This is McBurnet, Nolte Audience.
1:01
Drew
Go on, Dad.
1:03
Voiceover
Listener discretion is advised. Adam Corolla and Dr. Drew. Loveline, coast to coast.
1:14
Voiceover
Hey, everybody, it's Loveline. I'm Adam Corolla. That's Dr. Drew over there. Phone number 1-800-LOVE-191. Dr. Drew, board certified internist, addiction medicine specialist. Tonight, Tim Fluckey, Mark Chavez, and Mike Ransom. Oh, does it Ransom? Yes, that's right. All here from Adema. We've been playing your song on our breakers. What are those called, Drew?
1:42
Drew
Bumpers.
1:43
Adam
Bumpers, on our bumpers. So we're very familiar with your work.
1:49
Drew
We're very familiar with about 15 to 20 seconds of your work, of several songs.
1:53
Right, right, right.
1:55
Adam
And Adema, Drew, that means something medically?
1:59
Drew
Adema, E-D-E-M-A is swelling.
2:00
Adam
Oh, it's different?
2:01
Drew
Yeah.
2:02
Adema
We changed the spelling.
2:03
Adam
You got to start reading. What's with the E? What does that mean?
2:07
Drew
They changed the spelling. What does that mean?
2:09
Adam
No, well, what does it mean?
2:09
Drew
Oh, it's swelling. It's tissue, soft tissue fluid. Just swelling.
2:12
Adam
And what's Adema mean?
2:15
Adema
Nothing.
2:15
Adema
Yeah, it means it means absolutely nothing. Just just a name to represent the five of us and in our band.
2:21
Adema
Nothing.
2:22
Adam
Really? That's good.
2:23
Adema
That's better with an A on the end, I guess.
2:25
Adam
Yeah, that was bold. And you guys are all from, everyone from Bakersfield?
2:30
Adema
Yeah, we're all from Bakersfield.
2:32
Adam
Yep. Are you out yet?
2:34
Adema
I mean, yeah, definitely out of there. Yeah, I was lucky enough to experience that this last summer. It's like 110 degrees there every day. So I was excited to be out of there.
2:45
Drew
Have you heard how Adam Disparage is your hometown?
2:47
Adema
Oh, he doesn't really like to Bakersfield?
2:49
Drew
No.
2:50
Adema
You've never heard him speak at Bakersfield? We've heard.
2:52
Adam
We've heard.
2:52
Adema
It's the kind of town you just keep driving through.
2:55
Adam
And don't even roll the windows down.
2:57
That's right.
2:58
Adam
And if a cop tries to pull you over, just keep going till you get to Mammoth. It'll be safer. It's safer. Yeah, well, no, but I have said Riverside is worse than Bakersfield, haven't I? No. Oh, is it the other way around?
3:12
Drew
You've acquainted the two, yes.
3:13
Oh, all right. I'm sorry, fellas.
3:14
Adema
That's a coarse tie right there.
3:15
Adam
But that's all right. I come from North Hollywood and that sucks, and I speak openly about the suckitude of North Hollywood. I think it's refreshing when people beat up their hometown. Now, somebody is Jonathan from Korn's half-brother. Who is that? Mark?
3:33
Adema
Yeah, that's my older brother.
3:35
Adam
Same mom?
3:36
Adema
Yeah, same mother.
3:37
Drew
That is interesting.
3:38
Adam
Was she in a band?
3:40
Adema
Actually, she did sing in bars and stuff when she was about 20 to 23. She'd sing and stuff and do stuff like that. She was more into Broadway plays and stuff like that. She was into theatrical stuff.
3:52
Adam
But you think it's her musical influence that sent you guys down this path or just being pissed off about living in Bakersfield that really?
3:59
Adema
I think maybe that was half of it. Other than that, I think it was just a lot of records playing in the house, just different things going on and that was kind of our way to hang out as a family. We'd hang out, listen to different music and stuff.
4:11
Drew
And to get your gun, Oklahoma.
4:14
Adam
So now, did Jonathan help you at all?
4:18
Adema
Actually no, that was one of the focus for this band was not to use that as like a stepping stone or anything.
4:27
Drew
Did you grow up with him?
4:28
Adema
Yeah, yeah, we grew up together but you know there's eight years difference. So, you know, he was living with his father and I was living with my mom. So there was a lot of time that wasn't spent there. But you know, we basically, we got our band together. You know, we've been doing music a long time, everyone in Adema as well as Korn. I think just good music comes out of the city and stuff and just kind of happened naturally.
4:52
Adam
It is, it's scary but Bakersfield has kind of a music scene. I mean, not the city, but it's putting musicians out.
5:02
Adema
Yeah, there's really nothing to do there. So, you know, people form bands or gangs or, you know, whatever. That's kind of like the thing there.
5:09
Adam
Gangs, just a band without a guitar, if you really think about it. All right. So Adema is here. I'll give you some of the dates. They're going to be at the Palladium tomorrow night, by the way, Friday night out here in Los Angeles and then in Vegas, Salt Lake City, Kansas City, Lincoln, Nebraska, I'm guessing, Wichita. Oh my God, you guys are on a serious tour. And are you busing it everywhere?
5:35
Adema
Yeah. Yeah.
5:36
Drew
Good times.
5:37
Adam
That's good. In case some, unless some crazy croat slit someone's throat and drives everyone into a drainage ditch. Did you hear about this?
5:45
Drew
What?
5:46
Adam
Some guy on a Greyhound bus just slit the driver's throat and took everybody off the road. It had nothing to do. It wasn't a terrorist act.
5:56
It was just he just flipped out some crazy guy.
5:58
Adam
Yeah. But you know, it's kind of a weird time we're living in because you hear the story about the guy who slits the throat of the Greyhound bus driver and kills six people and you go, Oh, Christ, another terrorist attack. And then it's then it turns out he's just crazy.
6:12
Adema
And you're like, Oh, that's quite safe again.
6:18
Adam
We all breathe a sigh of relief. We're back to being murdered by our own. Thank goodness we can all relax now. We'll be killed by our own blood out there on the highway. All right. So we'll hear something off the new CD entitled Adema and give you some more tour dates and all that. That may be one of the ones we're going to hear tonight. Hey Will, you're 22?
6:40
Caller
Yeah.
6:41
Adam
What's up?
6:42
Caller
Well first of all, Adam Corolla, you're the man.
6:44
Adam
I'm thanks.
6:44
Dr. Drew.
6:46
Great.
6:47
Drew
What's up, Adema?
6:48
Caller
I love your music.
6:49
Adema
Thank you guys.
6:50
Caller
That's cool. Yeah. Um, I can, see I can air through my ass. And.
6:59
Adam
Apparently the authorities have found out about this.
7:03
What was that?
7:05
Adam
You can suck air in.
7:06
Caller
Yeah. And I can blow it out. I can like fart like as loud as I can. Like as loud as anyone. Yeah.
7:11
Adema
In through your butt. You can suck it in through your butt.
7:15
Drew
Do you practice that?
7:15
Caller
I'm on the roof.
7:16
Drew
You're on the roof.
7:17
Caller
On the roof.
7:18
Adam
I see.
7:19
Drew
They're on to you, Will.
7:20
What?
7:22
Caller
I'm like in my girlfriend's house and her parents won't know I'm here.
7:25
Adam
I see. They live in a nice neighborhood, huh?
7:27
Caller
Um, no, that was ambulances.
7:29
Oh, I see.
7:30
Adam
Okay. Well, that's cool then. Someone's just dead.
7:32
Caller
But anyway, yeah, I can hear it through my ass.
7:34
Adam
Right. Let me ask, we've talked to people about this before and one question I always forget to ask is, if your head was underwater, could you breathe through your ass? Will it work as a sort of snorkel or asshole as it were?
7:52
Caller
I don't know, I think it works that way, but.
7:54
Adam
Well, try it. Put your head in like a kiddie pool and stick your ass up in the air and see if you can stay there for like 10, 20 minutes. Drew, wouldn't that be great?
8:03
Drew
I just think like a whale.
8:05
Adam
Well, if you can suck air in.
8:06
Drew
Why not? Blow.
8:08
Caller
Okay.
8:10
Drew
All right, so what's...
8:11
Caller
I'll say my abilities if you really want me to.
8:13
Adam
Oh, would you like to demonstrate?
8:14
Caller
If you want me to.
8:15
Adam
Well, we twisted your arm, didn't we, Will?
8:18
Caller
You want me to.
8:19
Adam
All right, we'll do it, but here's the deal. I want to hear the air going in as well so I know it's not at hearts.
8:24
Caller
I gotta get in my position. Hold on a second.
8:27
Adam
All right. On the roof.
8:51
Adema
That's not like a bunch of farts, dude.
8:53
Adam
Yeah, I give it a four. Wow, that was huge. Huge.
9:01
Adema
When did you find out you knew this talent?
9:03
Caller
When I was little, I was looking under my couch for some change, and all of a sudden, the air just rushed right in my ass, and it freaked me out, and I was like, what the hell? And then when I got up, I just felt like I had a fart, and the thing was like monsters, it was like ten seconds long, it was sick.
9:20
Adema
Is that like a quiff or something?
9:22
Adam
Yeah, Drew, how does that work? How come some people can do that? No, but I mean, why is this limited to such a select few in our population?
9:33
Drew
Why is there only one Sammy Sosa?
9:36
Adam
I guess you're right. Drew is right.
9:39
Drew
Barry Bonds, come on.
9:40
Sammy Sosa can do that?
9:41
Drew
There are only so many guys.
9:43
Adam
I think that's what Drew is saying. Hey, Will. So was that all on the way?
9:50
Is that all on the way out or did we hear some on the way in?
9:54
Caller
I saw some men. I can do it so loud.
9:55
Drew
I'll wake up every night. You heard both.
9:58
Adam
They must be delighted.
9:59
Caller
I mean, if you want, I can go on the very edge of the roof and just let one huge one out if you want me to.
10:04
Adam
Yeah, I'd like that. I think I would, yeah. Is he on the roof of a single family home? Maybe.
10:11
Caller
Yeah, I'm on the roof of, her parents know that I'm dating her and everything.
10:17
Adam
Right.
10:18
Caller
But they don't know that I come up at night sometimes just to be with her, and she's still going to school and everything.
10:24
Adam
Right.
10:25
Drew
Where is she right now?
10:27
Caller
She's in the, she has like a double room and she's in the other room.
10:29
Drew
She's in the other room. She's not, she's not the part to be holding the video.
10:34
Adema
The talent.
10:35
Adam
Is this what attracted her to you or?
10:37
Caller
Oh, no. She didn't know about this for, you know, until like about four months in the relationship, and she, she thinks it's pretty cool.
10:44
Adam
That is, that is, that is.
10:45
Adema
She's just so used to it that she's inside the house and you're just on the roof.
10:49
Yeah.
10:50
Adema
As normal. Status quo on the roof.
10:52
Adam
All right. Give us one more, Will. All right.
10:54
Caller
You want to hear the tuck in and everything? Yeah.
10:56
Adam
I'd like to hear the whole process. All right.
10:57
Caller
Hold on a second here, guys.
10:58
Adam
Thank you.
11:23
Oh, boy.
11:25
You know, you know, the funny thing is...
11:27
Adam
This is wonderful. I like to fast forward to tomorrow morning when dad's on the phone going, Yeah, Bert, I'm running a little bit late. I'll be in the office. Holy Christ. What the hell happened to this phone? It has fecal matter on it. Yeah.
11:46
Adema
Does anything come out when you do that?
11:49
Adam
His soul, I think. Let's just... Let me get Will back on here. Hey, Will?
11:54
Caller
Yeah.
11:55
Adam
It's just air, right? I mean...
11:57
Caller
It's basically all air, yeah.
11:59
Adam
Right. It's like a wind douche for guys. I'm jealous. As a guy who farts conventionally, and is pretty proud of it, I'm very jealous of Will. And I now know how women feel about other women who have breast implants. Like, that's cheating. You know, this is something that's near and dear to me. That bitch got implants. That's the way I feel about Will. All right. Very nice, Will. Call back anytime. Boy, that was impressive. Yeah. Kristen?
12:31
Caller
Christine?
12:32
Adam
Christine?
12:33
Caller
Yeah.
12:34
Adam
Can you fart?
12:36
Caller
I lost, like, my whole thought because of that.
12:38
Adam
Yeah, that was great, wasn't it?
12:39
Caller
That was disgusting. And you guys were laughing so hard, too.
12:43
Adam
That was true.
12:44
Drew
Is it?
12:46
Adam
Drew loves that.
12:48
Adema
He takes all the...
12:49
Drew
It really is the difference between men and women. That's right. It's the defining difference right there.
12:56
Adam
All right. What's up there, Christine?
12:59
Caller
My boyfriend is giving me trouble for two years. He cheated on me. And I feel like I belong on Jerry Springer because, like, I'm not leaving him. And I'm like, well, I love him, you know?
13:13
Adam
Did he cheat with the same person for two years?
13:15
Caller
Yeah, like, the whole time.
13:16
Adam
So he just had a very long affair.
13:18
Caller
Yeah.
13:19
Adam
And how did you find out about it?
13:23
Caller
I found her number in his laundry and I called it and then that started the whole thing.
13:28
Drew
Do you think if we talk to him, who would he say his girlfriend was? You or her?
13:32
Caller
I guess it would depend on who you talk to.
13:34
Drew
Well, what if we talk to him?
13:37
Caller
Probably me, because I was first.
13:39
Adam
You were first? Yeah. You just discovered this after two years?
13:45
Caller
No, I've known about it for... I sound so stupid, I know. For like a year.
13:51
Adema
Where did you find the number in the laundry? When was the last time?
13:54
Caller
Like a year ago.
13:56
Adema
It took him a year to memorize her phone number?
13:58
Adam
That's what I was thinking. What's he carrying around this piece of evidence for for a year?
14:02
Caller
I know it's her new cell phone number.
14:04
Adam
Her new cell phone?
14:05
Drew
Yeah.
14:05
Adam
Okay.
14:06
Drew
So you had already been dating her for a while?
14:08
Caller
Yeah.
14:08
Adam
All right. But again, it sounds not so much like he was cheating on you as he was sort of deceiving both of you and sort of dating both of you.
14:18
Caller
Yeah, he was. I've talked to her many times on the phone.
14:21
Drew
Did she think she was a girlfriend?
14:23
Caller
Yeah. Well, she knew kind of something about me. I moved to New York from San Diego for him. And he told her that things didn't work out and I had left. She honestly had no clue about me.
14:37
Drew
So she thought she was the girlfriend?
14:39
Caller
Yeah.
14:40
Adam
All right. So now what's he say?
14:43
Caller
Now he's like, she's out of the picture. Anything she says to you, she's lying. But obviously the trust is not so good with us.
14:52
Drew
Well, at least you've learned that.
14:53
Adam
All right. So you're feeling like you never really had a relationship in a way.
14:58
Drew
I hope you're feeling that way.
15:00
Caller
Yeah, I am.
15:01
Adam
Okay.
15:02
Drew
Why would you? Where did you learn that this is even remotely acceptable as a relationship?
15:06
Caller
That's what I have no idea. And I know like if if I was giving outside advice to someone in my situation, I'd be like, you know, leave him, you know, everything.
15:17
Drew
But why can't you?
15:20
Caller
I just the fact that if I leave here or him and go back to San Diego, like to think that I'll never see him again, I just, I don't know. I don't want that. I don't want that.
15:32
Drew
Why? Do you rather have this abuse?
15:34
Because I love him.
15:35
Drew
Oh, please.
15:37
Adam
Well, listen, I know what you're talking about. And I don't know how old you guys are. But I know what, Drew, I'm talking to Adema, by the way. But here's the thing. You do get that feeling of I'm never going to see this person again. And it freaks you out when you're younger. And when you're older, you're thankful. Yeah. You go, I'm never going to see this person again. It's great news. Yeah. But there's this weird thing like you invested three years of your life and you'll never get that back and you'll never see this person again. But believe me, it's a healthy thing. Yeah.
16:08
Drew
You've got to go through that.
16:09
Adam
Yeah. This guy's flawed, Christine. I think you got to get out of this one.
16:13
Drew
I know.
16:14
Adam
It's never like, you'll never trust him.
16:16
Drew
It's never going to work out. Yeah. It's too much violation here. It's not like you have something bonding you together like a child. I hope not anyway, a child or something. And there's no reason to, there's just nothing, no common ground to build something.
16:27
Adam
Plus, you'll never trust him and you'll pay him back every day of the relationship in some subtle way.
16:33
Adema
There's a million fish in the sea anyway.
16:35
Drew
And he'll always be that guy. He'll always cheat on you because that's just the way he conducts himself in his relationship with you.
16:41
Caller
See, I'm thinking, because he's in the Navy and I'm thinking, if he gets out soon and for some weird reason, I'm thinking just like as soon as he's out of the Navy, it'll be fine because the girl also is in the Navy. Yeah.
16:58
Adam
Right. But then he'll get out of the Navy and he'll get a job and he'll bang the chick he works with at Kinko's.
17:03
Caller
Well, I mean, if he's with her in the Navy, then when he's with you out of the Navy, why wouldn't he still pursue her? It's the same situation, just reversed a little bit.
17:11
Caller
Because she's leaving.
17:13
Adam
All right. But there'll be other ones. Get out of there, Christine.
17:16
Drew
You got to get out.
17:16
Adam
You got in when you were young. You were what, 20?
17:19
Caller
23.
17:19
Drew
If you can't do it.
17:20
Adam
No, I mean, when you got in, you were 20?
17:22
Caller
Oh, 21.
17:24
Drew
Well, look, if you can't do it, it's because you don't have enough health in your life. And you got to build that maybe first. Some close relationships with people you can rely on who support you. We can spend time with, deal with, help you manage your feelings. And then you got to go.
17:36
Adam
That was funny. She said she was from San Diego and she just moved to New York, but she sounded like she was born in Brooklyn, didn't she? I mean, she really adapted quickly. Nick?
17:47
Yeah.
17:47
Adam
They'll never take her back into San Diego. Nick, you're 19. What's up?
17:52
Caller
How are you doing, Adam?
17:53
Adam
Good.
17:54
Caller
I'm just calling to say hi to Adema.
17:57
Caller
What's up, dude?
17:58
Caller
The music's really great.
17:59
Adema
Thanks, man.
18:00
Caller
I've heard your guys' demos over and over from my roommate, your cousin.
18:04
Caller
My killer, man.
18:05
Caller
Marcus' cousin, Pete.
18:06
Adema
Oh, cool, man.
18:07
Caller
Yeah, you guys are great.
18:09
Drew
He's related to... Everyone's related to Bakersfield.
18:11
Caller
Yeah.
18:12
Adema
That's the problem.
18:13
Caller
We're all second cousins.
18:15
Caller
Oh, yeah. Got a big family of musicians.
18:18
Adam
Nick, did you get the CD, though?
18:21
Caller
Yeah, I got the CD.
18:22
Adam
Oh, okay. All right.
18:23
Caller
Got like five copies of it.
18:25
Caller
Oh, thanks, brother.
18:28
Caller
Anyway, Adam, I don't know what your problem is with Bakersfield.
18:32
Caller
Well, it's...
18:33
Drew
Nick, you live there.
18:34
Adam
It's a dump. Come on.
18:36
Caller
It's all right. Really? Hey, if Bakersfield was so crappy, you wouldn't get bands like Adema and Korn and...
18:44
Adam
No, see, I disagree. I think their artistic energy is a response to that horrible environment. It's what breeds it.
18:53
Adema
Like Seattle. Like Seattle rained all the time.
18:54
Adam
It's like any good artist comes from an environment that's a little tough. Sometimes it's just the family. Other times it's the whole place. But it does... it breeds artistic expression when you come from that sort of area. I mean, nobody... no good bands come out of Beverly Hills or Hancock Park, right? They all come out of these areas. Thank you. They're like... bands are like prize fighters. You gotta grow up in a tough neighborhood on the south side of Chicago in order to get that sort of eye of the tiger. Thank you. Hey, hey, I bred the band with the boxing. Do you see that with the eye of the tiger there?
19:34
Caller
That's great.
19:35
Adam
Thank you.
19:36
Caller
All right.
19:36
Adam
Let's talk to Mary. She's 24. Mary?
19:39
Adema
Yes.
19:39
Adam
What's up?
19:40
I have a question. Apparently, the last couple of times that I've had sex with my boyfriend, after I had an orgasm, I almost get very busy and nauseous.
19:50
Adema
And I almost feel like I'm about to pass out.
19:52
Caller
Sounds like great sex.
19:54
Yeah.
19:55
Adema
It is.
19:55
It's just that I get very nervous that I'm almost gonna black out, or I almost get, and I've let him know, and I feel awkward till I know that I'm almost on the verge of, but I don't feel like I'm gonna throw up cause I feel like I'm releasing that many toxins and I'm just like kind of losing it.
20:13
Adema
Have you ever seen South Park, like Stan, when he sees the, his crush, he like wants to pee and stuff?
20:22
Adam
Hey Mary, does he, does he got you on one of those sex wings, you know, those harness things?
20:27
Adema
No.
20:28
Adam
No, okay.
20:28
Drew
Do you have pain during intercourse?
20:32
Adema
No, I used to but not, not anymore.
20:35
Drew
Do you hyperventilate?
20:37
Adema
I try not to.
20:39
Drew
So maybe you're hyperventilating, that's all this is.
20:41
Adema
Okay.
20:42
Drew
So.
20:43
Adam
Well, I mean, put it this way, if you lay down on the sofa and you start breathing real hard and real fast and then you scream and then you stand up, you're gonna be a little lightheaded, a little dizzy. Do you know what I'm saying?
20:55
Yeah.
20:56
Adam
So this is the same kind of thing.
20:59
Okay.
20:59
Adam
Okay.
21:00
Drew
There are normal. Well, it's not precise. I mean, you should have a pelvic exam to make sure there's not some infection or something.
21:05
Adam
But that wouldn't make her dizzy.
21:07
Drew
Yeah, that wouldn't make her nauseated. Those who will get nauseated and dizzy at the same time.
21:10
Do you guys ever go through that? Do they ever go through like such an intensive orgasm where it's just like you don't feel like they're going to collapse?
21:18
Adam
I did. I collapsed on the way to the fridge once. I hit my head on the coffee table, but I was pretty loaded. I think it was definitely the beer.
21:29
Drew
No, Mary, they don't.
21:30
Adam
Guys don't do that. Let me ask this too. Do guys grow up playing sports or at least a lot of guys grow up playing sports and you're used to kind of spending yourself a little bit, working up a sweat and then stopping? And in sex, for a guy, most guys can be like a little two-on-two basketball or something.
21:53
Adema
Or a sprint?
21:54
Yeah, just be like a nice sprint or something.
21:56
Adam
Yeah, for me, it's like a good 40, 30, good 10-yard dash.
22:01
Adema
Like bringing it down and going...
22:03
Adam
Right, right. And so maybe guys condition themselves a little to do that go up and go down thing a little bit.
22:09
Drew
And after all, there is something more internal going on with them. I mean, you're moving Viscera around sometimes.
22:14
Adam
Well, Viscera?
22:14
Drew
Maybe not you, Adam, but some guy is able to move the internal parts around.
22:19
Adam
Oh, you're scrambling them.
22:20
Drew
Yeah.
22:21
Adam
Interesting.
22:22
Drew
And usually women will have pain and nausea when that's happening. All right. You are doing that.
22:27
Adam
All right. We're going to take a little break. Adema is our guest tonight. We'll hear something off the CD entitled Adema. And we'll be back with some tour dates and more of your calls after this.
22:38
Drew
Hello. Is this Loveline?
22:44
Hi, I'm Jerry Springer, and you're listening to Loveline with Adam Carolla and Dr. Drew.
22:49
Adam
Yes, he is.
22:51
Drew
Who would have appreciated the last conversation during the break?
22:53
Adam
We, it was all ass. That's all we spoke of. It was one big fart conversation.
22:58
Adema
A booty conversation.
23:00
Adam
Ademas here. And let me tell you, I'm an atheist and farting is kind of my religion. And just like anybody of any religion, when I meet brethren, you know what I mean? Who are into it too, I immediately feel closer to them.
23:15
Drew
Well, you have communion with them.
23:16
Adam
Yeah, that's how I feel about Ademas.
23:19
Drew
This is evidence of God for you. This is the connection with the spiritual.
23:23
Adam
That's right. Thank you. Tim, Mark and Mike are all here from the band. We're going to hear something off the Ademas CD in just a moment. I think what we'll do is we'll take a call and then we'll hear a song. Paula, you're 21.
23:40
Caller
Yes, I am.
23:41
Adam
What's up?
23:43
Adema
Well, first of all, I love you guys.
23:45
Caller
I especially love the interesting conversations I've been listening to this evening. Made me laugh all the way home.
23:51
Thank you. Great.
23:55
Caller
Well, I've been dating this guy for a year and a half. He's totally great. He bought me a car. I've been making one payment on it. He spoiled me.
24:07
Adema
He treated me really good.
24:09
Caller
Everything is perfect, but I'm finding myself falling into the pattern of looking and flirting and coming very close to cheating on him with other guys. And it's not just him. It's been other guys that I've dated as well.
24:26
Drew
How old is he?
24:27
Caller
He's 22.
24:28
Drew
And how long have you been with him again?
24:30
Caller
I've been with him for a year and a half.
24:31
Drew
Do you think maybe just the relationship is over? It's not like you sabotaged it at the beginning. You've been in a relationship with him for a year and a half, and it's sort of run its course, maybe.
24:39
Adema
But I don't feel like it.
24:41
Caller
I can see myself spending the rest of my life with him, but...
24:43
Drew
Maybe that's what's scaring you.
24:45
Adema
I think she's guilty that she has this friggin car and she wants to get rid of the guy, but she wants the car, too. I think she wants it.
24:52
Caller
Oh, he'd let me keep the car.
24:53
Drew
No, her thing is, her thing is, this guy's perfect. Why do I sabotage relationships with perfect guys?
24:58
Adam
Right?
24:58
Caller
No, but it hasn't just been perfect guys. The last boy I dated, and I say boy, he dropped out of high school. He had no plans for this future. He was working at a gas station.
25:09
Adam
Oh, my God.
25:11
Caller
Imagine that.
25:14
Caller
So that's why I'm dating this guy who treats me really well.
25:17
Adema
He's in college.
25:18
He owns his own car.
25:20
Drew
Aren't you making my case for me? What I said was why do you sabotage a relationship with the good guys?
25:28
Adema
It's not just good guys though.
25:30
Adam
All right. First off, clear something up. You said he bought you a car and you only made one payment.
25:36
Caller
Yeah.
25:36
Adam
What does that mean? I mean, he bought you the car, right?
25:40
Caller
Well, the loan is in his name. I've had it for a couple of months and I've made one and a half payments on it. Like out of first payments, I made one and a half and he made the others.
25:52
Adam
I know. But don't you think he's going to stop making the payments after you dump him?
25:57
Caller
Yeah.
25:58
Adam
Okay. So him letting you keep the cars, not really letting you keep the car if you don't own the car, right?
26:06
Caller
Well, after it's paid off, he would sign it over.
26:09
Adema
We've already had this discussion.
26:10
Adam
It's going to be paid off in four years, though, right?
26:13
Adema
Yeah.
26:15
Drew
Yeah, he's assuming you'll be with him in four years, Paula.
26:18
Adam
All right. Anyway, so don't factor the car in because if you dump him tomorrow, you're going to have to take over the payments.
26:23
Caller
Right.
26:24
Adam
Okay. But it seems like you're just not into the guy.
26:27
I am, no.
26:28
Caller
He makes me happy. I mean, the sex is great.
26:33
Adam
Well, what is it that you don't like about him?
26:36
Nothing.
26:37
Adam
Okay. Then why do you think you feel the need to cheat on him?
26:41
Caller
I think what happened is I went into this relationship a little too soon after I left my other one and I'm feeling I would I can totally see myself settling down with this guy. It's just I kind of want to live life before I settle down.
26:55
Drew
All right. That's fine.
26:56
Adema
Tell him.
26:56
Drew
Then again, that's it.
26:57
Caller
But I'm afraid that if we break up, I will lose him forever.
27:00
Adema
You will.
27:01
Drew
You might.
27:01
Adema
You will.
27:02
Drew
You might. But that's.
27:02
Adema
I don't want to. He's perfect.
27:04
Drew
You've got to make that decision. Lots of guys do this. Men do this all the time. Men will leave a relationship knowing that there's a good chance they will lose them, regret it really their whole life, but still believe they had to do it because they could not have been in that relationship without having first to go out and test things.
27:22
Adam
And this is what we're talking about at the top of the show, actually after the farting stopped, which is going to be the name of my next book, After The Farting Stops. But you're in your early 20s and you have this feeling of just when you think about not seeing this person ever again or having them in your life ever again, you get a pit in your stomach, right?
27:49
Adema
I get scared to death.
27:50
Adam
Right. And everybody does that in their early 20s and it's just part of growing up and being that age and experiencing life. And I say do it sooner than later because it will come. You can't have both. You can't live life and live with this guy.
28:08
Adema
But why do I always?
28:09
Caller
But it's for like bad guys, like guys who totally don't meet up with his standards.
28:15
Adam
Yeah, but stop. You know what? You're putting everybody into a computer. This guy has a job. This guy goes to college. This guy has his own car. And by the way, she's real fixated on the car thing. It's not that big a deal.
28:28
Caller
No, it's not.
28:29
Adam
But you said this guy has his own car. He got you a car.
28:32
I mean, it's not the car.
28:34
Caller
It's my car.
28:36
Adam
You'll be, listen, you'll fall in love with somebody and it won't be based on how they look on paper.
28:41
Drew
Is there something about your, hang on, do you have a bad boy dad, a dad that was not available and was an alcoholic, maybe that kind of thing?
28:49
Caller
Did what?
28:49
Drew
Did you have a father who was abusive or was an alcoholic?
28:51
Caller
No, my father passed away when I was 15.
28:54
Drew
What kind of guy was he?
28:57
Caller
He wasn't a drinker, my mom worked a midnight shift, so I mainly grew up with my dad. I don't remember, I guess, he smoked weed, but that's about it.
29:08
Drew
What kind of guy was he?
29:10
Caller
He treated my mom good. I know that if he hadn't passed away, they'd still be married to this day.
29:14
Drew
What did he die of?
29:16
Caller
Lung cancer.
29:17
Adam
How did he treat you though?
29:19
Adema
I was daddy's little girl.
29:21
Caller
I'm an only child.
29:22
Drew
What did he do for a living?
29:24
Caller
He worked in a factory. He graduated from high school, but he never pursued college.
29:30
Adam
Did he have his own car?
29:32
Caller
Yes, he had his own car.
29:33
Adam
Okay, all right.
29:34
Adema
He was a keeper.
29:35
Adam
No wonder your mom never let him go. He had his own wheels.
29:38
Drew
You know, it's women frequently go through a phase where they've got to date a bunch of bad guys and they get through that. And you may just go through that phase, Paul, so go ahead.
29:48
Adam
Yeah. And listen, get it out of your system. That's fine. Listen, at 21, you shouldn't be wanting to get married. You should have that. All right, let's hear something from Adema. What do you say? Cue it up there, Anderson. This is from the self-titled CD called Adema, and this is called Give It In. A little something from our new fart buddies, Adema. They're going to be here all night. Adema is also the name of the CD. I'll give you some dates where you can find them around the country. Also, this evening. And let's talk to Liz, who's 19. Liz?
34:49
Caller
Hey.
34:50
Drew
Hey.
34:51
Caller
I just want to say that, you know, hi and everything, and that Adema is awesome.
34:56
Caller
Oh, thank you.
34:56
Adema
Thank you very much.
34:57
Caller
I'll be at the Chicago show Halloween night.
34:59
Caller
Oh, cool.
35:00
Caller
And front, of course. But anyhow, I just want to say the song, Close Friends. Did you write that from, like, a personal experience, or? How did that come up?
35:12
Adema
Well, the band was actually just about to do a demo when I was with this girl for a few years, and I found out that the drummer of the band at that time was fooling around with her. So it was kind of like a song for both of them, you know? It's like they were both good friends of mine, and it was just shocking for me to find that out, especially at a time where we were finally getting somewhere, getting noticed, our music was getting noticed. So I wrote those lyrics about that.
35:42
Adam
You guys broke up and kicked the drummer out?
35:45
Adema
Yeah.
35:45
Adema
Good.
35:47
Adam
But it's good. Then the band took off, and you're single, and you're banging your way across the United States.
35:52
Adema
Yeah, it was a blessing in disguise, actually. We got a drummer.
35:54
Adam
Right.
35:57
Adema
His name is Chris Coles, by the way. He wanted me to say that for him tonight. Chris Coles.
36:01
Adam
Hey, Liz?
36:02
Caller
Yeah.
36:03
Adam
All right.
36:04
Caller
Okay.
36:05
Adam
All right.
36:05
Drew
Is that it? Nothing else?
36:07
Caller
Well, if you want to hook me up with Backstage Pez, is that it?
36:11
Adema
Seat room?
36:11
Adam
They almost had her off the line.
36:14
Drew
No problem.
36:15
Adam
You're going to be at the Chicago show, huh?
36:17
Adema
Yeah, we'll see there.
36:19
Drew
All right.
36:19
Adam
Good times there, baby.
36:20
All right.
36:20
Adam
Bye. All right. Let's say hi to Michael real fast, before we take a break.
36:26
Michael, now?
36:29
Adam
All right. Hey, what's up?
36:31
Not much. I'm quickly approaching my 30th birthday, and starting to get those feelings of depression. I normally get around my birthday, but this year, they seem to be just a little bit more intense.
36:45
Adam
You remember because you're turning 30?
36:47
Yeah.
36:47
Drew
Because you have chronic depression?
36:49
Well, yeah, and it seems to come along whenever my birthday is around.
36:56
Drew
Well, right.
36:58
Adam
I'm that way too with birthdays, Christmas, and weekdays.
37:04
Drew
And the end of football season.
37:04
Adam
And Saturday, but not Sunday during football season. And sometimes there's a good college game on Saturday. I'm okay too.
37:11
Florida State, yeah.
37:12
Adam
All right.
37:12
Drew
Well, look, Michael, here's the deal. Here's what I've noticed in people in the early 30s that get depressed. It's usually that their life isn't quite together the way they want it. Their friends are getting on and doing things, establishing careers, getting families started. And some people feel left behind by that. And if that's you, if that's what's causing you to feel sort of depressed now that you are 30, maybe it's time to look into some of those things and take care of business.
37:33
Adam
And it's a bitch, too, as a guy, if you don't have your career on track and your buddies are starting to make money. You remember that? Oh, Drew, you didn't have that.
37:42
Drew
No.
37:42
Adam
You were the buddy who was making money, making everyone feel bad. Did you guys ever have that? How old are you guys? You guys are pretty young, right?
37:51
Caller
Yeah, I'm 24.
37:52
Adema
I'm 22.
37:53
26. Oh, all right.
37:55
Adam
I was that guy then. I'm the only guy in this room. You know, there's nothing worse. I mean, you're still sort of pecking away at the dream. And your buddies went the straight route and they've worked their way up the ladder just a little bit. And they got some dental insurance. Guy pulls up in a new Maxima. And it's like, oh, dude.
38:15
Adema
Pulls into your gas station that you work at, that kind of thing.
38:18
Caller
Right, right.
38:20
Adam
Fill her up and check the oil pressure. What's your goober?
38:24
Caller
I think I kind of went through that sort of thing. Because I didn't finish college and I had other friends that did. You kind of see them starting careers and you kind of feel like, man, I'm still living in a garage or other people's couches.
38:36
Adam
Yeah, I know.
38:37
Adema
Those are all my new friends now, by the way.
38:41
Adam
You got one of those secured credit cards where you pay them 500 and they give you 300 credit. Bank of Hoban issued it to you. It's a page.
38:52
Adema
You just got to be 18 and breathing to give away.
38:55
Adam
Yeah, we trust you. Just give us 500 and we'll give you 250 credit. No problem. All right. We'll take a break. We'll be back with Adema after this.
39:07
Loveline for Adam Carolla and Dr. Drew.
39:16
Adam
Hey, everybody, it's Loveline. I'm Adam Corolla. That's Dr. Drew over there. Phone number 1-800-LOVE-191. Tim, Mark and Mike are all here from Adema. We'll hear something else off of the Adema CD. They're gonna be at the Palladium, the Hollywood Palladium tomorrow night. So that ought to be quite an extravaganza. It gets a little rowdy around there. I'll tell you, I live not too far from the Hollywood Palladium. And they got all the hardcore acts over there, right? I mean, that's the place.
39:53
Adema
Tomorrow, it's hardcore, big time.
39:56
Adam
It's been the place for a little while, I think. I mean, the Palladium, Drew, you remember that? Growing up in Palladium? No. You remember Perkins Palace? Yeah, sure. Perkins. Over in Pasadena. I saw the Plasmatics over there in like 1981. Nice. Yeah. Windy O. God rest her soul. Oh, yeah. The car finally blew up while she was in it, and that's what happened to the Plasmatics. Drew, you remember the Plasmatics?
40:24
Drew
I do.
40:24
Adam
Oh, you do? You catch them when they were over?
40:27
Drew
No, never saw them. Never met her.
40:29
Adam
I'll tell you, you guys remember the Plasmatics?
40:32
Adema
I remember Windy O.
40:35
Adam
The Plasmatics were the first sort of cartoon punk band, meaning the punk scene was around for a couple of years and there was all the hardcore punk bands and then the Plasmatics were sort of the kiss, what kiss was to rock if the Plasmatics were to punk. And there's a couple things I remember about that show. She would, you know, take the chainsaw and she wore like clothes pins on her nipples and everything and she would take the chainsaw and carve the guitars in half and stuff. But there's two things I remember from that show. First, they would blow up a car on stage, which I was in the mosh pit and my chin was actually resting on the stage. And I remember turning to my buddy Todd and telling him this is going to be bogus when she took the big TNT stick and threw it into the old junk car.
41:26
Adema
But it blew up, man.
41:27
Adam
I mean, it scared the S out of me. I was in shock for two days. I couldn't believe it. The other thing that put me in shock is the lead guitar player was wearing like a tutu and fishnet stockings and he had one nut that was hanging out of his tutu. I don't know if it was intentional or not, but when a nut gets pressed hard against fishnets, it makes a checkerboard pattern on it. And the stage about five feet high and this guy had his foot up on the amp, you know, and I was just standing under him looking at this one ball the entire show. That's horrible. Waffle ball. Traumatizing.
42:06
Adema
Yeah. Yeah.
42:08
Adam
Yeah, I actually saw him twice. I didn't want to see him the second time. We saw him once is kind of a goof. And then two days later, some like distant family member called and said, hey, your little nephew has tickets and needs somebody to take him to the plasmonics. So I was like, I was there two nights ago. Well, can you take us? We went again.
42:29
What the hell?
42:30
Adam
They blew up the car. But this time I stood back. Anyway, Wendy Ostead. Daniel, you're 19.
42:38
Caller
Yeah.
42:39
Adam
What's up?
42:40
Caller
Well, first of all, I want to say Adam, you rule. You're like the funniest guy I've ever heard in my life.
42:43
Adam
Great. Thank you.
42:45
Caller
And Dr. Drew, you're like the genius. If I ever go on that millionaire show, I'm going to use you as a last thing.
42:50
Drew
Have fun.
42:51
Caller
Yeah, whatever.
42:52
Drew
What's up, Daniel?
42:54
Caller
Well, I like performing oral on a girl a lot, right? And I was just wondering, if she's on her menstrual period, is there any way that if I perform oral on her while she's on it, that I could get sick or something?
43:07
Drew
Does she have any infectious diseases?
43:09
Caller
Not that I know of.
43:10
Drew
No, then you wouldn't.
43:12
Caller
No.
43:13
Drew
No.
43:13
Adam
Are you going to do it?
43:14
Adema
Are you going to do it?
43:15
Adam
He was kind of hoping the answer would be yes.
43:17
Adema
You have an excuse.
43:18
Adam
You have an excuse, right?
43:20
Caller
No, because I'm wondering about the secretion or something. Like if there's any way I could get sick, stomach problems, something.
43:25
Drew
No. Well, you're not, you know, I wouldn't suggest you lap up. But no, you know, if you have something infectious, if she has something that you could contract, you could get a more effective way to get it is by blood exposure, obviously, blood borne diseases. But other than that, no.
43:42
Adam
What if you compromise and just lick her maxi pad? I mean, just you want to be hardcore, but you don't want to be too hardcore. You know what I'm saying? I mean, you want to show commitment, but not get hepatitis, you know what I'm saying?
43:55
Adema
Surround together.
43:56
Adam
It just sounds like a compromise. Alright. Alright, Daniel. Is she going to let you do this, by the way?
44:02
Adema
Is she asking for it? I mean, is she asking for you to do it during the...
44:07
Adam
Daniel? I think he hung up. I got to tell you, I would not trust a woman who would let a guy do this. Because most sane women would be like, no way, get out of there. You know what I mean?
44:19
Drew
There's let and then there's also sort of encourage. Encouraging would be like, no.
44:23
Adam
But even let...
44:25
Drew
If a guy were really insistent upon it, that's the guy's problem.
44:28
Adam
You got a story, Drew? You never let anyone do that to you while you're...
44:33
Drew
Not during my period.
44:34
I see.
44:36
Adam
All right. Class. Yeah. I wouldn't mind having a period, not because I want a period, but more... Just to use something. Yeah. Sorry about the mood, fellas. I mean, I'm on the rag. Hey, Doug, sorry I snapped at you in the car, man. But you know what I'm saying? You've been there. Yeah. Hey, I can't make it into work today. Feeling a little cramped. Feeling a little crampy. I need like a gallon of Haagen-Dazs. I'm just going to cry and watch TV. I can't go to work. Yeah. Yeah. I just. Yeah. It wouldn't be bad just to have in your hip pocket, you know?
45:16
Adema
Just because you never know if they're lying or not.
45:18
Adam
No. And you're not going to. And what are you going to call them out on? All the days.
45:21
Caller
Ask for proof.
45:22
Adam
And listen, I've been in a, you know, I've been a boss when people have called in. And soon as a chick goes, well, you know, that's cool. Don't come in. Take tomorrow. Take the week off.
45:36
Adema
Whatever it takes.
45:39
Adam
Yeah. As a guy, you don't have any of that. The only one you got is a drink too much. And then you get, you know, you get punished for that. Hey, Angie.
45:49
Yeah.
45:50
Adam
You're 17.
45:51
Caller
Yeah.
45:51
Adam
Oh, you're so lucky with that period.
45:55
Drew
What's up, Angie?
45:56
Caller
Um, I don't know if I would call it lactating, but for like the last three years, I have some sort of liquid coming out of my breast.
46:04
Adam
You know, I like the lactate just to use as an excuse.
46:08
Drew
That would be lactating.
46:09
Adam
Right.
46:09
Drew
Are you wanting medication?
46:11
Caller
No.
46:11
Drew
Nothing?
46:12
Caller
Nothing at all.
46:13
Drew
No birth control pills? Nothing?
46:15
Caller
Nothing.
46:16
Drew
Okay.
46:16
Adam
Do a certain amount of women do this?
46:18
Drew
Yeah. Sometimes just irritation of the nipple can cause it. And sometimes it's thyroid conditions. There are other things that can do it. So it's something that's important to have worked out, to have a doctor look at. Okay, Angie? Okay. But sometimes it amounts to nothing.
46:31
Adam
You have a boy?
46:31
Drew
Pregnancy is the number one reason. Are you, any chance you're pregnant? No.
46:35
Adam
For three years?
46:35
Drew
Three years. I think that's three months.
46:37
Adam
All right, genius. If a kid's going to come out, he's going to be 14 years old. He's going to have his junior high diploma. Hey, Angie. Do you have a boyfriend?
46:50
Caller
No.
46:51
Adam
Okay. So there's nobody to protest. And you should see a doctor though. You never know.
46:56
Caller
Okay.
46:56
Adam
All right, baby.
46:57
Caller
Thank you.
46:58
Adam
Hey, good times, right?
46:59
Caller
Okay.
46:59
Adam
All right. All right. Was she leaking all the time?
47:03
Drew
We didn't ask.
47:04
Adema
Only in China.
47:05
Adam
Did they have, hey, Angie? Angie? She hung up. Did they have like a...
47:11
Drew
Pad?
47:11
Adam
Maxi pad for your bra? Like a Stridex pad, something around that you could put in there?
47:15
Drew
For breastfeeding and stuff. Yeah?
47:18
Adam
I like the look in to that. Get one of those too. Couldn't hurt. Add a cup size, you know. All right. Adema is here. We're going to take ourselves a little break with the band. Hey, it's Loveline, everybody. Those are our good friends, System Up and Down, who last time they tried to play the Hollywood Palladium, All Hill broke loose over there just a couple of weeks or a couple of months back. Remember that there, Drew? Yep. Okay, that's a good radio. That's why he gets the big bucks. Tim, Mark and Mike are both here from, or are all here, I should say, from Adema. We'll hear something off the self-titled CD, which is out everywhere as we speak. They're also going to be at the Palladium tomorrow night. And then they're going to get in their bus and tour this great country of ours. And there's a lot of tour dates here and it's basically everywhere. They're starting in LA and they're going to end up in Chicago about three, four weeks later and they're going to be everywhere in between. So do you guys got a website or something like that if people want to find out where you're going to be and when?
48:28
Adema
Yeah, you could go check it out at ademaonline.com.
48:31
Adam
Alright, so do that and find out when the band is coming to your town because they will be. Joe?
48:37
Adema
Yeah.
48:38
Adam
Hey, Joe, you're 37. What's up?
48:42
Adema
Well, I have a boyfriend that I've been with about two and a half years. And when he got a divorce, he, um, we were together for about six months.
49:00
Adam
Right.
49:01
Adema
And everything was perfect. He was going through a divorce.
49:03
Drew
I think she's having a seizure.
49:04
Adema
But then all of a sudden, he just quit seeing me except during lunch hour at work.
49:11
Adam
Right.
49:11
Adema
And I've been putting up with it for like the last year and a half.
49:14
Adam
Just, uh, seeing him over by the vending machine.
49:18
Adema
No, no, at my house. He would come over to lunch. And you guys got a really crazy show, but I respect you guys.
49:25
Drew
Well, what makes you, wait.
49:26
Adam
Would he come over and have sex?
49:28
Adema
Yeah, we would have lunch and sex.
49:30
Drew
Every day.
49:31
Adema
It's my ideal. He doesn't come over just for that. But I'm the one who brings it on.
49:36
Drew
How do you figure he doesn't come over just for that? That's just what he's doing.
49:40
Adema
Because he never, I mean, he's like, he buys me diamonds. I mean, these girls are talking about they buy cars and stuff. He buys me diamonds. He buys me, you know, everything I want. But he's not ready for that commitment thing. And I figure after two and a half years.
49:55
Adam
The commitment thing of seeing you in the evening. That's part of the commitment.
50:00
Adema
Does he give you diamonds at lunch? Is that when he gives you the diamonds at lunchtime? Does he whip out the diamond after the tuna fish sandwich right before he...
50:08
Caller
Yeah, pretty much.
50:09
Adema
You guys are nuts.
50:11
Adema
Don't you figure it out.
50:12
Adam
He's such a, you know, he's such a romantic. He actually put it in her devil'd hand last week. It was great. She bit down on it. But then, yeah, she passed it. Yeah, Joe? Joe, so I understand he may not want commitment, but he couldn't see you on a Saturday night?
50:33
Adema
Well, he used to. We used to be together like all the time, and then he got scared of that commitment thing.
50:39
Adam
Okay.
50:40
Drew
All right, Joe, you don't figure you're seeing someone else in the evenings, perhaps?
50:43
Adema
Well, I thought that.
50:46
Adam
Yeah.
50:46
Drew
That would make sense, wouldn't it?
50:48
Adam
Yeah. He may be banging someone during brunch. That's my feeling. Coffee break. He's got a brunch date, right?
50:54
Adema
Oh, come on. No, no. I mean, he tells me he loves me.
51:01
Adam
Well, if he says he loves you, then that's it.
51:03
Drew
He certainly knows how to keep you strong along, doesn't he?
51:06
Adema
I think so.
51:07
Drew
Yeah, that's about right.
51:08
Caller
Okay.
51:10
Adam
Do you think he got divorced?
51:12
Adema
Oh, yeah. I saw the divorce papers. I was with him after the divorce. We were together. We almost lived together after that.
51:19
Adam
Okay. So-
51:20
Adema
Practically. And then he got scared of that commitment thing because after 28 years married, he got scared.
51:26
Drew
Yeah. I would stop thinking of it in terms of a commitment thing. This guy does not have a commitment problem. He's 50. He's been through a marriage. He just wants to F around basically. And you're just a nice, you know, sort of convenient, ready service for him.
51:43
Adema
You think? That's what I've been thinking after two and a half years. It's almost-
51:48
Adam
Yeah. Yeah. You were- God bless you. Do you have a sister?
51:54
Caller
What a woman.
51:56
Adema
I gave him the biggest 50th birthday ever and-
52:00
Adema
At lunch time?
52:02
Adam
During lunch time? She made him a Diablo sandwich and a Mr. Pibb, and she had those deli style pickles, you know?
52:10
Drew
The slice long ways?
52:12
Adam
Yeah, slice long ways. Put those on. Put those on.
52:14
Adema
She's got a 50 with the pickles.
52:18
Adam
That's right. And this time, it wasn't fries or slaw. It was both. You understand? Yeah, she pulled out all the stops. Oh, Christ, this is such a mess. And what is it with these chicks? You hear her cadence in her voice?
52:35
Drew
Yeah, 37 going on 19, 22?
52:39
Adam
Maybe.
52:39
Adema
Well, because I'm old.
52:41
Caller
It goes on to all the everybody else who I did.
52:44
Adam
Joe, what do you do?
52:44
Drew
Yeah, but you sound younger, Joe.
52:45
Adam
What do you do for a living? Just hawk these diamonds or what do you do? You like to watch animals or something?
52:55
Adema
I want my own money, put it that way.
52:57
Adam
You have your own money.
52:58
Adema
Creative Lunchtime Specials.
52:59
Drew
That's another way to arrest development.
53:01
Adema
No, no, no, no.
53:03
Adam
Did somebody leave you some money?
53:04
Adema
I didn't say money off of that, but no, I know.
53:06
Adam
Did somebody leave you some money?
53:08
Adema
Yes.
53:09
Adam
I see. And you just kind of kept, I mean, you just kind of...
53:12
Adema
Yeah, I'm pretty well off.
53:15
Adam
All right.
53:16
Adema
And he is, too. I mean, it's not the money issue. It's... I feel like I'm hitting my... I've been single for so long, and then I'm ready to settle down.
53:30
Adam
Right. Well, he may not...
53:31
Adema
He's married for so long, and...
53:33
Drew
Well, you may have to accept the fact that he doesn't want that kind of relationship, and if he is not able to compromise, then you have to end this relationship and find someone who is able to give you what you need. All right.
53:44
Caller
Well, if you like the lunchtime thing, stick with it.
53:47
Drew
Sometimes the...
53:49
Adema
I mean, he's satisfied with it, but I'm not.
53:51
Adam
All right.
53:52
Adema
I want more.
53:53
Adam
That's right.
53:53
Drew
Then tell him.
53:54
Adam
And why don't you tell him? Yeah. Are you scared?
53:58
Adema
But would I give him the ultimatum?
54:00
Adam
Yeah, go ahead.
54:02
Drew
Why not? You're going to have to leave anyway. So you might as well see if he can step up or not.
54:08
Adam
All right, Joe?
54:10
Caller
You think I should?
54:11
Adam
Yes, lay down the law.
54:13
Adema
You're all good, Joe.
54:13
Caller
Unless you like being the lunch special.
54:15
Drew
How come you don't tell Joe, therapy, therapy, therapy?
54:17
Adam
Therapy, therapy, therapy.
54:18
Adema
Yeah, therapy.
54:20
Adam
What's that? Yeah, spend some of that money on therapy, all right?
54:25
Drew
Please, please.
54:26
Adema
That's nice. Well, you know what? I think I'm going to go on a single line and just become single again.
54:31
Drew
Yeah, this is no laughing matter.
54:32
Adam
You're single now. I got news for you.
54:34
Adema
That's what I pretty much get.
54:37
Adam
Right, OK.
54:39
Adema
But I'm a really nice looking girl.
54:41
Adam
No, I know. What do you guys use for lube? Miracle Whip?
54:46
Adema
No, oil.
54:48
Adam
OK, all right. That's my money man name. Canola oil and a little egg white, right? Extra virgin oil. You got mayonnaise. All right. Oh boy.
54:56
Drew
Joe was sad.
54:59
Adam
Yeah, Joe was like 37 and a little retarded, right?
55:05
Drew
I think that may be alcohol.
55:06
You think that's alcohol?
55:07
Adam
You know what I think? I think when you're a hot chick, people just don't call you out too much. I mean, they don't go, hey Nimrod, what are you thinking with the big boobs and the blonde hair over there? You know, you just don't get a sufficient amount of crap from your friends or society because Joe obviously is good looking. Yeah, and she's got money and she's just sitting in her apartment. Daniel, actually, I think we're all a little bit jealous. I wish I could just sit home, live off my stipend and have some old guy bang me during lunch. It's not a bad life. Think about it, we're out busting our hump. It's not a bad gig she's got.
55:46
Drew
Pretty empty.
55:47
Adam
Daniel, you're 18.
55:49
Caller
Yeah.
55:50
Adam
What's up?
55:51
Caller
Well, first of all, I want to say you guys are awesome. And like one of my goals for my band is to be on your show one day, just to.
55:58
Adam
All right. It's not going to happen. Where are you from?
56:02
Drew
You from Bakersfield? Ask Adem, it's not that great an experience either.
56:05
Adam
Yeah, they're over it.
56:06
Caller
I'm from other cities in LA.
56:08
Adam
You move out to Bakersfield and-
56:10
Adema
Get some inspiration.
56:12
Adam
Yeah, right.
56:12
Caller
Get serious about your career.
56:13
Adam
Right that way.
56:15
Caller
All right. Well, my question is that I've been doing Steve for about a month and a half now. Maybe about three or four times a week. And when I do it, I smoke weed with it too sometimes.
56:27
Adam
Sure.
56:27
Caller
And a couple of nights ago, and this has happened before, but it got really intense the other night. I was smoking a little bit, and then I've been doing speed all day. And then I kind of had this numb kind of feeling on my body. Like, I was like, my body was hollow. It was weird. And I kept checking for my pulse. Like, because it felt like my heart wasn't beating right.
56:50
Drew
Was your pulse real fast?
56:51
Caller
Yeah, it was going fast. And then it kind of goes a little slower, you know? And sometimes it would get really weak. And I would keep checking it to feel a little, because it kind of felt like my heart wasn't beating.
57:02
Drew
Well, your heart for sure was beating. But this is how people die in speed. Really? In speed, you get rhythm disturbances, and very significant, but usually rapid rhythm disturbances of the heart. And they break down, and you lose your, you know, you start perfusing your brain and you don't have to go.
57:17
Adam
Is it that you speed yourself up and you're, is it this with your heart? I never really thought about this. Hold on a second there, Daniel. But your heart has its rhythm, like as if you're running on a treadmill, a pace. And then somebody speeds up the treadmill and you kind of lose your pace?
57:36
Drew
No, what happens is the entire muscle becomes more irritable, and new pathways that are not supposed to be open, open up. You have to understand that basically the way the heart rhythms occur is by these little circuits developing and discharging. And new circuit pathways start to open up through which electricity can pass very, very rapidly. So the heart develops these very, very rapid and sometimes irregular rhythms. And if they are so rapid that the blood can no longer be supplied to the heart, then the muscle becomes further irritable.
58:04
Adam
But why would they be, if they're more rapid, wouldn't more blood be supplied?
58:08
Drew
No, because the ventricle doesn't fill sufficiently. It's so fast that the blood can't get into the ventricle before it gets out. Pow, pow, pow, pow, pow, pow, pow. And then, now it breaks down into some completely non-functional rhythm. There's no pulse, no nothing, you're dead.
58:21
Adam
All right.
58:21
Adema
Well, good times.
58:23
Adam
So you're saying Daniel's dead or?
58:25
Drew
No, I think Daniel needs to get his marijuana and speed addiction treated.
58:28
Adam
Hey Daniel?
58:29
Drew
Yeah?
58:30
Adam
That might be a good plan for you.
58:31
Adema
Yeah, stop doing speed. I'm telling you, man, it's not worth it.
58:34
Caller
I mean, I go without it for days at a time.
58:38
Drew
I'd say, Daniel, 70% of my speed addicts profound speed addicts that I treat only do it three times a week.
58:44
Caller
Really?
58:45
Drew
Yeah.
58:46
Caller
Okay. Well, yeah, that's why I was calling. I was wondering if it was just maybe in my mind at the time or it was really happening. It was kind of scary.
58:52
Drew
Either way, you got a problem. You might as well deal with it before something real does happen.
58:56
Caller
Okay.
58:56
Adam
Can you do that, Daniel? So then you and the band can move on, have some success, and then you can not come on the show. No, seriously. Listen, I'd be fine with that. You guys sell a few records and come on the show down the road. But you can't do that from the grave. You understand?
59:16
Yeah.
59:17
Adam
All right.
59:18
Caller
Can I ask another quick question?
59:19
Caller
Sure.
59:20
Okay.
59:20
Caller
Well, I've been taking Prozac for about a month now.
59:23
Caller
No.
59:24
Drew
I believe Prozac plus Speed can cause a deadly combination too.
59:28
Caller
Yeah. I miss the days every now. Does that mean it's not going to take effect or?
59:34
Drew
No. Half life of Prozac. There's a long acting Prozac. Now you'll have to take once a week, but the usual day the one takes about seven days to get out of your system.
59:42
Caller
Okay.
59:43
Caller
Plus, man, if you're already taking medication for a psychological problem like that, you shouldn't be taking another drug that's just going to mess you up more.
59:50
Caller
Yeah.
59:51
Adam
All right, Daniel.
59:52
Caller
Okay.
59:52
Adam
You know what you got to do, but you got to do it. You're experimenting on yourself and you're going to screw yourself up.
59:58
Caller
Okay. Can I say what's up to my friends real quick?
59:59
Adam
No. Now, you focus on your sobriety, all right?
1:00:05
Caller
All right.
1:00:05
Adam
All right. What are your friends' names?
1:00:08
Oh.
1:00:10
Adam
That wasn't me. That was Anderson. All right.
1:00:16
Drew
Although, your finger was poised to do the same thing. Let's be fair.
1:00:19
Adam
Well, okay. But Anderson beat me to it. Is this a... Wait, this isn't Seca, is it? Seca?
1:00:27
Adema
Seca?
1:00:28
Adam
Seca? You know that porn star Seca, though, right?
1:00:32
Caller
No, I don't.
1:00:33
Adam
Oh, really?
1:00:34
Caller
I don't know too many.
1:00:35
Caller
I know a few, but...
1:00:36
Adam
Wow. She's a legend.
1:00:38
Drew
She alive still?
1:00:40
Adam
She died with Wendy O when the car blew up.
1:00:43
Caller
I have a couple questions, actually. I told one to the screener, but the one I was calling about is I was just wondering, is there ever a point for guys that there's too much sex with one girl?
1:00:56
Adam
If she's fat, yeah.
1:00:58
Caller
Well, I'm not fat.
1:00:59
Adam
All right, well then, no.
1:01:01
Drew
It depends on the guy. It depends on the relationship.
1:01:04
Caller
What are you calling too much?
1:01:05
Adam
Yeah.
1:01:07
Caller
Well, see, for me, I would... Like, okay, the perfect, I guess, amount of sex for me would be like...
1:01:15
Adam
Well, do it in pounds, not in times.
1:01:17
Caller
Okay, like once a day and then a blowjob every other day.
1:01:20
Adam
Damn, bitch!
1:01:22
Drew
The end of the day, would that replace the sex or be an addition to the sex? Addition.
1:01:27
Adam
So you get sex once a day and then you get the BJ every other day and then you have a sensible dinner and...
1:01:35
Drew
A light snack.
1:01:38
Adam
That sounds like a pretty good maintenance.
1:01:39
Caller
Sounds like a great relationship.
1:01:40
Adam
That's a solid maintenance plan.
1:01:42
Caller
I just don't want to, you know, bore him, I guess.
1:01:46
Adema
If he gets bored, I think...
1:01:49
Drew
Are you having some problem with your current boyfriend?
1:01:52
Caller
Well, no. Sometimes I get the sense that maybe, I mean, maybe he's just tired from work or whatever.
1:01:59
Drew
You may be up against a difference in your sort of rhythms. He may be a two or three time a week guy and you may be a once a day person.
1:02:06
Adam
Or if you're like me, like you get blown once a day and then you take the sex every other day. So like we wouldn't work out.
1:02:13
Drew
We're big problems. But the point is that people have differing needs and you have to sort of reach some sort of compromise. And if he's getting uncomfortable with this, eventually will get a little bit kind of resentful and uncomfortable and start pushing you away a little bit. You gotta stay attuned to each other.
1:02:26
Caller
Okay and the other question, I mean thank you for answering that one.
1:02:29
Drew
Some guys also freak out on women.
1:02:31
Adam
Pushing it?
1:02:32
Drew
Yeah, initiating too much.
1:02:34
Caller
No, maybe I can just be submissive or something.
1:02:37
Drew
There's a giant difference between not being aggressive and initiating and being submissive. How about just sort of sitting back and being suggestive, being open to it, but not initiating openly and see if he initiates or when he does.
1:02:51
Caller
All right.
1:02:52
Adam
All right, what's the next question?
1:02:54
Caller
It's kind of for Dr. Drew. And the other problem is he's been having, like he's been trying to call and ask you this, but he never gets through. But his right nut's been hurting. I know it's ridiculous, but I guess he called a nurse today and she said maybe it's because he's not having sex. And I just don't think that's a very logical answer.
1:03:17
Drew
Well, especially not with you as his girlfriend, but there's, listen, it could be a kidney stone. It could be a torsion. It could be something that could be quite serious. It could be a tumor. It needs to be checked out. It could be probably up to the minus or something like that, but it needs to be examined before somebody can figure out what it is.
1:03:33
Caller
Yeah, because I mean, it's not all the time. It's just a few days at a time.
1:03:38
Drew
No, but listen, it can be a lot of things. It needs to be examined. Why he'd call someone and expect that to get an accurate answer is ridiculous.
1:03:45
Adam
Can he do that? Yes. No one call this show. Zecha, can he just, does he have a doctor he can go to?
1:03:51
Adema
Yeah.
1:03:52
Adam
All right, have him do that.
1:03:53
Adema
Okay.
1:03:54
Adam
All right, you stick with that seven, three and a half policy of yours.
1:03:58
Caller
All right, thank you.
1:03:59
Adema
All right.
1:04:00
Caller
You guys have a good night.
1:04:01
Adam
Right.
1:04:02
Bye.
1:04:03
Adam
I guess a certain week you get four BJs and then other weeks you get three or because you couldn't get three and a half if you're going every other day, but there's only seven days in a week.
1:04:12
Drew
Yeah, she's going out of lunar calendar, so it just keeps going.
1:04:15
Adam
See, my thing is I do the sex every day. No, I do the BJ every day. I do the sex every other day. And then every second Sunday is Hand Job Sunday. That's where I get the, I just get the hand job. Then there's Reach Around Tuesdays. I got a whole, I'll show you my chart. You guys should see it. It's great. Anal Sex is just on Easter. And, and the Sabbath, the Jew High, High Holidays. I'm not Jewish, but I like to celebrate my own way. Amber?
1:04:49
Adema
Yeah, hi.
1:04:50
Adam
You're 19?
1:04:51
Adema
Yeah.
1:04:51
Adam
What's up?
1:04:52
Adema
I just want to say I've been listening for about five years. I think you guys are great, doing a good job. It's great.
1:04:56
Adam
Thank you.
1:04:56
Adema
And I have a question for Adema, well mostly for Mark.
1:05:00
Caller
Hi, I think you guys rock.
1:05:02
Adema
Can't wait to see you in concert.
1:05:02
Adema
Thank you very much.
1:05:04
Adema
I was wondering, the song Speculum, I really liked that song when I first heard it, like really touched me. I was just wondering, what's it about?
1:05:11
Caller
What's the story behind that?
1:05:12
Adema
Well, actually, I'll let, I'll let, let Tim answer that for you because he actually gave me the inspiration to write that song.
1:05:18
Caller
Oh, really?
1:05:19
Adema
Yeah, actually, a few years back, a real girl, a girlfriend I had that was real special to me at the time, we had broken up and apparently she was pregnant with my, with my baby and then she decided to have an abortion without telling me. So then she told me like eight months later, wanted me to forgive her and take her back. And that was kind of like my whole thing, you know, what I told Marcus, I was, you know, how I dealt with it and what it was like not to have the decision, what decision I might've made if I was, you know, would I have made the same decision? Who knows? You know what I mean? It's kind of like...
1:05:49
Adema
Oh, wow. I'm so sorry. I didn't know that.
1:05:52
Were you angry?
1:05:53
Adema
Yeah, yeah. It was weird.
1:05:55
Adema
Yeah.
1:05:55
Adema
Of course I was angry because, you know, it's, you know, women don't talk about choice and no offense not to be insensitive to women, but, you know, I think it's half a man's choice too. I mean, it's, you know, especially if you were going to be... But it isn't in the law. It isn't. But I'm just saying. In the real world, it's not. But I'm just saying, if I had to, you know, if I had to take the responsibility and raise the kid, I think I should have had a choice.
1:06:17
Drew
Did you take her back?
1:06:20
Adema
Yeah, for a little while. For like a couple of months, actually.
1:06:25
Drew
The beauty of guys.
1:06:27
Adema
I took her back for a couple of months, and then she got pregnant when I was in Torne, Europe.
1:06:31
Caller
Oh, my God.
1:06:32
Adema
Yeah. So, oops.
1:06:34
Caller
Yeah.
1:06:35
Adema
She was real nice.
1:06:38
Adema
I appreciate it.
1:06:39
Caller
Thank you.
1:06:40
Adam
Oh, you know, guys, you got to get that vengeance sex in. You know what I mean?
1:06:45
It's payback time, baby.
1:06:48
Adam
You get a little of that in, and then you're done, because then you get to sort of finish on top, according to the pun.
1:06:54
Adema
I win because I have no kids, and I'm free to go.
1:06:56
Right.
1:06:57
Adam
Right, but I would think that as far as, like, I've thought about that, too, and I would be pissed if I wanted the kid, but if I didn't want the kid, I mean, if I would have wanted the abortion anyway, I'd probably let it slide, but I'd still probably act PO'd so I could get that vengeance sex in. Yeah. Yeah.
1:07:19
Adema
And look good.
1:07:19
Right.
1:07:21
Adam
Drew, you want to go to break, or what are you doing over there? You got anything you want to sell before we hit the break? Let me call you like there. Lindsay, who's 20. She's lost the urge to do anything with her boyfriend. Oh, she's from Bakersfield. Probably in the water. Adema's here. We'll take a break. We'll be back with them and Lindsay after this.
1:07:45
Caller
Hi, this is Shaggy.
1:07:47
Caller
He's Mr. Love-A-Love up front in person and you're listening to Loveline with Adam Corolla and Dr. Drew.
1:07:59
Adam
Hey, Loveline. Drew, do you not like Shaggy?
1:08:02
Drew
I love Shaggy.
1:08:03
Adam
Oh, you love Shaggy?
1:08:04
Caller
Yeah.
1:08:04
Adam
Who's the guy you don't like?
1:08:05
Drew
Maxie Priest. Oh, that's right. I don't like him. I was having a love fest with Shaggy. He was sitting here and Maxie Priest got all mad at me because he said I was dissing him. He goes, I was talking too much to Shaggy.
1:08:16
Adam
Where was I?
1:08:17
Drew
You were away that night. Maxie Priest got out of here and had a big fit in the parking lot.
1:08:21
Adam
And left? Oh, I'm so glad I wasn't here for that.
1:08:25
Drew
It was so from out of left field. It was like 10 minutes into the show, Shaggy and I were sort of enjoying, we hadn't seen each other in a couple of years, you know?
1:08:31
Adam
Yeah.
1:08:31
Drew
This guy went insane.
1:08:33
Adam
What was the band where the guy got drunk, he got mad and walked back to the hotel?
1:08:39
Drew
Purple Pimple.
1:08:42
Adam
The Plimpsols?
1:08:43
Drew
Sneaker Pimps.
1:08:44
Adam
Sneaker Pimps? Yeah. Oh, the sneaker Pimps.
1:08:46
Adema
Plasmatics.
1:08:47
Adam
Yeah.
1:08:47
Adema
Do you have that on tape still? Plasmatics. That's right.
1:08:51
Adam
Somebody, oh yeah, I remember that right during the commercial. Yeah. The whole band was arguing and this guy kept getting drunk and he'd had an ass full of Drew and the band was yelling, he's a doctor, he knows. And the guy just got pissed and he walked back to the hotel.
1:09:07
Drew
And Adam was like, hey, come on, just have a good time, enjoy.
1:09:10
Adam
Good times, good times. We had a recording of it during the commercial break and I was just leaning back like, oh, Christ, I got to talk again. So I gave my sort of, I was really like, you know when Jimmy Carter goes on this peacekeeping mission once in a while, it was kind of like that. But a very simple Jimmy Carter, just enjoy. And he walked back to the hotel and they couldn't even find him.
1:09:35
Drew
And the hotel was 40 miles from here. But enjoy.
1:09:37
Adam
That's right.
1:09:38
Drew
Enjoy the way some sort of like fat waiter coming to an Italian restaurant in the bad part of town would tell you to enjoy your pasta.
1:09:44
Adam
Yeah, it wasn't sincere. That's true. I knew they wouldn't be around again. Adema is our guest. And so far we've had no trouble with the boys. And let's keep it that way.
1:09:55
Drew
Well, you started out in a good way.
1:09:58
Adam
Yeah, they started out on a good note with the gas. You're an asshole, Seth.
1:10:04
Drew
Well, that's what you were commuting about.
1:10:06
Adam
That's true. Seth, oh wait a minute, we weren't going to... Our caller dropped off. Seth, you're 16. What's up?
1:10:14
Caller
I'm in quite a predicament, man.
1:10:16
Caller
I don't know where to start.
1:10:17
Caller
I guess I'll start from the beginning. At the beginning of the school year, I met this girl and... I don't know, some people don't believe it but...
1:10:24
Caller
I was like, I love her first sight and... The more I got to know her, just...
1:10:28
Caller
I liked everything about her, man. I don't know. And she said she hadn't won a relationship but... You know, because it all turned out bad and everything. She's like my best friend, you know. I wouldn't trade her for like a thousand relationships.
1:10:42
It's just, I don't know.
1:10:43
Caller
Never felt like this about anybody before. I don't know, she's the first thing I think about when I wake up and the last thing I think about when I go to bed.
1:10:49
Drew
Oh boy, she's not your friend. Not in your hand.
1:10:53
Adam
So you guys never, you never went out though, right?
1:10:56
Caller
No, I've like known her all year though.
1:10:58
Drew
She doesn't want to go out.
1:10:59
Adam
Hold on, what month are we in? Have you known her for a few months?
1:11:02
Yeah.
1:11:03
Drew
Okay, so you mean four weeks?
1:11:06
Caller
No, about two and a half months.
1:11:09
Adam
You met her in September?
1:11:11
Yeah.
1:11:13
Adam
Where are we in now?
1:11:14
Drew
We're barely into October.
1:11:15
Adam
Are we in January now, or where are we?
1:11:16
Drew
You're talking about four or five weeks.
1:11:18
Adam
Two days ago, we were in the month you met her, right? You pansy. What is this, Easter? Yeah, where are we? Shouldn't we be going down to Daytona Beach, fellas? All right, so you've known her for a few weeks, but that's a long time in 16-year-old years, and you're into her, but she's not into you that way, right? No, but she is.
1:11:38
Caller
We're like friends.
1:11:40
Adam
No, she ain't.
1:11:40
Drew
Don't kid yourself.
1:11:41
Adam
No, she ain't. If she was into you, you guys would be together.
1:11:46
Drew
That's it, right?
1:11:48
Yeah, but we're just like dating.
1:11:50
Caller
We're not going out, though.
1:11:51
Adam
You're dating?
1:11:52
Yeah.
1:11:53
Drew
You go on dates?
1:11:54
Yeah, occasionally.
1:11:55
Adema
Do you kiss her?
1:11:56
Caller
Yes.
1:11:57
Adam
You do?
1:11:58
Adema
Okay.
1:11:59
Adam
Not with your tongue, though.
1:12:00
Caller
Yeah.
1:12:01
Adam
Your tongue?
1:12:02
Caller
Yeah, we're like best friends that occasionally kiss, you know.
1:12:05
Adema
For a little bit.
1:12:06
Caller
First time I kissed her when I gave her a tattoo.
1:12:09
Adam
The first time you kissed her is when?
1:12:10
Caller
When I gave her a tattoo.
1:12:12
Adam
What do you mean you gave her a tattoo?
1:12:14
Caller
Yeah, I'm like an amateur tattoo artist.
1:12:17
Adam
Oh, really? What do you guys, you guys...
1:12:19
Adema
Guitar string or something?
1:12:21
Adam
When are you getting paroled? Just in the joint, you two? You're dating some chick you met in juvie?
1:12:28
Caller
No, man.
1:12:29
Adam
Okay, so, wait a minute. Now the plot is thickening just a little bit. What did you give her a tattoo of, by the way?
1:12:35
Caller
A rose.
1:12:36
Adam
I would have... You should put your name on her boob or something.
1:12:39
Caller
How old is she?
1:12:41
Caller
She's the same age as I am.
1:12:42
Adam
She's 16, but somehow she ain't looking at you like a boyfriend, right?
1:12:48
Caller
No, it's just... I don't know.
1:12:50
Drew
Stop making excuses. Just stay with the facts.
1:12:52
Adam
Seth, Seth, let me just ask you this. If she was into you one-tenth the amount you're into her, would you be calling us?
1:13:00
Caller
Yes, but I'm asking you advice.
1:13:03
Caller
How do I tell her I love her?
1:13:05
Adam
I think she knows you're into her.
1:13:07
Drew
Yeah, why would you tell her that?
1:13:08
Caller
I don't know. I just care so much about her.
1:13:11
Drew
But she doesn't reciprocate, Seth, not the same way. Don't kid yourself.
1:13:15
Adam
She doesn't feel that way about you. She knows you're into her. She told you that she didn't want a commitment, right?
1:13:22
Caller
Yeah, she just didn't want a relationship.
1:13:23
Drew
Seth, just think about it this way. Even if you didn't want a relationship, if you were as half into her as you actually are, wouldn't you be going for it with her?
1:13:32
Caller
Yeah.
1:13:33
Drew
Okay, so she's not even, she's not even.
1:13:35
Caller
I don't know, but the problem is, you know, she says that when people get too close to her, she pushes them away and, you know, she doesn't want to lose this, you know, friendship.
1:13:42
Drew
Well, she's 16.
1:13:43
That's an old one. Yeah, that's an old one.
1:13:47
Adam
Hey, Seth, I'll tell you what you can do then. If you're so sure that she's into you, you can tell her your true feelings and see what she says. I guarantee it ain't going to be good. And you got to accept reality, all right? That's part of being a man. It's tough.
1:14:08
Drew
It's possible that she's so disturbed, she can't have relationships. But in either case, you ain't having a relationship with her.
1:14:14
Adam
And don't get into that weird, suicidal, freak out, carve your name into your arm and all that kind of stuff. We all got into it. Ain't worth it. But man, remember those days when you listen to people? I mean, you know, when people told you either why you were being fired or why they couldn't go out with you and you believe them?
1:14:33
Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
1:14:34
Adema
That always sucked.
1:14:36
Adam
I mean, how true is this in terms of women? If there's not another guy in the picture, if there is a single woman and she ain't going out with you, it's because she does not want to go out with you. And it does not matter what reason she serves up because they start getting into that right now. Or it's not a good time, you're such a good friend.
1:14:58
Caller
One thing that's kind of weird is that she's actually kissing him.
1:15:00
Adam
What I think it is is that...
1:15:02
Adema
That was a little twist.
1:15:05
Caller
I think what it is is she's looking for a fan club. She wants to keep him along just enough so that he stays with that, just so she can lead him on enough.
1:15:12
Drew
And then when she finds a guy who really treats her like crap, she's going to go for that big time.
1:15:15
Caller
Exactly.
1:15:16
Caller
That's what's going to happen.
1:15:17
Adam
And let me tell you, warn you something young men out there. Women have this gene, guys don't. Meaning, a woman, a young woman, will like a guy around to really make her feel good. Not all of them. And it's not necessarily because they're evil or diabolical, although many of you are. But they feel good about that. Here's some guy who would rather go on one date with her than a thousand dates with a thousand supermodels. And that's got to make you feel pretty good when this guy's carrying your books around. Guys don't really have that. Either you would like to bang the bejesus out of this girl, or you wouldn't. And if you wouldn't, you don't care. Because how good can it make you feel having someone follow you around who you don't want to bang? That's how guys feel. And they're just getting in the way of the ones you do want to have sex with now.
1:16:12
Adema
Everybody thinks you're dating that one.
1:16:14
Caller
Exactly. Who wants that?
1:16:15
Caller
Right.
1:16:18
Adam
Michael?
1:16:19
Adema
Yeah.
1:16:19
Adam
You're 21.
1:16:20
Caller
What's going on?
1:16:21
Adam
What's up?
1:16:22
Caller
Got a problem. Ever since I was 13, I started masturbating. And every time I would reach ejaculation, my right testicle would go up inside of me.
1:16:32
Drew
That's normal.
1:16:32
Adam
Right.
1:16:33
Caller
Normal.
1:16:33
Drew
Yep. Happens to some people. The other thing you had for eight years hasn't done anything to you, has it?
1:16:38
Caller
Well, no. But a friend of mine, when I lived in Virginia, a friend of mine's brother, he had the same thing. And he wound up having to have surgery and having one of his testicles removed because they got into a knot.
1:16:52
Drew
Yeah, that's a different thing. They got into a knot. There's nothing to do with the testicles coming up into the abdomen like that.
1:16:57
Caller
What causes that?
1:16:58
Drew
Your testes start up in your back when you're developing and they drop down into the sac early in life. And there's a pathway that can be left behind when you have the contractions of ejaculation that will pull it back up into that old path.
1:17:11
Caller
And is it possible that it could get stuck up there?
1:17:16
Drew
I've never seen that, but I guess it's possible.
1:17:17
Adam
How does that work? I mean, what I'm saying is, you know some guys can like suck a noodle through their nose and it'll come out their mouth?
1:17:25
Caller
Yeah, I used to do that. Well, there you go.
1:17:27
Caller
It's the same guy.
1:17:29
Caller
Hell yeah. It's the same guy.
1:17:31
Adam
That's what I'm saying. I mean, those pathways are open in some people and not in others, right?
1:17:36
Drew
Right.
1:17:37
Adam
And that's the same with this.
1:17:38
Caller
I wasn't sure if it was linked to possible drug and alcohol use.
1:17:41
Drew
No, no, no, no, no.
1:17:44
Adam
And then there's those guys who can suck a noodle up their ass. It comes up their urethra.
1:17:49
Drew
That's a good one.
1:17:49
Adam
Yeah, I've seen that one.
1:17:51
Drew
That sounds pretty special. The guy we opened with tonight, do you think?
1:17:53
Adam
I think he could suck like an ottoman up his ass. Like a loveseat up his ass, that's what I'm saying.
1:18:01
Drew
You're going to shoot it out of your urethra?
1:18:03
Adam
Yeah.
1:18:04
Caller
Ow.
1:18:05
Adam
All right, you ever see a movie, Weird Signs? Yeah. Remember when everything was getting sucked up the chimney and shot out to the top of the roof? That was like his ass. Hey, Michael, you're fine. You do what I do. You put one of those zip ties around the top of the sack before you masturbate. And watch out. You got to cut them off using fingernail clippers. And sometimes, you know, your hands a little shaky because you're still a little flush from the experience.
1:18:36
Drew
It's better to work a little bit like a nail clipper. It's a little.
1:18:39
Adam
Right. Right. That's what I'm saying. You still got to be careful. But, Drew, it is true that if you pinched off that area, it couldn't get up there, right?
1:18:47
Drew
It actually goes up into the groin. You have to kind of push down.
1:18:50
Adam
No, but I'm saying if it's out and it's going to start to sort of migrate back up there.
1:18:56
Drew
Again, you're thinking about it going straight up. It kind of comes forward.
1:18:59
Adam
But couldn't you?
1:19:00
Drew
I guess you could. Yes.
1:19:01
Adam
Yes.
1:19:02
Adema
I'm a genius.
1:19:03
Adam
Admit I'm a genius. If the nuts are hanging in the sack, they're hanging in the sack.
1:19:11
Adema
Give me my ball.
1:19:15
Adam
You know I'm right.
1:19:15
Adema
If you hold the one nut with your offhand though.
1:19:20
Adam
There you go. That's what you do. What do you work the VCR with? Your foot? Use your head. No, use the zip tie.
1:19:28
Adema
I'm not going to turn pages.
1:19:29
Adam
That's right. Drew's got the anatomical thought.
1:19:33
Drew
You're thinking it's going to go straight up like this. It comes forward and goes up like that.
1:19:39
Adam
But I'm saying if you still pinch that sack, I could pinch my sack off.
1:19:44
Drew
Pinch your sack off. Enjoy.
1:19:45
Adam
That makes sense.
1:19:46
Drew
Abundance.
1:19:47
Adam
He knows. He knows I'm right. All right. We will... Should we hear a song from Adema?
1:19:52
Drew
Yes, we should.
1:19:52
Adam
Want to do that? You all right there, Anderson? All right. Let's do it. It's called The Way You Like. All right, we're going to take ourselves a little break. Adema is our guest tonight. We have a very interesting story to tell you about when we come back. Thank you. Yes, Dr. Drew is our guest tonight. Thank you. Adema is our guest tonight. Dr. Drew, tell us about the testes. Phone number. Do we need the phone number? No.
1:24:03
Caller
No, all right.
1:24:05
Adam
What are we doing? Who's going to tell the story? Mike, Mark, who had the story about the World Trade Center? Was it everybody?
1:24:13
Caller
Well, like me, Mike, me and our drummer, Chris Coles, like about a night and a half before the tragedy happened, we were actually up at the 174th floor of the North Building.
1:24:26
Adam
Up at the restaurant? Yeah. They call it View to the World.
1:24:30
Adema
When is the World?
1:24:31
Drew
When is the World?
1:24:33
Caller
Yeah, we were up there drinking. Wow. And then the day that it happened, we were in Hamburg, Germany, and they canceled the show there. The government canceled the show and they actually arrested people that were involved with it.
1:24:45
Adam
It's weird that you guys, I mean, there was a couple of specs on this planet that were very much involved with this tragedy, and you were kind of in both places in a 48-hour period pretty much, right? Yeah. Hamburg is where they were rounding up a lot of guys, and they thought that the guys initially was their first stop, I think, before they came to the United States or they did some training or set up shop over there.
1:25:14
Adema
They went to college there, I think. They went to a university there, a couple of pilots, I think.
1:25:19
Adam
I'll tell you, I miss the old Nazi regime over there in Germany where anybody without blue eyes would get rounded up. I mean, it doesn't seem like such a bad plan anymore, does it, Drew? All right, and so, I mean, obviously, you were at the top there and you were staring out the window and it just, I mean, you couldn't imagine being up any higher.
1:25:40
Caller
Yeah.
1:25:41
Drew
Being up there when the thing was starting falling or just jumping out, those ideas are just uncomfortable.
1:25:45
Caller
It makes me sick to even think about it.
1:25:47
Adam
Yeah, and it wasn't, I mean, not to get too morbid here, but anybody, and I did see, I saw the interview with a guy who managed that restaurant, and the guy was just grief struck because he had all these employees and guys up there prepping, and waiters, and waitresses, and the kitchen guys, and anybody was up higher than where the plane hit, obviously, was not getting down, and then when that thing went, oh my God, I just couldn't imagine that, and geez, how freaky was it for you to be in Germany and see that footage?
1:26:26
Caller
Well, it was scary because all the footage was in Czech, and I mean, in German, I mean, and obviously we don't understand that, and the TV had bad reception, the people were tripping. Yeah, the people that were translating to us even told us that the White House had gotten hit, and so we didn't know.
1:26:42
Adema
We heard that there were like a dozen planes heading to California, and they didn't know. We heard some crazy things.
1:26:47
Caller
We heard that they were shooting down American planes that weren't responding, and that that already happened to four. So we were all scared for our families, you know, and we have a lot of friends in New York and all around the country, and it was just...
1:26:58
Drew
Were these news broadcasts that they were translating?
1:27:00
Adema
Well, no, people will come up to us and say, we think that, you know, in Germany, they weren't getting correct information, obviously, you know what I mean? It was just a weird thing, because it was just rumors running rampant. We couldn't find anything. We couldn't find any truth or anything that was going on. Everybody was kind of weird out back.
1:27:15
Adam
I thankfully sleep until about 1030 in the morning, so everything was all sorted out by the time. That's my plan. I wake up at noon, everyone gets on the same page, gets everything sorted out, and I get the real dirt.
1:27:29
Drew
This sort of put a damper on your plan to have the phone off the ringer all the time. I mean, what if we really needed to get a hold of you?
1:27:34
Adam
I know. I swear to God, I woke up, I got a mess, I check my messages like I do, because I always have five calls before I get up, and the first one had that voice going, sent at 722, and the first thought was, yes, this is why I shut my ringer. It was my stepmom said, turn on the TV, turn on the TV, and she hung up, and I thought, I must be on TV. So not only do I sleep late, but I'm such a narcissist. I figured, I must be on TV. And I said, bitch, and tell me what channel I was on. Maybe I T-vote it. And it was weird, like I thought, well, she called at 730, it's noon. Maybe I'm still on TV. I'll go, I'll check it out. And then of course, then it was all the tragedy after that. But yeah, yeah, it was a freaky, it's freaky too when you're disoriented, like when you know you're groggy and you got that morning wood and hearing these messages saying turn on the TV and everyone's freaking out. You're thinking your first thought is somebody you know, or somebody, what a mess, what a mess. All right, let's talk to Joe over here. Joe's 20. Joe?
1:28:48
Hey.
1:28:49
Adam
Hey.
1:28:50
Anyways, good show.
1:28:52
Adam
Thanks.
1:28:53
And I'd like to say it's really weird that people leave their radios on since you guys patched it in way before I'm on.
1:29:00
Drew
Yeah.
1:29:01
So those guys are pretty stupid.
1:29:02
Adam
Thank you.
1:29:03
Here's my question. Last night, for the first time ever, I had sex.
1:29:10
Drew
You're 20.
1:29:12
Caller
Yeah, I know.
1:29:15
Adam
Tonight he kills himself because Drew made fun of it.
1:29:19
Caller
That's cool. But anyways, so I was going with the girl and I was just, you know, humping away for like 20 minutes, maybe half an hour, and I could not ejaculate.
1:29:31
Adam
Right.
1:29:32
Drew
Were you nervous?
1:29:34
Caller
Not really. Afterwards, I thought it was kind of weird because we stopped because she's like, she was starting to get sensitive and I'm like, hey, I'm not going anywhere. I was still erect and everything.
1:29:44
Drew
But are you on any medication?
1:29:46
Caller
No.
1:29:46
Drew
Do you ejaculate normally when you masturbate?
1:29:48
Caller
Yeah.
1:29:50
Drew
You figure this out.
1:29:51
Adam
But also, after eight years of steady beaten off, the vagina must have been such a new environment for your penis that it was probably confused.
1:30:01
Drew
Did you beat off?
1:30:02
Adam
It's like, hey, wait a minute, this thing doesn't have knuckles.
1:30:06
Adema
Or calluses.
1:30:09
Adam
No class ring, no knuckles, no lubriderm.
1:30:12
Drew
What the hell?
1:30:13
Adam
Where am I?
1:30:17
Drew
Very, very common for guys their first time out to have some kind of sexual dysfunction. Very common. So there you go.
1:30:22
Adam
Is this a girl friend?
1:30:23
Adema
That's a dysfunction?
1:30:26
Caller
He is a very good friend of mine and like we were hanging out at my house and actually we went to bed and she was crashing in my room because my roommates don't appreciate when people crash in like the living room or whatever and we started fooling around.
1:30:42
Adam
Well, do you want to keep it going with her?
1:30:46
Caller
I don't know. It's like it's kind of weird right now. I mean we're still friends but...
1:30:51
Drew
She crashed in there because she wanted to do this with you Joe.
1:30:55
Caller
She's telling me she's not interested in being boyfriend and girlfriend.
1:30:57
Drew
That's because she knows you're not.
1:30:59
Caller
Okay.
1:31:00
Adam
Joe, you better get your licks in. Do you understand me? You need some practice.
1:31:06
Caller
Yeah. I was just wondering about that because we did it again the next morning and everything worked fine.
1:31:13
There you go.
1:31:14
Drew
Thanks for the call.
1:31:16
Adam
You just had to prime the pump.
1:31:19
Drew
Just had to announce that he lost his virginity.
1:31:22
Adam
Right. That's all that was. All right. Adema is here.
1:31:24
Caller
We're going to take a break.
1:31:25
Caller
We'll be right back.
1:31:26
Adam
We've got the cast of Roswell and Sey Faris. Angelica Bridges is going to be in here. She's good and hot. I want to thank Adema for coming in tonight. Go out and get that Adema record please so they can get out of Bakersfield.
1:31:43
Adema
Stay out of our bands.
1:31:46
Adam
They'll be at the Palladium tomorrow night if you're out here in LA. Thanks a lot, guys.
1:31:51
Adema
Thank you very much.
1:31:52
Adam
Fun show with you guys. I want to thank, who do I want to thank, Drew?
1:31:56
Adema
Damien.
1:31:57
Adam
Damien Penispump, the phone screener.
1:32:01
Drew
Tara Don't Call Me Tara.
1:32:02
Adam
Tara Don't Call Me Tara, god damn. For doing a great job on the phones. And I was going to say on coffee, but we didn't get any coffee tonight, did we?
1:32:09
Drew
Yeah, I sure did.
1:32:09
Adam
Oh, you did? Oh, maybe I drank two cups and forgot about it.
1:32:12
Drew
And?
1:32:13
Adam
Oh, yes, producer, and for putting her feminine snake on the show and doing a great job booking all these great guests like Adima and Anderson for working his magic on the board. He's an idiot. He is. And until next time, this is Adam Crowell for Dr. Drew saying mahalo.
1:32:27
Drew
There's no such thing as a child.
1:32:31
