Nights, 9.30 WB. It is the best show on TV, second to The Man Show.
38:14
Caller
Of course.
38:15
Adam
And it's important to keep good quality entertainment out there.
38:20
Drew
So you guys do want to have a second season, don't you?
38:23
Caller
Yes, very much so.
38:24
Drew
I wouldn't equate it with The Man Show then. That's not a good idea.
38:28
Adam
Well, Drew, you know, I'm hard at... The Man Show got a second season.
38:31
Guest
How about second to Loveline on television when it was at its prime?
38:35
Drew
Yeah, when it had a second season.
38:36
Adam
Yeah, listen, I'm hard at work on the next 26 episodes of The Man Show, so how dare you? We're in season number three. Jeff? You're 16. What's up?
38:49
Caller
How are you guys doing? Good.
38:50
Adam
Good.
38:51
Caller
Good. Thank you. Well, my parents got divorced like a month and a half ago, and it was like, I don't really like my mom. I don't get along with her that much. She's difficult to deal with, and I mean, me, my brother, and my dad all had trouble dealing with her. Why? Why? I don't know. She's just a tough person to deal with, and she doesn't compromise at all on any things, and I don't know. My parents had been having problems for a while, and they got divorced about a month and a half ago or something, and my dad moved out. He only lives like 10 minutes away, and recently I got to choose most of the time, so I've been staying with my dad. But I've seen my dad go on the computer a lot, and then he was on a lot of my mom when they were together, and I looked at his past history, and he's been going to all these porn sites and dating sites, and he's been going for years into the relationship with my mom. And I just looked back. I've seen him on when he was with my mom. And I...
39:59
Drew
So, the question is, was your mom a pain in the neck because of the way dad was behaving, or did your mom force him to start behaving that way?
40:05
Caller
She doesn't know about the other things.
40:07
Adam
Yeah, alright. Well, what are you going to do? Twist a knife in her stomach?
40:12
Caller
No, well...
40:13
Adam
Why do you want to go back and do this?
40:15
Caller
Well, what am I going to do with my dad?
40:18
Caller
What do you mean?
40:20
Drew
It's their business, yeah.
40:21
Adam
It's their business.
40:22
Drew
Really?
40:23
Adam
Don't bust your dad's balls.
40:25
Drew
Their relationship had lots of problems. You probably don't know the half of them. God knows they may have had an arrangement where it was okay to do this kind of thing.
40:33
Adam
That's right. They could have been swingers.
40:36
Drew
If you really have a really open relationship with your dad, you can talk to him about it certainly because it disturbs you. But don't get involved in it. That's their relationship.
40:45
Adam
Okay. Yeah. Just do what me and Drew did with our parents once we turned 13 or 14. We were looking at strange alien beings who we were living with and tried not to pay any attention to them. Shouldn't you be trying to distance yourself from your parents come around 13? Like as soon as you get your first pubic hair, you should decide your parents are evil and embarrassing. Yeah, they're divorced.
41:05
Guest
So it's all water under the bridge. Just let it go.
41:10
Adam
Yeah.
41:11
Drew
Yeah.
41:11
Adam
Did you punch up line one there?
41:13
Drew
I think I did. Is he there?
41:15
Adam
Do you know what you were thinking?
41:17
Drew
I screwed up a little bit. Is he there?
41:19
Adam
Yeah, I think he screwed up a lot.
41:21
Drew
Did I hang up?
41:22
Adam
No, I don't know what you did, but I don't see any call on that line. Why?
41:27
Drew
I go to two. Because there was a call there and I...
41:31
Adam
All right. Natalia or Natilia?
41:32
Guest
Natalia.
41:33
Adam
Natalia. What's happening there, baby?
41:36
Caller
Hi. I want to tell the girls that I really, really love the show. And that I was wondering that if you guys were going to do any movies or anything like...
41:49
Adam
Did you watch Tonight, by the way?
41:51
Caller
Yeah, I did. I was like, oh my God.
41:53
Adam
Good. Well, how about it? We'll start with Bonnie. Do you have any movies planned?
41:57
Guest
Hopefully, yeah. Do you have any offers? Lindsay's in Bring It On. Did you see Bring It On?
42:06
Caller
Oh, yeah, I thought it.
42:07
Guest
Yeah, that was a year ago, though.
42:10
Guest
Did you see Be Dazzled?
42:12
Caller
Oh, I missed that.
42:14
Guest
Well, we just finished doing the show, so now we're starting to audition again, and hopefully, you never know.
42:20
Guest
We got big offers, baby.
42:24
Guest
No, we're waiting for them.
42:26
Guest
I'm kidding.
42:26
Adam
They're hoping to sign on here at Westwood One before they leave tonight.
42:29
Guest
We'd like an offer for The Man Show, but it hasn't happened.
42:32
Guest
We're going to do The Woman Show.
42:33
Adam
Play your cards, Ryan.
42:35
Drew
Are you guys eating popcorn or something in there?
42:37
Adam
No.
42:37
Guest
No, I'm being rude and smacking my spoon. Sorry. Drinking coffee.
42:43
Drew
Ah, okay.
42:44
Adam
Kevin?
42:45
Caller
Yeah.
42:45
Adam
You're 16. What's up?
42:48
Caller
First of all, I want to tell you, Adam, you're a god.
42:50
Adam
Oh, thank you.
42:51
Caller
Dr. Drew, I love you.
42:52
Drew
Thanks, Kevin.
42:53
Guest
Adam is a god.
42:54
Caller
You don't know the half of it.
42:56
Guest
You don't know.
42:57
Adam
Some of my disciples came down to pay me a visit.
43:01
Guest
Adam has some fans here that are really just, they're freaking out right now.
43:04
Guest
He's like Michael Jackson in Europe right now.
43:08
Adam
That's right. If Michael Jackson had three fans, I would be just like him.
43:11
Guest
I hope he's not like Michael Jackson because they're actually very young.
43:14
Guest
I mean, they're practically crying and throwing themselves at the glass.
43:18
Adam
You know the most entertaining part about this entire thing? It's the look on producer Anne's face. The cross between shock, disbelief and confusion that has entered producer Anne's face.
43:31
Guest
Dr. Drew, I got to say, I think you might be a little jealous if you were down here right now.
43:36
Drew
My concern for these young ladies would be overwhelmed.
43:39
Guest
Yes, you would be very concerned.
43:40
Drew
Yeah, the concern would overwhelm any jealousy.
43:43
Adam
Kevin?
43:44
Caller
Yeah.
43:45
Adam
You're 16, go ahead.
43:47
Caller
My parents have been fighting off and on as long as I can remember. Never separated, not that I know of. It's just continuously when they're together, they're fighting. My mom's talking to me all the time about, I'm afraid I'm going to die not knowing what true love is.
44:05
Adam
Telling you this?
44:07
Drew
It's not appropriate, Kevin. No, it's not appropriate. Listen, this isn't your problem. They get something out of this relationship. That's why they're in it. And it's nothing to do with you. It's just them. You shouldn't be intruded upon by their chaos.
44:23
Adam
Well, listen, we're stumbling on to a theme tonight with this, which is all you out there, your parents are doing what your parents would do if you were on the planet or weren't on the planet. It's sad, but you're not responsible for them. Right. And if you have a situation where it's chaotic and your parents are going at it or someone's stepping out on somebody or somebody's raising a voice at somebody, here's what you do. Shut your bedroom door, whack off and go to bed. That's what I did. And then...
44:55
Drew
That's what you do in response to everything, though. Can we have something unique for this situation?
45:00
Adam
I live alone now. That's what I do. Now, listen, you go to school, you get your grades up, you use it as incentive to move far away to college. And become independent quickly and get out of this sort of chaotic mire that you're living in known as a home. Because I'm sorry, but you're no position to fix them and there's really nothing you can do. Just avoid it.
45:23
Drew
It's unfortunate they put you in that position at all.
45:25
Adam
Yes. And you can...
45:27
Guest
And hopefully don't look for a relationship that's similar to the one that you're living in right now.
45:32
Drew
There you go.
45:33
Adam
Try not to recreate that chaos.
45:35
Guest
I'm a child of divorce. I can tell you, try to break the chain.
45:39
Adam
Yes. Yes. There is something attractive about chaos when you come from chaos.
45:43
Guest
But there's also something attractive about peace when you come from chaos, if you can find it. So...
45:49
Adam
Right. We will... Drew?
45:51
Guest
Yeah.
45:52
Adam
You want to... Yeah, let's talk to someone and we'll go to break. We'll do a little... A little what they call a tease in radio. Christine?
45:59
Guest
Hi.
45:59
Adam
27.
46:00
Caller
Right.
46:01
Guest
I have actually two problems. And first I want to say I appreciate you both for what you do.
46:06
Adam
Thanks.
46:07
Guest
And I wish I could hear your radio station from where I'm at.
46:10
Caller
All right.
46:11
Guest
I'm calling right now from a garage so my husband doesn't hear me. We've been married for eight years. And for the first year our sex was great. And since then it's been down the road, or down from there. And he prefers to masturbate now instead of have sex with me, which I understand masturbating is natural. But when is it not fair to me?
46:39
Drew
All right, Adam, we got to get into this.
46:43
Adam
Yeah, I mean, sex is good. It's just not the real thing. I've said that a few times.
46:49
Guest
I think it's not fair to you if you're not getting any.
46:51
Guest
I think the fact that you have to make this call is already at the point where it's not fair.
46:55
Adam
Yeah, hold on. We'll get into it. The fact that you're in a garage in Utah in the middle of winter.
46:59
Guest
And you're not masturbating yourself, then we need to talk to you.
47:03
Adam
Hang on. Hey, Christine?
47:05
Guest
Yeah.
47:05
Adam
Yes, don't inhale any carbon monoxide or anything. Just sit tight.
47:11
Guest
Okay.
47:11
Adam
Sit on a nice thing of oily rags and have a cigarette and wine. All right?
47:16
Guest
Have a cold beer.
47:17
Drew
Speaking of cars and carbon monoxide, you hear about Dale Earnhardt today?
47:19
Adam
Yeah. I heard that he died. Yeah.
47:22
Drew
Isn't that wild?
47:23
Adam
Yeah. We'll take ourselves a... That's a good one going into break, by the way, Drew. We're gonna all mourn.
47:28
Guest
Have a moment of silence.
47:31
Caller
Yeah.
47:32
Adam
Let's all just think about Dale Earnhardt.
47:33
Guest
Christine's not getting any and Dale died.
47:35
Caller
Right.
47:35
Guest
It's not a happy day.
47:36
Adam
We will take a little break. Bonnie and Lindsay are both here from Gross Point 930 WB Sunday Nights.
47:42
Caller
Take a break.
47:43
Adam
We'll get back with Christine after this.
47:48
Caller
Loveline will be right back.
47:50
Caller
So get your problems ready.
48:07
You're listening to Loveline on Outrageous Talk Radio.
48:11
Caller
100.7 The Buzz.
48:32
Adam
Loveline 5's growing outlaw radio show North America. Yeah, that's radio.
48:39
Drew
Adam, you're impressing the ladies.
48:40
Woo.
48:41
Drew
Nice.
48:42
Adam
That is radio. The way I squeezed that all in, right for the downbeat came back.
48:47
Caller
Yeah.
48:48
Drew
You've got the fans crying.
48:50
Caller
Yeah.
48:51
Drew
You've got that radio.
48:52
Literally.
48:53
Drew
Rhythm down.
48:55
Guest
I really wish you were here, Dr. Drew.
48:57
Adam
Yeah, true. You're really missing something. Yeah.
49:00
Drew
It really would be disturbing to me.
49:02
Adam
The girls are this close to, they're in this swooning process as we speak, Drew. One of them.
49:09
Guest
They're crying. They're actually crying right now.
49:10
Adam
One of them may have a heart attack before the night is over.
49:13
Guest
Oh my goodness. It's like Michael Jackson, honestly, was in the building.
49:18
Adam
It's crazy.
49:18
Drew
Debbi, I spoke in Carnegie Hall with Michael Jackson on Tuesday night or Wednesday night, and you wouldn't believe how people throw themselves at him. I mean, he was insane.
49:27
Caller
I can't believe it because I'm seeing it with Adam right now.
49:29
Drew
Right. He is wild.
49:31
Adam
Picture one guy throwing himself at Michael Jackson. Now times that by three. That's what I got here.
49:39
Guest
That's right.
49:40
Adam
That's right.
49:41
Guest
Plus me and Lindsay are trying to restrain ourselves.
49:43
Guest
Yeah.
49:44
Adam
It must be tough. I know because you guys are getting caught up in the Adam Corolla fever.
49:49
Guest
It's hard.
49:49
Adam
The frenzy over here.
49:50
Guest
It's actually nice because we don't seem as overt as we thought we would.
49:53
Guest
We seem subdued.
49:54
Guest
We're playing hard to get.
49:55
Caller
We're playing hard to get.
49:58
Adam
They're doing a great job of it, by the way.
50:00
Caller
Oh, no.
50:01
Drew
Christine, the Utah caller, we lost.
50:02
Guest
No, Christine.
50:05
Caller
Go have sex.
50:06
Adam
Bonnie Somerville and Lindsay Sloane are both here. Courtney and Marcy from Gross Point. Sunday Night's at 930 WB. Well, should we just move on to our next call then, Drew?
50:16
Drew
Yeah, Stephanie is already potted up there.
50:19
Adam
Stephanie, you're 23. What's up?
50:23
Caller
Yes. My question is, is the morning after pill a safe method for birth control?
50:30
Drew
What do you mean by that?
50:32
Caller
Instead of taking the pill every day, just after sex, just take one pill to prevent it.
50:42
Drew
No, that's not adequate. It is, first of all, it's not nearly as effective taken that way. Indeed, it acts, the mechanism of action, the mechanism by which it prevents a pregnancy is the same when it's taken after sex. And people don't understand that. It's exactly the same. However, it's not as effective taken that way. And if you find that you're taking morning after contraception repeatedly, that means you're not properly attending to your contraceptive needs. And that's the time to sit down with your doctor and talk about that.
51:08
Guest
It's also only for emergency contraception, really.
51:11
Adam
Yeah, well, that's what it's called.
51:13
Guest
If you have 72 hours, and if you think that you could get pregnant during that 72 hours, then you have something that you can use.
51:23
Adam
But Bonnie, you're hip to the morning after scene.
51:27
Guest
I know about the morning after pill.
51:29
Guest
I've also heard that it makes you very ill, so it doesn't seem like that would be a wise choice.
51:33
Guest
It makes you sick because it's like birth control times, you know, the hormones that you get from birth control times four, so you do feel very sick. But it is good if you think you could be pregnant. It's an unwanted pregnancy and you know for sure that you have three days and, you know.
51:48
Drew
It's not mistaken, it is not a pregnancy.
51:50
Guest
It prevents pregnancy.
51:53
Drew
And Plan B, which doesn't have all that estrogen, really doesn't cause the nausea. So if that's a concern for you, Plan B will give you the same protection without the nausea.
52:02
Guest
But it's not for an everyday use by any means.
52:05
Adam
No, definitely.
52:06
Drew
It's not for, in other words, it's not contraception. It's an emergency alternative.
52:11
Adam
Right.
52:11
Drew
If you aren't able, you hadn't been for some reason properly protected, but get properly protected if that's what you need.
52:17
Adam
All right, let's speak to Stanley who's 23. Stanley.
52:23
Hi guys, this question is more for the Gross Point girls. I've been dating a girl for about six months, a beautiful girl, Brazilian, I'm dropped at everything's great. I think she's a clean girl.
52:37
Adam
Sure.
52:37
However, I have been an issue of when we get intimate and I go, you know, maybe down to perform oral sex on her. Um, it's more of a turn off because of, uh, I don't know if you'd say maintenance, but there's just some things down there that I'd like to see happening that aren't.
52:55
Guest
And why exactly is this more for the Gross Point girls than for Adam and Drew?
52:59
Guest
Because we're ladies. We have more maintenance.
53:03
Drew
What is the maintenance issue referring to?
53:05
Guest
Are you talking about, um, pubic hair or smell or what are you talking about?
53:10
Drew
I just want to go to finishing school, Adam.
53:12
Adam
Yeah.
53:13
Talking about feminine odor and it, how should I bring it up to her? I mean, have you guys ever encountered this or is there a certain way to bring it up? I mean, are there certain moves I can do to let her know?
53:24
Guest
Well, anything other than you got your spank on would be good, but...
53:28
Adam
It's a coincidence that the Gross Point Girls are here, because this is going to be covering an upcoming episode.
53:33
Guest
Exactly.
53:34
Adam
This is in Season 2. A very controversial episode, yes.
53:36
Guest
A very special Gross Point.
53:37
Drew
Titled Stinky Foo Foo.
53:38
Caller
Well, okay.
53:39
Guest
Titled Not So Feminine Feeling.
53:41
Adam
We get this question all the time and as guys, we do our best to try to navigate through it, but what is, what would be the only acceptable way a guy could bring this up to you?
53:54
Drew
And let's put in the context of the fact that it usually means there's an infection present.
53:58
Guest
It is your girlfriend, right?
54:00
Adam
Oh, hold on. Let me get him back. His line was big. Yeah, she's hot, right. Okay. It's funny, you know, it's funny, guys, when they're talking about a girl and there's something wrong with her, they'll always keep working the hot thing.
54:16
Guest
He said she's a beautiful Brazilian babe.
54:18
Adam
She's really hot. She tried to kill me. She's really hot.
54:21
Guest
She's married to a couple of guys with my brother. She's gorgeous.
54:25
Adam
Yeah. Her vagina smells like jerk chicken. She's really, really hot. She's so hot. You know, it's like, yeah, because she wasn't hot. We'd say just kill her in her sleep. But since she's hot, we'll have to see if we can salvage this one. So what would you here's what I'm saying.
54:41
Guest
This is a very touchy subject. I think a lot of girls are very sensitive about this already.
54:45
Adam
Definitely. But what would be as a female, the most acceptable way you could hear this news?
54:52
Drew
Adam, tell them what you normally tell them.
54:54
Adam
I will. Okay, let me give you my angle on this one. Okay. And I think this is going to work on both of you later. Here's how it goes. I shouldn't even give it away, Drew, in case I need it later.
55:05
Caller
Now we're going to know the line.
55:06
Adam
Right.
55:06
Caller
You know my move.
55:07
Adam
Now here it is. Honey, I noticed a little, now you don't say bad. Even odor is not good. I noticed a special smell coming from your special area. And I'm concerned because I care about you very much. And I was listening to Loveline and somebody called in and was talking about this and Dr. Drew said it could be an infection. And he was worried. And he said that the girls should get checked out. And I'm wondering if maybe you have an infection and I care about you and I worry about you. And I think you should get checked out because I don't want you know, I don't want anything to go wrong with you down there.
55:48
Guest
I think at this point, you've gone on way too long. Too much talking, too much way too much talking.
55:53
Adam
All right.
55:53
Guest
But at this point, at this point, she's already crying, saying, you think I smell?
55:58
Adam
Baby, I love you so much. I just I hope there's nothing wrong. And I just want to, you know, see a doctor. See if we can. I have a doctor, a mafia doctor. I'd like to look at him. He drives a van. As a matter of fact, he's out front now.
56:11
Drew
I think Dr. Bombay.
56:12
Guest
If it's your girlfriend, hopefully, if you're in a relationship, you would be able to say, honey, is there something wrong? Yeah, it smells kind of funny and never really smelled before.
56:22
Adam
What about this angle? How about this one? Same. It's a slight variation of the same angle, which is I never noticed it before and something has changed. I'm wondering if you got an infection.
56:33
Guest
Yeah. How about that? Yeah, definitely. If you've been having a relationship with her for a while, but what if it's the beginning? Is it possible that it's not an infection, that some girls just smell different than others?
56:46
Drew
It's possible. Adam, please. It's possible. If you have some personal experience, Adam, you can do it.
56:51
Caller
Oh, yeah.
56:52
Adam
Oh, yeah.
56:54
Drew
No. Yes, it's possible that somebody may not appreciate someone else's normal odor. But if it's... And it should be considered... Infections are proven otherwise.
57:05
Guest
But what's so amazing to me is most men don't know that.
57:09
Caller
No, I understand that.
57:10
Guest
When I hear men talk about women that smell, they think it's totally normal to have an overpowering fishy smell. And it's like, no, that's really not normal to, you know...
57:19
Drew
Yeah, and men like take advantage, they make fun of the women for that.
57:23
Guest
Right, and they think it's normal. And it's like, no, if it's overpowering, there's something wrong.
57:27
Adam
All right, so come from the health and concern angle.
57:32
Guest
Health and concern, you have to say something, because it's scary.
57:36
Adam
Hey, you'd be all right during that.
57:37
Guest
And if not, if it's just her natural smell, maybe, you know, make a shower part of foreplay to try to calm that down a little.
57:45
Guest
Thank you. Thank you. That is a good idea.
57:47
Adam
Christine is on the line. She's 27 and she's back, right? What's up there, Christine?
57:53
Guest
Okay, well, as you knew my question, what it was...
57:57
Adam
Yes, you and your husband married for how many years?
58:00
Guest
Eight years.
58:00
Adam
And it was going great the first year.
58:02
Guest
It was going great the first year.
58:04
Adam
Sexually, and now it's dropped off.
58:06
Guest
Oh, severely.
58:07
Guest
You got married at 19?
58:08
Guest
Yes.
58:08
Adam
And he would prefer to masturbate than be with you?
58:12
Guest
Yes, he's hinting to it. The reasons he gives, he says sex is overrated, he says he's pre-occupied. Bad sign. With stress.
58:22
Adam
How's the rest of the relationship going?
58:25
Guest
Other than financial stresses, we just were in a big blowout tonight over it, financial stresses. He wants to take away the phone and everything else.
58:35
Adam
Well, if times are tight, you can't have this kind of extravagant luxuries such as a phone.
58:41
Drew
The water and the phone.

I agree. I just, I don't know what to do. I mean, he's stressing so bad. I don't know if it's considered mental abuse when he, I mean, he's starting to lay the stress over on me almost every day.
58:54
Adam
Well, what's he do for a living?
58:56
Guest
You're going to hate this, Adam.
58:57
Adam
Roofer?
58:58
Guest
He's a truck driver.
58:59
Adam
No.
59:00
Guest
But he's not your stereotypical no matter what.
59:02
Adam
No, he's worse.
59:04
Drew
Is he doing speed?
59:05
Guest
No, he doesn't, he doesn't even smoke cigarettes or drink.
59:10
All right.
59:12
Adam
How often do you get the sex?
59:14
Guest
Now it's maybe once every couple of weeks, maybe once a month.
59:18
Adam
Yeah. Have you had any kids recently?
59:20
Guest
No, he doesn't want to.
59:21
Drew
He's the one falling off, not her.
59:23
Adam
No, I'm asking if there's something up with her physically or-
59:27
Drew
No, she's fine. Oh, I see what you mean.
59:29
Adam
Would you shut up, you idiot? He's looking at her like mama or something like that. You know what I'm saying?
59:35
Drew
Yeah.
59:35
Adam
But there's none of that going on.
59:37
Guest
No, I feel unattractive now because of this.
59:41
Adam
No.
59:41
I'm very low.
59:42
Adam
No, baby, that's not you. You're as hot as you ever were, which is however hot you were. I don't know how hot that is. The deal is, you guys get a little counseling, and I know you don't have money for that.
59:55
Guest
Right.
59:56
Adam
So what can they do, Drew?
59:58
Drew
I'm still trying to figure out what the problem is.
1:00:00
Guest
I would masturbate, but I was always taught not to.
1:00:04
Drew
Who taught you that? Who taught you that?
1:00:06
Guest
Well, my grandparents and my mom.
1:00:08
Caller
They taught you that?
1:00:10
Guest
Yeah, well, yeah, they're from Denmark, they're real strict.
1:00:14
Adam
But what do you mean, they didn't give you a special technique for not masturbating? They just said, don't do it.
1:00:19
Guest
They just said, never touch there, that's not the thing to do.
1:00:23
Adam
Okay, all right, but you now realize you're idiots, right?
1:00:26
Guest
Yeah, but now I go ahead. I can't seem to enjoy it. So I feel if he's doing that to relieve stress or whatever, then when do I get anything?
1:00:37
Adam
Listen, Christine, you guys are all wrapped up about sex, but that's not the crux of the matter here.
1:00:43
Drew
That's not the big deal.
1:00:43
Adam
He's pulling out of the relationship. This masturbatory shell he's withdrawn into is his own and he's pulling himself out of the relationship.
1:00:56
Drew
I get the sense that there's something up with him, like he's depressed or he's on speed or something to really make him unable or have his libido drop off so profoundly.
1:01:07
Guest
It's definitely money. I mean, he stresses.
1:01:09
Adam
No, it's ridiculous.
1:01:11
Drew
But maybe he's so depressed about that.
1:01:12
Adam
Yeah, but here's the thing. I think that's just an excuse or byproduct of something else.
1:01:19
Drew
Yeah, yeah.
1:01:19
Adam
I mean, listen, poor people do the most humping. That's why the world's turning into a dump, by the way. It's all the poor folks who can't afford having families or having the biggest families. So it's the money and sex thing that doesn't that doesn't equate.
1:01:35
Guest
OK.
1:01:36
Adam
You see what I mean? That's that's as much free entertainment as a guy's going to get.
1:01:39
Guest
Yeah, that is true.
1:01:40
Guest
I told him I was on the phone with you guys and he's the one that got me to listen to you guys and he won't even get on the phone.
1:01:45
Adam
You can't get him to the phone.
1:01:47
Guest
Do you bring it up a lot, the fact that you're not having sex?
1:01:50
Guest
I try not to, but it doesn't end up coming up.
1:01:53
Adam
Right. So, Christine, here's what you got to do. And he'll probably freak if you keep putting it in the context of sex. Just talk about the relationship.
1:02:02
Drew
And I think he's depressed. I really do think he's significantly depressed.
1:02:05
Adam
I do too, but you need to say, listen, you want this relationship to keep going, you have to put some effort in. I'm not talking about sex, I'm talking about communication. And if you don't, then say it. So you know where you're standing, you know where to go. He's got to step up. Giselle?
1:02:23
Caller
Yeah, hi.
1:02:24
Adam
You're 16, what's up?
1:02:26
Caller
Nothing, I'm a little nervous, but I just want to say, Adam?
1:02:30
Caller
You're totally hot.
1:02:31
Caller
I've been listening to you since I was like 12.
1:02:34
Guest
Where are you tonight? Join the line, sister.
1:02:35
Caller
Where are you?
1:02:39
Caller
I'm going to be your friend.
1:02:41
Caller
And I just want to say to Drew, you're like my role model. I want to be like a nurse. And he's just like the greatest. I'm just like a nurse.
1:02:51
Caller
I would. Adam, you're hot. And Drew's totally hot.
1:02:54
Adam
Giselle, let me tell you something. I don't want to blow my own horn. But if we took every girl that was into me in this area tonight and line them up, they would go from the studio door almost to the front door of Westwood One, which is almost 18 feet.
1:03:09
Caller
Right.
1:03:09
Adam
So I mean, it's almost out of hand over here.
1:03:13
Guest
If Bonnie and I were to lie down on the floor, we would reach the door.
1:03:17
Adam
Dare you. All right.
1:03:20
Caller
All right.
1:03:20
Adam
All right, Giselle, go ahead.
1:03:21
Caller
Well, I'm 16 and I met this guy through a friend of mine, April 14th, in 2000, and it was her brother. And see, the thing is that I haven't been able to make a decision because technically we've kind of been together for 10 months and I'm totally like in love with him. And there's been some issues and I've my friends have actually kind of witnessed some episodes. And I think I've been in absolute denial about some things.
1:03:51
Adam
What episodes?
1:03:52
Caller
Well, like there's been times where he has, I guess you could say, been physically abusive. And there's been times where I've been like, okay, I'm done, I'm over with this, you know, I deserve better, life's too short not to have one.
1:04:04
Adam
Alright, hold on, how old is he?
1:04:06
Caller
He's 18.
1:04:07
Adam
And what did he do that could have been physically abusive?
1:04:10
Caller
Well, there's been times where, I mean, if you wake him up and he does not want to be woken up, there's been times where he will just start yelling and he'll kick, he'll hit, he'll do, he'll, whatever, he'll just get very physically abusive, I guess, and there's been times where he's choked me. I mean, I guess I've like blocked some of it out, but I mean, if I was...
1:04:34
Drew
Why? Where have you learned to be such a victim? What happened to you growing up? How do you block out victimization like that?
1:04:41
Caller
I really... I mean, I guess I have put thought into it. I have been in therapy and stuff for, you know, like anxiety and depression and things, but I mean, clearly, I guess possibly it could have been maybe growing up with my grandmother for a short time. She was very abusive to my mother.
1:05:01
Adam
She's physically abusive to your mother?
1:05:02
Caller
Physically abusive to my mother. She adopted the three children, and my mother happened to be adopted and her sister, and the two girls were the only ones that were physically abused every day at like 5 o'clock.
1:05:13
Adam
Really? What is she, Italian?
1:05:16
Caller
My grandmother that adopted them, she's Mexican.
1:05:19
Adam
Aha!
1:05:20
Caller
Exactly, I know.
1:05:21
Adam
Yeah, I knew it was one of them.
1:05:22
Caller
I know.
1:05:24
Drew
Did somebody do something to you, though, directly?
1:05:25
Guest
I would have said Irish, but...
1:05:27
Adam
Yeah, they're drunk and passed out by five.
1:05:30
Guest
Well, my family is 6'30.
1:05:32
Caller
I mean, I've talked about it with my mother, but I think that everybody feels like they got the wrath and I got nothing. But growing up, it was very hard because she liked to... When I was young and I had no opinion, that's when she liked me. But when I got to an age where I was wearing makeup and had an opinion, she no longer liked me.
1:05:47
Adam
All right. Well, listen, let's stick to the matter at hand here, which is this guy who strangled you and has taken some swings and kicks at you. That's enough.
1:05:57
Drew
He's got to go.
1:05:58
Adam
Yeah, you got to get out of this.
1:05:59
Caller
I have a very screwed up family. I thought mine was bad, but...
1:06:02
Drew
No, it's inexcusable. There's no excuse for that behavior. Unless he is in treatment for it, it's going to get worse.
1:06:08
Caller
No, he's not in treatment. Shocking.
1:06:09
Drew
And you suspect he's doing drugs and alcohol?
1:06:13
Caller
He is a chronic pot smoker to me, and there is alcoholism in his family. His mother is clearly an alcoholic, and he has some episodes when drunk.
1:06:22
Adam
Really? I'll tell you, I swear to Christ, when I'm in charge, I'm going to take guys like this and tag them like they're some caribou or something. I'll just put a god damn beacon on them. I'll just clip it right onto their ear. It'll have a corresponding number on it, and a little transponder beacon. Now just keep an eye, just keep an eye out. And when they get out of line, just come down on them with a hammer. That's it. Because think about it, this guy's 18. You know what I'm saying? How much trouble is this guy going to get into before he gets straight? Whose lives is he going to ruin? Is he going to have a couple kids? Is he going to beat on his wife a little bit? Is he going to kill some guy he works with?
1:06:59
Guest
And he's not going to stop now? He's not going to stop pushing you and choking you?
1:07:03
Adam
No, not if he's not trying to get any help. So Giselle, just get out of this thing. You're 16.
1:07:08
Guest
You're too young.
1:07:09
Adam
Yeah, who needs this crap at 16? Michael?
1:07:12
Caller
Yeah.
1:07:12
Adam
You're 18?
1:07:13
Caller
Yeah.
1:07:14
Adam
What's up?
1:07:16
Caller
Well, all my life, I've pretty much never had a date or anything.
1:07:20
Adam
Yeah.
1:07:20
Caller
Or really any girlfriend type.
1:07:23
Adam
I mean, I'll send one of my chicks over.
1:07:28
Caller
I don't know.
1:07:29
Caller
Interesting offer.
1:07:30
Adam
Yeah. Michael, how come?
1:07:33
Caller
That's kind of why I called.
1:07:35
Caller
I have no idea.
1:07:37
Drew
Have you asked someone out?
1:07:39
Caller
Yeah.
1:07:39
Drew
And what happens?
1:07:41
Caller
They just said, thanks, but I'm looking for someone else.
1:07:45
Adam
I see. And how much? No one says I'm looking for someone else. That's what your depressed mind hears. They just go, thanks. They make some excuse up. No, they did not. Thanks, but I'm looking for someone else? Yeah. Wait a minute. Are you just farting at the phone? No, no. What the hell was that?
1:08:03
Caller
Static.
1:08:04
Adam
Okay. You start farting and that's when the ladies come running. I love that. Hey, Michael, how many girls would you say you've asked out in your short life?
1:08:14
Caller
About one or two. All right.
1:08:15
Adam
Well, that's nothing. You got to do a lot more than that.
1:08:19
Caller
All right.
1:08:20
Adam
You understand? It's really, it's like saying you've bought in two lottery tickets and haven't won yet.
1:08:25
Guest
Those girls are just practice.
1:08:27
Caller
Yeah.
1:08:27
Adam
Right. You got to show up. You got to show up. You got to show up at that crappy liquor store every day. Plop down every penny you've made just to maybe get like a $5 scratcher. That's it.
1:08:38
Caller
That's true.
1:08:39
Adam
Matt, you're 17. What's up?
1:08:42
Caller
After I have sex and I go to the bathroom, it burns.
1:08:45
Drew
How long has that been going on for?
1:08:47
Caller
A couple of months now.
1:08:49
Drew
That's STD, Matt. You got to get that checked out right away.
1:08:52
Adam
You've been having sex?
1:08:53
Drew
That is the sign of an STD is when it hurts when you pee.
1:08:56
Caller
Really? Yeah.
1:08:58
Adam
Yeah.
1:08:59
Drew
It's possible that maybe it's just a nonspecific re-arthritis, but be that as it may, this has to be treated. You can get a lot of complications. You can get nary in the re-threatening, get abscess for it. It's going to be a big mess. Go see someone.
1:09:10
Guest
And you can infect the girl that you're with as well. She's probably already infected.
1:09:14
Drew
Yeah, yeah. If you're with the same girl since the beginning, that may be where you got it. And women can carry things like...
1:09:19
Adam
Even if you don't pee on them, right, Drew?
1:09:20
Drew
And even if you don't pee on them, women can carry stuff like this and not know it. And Chlamydia is the one that can be the most destructive because it continues to cause destruction of the tubes even though they don't know they have the infection.
1:09:30
Adam
Hey, Drew, do women's urethra... Does urethra on the women ever... Urethra ever narrow on the women?
1:09:38
Drew
Yeah.
1:09:38
Adam
They do?
1:09:39
Drew
Getting dilatations of the urethra, but theirs isn't as long, and so it...
1:09:43
Adam
I don't know.
1:09:44
Drew
So along the course of it, men can get narrowing from infection and whatnot.
1:09:48
Adam
Right. And they fix it with that same graduated steel rod that they use on men?
1:09:54
Drew
Yes.
1:09:55
Adam
Oh, that's bad times. Yeah, that's bad.
1:09:58
Drew
Sometimes men, they use these still like spikes. Very nice.
1:10:02
Adam
They go right up the urethra, right? How far in does that thing go?
1:10:07
Drew
All the way to the bladder. That hurts.
1:10:08
Adam
Oh, really?
1:10:08
Drew
Oh, someone's had something there.
1:10:10
Adam
Who's had? Bonnie? Is that you?
1:10:12
Guest
No, I've heard that it hurts.
1:10:13
Drew
Oh, of course. A friend, a friend.
1:10:15
Guest
On men, on men.
1:10:16
Adam
Oh, yeah. Yeah, my other partner had that. It was bad times. Actually, Drew did it. You just use a coat hanger, right?
1:10:24
Guest
You could have a urinary tract infection, maybe.
1:10:27
Drew
Yeah, but again, a male, it's a little different than men that are having burning with urination. That is urethritis almost by definition, as somebody who's sexually active.
1:10:34
Adam
All right. Let's take ourselves a break. Who do you want to talk to when we come back, Drew?
1:10:41
Drew
We've talked to almost all of these.
1:10:42
Adam
We have?
1:10:43
Drew
Let's see what we call it. Yeah, all except for six.
1:10:45
Adam
All right. You mean Dan over here? Yeah. His girlfriend cheated on him and he has dreams of killing her?
1:10:51
Drew
That's a nice up beat call to...
1:10:53
Adam
Well, boys will be boys. I mean, he's 14. Come on. All right. We'll take ourselves a little break. We'll be back with some of the folks from Gross Point after this.
1:11:23
You're listening to Loveline on Outrageous Talk Radio.
1:11:26
100.7 The Buzz.
1:11:38
Adam
Hey, Loveline, I'm Adam Carolla. That is Dr. Drew over there in St. Louis, which I hear is a nice town. Is it not, Drew?
1:11:47
Drew
It is a great town. Absolutely great town.
1:11:48
Adam
Did you go to that arch?
1:11:51
Drew
No, I've seen it many times.
1:11:52
Adam
I'll tell you, that is a engineering marvel, that arch. It really is. It's really spectacular. You want to just second that, Drew, or can we just move on?
1:12:02
Drew
Yeah, very exciting, Adam. Thank you.
1:12:04
Adam
I really think it's a beautiful, beautiful piece.
1:12:07
Drew
It is, and even if you've never been to this town, the thing I like is the Union Station. This is just the coolest thing. This old train station, they converted it into a hotel.
1:12:13
Adam
Doesn't everything is nice when you're from LA.? Everywhere else. Yeah, because you know the biggest tourist attraction in LA., it's the La Brea Tar Pits. We have a hole that is in the center of town that is filled with tar.
1:12:28
Guest
And fake elephants stuck in it.
1:12:30
Adam
And we charge people to look at it.
1:12:32
Guest
But it's been there for millions of years.
1:12:34
Adam
I know, but if that were in any other town, it would be considered an eyesore. It's like someone say, we have to put sand over that thing.
1:12:42
Guest
It would be considered a swamp.
1:12:45
Adam
Yeah, it is a pit that is filled with tar that is hardly a natural wonder. It really isn't. I mean, listen, all you people have never seen the La Brea Tar Pits. Next time you go to your garage, look at the floor. You see where your transmission has been leaking? That's it. That's what we got. You see that moth that's stuck in it? There you go. Yeah. There you have it. And they go, well, listen, though, they're currently doing excavating there. You can go take a look at the excavation process as it goes on. So you walk through this other area and you look in a hole and there's a whole bunch of kids from UCLA that are just digging. Like if you've seen someone dig a swimming pool, you've seen this.
1:13:26
Guest
Everything that's there.
1:13:28
Adam
Yeah, there's nothing there.
1:13:29
Guest
They're like throwing in chicken bones and saying it's a discovery.
1:13:32
Adam
Yeah.
1:13:32
Drew
And what is their prize sort of findings there?
1:13:35
Guest
They have woolly mammoths.
1:13:37
Adam
They'll find nothing.
1:13:38
Guest
Woolly mammoths.
1:13:39
Drew
You go into the wall of sort of display of what they've found. There's 400 wolves' heads.
1:13:46
Adam
Yeah, a lot of wolves. Yes, these wolves ate some of the chicken carcasses after the guys were done barbecuing them in the mid-30s. All right, so nothing to see here. Just a pit full of tar. Dan?
1:14:02
Hi.
1:14:03
Adam
You're 14.
1:14:04
Caller
Yeah.
1:14:04
Adam
Now you've had dreams about killing your girlfriend.
1:14:08
Yeah.
1:14:08
Adam
Your ex-girlfriend.
1:14:10
Yeah.
1:14:10
Adam
How long have you kids been broken up?
1:14:12
A couple weeks now.
1:14:13
Adam
I see. And she dumped you?
1:14:15
Yeah.
1:14:16
Adam
And when you say dreams of killing her, what do you mean? I mean in your sleep or is it a fantasy?
1:14:22
Drew
Or do you have a plan?
1:14:23
No, when I'm sleeping.
1:14:25
Adam
When you're sleeping? And when you wake up, how do you feel?
1:14:29
Uh, kind of scared but mad.
1:14:32
Drew
Alright, but you don't have any plan to carry these things out, right?
1:14:36
No.
1:14:36
Drew
And you've had a previous history of violent behavior?
1:14:39
What?
1:14:39
Adam
You ever been violent with somebody?
1:14:42
Yeah.
1:14:42
Adam
Like who?
1:14:43
Uh, some kids from school sometimes.
1:14:47
Adam
You've gotten into some fights?
1:14:48
Yeah.
1:14:49
Adam
Ever been violent?
1:14:50
Drew
I'm getting a little bit of a sense here, Adam.
1:14:52
Adam
Like BS?
1:14:53
Drew
Yes.
1:14:54
Adam
Yeah, I don't believe me either. You ever been violent toward a woman?
1:14:58
Guest
No.
1:14:59
Drew
There's a mason jar in this one. There it is.
1:15:02
Adam
I knew there was something. Yeah.
1:15:05
Drew
Why don't we believe him? The feeling wasn't there. He just, too vague. Too vague.
1:15:12
Adam
He seemed like distracted or something. Yeah.
1:15:15
Drew
He was making stuff up as he went. Have you ever been violent before? Yeah, to some people. Like, what do you mean?
1:15:20
Adam
Yeah. I mean, you hate to gloss over ones where you have a, you know, 14 year old who's potentially-
1:15:26
Drew
No, that was bogus.
1:15:27
Adam
Wanting to- No, I know. I know. But the point is, is if he was saying he got us a nuts caught in a Cuisinart, we would have been on him faster. The point is-
1:15:36
Drew
You mean in terms of the bogosity. Yeah.
1:15:38
Adam
Yeah. You're dealing with a, you know, potentially life-threatening situation here, and you don't want to be so quick to judge.
1:15:46
Drew
Right.
1:15:47
Adam
You know what I'm saying? You have to take the-
1:15:48
Drew
That's why it took us 24 seconds.
1:15:50
Adam
But, you know, it's funny that we both started to come on to it at the same time, and yet there wasn't anything overt about the bogosity there.
1:15:58
Drew
It's just the feeling, just the gut.
1:15:59
Adam
Yeah. That is so, that is so weird. And it's, you know, people talk about radio, and they're like, how can you make judgments, or how can you advise people, or how can you talk to people that you don't even see? But it's better. Your senses are more acute. If this guy was standing in front of us, we wouldn't have got the vibe as fast.
1:16:18
Drew
Right. That's true.
1:16:19
Adam
Michelle?
1:16:20
Yeah.
1:16:21
Adam
Although, I would have kicked him in the nuts. Son of a bitch. Michelle, you're 19. What's up?
1:16:28
Caller
Nothing. Okay, here's the deal. I'm, yeah, I'm 19, and I haven't ever had, like, a really substantial relationship, and...
1:16:37
Drew
Good. No, it's healthy.
1:16:39
Caller
Because I'm horny, and I want to be with a guy. I want something that's serious and, you know, considerably long-term, but every time I get the opportunity and I'm attracted to him, I get... I don't know, I just don't let it happen, you know?
1:16:56
Drew
I actually think that's protective. I think that's good. At 19, it's not always healthy to be in a very long-term, intense relationship.
1:17:01
Adam
Yeah, but she hasn't had anything.
1:17:03
Drew
Yeah, but she's not ready for it yet.
1:17:04
Caller
Well, no, like, I've had boyfriends, but it hasn't ever been really serious.
1:17:07
Adam
Have you had sex?
1:17:08
Caller
No.
1:17:10
Adam
All right, well...
1:17:10
Drew
She's not ready.
1:17:10
Adam
Okay, well, slow down there, Drew, and stop projecting for your daughter. Let me just check a few things off the list before we label you same. Is your dad okay?
1:17:23
Caller
Yes.
1:17:24
Adam
Did he ever lose anything growing up? People die tragically, anything like that?
1:17:29
Caller
Not really. I mean, like, I don't have the most functional family background, but I mean, everything's... I mean, well, my parents got divorced when I was like 11.
1:17:40
Adam
Yeah.
1:17:40
Caller
And then my mom remarried, and he and my stepdad died five years ago. But I wasn't really that close to him.
1:17:48
Adam
Yeah. But you've had two males basically in your life so far that have left.
1:17:54
Caller
Well, I mean, even though, like, I see my dad on a daily basis...
1:17:57
Adam
But you do see him on a daily basis.
1:18:00
Caller
Well, I mean, we have a good relationship.
1:18:02
Adam
Did you see him on a daily basis when he left when you were 11?
1:18:05
Caller
Oh, well, he didn't leave. They just got divorced.
1:18:08
Adam
Oh, oh, I see. Just divorced. I see. Yeah.
1:18:11
Caller
Well, no, I...
1:18:12
Drew
What made you think she left?
1:18:13
Adam
No, I know. My folks did that, too.
1:18:14
Drew
How dare you?
1:18:15
Adam
Yeah. They draw that line down the center of the sofa. That's your side. That's my side.
1:18:20
Caller
We're divorced.
1:18:21
Adam
We put the masking tape down the middle of the house.
1:18:23
Guest
The table in between the beds like Lucy and Ricky.
1:18:25
Adam
Sure. I think the temerity of suggesting someone left just because I got divorced. All right. Let's...
1:18:32
Drew
She has reason to have some energy around guys, but you know what I mean? But that may be helping her not get in a relationship, but it's not going to put a kibosh on her.
1:18:39
Adam
Well, hold on. I'd like to get to the bottom of this. Your dad did move out when I got divorced, right?
1:18:44
Caller
Yes, but I'm just wanting to clarify. It's not like he abandoned my family or anything.
1:18:48
Adam
No, but he had to leave.
1:18:50
Caller
Yeah.
1:18:50
Adam
I'm in the house. And you guys then saw each other. You had like joint custody.
1:18:54
Caller
Right.
1:18:55
Adam
My mom had joint custody. She also had custody of a bong, too. She sat around and smoked weed when my dad divorced her. That was her joint custody. Write that down, Drew. Remind me to tell that to her next time I see her.
1:19:10
Drew
That's called bong custody, I believe. Bong and joint.
1:19:13
Adam
Joint bong custody. My dad got custody of some bad flares and some platform shoes. All right. So your dad moved out, but you guys saw each other.
1:19:24
Caller
Oh, yeah.
1:19:25
Adam
Okay.
1:19:26
Caller
Yeah, definitely.
1:19:27
Adam
Well, the divorce and then the stepdad dying could be a little something.
1:19:33
Drew
Yeah, give her some energy. But again, it's not so unhealthy.
1:19:37
Guest
You just haven't met the right guy yet.
1:19:38
Drew
That's right.
1:19:40
Caller
Yeah, that's what everyone says. But I don't know. I just need to figure out how to, like, stick with it, because when I have the opportunity and there's like, you know, how you have energy when you meet somebody and you know that, you know, things could work out and it's exciting and whatever, blah, blah. But then I just like I get scared and I don't like force myself to, you know, like, be with the person and get to know them so that we can get over, like, you know, the weird stages at the beginning so that we can...
1:20:09
Adam
All right, baby. Now I'm getting weirded out. Listen, next time you were the guy, and this is for everyone in every relationship, you know what your tendencies, you know what your weaknesses are, you know what your pattern is. So keep an eye on yourself, like you're watching yourself from some bank camera, and when it gets to that point in the relationship where you find yourself doing the things you inevitably do in every relationship you've ever had, try to get outside yourself, watch yourself, stop yourself, and realize what you're doing instead of just going on autopilot. It's hard to do at 19, but she's calling, she realizes what she does. When she gets to that stage, stop and keep going.
1:20:49
Guest
And also learn to enjoy that beginning, scary, nervous, weird part, because it's always like a great part of the relationship. If you can, just step back and try to make a good time out of it.
1:20:57
Adam
I call that the non-farting period.
1:21:00
Guest
That's exactly what it is. That's really all it is.
1:21:02
Adam
That's the NFP. It's the non-farting period. That lasts about three days.
1:21:07
Drew
We call it the painful non-farting period.
1:21:10
Adam
That's the painful non-farting period of the relationship.
1:21:12
Guest
But Bonnie and I have made a pact that we're not going to have those periods in relationships anymore. Right.
1:21:17
Adam
We go right to the gas.
1:21:17
Caller
Right to the farting right away.
1:21:19
Adam
Good time.
1:21:19
Guest
And also don't be too hard on yourself about it. I mean, you are 19. You have so many years of toads to kiss before you meet your prince, so.
1:21:29
Adam
That's right.
1:21:30
Drew
Adam, I think Lindsay likes the Man Show.
1:21:32
Adam
Yeah. Boy, that was Bonnie.
1:21:34
Drew
Oh, Bonnie. Yeah. No, no, no. Lindsay was the one that made the fart comment.
1:21:38
Caller
Yeah, I made the fart comment.
1:21:40
Guest
Lindsay should be on the Man Show. We talk about many things.
1:21:44
Adam
You like gas?
1:21:46
Guest
People have it. I just think it's wrong for people to deny that they have it.
1:21:50
Guest
We were just talking about ass blowout about five minutes ago.
1:21:53
Drew
So that's as a band once said to me this many years ago, these bands that comes come and gone over there. So what is not funny about it? Comes out of your ass. It smells funny.
1:22:01
Caller
It's funny.
1:22:02
Caller
I still laugh every time.
1:22:03
Guest
I'm like a child every time I hear a smell fart.
1:22:07
Adam
Yeah.
1:22:08
Drew
This is your dream woman.
1:22:09
Adam
Yeah. But, you know, I got to tell you. And this is, I mean this, no offense to Lindsay, but part of the satisfaction I get from farting on someone is the reaction.
1:22:19
Guest
Is the offense that it causes in women?
1:22:22
Guest
Farting on someone. Does that mean that you tickle a girl and hold her down and fart on her head?
1:22:27
Adam
Not necessarily on her head, but near her head, theoretically.
1:22:33
Drew
It's so sick, but I have to agree with you.
1:22:35
Guest
So without that shocking guffaw, it's not a grill for you?
1:22:39
Drew
Something gratifying about that disgust.
1:22:42
Adam
Yes, let me just share this with you very quickly. My other partner, Jimmy Kimmel from The Man Show, loves farting. I mean, that's one of his number. Above his, he has two kids. He likes farting more than his kids. That's his number one joy in life. And there's a guy by the name of Don Baris, a big husky bald guy who hangs out with us at times, who has a comical reaction, a bizarre, you know, almost like a, like from the Three, like a Three Stooges type reaction whenever Jimmy breaks when him. He yells, he runs in circles, he's nauseated, he can't believe it. And Jimmy is so delighted to see Don's huge reaction that we both realize that we now try to fart more around Don because of his great, like, vaudevillian type reaction. You see? And if you have a guy-
1:23:31
Guest
Don't get me wrong, sometimes I find it highly offensive.
1:23:34
Adam
Oh, good, good.
1:23:34
Guest
Mostly when it's in the car, in an enclosed area where there's nowhere for me to go.
1:23:39
Caller
But if we're in an open area-
1:23:41
Guest
And then you try to, we try to put it off on someone else.
1:23:44
Drew
Lindsay, slow down. Adam's getting a little excited here.
1:23:46
Caller
Yeah.
1:23:47
Guest
Slow down.
1:23:47
Adam
Oh, my God. I'll tell you, I took a van ride with Jimmy and eight guys two nights ago, and it drew, drew.
1:23:53
Drew
Oh, my God.
1:23:54
Adam
It was devastation. Just pure, pure. I'd like to-
1:23:58
Guest
Could it be a medical problem with Jimmy?
1:24:00
Caller
Like, does he need some help?
1:24:01
Adam
His dad was a world-class gas man, and unfortunately, Jimmy has the same thing. He claims his dad was that one. Drew, you're a doctor. All right. Well, anyway.
1:24:13
Drew
Yes, it is heritable. The bacteria that colonize the colon, that create the methane, can be a familial tract.
1:24:18
Adam
It is. OK, good. Good.
1:24:21
Drew
And my daughter's kind of got it. I'm counting on it, protecting her from guys. If I had it, it might sort of really, it might attract them.
1:24:29
Adam
Yeah, and God willing, Jimmy's son, Kevin, has it. Pablo, we can only keep our fingers crossed. He's too young right now to know. Pablo, you're 16. No, boy.
1:24:39
Caller
You're a really great comedian.
1:24:41
Adam
Yes, thank you.
1:24:42
Caller
And my girlfriend. Yeah. My girlfriend.
1:24:47
Drew
Pablo, give it up.
1:24:48
Adam
Yeah.
1:24:48
Caller
All right. She cuts herself on the wrists a lot and cuts herself all over the body. And during sex recently, she's been biting on my arm really hard and drawing blood.
1:24:57
Adam
Hold on, hold on. Drew, do you not believe him?
1:25:00
Drew
No, no, no. I got a little better there. I'm going with it this time. It's just his attitude.
1:25:04
Guest
Maybe he was nervous.
1:25:05
Adam
What's around that vibe, too? All right, keep going, Pablo. She bites on your arm.
1:25:09
Caller
And then I tell her to stop. You know, you're hurting me. She still just keeps going. And I really don't know where this behavior is coming from because...
1:25:17
Adam
Now I'm back in bogus. Back to bogus.
1:25:20
Drew
Yeah. It was too well thought out to not understand where it was coming from, in spite of giving us all the right detail. That didn't work.
1:25:28
Adam
All right, Pablo, we don't believe you.
1:25:30
Caller
What you guys look for usually is...
1:25:32
Drew
Mason jar.
1:25:33
Caller
But for some reason, I haven't noticed any of that in her.
1:25:36
Adam
Pablo, Pablo. Hold on, we don't believe you. Let's address that for a second. All right.
1:25:41
Caller
All right. I'm sorry, because I'm really nervous. This is my very first time calling.
1:25:45
Adam
Drew. Stay with him. All right.
1:25:49
Drew
So what was it? What was it you haven't found with her?
1:25:51
Caller
What? I just, I haven't found any problems with her family. You know, she's got a loving family. I've never seen any depression in her or anything.
1:25:58
Drew
She's a cutter.
1:25:59
Caller
Yeah.
1:26:00
Drew
And yet this loving family has never taken her to psychiatrist.
1:26:03
Caller
I don't know. I've been with her for three and a half years.
1:26:06
Drew
It's not fitting. It doesn't fit.
1:26:08
Adam
How long? How long have you been with her?
1:26:09
Caller
Three and a half weeks.
1:26:11
Adam
Three and a half weeks. How old is she?
1:26:13
Caller
Well, she's 15 and a half.
1:26:15
Adam
How tall is she?
1:26:16
Caller
She's like 5'5.
1:26:18
Caller
How much does she weigh?
1:26:19
Caller
You're already having sex with her. She weighs like 135, I think.
1:26:26
Drew
You're already having sex with her after three weeks and she's 15. She's a cutter. And you've already after three weeks had sex and done a full interview to see whether or not there's any family issues.
1:26:36
Adam
Oh, boy. If this is true, and I don't really believe it.
1:26:40
Drew
I don't either.
1:26:41
Adam
But if it's true, and there's people out there who cut on themselves, you have to contain them. I mean, if you're having sex with somebody who wants to be whipped, don't whip them.
1:26:52
Drew
If she's biting and cutting, she needs help. That's a sign of a very serious psychiatric problem. And if she doesn't have caretakers, you need to help her get to one.
1:27:00
Adam
All right. Bonnie and Lindsay are both here from Gross Point. WB Sunday Nights at 930. Drew?
1:27:07
Drew
Yeah.
1:27:08
Adam
You holding up OK over there in St. Louis?
1:27:09
Drew
I'm great. St. Louis is a wonderful town.
1:27:12
Adam
Beautiful, beautiful. Mark L. Wahlberg, the host of Temptation Island, will be in a little bit later this week. Also, Bob Guccione Jr. to apologize for his whole AIDS isn't caused by HIV allegations that he made five years ago in one of his magazines.
1:27:30
Drew
Drove me insane.
1:27:31
Adam
That's right. Well, why don't you confront him when you see him?
1:27:34
Drew
Oh, we did it last time and he was very elusive. We'll try it again.
1:27:37
Adam
All right. And Bob's on here what? Doing what, Ann? Looking for the perfect woman. Really? Oh, is it for Perfect 10 magazine or for Gear magazine? All right. Fantastic. You think he's going to find the perfect woman here? Is that his plan? All right. Let's see if we can work that out. I have three of the most perfect women ever born in the next room.
1:28:00
Guest
He might have tonight.
1:28:02
Adam
They're looking to shower me with praise. But listen here, ladies.
1:28:05
Guest
They just started bouncing.
1:28:07
Adam
You got to simmer down a little because when Anderson says 30 seconds, that means I got to get back to the studio and do the show, right? Anderson, give that 30 second call about five minutes before I need to be back in the studio, right? All right. We'll take a break. We'll be back.
1:28:25
Guest
Love Lines with Adam Carolla and Dr. Drew.
1:28:40
Caller
You're listening to Loveline on Outrageous Talk Radio. 100.7 The Buzz.
1:28:57
Adam
Yep, it is Loveline. I'm Adam Corolla, that is Dr. Drew over there. Bonnie Somerville and Lindsay Sloane are all here from Gross Point Sunday Nights.
1:29:08
Caller
What's that?
1:29:09
Adam
On the wwwwb.
1:29:11
Caller
The Dancing Frog Network.
1:29:13
Adam
That's right, 9.30. Yes, Drew, yes.
1:29:15
Drew
Can I use, you know that tape you have from Primate Theater, The History of Man, where you got the monkeys lighting their farts on fire?
1:29:22
Adam
Yeah, I forgot about that, yeah.
1:29:23
Drew
Can I use that at the Metta from Mars, the Metta from Venus show?
1:29:27
Adam
You want to show it?
1:29:28
Drew
I want to show it.
1:29:29
Adam
Yeah, I don't see a problem with that.
1:29:31
Guest
I've actually seen that and experienced that in person.
1:29:35
Drew
Because, oh, Adam will do it for you if you wish. But to me, it's such a defining sort of element between male and female senses of humor. And men laugh till they cry at that. Women just don't get it.
1:29:49
Guest
I never laughed as hard in my life as I did the night that I saw a guy light his fart and almost burn his head off. Really?
1:29:56
Caller
His head?
1:29:57
Guest
Literally, it was like a dragon. It was like a blue dragon almost in slow motion that came up out of his crotch up to his head. And it was almost like, no. And as he leaned back, I never laughed so hard.
1:30:08
Adam
That's great.
1:30:09
Guest
Because I didn't think it could be done.
1:30:10
Adam
Oh, yes.
1:30:11
Guest
And I didn't believe him.
1:30:12
Drew
Come on, Adam.
1:30:13
Adam
Let me tell you something. I had my roommate, the Weez, light a cigarette off of a fart.
1:30:19
Guest
No.
1:30:20
Adam
Yes.
1:30:20
Caller
That's awesome.
1:30:21
Drew
One of yours, yes?
1:30:23
Caller
Yes.
1:30:23
Adam
Impressed, ladies?
1:30:25
Caller
Where's the Weez right now?
1:30:26
Caller
We'll see.
1:30:27
Adam
He's spoken for the Weez, but he's quite a gentleman.
1:30:30
Drew
Careful. You might be giving them too much information.
1:30:32
Adam
Yeah.
1:30:33
Guest
Are you the Weez?
1:30:34
Adam
No. Hey, hey, Drew, listen, if you want that tape, you're just calling around the Man Show, right?
1:30:40
Drew
All right. I'll get it.
1:30:41
Adam
Can you figure that out?
1:30:42
Drew
I can figure that out.
1:30:43
Adam
All right, there, buddy. Let's talk to Ben, who's... Were we going to talk to Ben? I didn't have anything sold, did I?
1:30:49
Drew
No.
1:30:50
Adam
Ben, you're 15. What's up?
1:30:51
Drew
That's the sixth way I was going for it there.
1:30:52
Caller
What's up, guys?
1:30:53
Adam
Let's see if we can move forward here. You slept with... You slept over at your friend's house and made... You made sexual references toward... Oh, he came on to you? Your friend did?
1:31:04
Caller
Yeah, basically.
1:31:05
Drew
How old is he, your friend?
1:31:07
Caller
Same age, 15.
1:31:08
Drew
And what did he do, exactly?
1:31:09
Caller
We were kind of... Oh, he was lying in his bed and I was lying down on the floor and he was just like... Do you ever think about getting with a guy?
1:31:16
Caller
Do you ever think about touching a guy?
1:31:19
Drew
Why does everything sound bogus to me tonight? Everything.
1:31:21
Adam
I don't know because every 15-year-old jack off in the United States is calling the show tonight.
1:31:27
Guest
We're the Grosse Pointe fans.
1:31:29
Drew
That was a fake call.
1:31:30
Guest
That does happen.
1:31:32
Adam
It does happen.
1:31:33
Drew
It does, but he wouldn't be so flipping about it.
1:31:36
Adam
You listen. You tell him you don't want to do it, just like pretend you're a vegetarian, okay? And you go out to eat and some guy wants to take a bite of a steak. You tell him you don't do it. That's what you do. His penis is the kielbasa. You're a vegetarian. There you go.
1:31:52
Drew
We're going for some female callers now because women don't, they aren't jack offs. You know what I mean? Women don't F around.
1:31:58
Adam
I know. Donna, I know they don't have a sense of humor. Donna, you're 24. I can agree more. What's up there, Donna?
1:32:04
Caller
Well, I met this guy in a bar a couple of weeks ago and we ended up going back to my house and having sex. Then I found out later that he had a girlfriend for six years. I ended up, he had left a jacket or something over here. Then I took it back to him and I basically blew him off, just kind of like forgot about him and like, I mean, I didn't really like want to make any kind of ties or anything with him. Right. I saw him again a couple of weeks after that and he acted like a complete a-hole to me. And I was just wondering if I, I mean, should I take like the vengeful drought and Well, Donna, you went to a bar and picked a guy up and had sex with him.
1:32:53
Drew
What exactly did you expect to marry the guy?
1:32:56
Caller
No, no, no, I didn't at all. Okay.
1:32:58
Drew
And so he had sex and he went his own way and now you're a threat to him because he has a relationship. And so naturally now he's going to want to push you away. What is there to be vengeful about?
1:33:07
Caller
Oh, I just didn't, I don't know. I just thought that he would be cool with me rather than well, I just want you to realize the consequences of your choices.
1:33:15
Drew
I don't want you to feel, I don't want to blame you for it. But I mean, that would be a sort of what do you expect?
1:33:21
Adam
This is pretty typical stuff.
1:33:22
Drew
Yeah.
1:33:23
Adam
I mean, he has a long term relationship. He's probably trying to pretend like he doesn't know you when he sees you.
1:33:29
Drew
Exactly, exactly.
1:33:30
Adam
Just like Drew did for many years with his mistress.
1:33:33
Drew
I'm with you Adam.
1:33:34
Adam
I am me. And Donna, that's what's going on here. Yeah. All right. So it seems like you have feelings for the guy. Otherwise, you wouldn't want to exact your revenge on him.
1:33:44
Drew
Yeah. The lesson here is don't go to bars and pick up guys and expect anything other than a one night stand and maybe one of the stands aren't what you want.
1:33:51
Adam
Right. All right. So just find another guy.
1:33:54
Drew
Not at a bar.
1:33:55
Adam
Don't sleep with him the first night. That's all. I mean, this guy's got a relationship. You know.
1:34:00
Caller
Yeah. Well, I mean, I wasn't wanting a relationship or anything like that.
1:34:03
Adam
Well, yes, you were.
1:34:05
Drew
Yes, you were.
1:34:06
Caller
No, I mean, I knew that he had a girlfriend and everything.
1:34:09
Adam
And I was like, okay, then what do you expect then? He has a long term. What are you expecting then? You don't want a relationship. What do you want?
1:34:16
Caller
I don't know. I just wanted to be, I guess, treated like with some kind of like respect or something.
1:34:22
Adam
What do you mean? I mean, where do you see him again?
1:34:24
Caller
Well, I went. I was invited to a party, actually, that he was there at.
1:34:29
Drew
Yeah, probably his girlfriend was there, too.
1:34:32
Caller
I have no idea.
1:34:33
Drew
You're very threatening to him.
1:34:34
Adam
Of course she was there and he was scared assless and pretending like he didn't know you.
1:34:38
Drew
Yeah.
1:34:39
Adam
All right.
1:34:39
Guest
Play hard to get if you want some respect.
1:34:41
Adam
And you said you went over to his house after he slept over?
1:34:44
Caller
No, no, I just I dropped his stuff off at work and because he left something here and I probably freaked out.
1:34:51
Adam
Hey, baby.
1:34:52
Caller
Yeah.
1:34:53
Adam
Listen, the only the only problem with this whole thing is you not admitting that you want a relationship or even, you know, are hurt that this guy did this. That's what's going on.
1:35:03
Caller
I mean, I think I mean, I thought in terms of like, well, if that was me, I wouldn't want my boyfriend to do that to me. You know, I I do.
1:35:12
Adam
So what are you going to do? Fix every guy now?
1:35:15
Caller
No.
1:35:16
Drew
Exact her revenge on her behalf?
1:35:18
Caller
No.
1:35:19
Drew
All right.
1:35:19
Adam
Here's all I'm saying. Here's listen, everybody. Everyone does something under some sort of righteous umbrella that is the ass and it drives me nuts. I've heard people say stuff like, you know, any guy who leaves his car window open in a public parking lot deserves to have his stereo ripped up. You know, that kind of stuff. That's nonsense. No one deserves anything. You understand? You don't have to fix anybody. You're hurt that this person was not interested in you, that they had a one night little liaison and then they went their own way. And now you've rationalized it. You're going to help him. You're going to fix her. You're going to do whatever you deserve this. Please be honest with yourself, everyone, and do question your motives and then stop and question them again, please.
1:36:06
Drew
Thank you.
1:36:06
Adam
All right. I'm going to go shoot up Jack off and nail some underage chicks.
1:36:09
Drew
We'll be back.
1:36:28
Adam
All right. That's it. Hey, Drew.
1:36:31
Drew
Hey, I'm going to get the monkey farting lighting tape from you.
1:36:35
Adam
Call me at the office tomorrow there, buddy boy.
1:36:36
Caller
Wait, is it literally a monkey farting? Yes.
1:36:40
Adam
Yes.
1:36:41
Caller
Have you seen the one with the monkey that sticks his finger up his ass and then smells it and falls off the tree? Yes. That's hysterical. Thank God, the internet.
1:36:49
Drew
This is way funnier, way funnier.
1:36:51
Caller
I'll have to get a copy of that tape then.
1:36:53
Adam
All right. Gros Point, everyone. Sunday night, 9.30, WB.
1:36:57
Guest
Right into the WB, people.
1:36:59
Adam
That's right. We will just go on the WB website and find out about Gros Point and how you can be on the show and all that good stuff. Thanks a lot for coming in, you guys.
1:37:08
Caller
Thank you for having us.
1:37:09
Adam
We do appreciate it. Drew, we'll see you tomorrow night.
1:37:12
Caller
Bye, Dr. Drew. Bye.
1:37:13
Adam
In the flesh. Until next time, this is Adam Corolla for Dr. Drew and his three lovely young fans saying mahalo.
