Hey, everybody, it's the Love Line. I'm Adam Corolla. That's Dr. Drew. Dr. Drew, board-certified physician and addiction medicine specialist. Phone number, 1-800-LOVE-191. Lysa Mateu is our guest tonight. Lysa was on the show a year ago on Valentine's Day. Is that correct? Right. I made fun of her. We got into many arguments. She was three for 14, 15, something like that on her.
6:28
Drew
Did you get the angry letters from the people?
6:31
Adam
The angry letters? Yeah, that I faxed to you. Were there angry letters?
6:35
Drew
A lot, yeah.
6:36
Adam
You know what?
6:38
Lysa Mateu
Adam doesn't read letters.
6:40
Adam
I haven't seen a letter since I've been on the show for almost seven years now. It's interesting as you bring that up because I always thought that when you hosted a national radio show, if you said something stupid, you'd be getting all kinds of letters, faxes, and emails, and things like that. You might be.
6:58
Lysa Mateu
They may just be shielding you from them. Because imagine what would happen if some of those got in your hands. Kiss my ass, you'll be pussies, you'll be blonde and on and on.
7:08
Adam
Well, you may be right. But Drew, do we ever see anything on this show?
7:11
Lysa Mateu
No.
7:11
Adam
I don't believe you said that. To be fair, we don't see any complimentary stuff either. We just don't see anything. What happened is people-
7:22
Lysa Mateu
Lauren, you have to.
7:24
Drew
I got at least, and I faxed about 15 of them. I was going to bring them tonight, but I decided not to. I can't really fax them to you. Letters just, they were angry at you, saying that you treated me unfairly, that they heard me say that a man's wife was cheating on him before he said it, and you said, no, I didn't say that I said he was gay or something.
7:44
Adam
Well, listen, to be fair to me, had you been right 35 percent of the time, I would have eased up, but you were just talking, you're having a bad night, that's all.
7:53
Drew
I get, okay, I'm not going to go there tonight. That's what I decided.
7:56
Adam
That's right. What about the terrorist attacks? Why weren't you guys on top of this one?
8:01
Drew
It's not about being, it's about if I right now had to take in everything that's happening in the world, every murder, every rape, everybody doing something that they're not supposed to, I would be going nuts. So obviously, I'm not tuning in, it's all about tuning in.
8:14
Adam
Well, why don't some of the psychic folks tune in on the big stuff?
8:19
Drew
Oh, they can tune in. I mean, I did a reading for a woman whose husband died on Flight 11. I didn't know that when she came in for a reading, brought through enormous amounts of information about her baby that is not born yet, that she thought was a girl. He says it's a boy. She just found out it's going to be a boy.
8:36
Adam
How does he know it's a boy, though?
8:38
Drew
This is what he said. I mean, and I have it all on tape, so there's no changing anything. It's about healing people. It's not about proving you're right or wrong.
8:46
Adam
It's about making a difference. All right, I'm just saying a little heads up. Instead of talking to people after they're dead, you give us the heads up, unless people die.
8:54
Drew
Absolutely. And it's about if no matter how renown you are as a psychic, if I would have told everybody not to go there, I mean, I wasn't in the country at the time, but if I had picked that up and would have told people not to go to work, do you think that the planes wouldn't have flown or the people wouldn't go to work?
9:09
Adam
No, but then we'd believe you next time you had some kind of hair-brained.
9:12
Drew
It's not about that.
9:14
Adam
All right. Well, if it's not about that, then you shouldn't be upset when I don't believe you.
9:18
Drew
But it's about what about you doesn't believe what is right there. I sent you a videotape. I have all my radio shows.
9:24
Adam
Where is that videotape?
9:26
Drew
Ask.
9:26
Adam
Where is everything? You should have brought that stuff in. All right. Well, anyway, where's Ann? She's with the videotape. Now, where is Ann? I'd like to know. That's where we could really get some use out of the psychic. All right. Well, the book is out and this is your book. It's called Conversations with the Spirit World. Why don't you tell us about that?
9:48
Drew
That occurred when a friend of mine killed himself. And what happened after that is I started to receive information from 17 people that I didn't realize were dead until afterwards where I contacted the parents and found out where they lived and details about them ended up being true.
10:03
Adam
How did you find the parents?
10:05
Drew
Through, I got the first version is 360 pages. And I got addresses and I got names and I got how it happened. I didn't find out everything about 17. I found out about 11. The rest of them I didn't confirm or not. But the information that they gave was really profound. And that book has helped so many people not kill themselves because they realize that your mission doesn't end just because you leave your body.
10:26
Adam
So you kill yourself and then you're still miserable. You're just, you're just without, without.
10:30
Drew
It's not about being miserable. Misery is a choice. I mean, you know, anybody who says they've been depressed for five years, they're not depressed for five years straight. They have other emotions. They just don't acknowledge them as much as they acknowledge the depression.
10:41
Adam
Well, well, that's depression. Right.
10:43
Drew
But it's not about the truth, is that people look for suicide as a way of getting out of pain.
10:48
Adam
Right.
10:49
Drew
As if, and I always ask people, have you ever killed yourself before?
10:52
Adam
Right.
10:52
Drew
And they say, of course not. Well, how do you know what it's like? They look at it as if they know it's going to be better, but they've never been there before, so they have no idea.
10:59
Adam
So you find that people you've spoken to, now they always talk about, so you can't, well, I don't know, are you a religious person?
11:08
Drew
No.
11:08
Adam
Oh, that's good. At least we got that going for us. You don't believe in that nonsense, do you?
11:15
Drew
No, I think it's a way to get, I mean, I'm more into spirituality, but I believe you can, if you want to talk to a tree, you know, and that makes you feel good, do that, but don't try to preach to me to talk to a tree.
11:23
Adam
All right, but what you're saying is, and we have a lot of young people who may be considering killing themselves, especially if we keep talking. If you kill yourself because you're depressed, you're unhappy, then your spirit will go on and it won't necessarily be any happier. You may just be depressed for the rest of eternity.
11:44
Drew
No, it's not about being depressed, it's about living in a body, they're not looking, in order to kill yourself. At that moment, you have to negate everything that's good in your life, which means I've had parents that kill themselves who they can't think about their kids, they can't think about tomorrow, they can't think about feeling happy. So the moment they die, it's like the veil is lifted and they see who they left behind. And that's painful, but they also have to deal with that. And just like they continue to grow, so do we. They're not, you know, eternally down from misery. I mean, people ask me if there's a hell. I've met people in Hawaii who are in more hell than any kind of hell you can go to when you die.
12:17
Adam
Well, those are the people who got to work in the kitchen.
12:19
Drew
Yeah, that's right.
12:19
Adam
Over there, like when we're at the Four Seasons doing the buffet. It's usually the Mexican guys working the Belgian waffle maker. That's hell in paradise. I'm up there on my fifth tour.
12:30
Lysa Mateu
Total full of shame.
12:31
Adam
I've had too many Bloody Marys, and I'm screaming about him being out of chutney.
12:36
Lysa Mateu
Yelling about your mom.
12:38
Adam
Well, listen, should people kill themselves or not, then? I don't understand.
12:42
Drew
No, it's absolutely not.
12:43
Adam
You're here. They should? Oh, they shouldn't.
12:45
Drew
They're here for a reason. And the bottom line is that I've helped. I've done sessions with people that there's a gun on their table. I mean, they're ready to kill themselves. They have the note. And I will never tell somebody. Everybody says, don't do it. Now, if you're not going to do it, you're not going to do it. If you're going to do it, you're going to do it. People telling you not to doesn't give you a reason to live. What I do is I help people find a reason to live.
13:05
Adam
Is everyone here for a reason?
13:07
Drew
Absolutely. You're not a mistake.
13:09
Adam
Well, what about, my mom says I was, but what about, what could your reason be as simple as, let's say, worshipping me? Like helping me with my reason to be here? Being worshipped, for instance?
13:19
Drew
So that's my reason to be here?
13:21
Adam
Well, not you per se, but let's say other folks.
13:23
Drew
No, your reason to be here is separate from, you can do work and contribute, but you're not here for someone else.
13:30
Adam
I see. All right. All right. So everyone's got, and if you kill yourself, your spirit can be unhappy for quite a while.
13:38
Drew
Yeah, it's not a way out.
13:39
Adam
All right. Okay. Heather?
13:42
Drew
Yes.
13:42
Adam
You're 17?
13:43
Caller
I sure am, and I'm in Hawaii and it is not hell over here.
13:47
Drew
That's good.
13:47
Caller
Wow. And I'm not working in a kitchen either.
13:50
Adam
Well, you see, then you would be.
13:52
Caller
Yeah.
13:53
Adam
What's up?
13:53
Caller
All right. I was just wondering how effective the pullout method was.
13:58
Lysa Mateu
Really not. Really not.
14:01
Caller
How high is the sperm content in the pre-ejaculatory fluid?
14:04
Lysa Mateu
It's different in different people, but in some men, it's quite concentrated.
14:08
Adam
Yeah, it's tough, too, because when the notion, I better pull out, hits a guy sort of physiologically, it means the wheels are turning down there already. I mean, I think, Drew, wouldn't you say that the pullout technique would be much more effective if you pulled out at the halfway point?
14:27
Lysa Mateu
Yeah, before orgasm became an issue.
14:29
Adam
Right.
14:30
Caller
Adam, I also wanted to say that I love you, and I was wondering if I could be your valentine or if you could be mine.
14:36
Adam
Yeah, all right, all right, we'll do that.
14:38
Caller
All right, and another thing is, is everybody thinks I'm crazy, but I'm like obsessed with the man show.
14:43
Adam
Oh, baby.
14:46
Lysa Mateu
I love the way she offers that comment. Adam, I love you, will you be my valentine? Everyone thinks I'm crazy.
14:53
Adam
Oh, yeah. All right, yeah, I'll be your valentine.
14:55
Caller
I jump on the trampoline too, and I had my little sister take a picture of me jumping on the trampoline.
15:00
Adam
Thanks, baby.
15:01
Lysa Mateu
You are 17.
15:02
Caller
You will know me in Hollywood, Adam. I want you to know that because I'm rising in the radio industry as well.
15:08
Adam
Oh, okay. Yes, same. Via your appearances on this show or do you have another gig?
15:14
No, no, no, no.
15:16
Caller
You'll just remember and I'll say hi to you.
15:18
Adam
Listen, you're talking to the guy.
15:20
Caller
I'm a stand-up comedian.
15:21
Adam
Okay. I'm just...
15:22
Lysa Mateu
I'm a funny lady.
15:23
Adam
I was going to tell you, I don't know a lot about Hollywood. You're talking about the guy who almost got in a fist fight with the guy who runs the biggest talent agency out here at Dodger Stadium because I thought the guy was a coach on a farm team.
15:36
Lysa Mateu
In terms of you remembering when someone says hi to you, I say hi to you, you're like, huh?
15:39
Adam
What? Yeah, I don't know any celebrities. But keep going there. Is that Heather? Yeah, and Lysa, what we should try to do is get some calls for Lysa tonight because she's a psychic and it's Valentine's and maybe you have some questions. A lot of people want to know where their relationship's heading.
15:56
Drew
That's the number one question.
15:57
Adam
You could help out on that?
15:58
Drew
Yeah, absolutely. And one of the things when I do psychic work, it's not if they say, am I ever going to find love? Am I ever going to meet the one? They play a role in that. This is not a passive thing.
16:08
Adam
Right. So you can't just sit back and if Lysa says you're going to find love, you can't just bolt the doors and put a syringe in your arm and just lie on the sofa until Prince Charming shows up. All right. Let's talk to Josie. See, I'm so trained. I want to say Jose.
16:26
Caller
Hello.
16:26
Adam
Josie.
16:27
Caller
Hi. Good evening.
16:28
Adam
God damn Los Angeles.
16:29
Caller
Happy Valentine's to you all.
16:31
Adam
You too. What's up?
16:32
Caller
Thank you. Actually, my question was directed more to the doctor because I know he's a parent, but I'm glad there's a woman on the show tonight because I thought maybe she could give an opinion too. I'm divorced and I have two children, and when I was separated, my husband basically just abandoned me completely, and the children, he split.
16:53
Lysa Mateu
Wait, when you were separated?
16:56
Caller
When we very first separated, he just said-
16:58
Lysa Mateu
He took off.
16:59
Caller
Yeah, he completely took off with his girlfriend. About six months after that, he contacted me and asked me if he could see the children because he was going to move out of the state. And I said no, because he wasn't in their life. You know what I mean? I thought it would be traumatic.
17:15
Lysa Mateu
Are you divorced now?
17:16
Caller
Yes.
17:17
Lysa Mateu
And does he have visitation rights?
17:19
Caller
No.
17:19
Adam
Well, you said no, because you're pissed.
17:21
Caller
Yeah, no, no, no. No, I'm leading up to that. The reason why I said no for him to see the children one last time is because they're small. And I thought it would be traumatic, them seeing their dad one more time and not knowing if he would ever be back. And I didn't know if he'd be back.
17:36
Lysa Mateu
Right.
17:36
Adam
And how long after that?
17:39
Caller
Then he came.
17:40
Adam
Well, when did he split? How long after he split was this?
17:44
Lysa Mateu
Six months.
17:45
Caller
Six months after I had not spoken to him.
17:47
Adam
Six months. He wanted to see us. All right. How old were the kids?
17:50
Caller
The kids are two and three.
17:51
Adam
All right.
17:52
Caller
And I said no the first time. Anyway, so he's back in the area now and he's basically just harassing me. And he's trying to get full custody.
18:04
Lysa Mateu
And he currently has no visitation rights.
18:06
Caller
No. But here's the situation. He's in a place now where he's living with about three or four drug addicts. And his girlfriend is pregnant and also on drugs and has had her children, not his children, but her children before, taken away in CPS's custody for abuse. And my children now are well adjusted. I'm currently on the road to being remarried and they're perfectly happy. I'm sorry.
18:34
Adam
Yeah, who's this guy? Drew doesn't trust it.
18:36
Drew
He's not at all.
18:37
Caller
I'm sorry.
18:39
Adam
The new man.
18:40
Caller
The new man?
18:40
Adam
We worry about him.
18:42
Caller
He's somebody that I've known for years now. And he's really great with the kids and the kids seem to love him. And he's going to be their stepfather. And he's basically just stepped up to the plate and done everything that a dad is supposed to do without any question.
18:56
Adam
Hold on a second. Here's what I'm worried about. Nice guy, friend guy, has been waiting.
19:04
Lysa Mateu
Quietly by.
19:05
Adam
Waiting by to make his move. She now, he serves a purpose. He's in there. She's changed her life around. I hope she doesn't start freaking on him in about two years.
19:14
Lysa Mateu
I don't think she will. No, no.
19:15
Adam
She got it together? She's got that. She's only 22.
19:19
Lysa Mateu
She'll, yeah.
19:21
Adam
Josie?
19:22
Caller
Yes?
19:23
Adam
Yeah.
19:24
Caller
Well, see.
19:24
Adam
This guy's a nice guy. This new guy. You know that, right?
19:27
Caller
Right.
19:28
Adam
And that means you may not be attracted to him a year from now. You know what I'm saying?
19:33
Caller
No. The ex-husband was cheating, was an alcoholic.
19:37
Lysa Mateu
Yeah, I understand. But you go for that kind of guy because your dad or mom was an alcoholic-radic, right?
19:43
Caller
No, not at all. I just, I just.
19:45
Lysa Mateu
Where did you come up, where did you learn to be a caretaker like that?
19:48
Caller
I have no idea. I just, I got married when I was 17.
19:52
Lysa Mateu
What was the hurry to get out of your house?
19:54
Caller
Basically.
19:55
Lysa Mateu
Why? Why?
19:57
Caller
Why? Because I believe my mom was a little abusive.
20:01
Lysa Mateu
She wasn't drinking?
20:03
Caller
She was verbally abusive and a little bit mean.
20:06
Lysa Mateu
She wasn't using alcohol, would she?
20:08
Caller
To put, no.
20:08
Drew
You're lightening that, her being a little bit mean.
20:12
Caller
Well, no. I mean, she wasn't physically abusive. But she, okay, like when I was a little girl and stuff, she thought I was a little bit overweight. So she would put locks on the cabinets and the fridge and stuff, and I wouldn't allow to eat for like a week or two at a time.
20:25
Drew
That's physically abusive.
20:27
Caller
You think so?
20:28
Drew
Absolutely. She's restraining you from getting nourishment. That's physically harming you.
20:32
Adam
Yeah. Your mom was a bigger piece of work than you're letting us on. We got a psychic here tonight.
20:38
Caller
She was.
20:39
Adam
And Drew and I were just sort of psychic based on knowing the repetitive nature of human nature.
20:45
Caller
The thing with the marriages is I got in there and I know it was wrong and really immature of me. But like he said, I was the caretaker and I took care of him when he was drunk and doing his drugs and stuff. And I took care of the children.
21:00
Adam
All right. Well, listen, we're glad you're back on the road to health and success. I'm just saying keep your eyes open with this new guy.
21:08
Caller
Well, the whole purpose for the call was I was wondering, am I doing any, do you feel that I'm doing any sort of harm as a parent not allowing this man to be a part of his children's life or do you think they're well adjusted now and they have a father figure?
21:25
Lysa Mateu
I think let this new stepdad do his job.
21:27
Adam
Yeah.
21:28
Lysa Mateu
Period.
21:28
Caller
Yeah.
21:29
Drew
And absolutely. And report threats that come from your ex because there's, you know, they have to be reported. He's going to stick around and definitely do threats. So you need to report that and not play the nice woman.
21:39
Adam
And, you know, once you give up the first litter of kids up to Child Protective Services and you're young, fertile gal, can't we put a dart in here or something, make sure this doesn't happen again? Is that that? It's not profoundly disturbing to everybody that somebody has a kid, maybe two kids or three kids. You're strung out on God knows what, the kids go into Child Protective Services. And then a year and a half, two years later, you got another kid coming. That doesn't smack of something just sort of horribly wrong to people.
22:15
Drew
Absolutely.
22:17
Adam
And are we that worried about people's rights that we can't shove a little manure plant in some of these bitches and get this problem solved?
22:26
Drew
And whose rights are you talking about? You're talking about the rights of the parent, the rights of the kids to say, you know what? I didn't come here for this trip, you know?
22:33
Adam
Well, it's not only that, but what about societal rights? Like a guy says, well, I got the right to walk around with my pants around my ankles in the subway station. It's like, no, you don't because we see you. Meaning we're affected by you. Yes, that is your right at home is not your right because we're affected by this. And when you crank out a bunch of kids you can't take care of.
22:55
Drew
We're affected by it.
22:57
Adam
All right. He's scoring some points there.
23:00
Lysa Mateu
Now, I'm curious.
23:00
Drew
That's a strong belief I have about what you're saying.
23:02
Lysa Mateu
Now, what do you do when you were talking to Josie? Do you tune into something?
23:04
Drew
Yeah, like, I mean, that's why I started taking notes because I didn't want to interrupt you. But immediately I'll start seeing things with the X with drugs thing. And if you want me to.
23:11
Lysa Mateu
What do you see?
23:12
Drew
I'll just see someone smoking weed or someone taking a lot of pills. Definitely see, I wrote down gun, but then I crossed it out. Definitely see a lot of threats with this guy. I mean, like threats and getting in the way and she's got it. She tries to tippy toe and so worried about doing the wrong thing. And it's a lot of protective. That's why I brought up with the mother. Verbally abusive. No, there was a lot of stuff. I mean, locked in the closet. There's a lot of stuff that her mother did that she wasn't willing to say. And until she owns up to it and just sees like, look, this is how bad it was. Until you can see that you can't make the change. So she does a lot of protecting.
23:45
Adam
Well, let's let's take another one for Lysa over here.
23:48
Lysa Mateu
But it couldn't just be aren't you just an intuitive person and tuning into something?
23:53
Drew
Well, it depends, like, of course. I mean, yeah.
23:56
Lysa Mateu
Why does it have to go to?
23:57
Drew
Because I could say this stuff before she says a word.
23:59
Adam
Drew, don't bust the chops of our guest.
24:01
Lysa Mateu
No, I'm curious.
24:02
Adam
How dare you?
24:03
Drew
When she got on the phone and she just started speaking, I could say to her, I could say to her the situation that was going on. She can ask a question, but she doesn't have to go into that whole story. And I can tell her what I say.
24:13
Lysa Mateu
But why do you have to go into this business about people on the other side and all that stuff? Why can't you just say there's something intuitive you tune into?
24:20
Drew
Well, it's not intuitive when I say somebody's name or when I tell these parents that how their child was murdered and I mean I don't know if you read but I had a reading with Chandra Levy's mom and I picked her bedroom and I was doing a bunch of stuff in her house.
24:32
Adam
Where is Chandra Levy?
24:33
Drew
I'm not going to go into that here but anyway so I...
24:35
Lysa Mateu
She's not alive.
24:37
Drew
No, she's not. Absolutely not.
24:38
Adam
Well, where would you go into it?
24:40
Drew
What?
24:40
Adam
Where do you go into it if you're not going into it here? You got another radio show?
24:44
Drew
No, it's not about... well, what do you want to know?
24:45
Lysa Mateu
Fox News only.
24:46
Adam
Well, I mean, was she murdered?
24:48
Drew
Yes, she was murdered.
24:49
Adam
Was Gary Condit, did he have anything to do with it?
24:52
Drew
Yes, he had something to do with it. He didn't do it, though.
24:53
Lysa Mateu
His brother.
24:55
Adam
That's not true.
24:56
Drew
No, I gave an address of a place that actually checked out. There's a lot more that...
25:00
Adam
And well, then why don't we go get her? Where is she?
25:04
Drew
I gave the police, I gave Sean Jalebi's parents, I mean, the lawyers the information. I was at her house and I gave everything that I got. I mean, that's all I can do.
25:14
Adam
Her body somewhere? Is it the...
25:16
Drew
I gave an address of some... I gave what this guy at the address does for a living, where he works, how many social security numbers he has, and it all checked out.
25:23
Adam
Where's the body?
25:25
Drew
I gave the address. You want the address? You want to go?
25:27
Adam
Well, is it in DC.? If it's on the way home, I'll swing by.
25:30
Drew
No, it's Potomac, Maryland.
25:33
Adam
Oh, is it in the river?
25:35
Drew
It's like a... What do you call it? Like a marsh? It's like underneath, that kind of...
25:39
Adam
All right.
25:40
Drew
I want the cops to go follow that up. Yeah, I went to the cops. I spoke to them for two hours.
25:43
Adam
Why don't you go get it?
25:45
Drew
Because you can't go down there. It says sewage, do not go in, big signs. I was there for like 24 hours and I told them everything. And then there's a point where you're like, these people are not people you want to really mess with. I gave, you know, I mean, I'm giving the information.
25:58
Adam
Well, do you think the cops just think you're a nut job or do you think they're protecting somebody?
26:01
Drew
I think the cops are protecting a lot. You don't go look in the same place for like 14 days, you know, in the park behind there, the same exact locations, like looking for your glasses in the same drawer. Look, they're not going to appear. You know, there's a lot of protection going on. There's a lot of things that are really dirty.
26:17
Adam
Do you think they're protecting Condit?
26:19
Drew
It's not necessarily Condit. It's not they. It's not the entire police force, but there are people in there. And even one of the detectives said that to me, you know.
26:27
Adam
Wow.
26:27
Drew
And there was like six people there, so.
26:30
Adam
Well, I think he's running for real. He's got my vote. Because I can separate a man's work from his personal life. That's me.
26:37
Lysa Mateu
We lived with that for a year, didn't we?
26:38
Adam
Yeah, that's me. Yeah, that's right. Mike?
26:42
Yeah.
26:42
Adam
Year 34?
26:44
Yeah.
26:44
Adam
What's up?
26:45
I got a question for Lysa. Since she's psychic, okay, I don't know if it's Lester, my wife, if she's, I know she's seen other people. I don't know if it's because they buy her nice things or they buy her like she's a heroin addict. I need you to help me figure it out.
27:05
Drew
Okay. One of the things, and again, I'll differentiate between when I'm doing psychic work and I'm doing work that's just completely logical. The question for you can figure out all you want, who she's seeing and why she's seeing them. In my concern is why you're with somebody that's a heroin addict.
27:20
Okay. I didn't even know until like a month ago.
27:22
Drew
Okay. But why you're with somebody that's a heroin addict?
27:24
Well, I guess I love her too much to...
27:27
Drew
See, one of the things...
27:28
You have a point there. You do have a point there.
27:30
Drew
Well, it's about loving yourself enough to be able to understand that the best love you can give to someone is not stand for the low level of living that they're doing. That's the way you love somebody, where you don't sit and put up with it and basically say that that's okay.
27:45
Adam
That's kind of love I have for the callers on this show.
27:49
Lysa Mateu
But Mike, she's going to die if you don't do something. Absolutely. That is heroin addiction and whatever she's doing with other people, if they give her drugs, she'll do anything. Anything.
27:58
You feel bad that you come up with that kind of logic because I never thought of it that way.
28:02
Lysa Mateu
Well, that's heroin addicts. That's what heroin addicts do. That's all heroin addicts.
28:06
Okay.
28:07
Lysa Mateu
And so you got to help her get some treatment and if she can't get treatment, then you got to go to Al-Anon or Narconon and get some treatment so you can deal with this in a way that actually does in fact help her. The status quo is no good.
28:20
Adam
Mike?
28:21
So she won't change and you think I should dump her?
28:24
Lysa Mateu
I'm not saying dump her. I'm saying you can. You can certainly leave and let her know why that you can't stand to see her in her disease like this but if you really want to help her you should go to Al-Anon or Narconon.
28:34
Adam
Hey Mike?
28:35
Yeah?
28:35
Adam
Yeah. Did you move to Vegas from somewhere?
28:39
Los Angeles.
28:41
Adam
And what are you doing over there?
28:43
Well I'm working in a casino.
28:47
Adam
Okay. Hey hold on. Don't have any kids right?
28:51
No.
28:52
Adam
Right?
28:53
Nope. No kids.
28:54
Adam
Alright. As a matter of fact you like owe a kid. Like if you have a kid you gotta give it away. So if you have two kids then you can have one kid. I like being the whole of a kid.
29:04
Lysa Mateu
Just give away two to keep one.
29:05
Adam
Right. Yeah what are you asking Mike?
29:07
Is your program right now, is it taped in Los Angeles?
29:10
Lysa Mateu
Yes.
29:11
Adam
Yes.
29:11
So you're in Los Angeles right now? Because I think that's where she's going to, you know.
29:18
Adam
Well if she's on the way home I'll find her.
29:20
Yeah.
29:21
Adam
I'll find her and Sean or leave his body. Mike sound like a mess. I was just talking to someone about Vegas today and what it just abode of the damned this city has turned into.
29:32
Lysa Mateu
Vegas?
29:32
Adam
Yeah. It becomes like the last resort for all the crazed people whose lives did not work out. Everyone ends up in Vegas. It's, you know what? You know the born again nut jobs? The three divorces, they get strung out on crank. They got eight kids who won't talk to them and nine of them are lesbians. You know, and eventually they become born again because it's like, oh Christ, it's like shaking the etch of sketch. I'm 43 and nothing has worked. I'm going to fall in love with Jesus Christ. Vegas is the sort of geographical equivalent to being a born again. So whatever business I was trying to make work in Iowa, wasn't working out. My life has not worked. I'm moving to Vegas. That's what it is. If you could be born again and moved to Vegas, that would be the grand slam of BS life changing events. Then you go there and it's 170 degrees and there's nothing to do.
30:28
Drew
And that's why this is a job for him. He stays concerned with his wife. He's worrying where she is. He becomes a full time occupation, right?
30:34
Adam
Yeah. And then you know what they always do? Once they get to Vegas, they start brainwashing themselves. Oh, this is great. This is great. What do you mean? Shrimp cocktail for days. This is great. No taxes. This is great. This is great. God damn cab drivers over there. All right. Tell me how much LA sucks every time I'm there. We'll take a little break. Lysa Mateu is our guest tonight. She is a world-renowned psychic.
31:00
Drew
Can I tell my website?
31:01
Adam
No. We'll answer some of your calls. We'll answer some of your calls. We'll give some plugs. Give the website out. No. And we'll do that.
31:10
Good night.
31:13
Adam
Is this Loveline?
31:14
Caller
Call 1-800-LOVE-191. Adam and Dr. Drew will be right back.
31:55
Adam
Hey, everybody, Loveline. I'm Adam. That is Drew. Happy Valentine's Day. Lysa Mateu is here. Lysa is a psychic. Lysa has herself a book and a couple of things I want to give a plug to for Lysa. Let's see. First off, Thursday, February 21st. That is, what, is that a week from today? That's at 7.30. She's going to be at the Barnes and Noble. Yes, on San Fernando Boulevard in lovely, lovely Burbank, California. Do not speed, jaywalk, or do anything if you're in that city. You will get ticketed. That is the Barnes and Noble on 7.30 on Thursday, next Thursday, the 21st, and she'll be signing the book.
32:43
Drew
And what's the book called? I'll be doing readings. It's Conversations with the Spirit World.
32:47
Adam
Where the hell did my book go? Oh, Drew took it.
32:49
Drew
I'll be doing readings. It's an hour and a half. I'll speak and do readings for people in the audience.
32:53
Adam
So, that'll be from 7.30 to 9 o'clock.
32:55
Lysa Mateu
We gotta get Lysa to do reading on us.
32:57
Adam
Yeah. Well, I actually do have a...
32:59
Lysa Mateu
No? Oh, she looked at you and went, Oh, my God.
33:02
Drew
Oh, I forgot.
33:04
Adam
I do have a question for Lysa. You know what? I don't... You know where most people are attracted to the readings?
33:10
Drew
Yeah.
33:10
Adam
I don't like the readings. It has nothing to do with belief or disbelief. It's just... I don't want to know. I don't want to know what's around the corner for me. It spoils it. It's like... Life's like a movie. I don't want someone to tell me the ending.
33:23
Drew
But that's a good thing. Some people want so much certainty. They want to know every single thing. There's no way to know every single thing. That's not the purpose of life.
33:29
Adam
I'm sure it'll work out. If it doesn't, I'd like to be surprised.
33:32
Drew
Right.
33:33
Adam
I don't want to know. I don't want to know that far in advance. But you know what I would like to know? I was thinking of this. I went to the dentist today, Drew.
33:41
Lysa Mateu
Will you have nitrous? Is that what you want to ask?
33:43
Adam
No. It's always an issue with the nitrous over there. They make fun of me like a school girl. It's all women who work in the dentist office.
33:49
Lysa Mateu
What if you freaked out on them one time? What do you expect?
33:52
Adam
I told them, give me the nitrous. You're going to do the root canal. Let's get the nitrous going.
33:55
Lysa Mateu
You freaked out.
33:56
Adam
I did not freak out. Here's what happened. Listen.
34:01
Drew
I gave you too much.
34:02
Adam
Lysa, you're a sane person. Well, yeah, I had a bad trip. Yeah, but that's only my head. But I asked for the nitrous when I was at the dentist years ago. And now it's a big deal. I go in there to get a teeth cleaning, and they're like, do you need the nitrous? And I go, no, I'm fine. You sure? We could get the nitrous. I go, no, you're just cleaning my teeth, right? Yeah, yeah, but we could have it if you need it. It becomes weird, like I'm a retarded kid now. And then I'll run into some other lady from the dentist, and she's like, did you get out of the nitrous? He may need the nitrous. Now I feel like the world's biggest pussy over there.
34:39
Lysa Mateu
Yeah.
34:40
Adam
But I had the dentist take a look at my ankle.
34:44
Lysa Mateu
Oh yeah.
34:45
Adam
Yeah, because what the hell? He's there. He said, some form of doctor.
34:49
Lysa Mateu
He knows all about ladies.
34:50
Adam
He looked at my ankle. He said, oh, your ankle's broken. Said, I did the same thing, and it's fractured. Your ankle's fractured. So Drew said my ankle was broken, possibly. Dr. Bruce said it wasn't broken. Now the dentist says it's broken, and it's not getting much better. So I'm going to get an X-ray tomorrow.
35:09
Lysa Mateu
Can we set it up?
35:10
Adam
No, no, I got it handled. I want to know from Lisa whether it's broken or not.
35:13
Drew
I don't get that it's broken. I don't know what it's called, but like a line or whatever. Yes, that's what's going to happen.
35:21
Lysa Mateu
Yeah, through the malleolus, that's what's going to happen.
35:24
Adam
Right here, I'll draw it to you. Hairline something, is that what we're talking about?
35:29
Lysa Mateu
It's going to be right there.
35:31
Adam
On the ankle bone?
35:32
Lysa Mateu
Just on the tip, there's going to be a little bit of...
35:33
Adam
A little chip?
35:34
Drew
See the line?
35:35
Adam
Does that mean there's a piece of bone floating around in there?
35:38
Lysa Mateu
Yeah, but it's not going to be big enough they're going to do anything.
35:40
Adam
No, they never do anything. Look, I had something on... This is the reason I haven't been to the doctor, because I had something on my ankle, however bad my ankle looks, two to three times as bad as it looks right now, sat in six hours in line at County USC, they took an x-ray, not broken. So this to me is one-tenth of what it was, so if that wasn't broken then it can't be broken now, but now people are saying it's broken.
36:05
Lysa Mateu
It's just the location of it to me, it looks like it's... It's just not where that happened.
36:08
Adam
So you're going to say you're saying a little chip or a little fracture?
36:12
Drew
I just keep seeing like, I don't know the medical term, but it does, it's like a hairline.
36:17
Adam
A hairline, not a compound fracture. Bones not coming out of the skin. Very bold prediction, by the way.
36:23
Drew
You felt when you got it. I mean, you felt when you got it. This has been more than what you just said about ongoing, but this needs serious... You keep doing the same thing.
36:34
Adam
Yeah, but it's been a while. Now, when I did it, I thought I was fine, but I'm overly confident about myself that way. I thought I had no problems.
36:42
Lysa Mateu
It's denial.
36:43
Adam
Yeah. All right. I think it's okay. Want to look, Drew? No, nothing. I think it's just coming around.
36:47
Lysa Mateu
Get the x-ray. Get the x-ray.
36:49
Adam
Yeah.
36:49
Lysa Mateu
Good times.
36:50
Adam
Get the x-ray tomorrow? Okay. I'm not going to get cancer in the ankle or anything? Yeah, of course. Angelica?
36:57
Yes?
36:58
Adam
You're... 20. 20. What's up?
37:01
I have a question for the sidekick. I just want to know exactly, like, where in my career am I going to be, like, maybe in two years?
37:08
Drew
Okay.
37:09
Adam
You'll be making less.
37:11
Drew
Yeah. When it comes to this, and this is what I always say to people...
37:13
Adam
Below minimum, Mike.
37:14
Drew
You have a say in this, okay? So it's not like anything I'm going to tell you, you're going to sit back and that's going to change within your career, okay? But it feels like just... And recently means in the last three weeks, it feels like that whether you've... Okay, stop going... It was like going to school and then doing the work, doing... You split your decision here. Because it feels like that you were going in one direction, you just recently switched your entire direction here. That's what I'm saying. You just switched your entire direction from what you were doing three months ago, three weeks ago. Does that make sense to you?
37:43
Yeah, because I'm going to be graduating pretty soon in March already.
37:48
Drew
But what's with you switching your direction?
37:50
Well, I'm not... Because I'm going to study for a fashion designer, but now I want to be more like in the business side.
37:56
Drew
Okay, so you switch... Okay, because I've seen you going in one direction. All of a sudden, I saw... And just to tell you what I saw, it was like another route. It was like she's going down another road here. I see that you're actually going to do both, okay? The one you originally started to do, the fashion designer, is what you will end up doing.
38:12
Okay.
38:12
Drew
You'll need to know business and all that stuff, and that's actually an important part of it, but you will end up doing what you originally started.
38:17
And how am I going to be doing it?
38:19
Drew
How do you want to do when you're doing that?
38:20
Adam
Hold on, I saw, I got a flag.
38:21
Drew
What did you...
38:22
Adam
A maternity garb for female inmates. That's what I got, maternity smocks for inmates. I just saw it, it's very clear.
38:30
Drew
Yeah, you must be looking at a different book than I am.
38:32
Adam
No, that's what she'll be designing.
38:34
Drew
I just want to say something real quick to her. What's really important is you decide beforehand how you're going to do, and then you do that, and you take the steps in order to do that. That's not psychic, that's a strategy.
38:42
Adam
Hold on, let me talk to Lisa for a second. We're obviously dealing with a fragile mind here. Why don't you blow a little smoke up her ass and get her moving the right direction? I mean, ultimately, that's where your function comes in life.
38:54
Drew
What are you talking about?
38:55
Adam
She's going to be successful, she's going to be this, she's going to be that, and you motivate her, and then it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
39:01
Drew
But isn't it great to decide? If I say to her, would you like to be successful? Yeah, it's great. So you decide to be successful, then you take the steps a successful person would take.
39:08
Adam
Right. Okay.
39:10
Drew
So then it's in her hands, she doesn't have to call me every day.
39:12
Adam
All right. Angelica?
39:14
Yes.
39:14
Adam
Okay, so you're going to be successful.
39:16
Okay, well, I also have another question. My boyfriend, I don't know exactly where am I going with him or what's going to happen.
39:23
Adam
He's going to die of a snake bite.
39:25
Lysa Mateu
Dump him.
39:25
Okay.
39:27
Adam
Yeah, probably a snake or spider in the next 10 to 12 days.
39:32
Okay.
39:33
Lysa Mateu
What's the problem with this relationship?
39:34
Adam
Lisa wrote that on a slip and slid it to me. She didn't want to say it or something.
39:36
Lysa Mateu
What's going on in this relationship? What's the problem?
39:38
Well, I'm not sure if he has serious problems or what's his problem. He just really doesn't trust me at all.
39:45
Drew
Do you trust him at all? That's really the question here.
39:47
Well, in the past, he has been cheating on me, but I never have.
39:51
Drew
In the past or in the present?
39:53
Well, I don't know about now. Is he cheating now?
39:56
Drew
Okay. Do you not know about now or do you not want to look at now?
40:00
Well, I'm not sure. I don't know what to think.
40:02
Drew
Okay. What I'm getting is that he is, and that's just what I get, and you can check it out to make sure for yourself, but this is somebody that is not acting in a way that you deserve to have, so you can have a choice to be with him or not.
40:13
Lysa Mateu
As long as they're jealous guys, those are the guys that-
40:16
Adam
I was cheating.
40:17
Lysa Mateu
He doesn't trust you because he can't trust himself.
40:19
Adam
Has there ever been a lawsuit where you say, yeah, I think someone's cheating, they go shoot the boyfriend, and then it turns out he's not cheating, and the boyfriend's family sues you?
40:30
Drew
I always say to somebody, you need to check this out. This is just what I'm seeing, but they always know. They always know, even when I said about him cheating, do you trust him? I'll always ask, do you trust him because I'm not cheating.
40:41
Adam
Are you off the hook then? I mean, I know no one is, I've never heard of a lawsuit like this.
40:47
Drew
Right, I've never.
40:48
Adam
Well, you're going to a psychic, you're paying them money, you're getting information from them, and oftentimes basing your actions on that information.
40:56
Drew
But I'll never tell somebody what to do. Like for example, if they say, if they say, what's going to happen with my husband? And I see that the husband is beating her, beating the woman, and I'll say, look, I see he's beating you. I'll never say you need to leave him. And if you choose to stay with someone who beats you, these are the consequences. If you choose to leave, because I'm really careful about that, not just for lawsuit's sake, because I believe that each person is going to make their own decision based on what they feel. I could just give them what I see.
41:20
Adam
All right. I'm not sure why we need you. That's all I'm saying.
41:26
Drew
Why do we need you?
41:28
Lysa Mateu
You're supposed to tell them that.
41:29
Adam
Yeah. Why do we need you?
41:31
Drew
Interchangeable here. I could do the show tonight.
41:33
Adam
I know, but then what would happen is we'd lose listeners.
41:37
Drew
Oh my God.
41:38
Adam
The revenues would go down.
41:39
Drew
You have no idea how many email. I did Howard Stern. I got 18,000 hits to my website.
41:43
Adam
Well, people are weak in this. I mean, your job plays to people's Achilles heel.
41:49
Drew
No. That's what I don't do.
41:50
Adam
No, that's what you do for a living.
41:52
Drew
People want that. People would love me to tell them, he's going to show up next week and you just have to be all dressed and just sit on your couch.
41:58
Adam
No, I don't mean the execution of your job. I mean your actual job title.
42:03
Drew
The Word Psychic?
42:04
Adam
Yes. It plays to people's emotional Achilles heel.
42:08
Drew
People call me up and ask me like, are they going to be happy? Well, that's up to them.
42:12
Adam
I'm saying for a living, it's a good living and it's a smart idea.
42:17
Lysa Mateu
Humans have always wanted to be able to be able to know. What's the stone that they looked for for a billion years, that would tell the future?
42:24
Adam
Oh, really? Tell the future stone? Basically. Alisa? Alisha, you're 17?
42:31
Lysa Mateu
Yeah.
42:32
Adam
Hey, we got to take a break, but your problem is your boyfriend is joining the Army. You want to know if he'll be okay?
42:38
Well, that and if-
42:42
Adam
Will you guys stay together?
42:44
Lysa Mateu
Will he cheat?
42:44
Adam
Okay.
42:45
Caller
Not will he cheat.
42:46
Adam
Yeah, but will he be okay when he joins the Army? Yeah. All right.
42:50
Caller
All right.
42:50
Adam
Lisa slid me a note, said friendly fire. That's all I said. Hold on a second. That's all I saw. Okay. We'll take a little break. Lisa Mateu is our guest. She's a psychic and she's going to answer your questions, and yeah, love questions tonight after this.
43:06
Caller
Adam and Dr. Drew will be right back on Loveline.
43:36
Caller
Hi, this is Psychic Kenny Kingston, and you're listening to Love Line with Adam Carolla and Dr. Drew.
43:43
Adam
Yeah, see why you guys got a bad name? Kenny Kingston, sweet spirit. Lysa, that's your arch enemy, right? You guys don't like each other, right?
43:55
Drew
No, I have nothing against other psychics.
43:57
Adam
All right, Lysa Mateu is our guest tonight.
43:59
Drew
Except I heard one, I won't name her, but she said to somebody in an audience of 700, she told this girl that her brother would be dead in eight months. And to me, that's like what you said, self-fulfilling or whatever. I would never do that.
44:10
Lysa Mateu
What about John Edwards and his thing? What do you think of that?
44:12
Drew
I've seen him live. I mean, he's good. You know, I just think that he's putting himself under a lot of scrutiny by doing, you know, show after show after show of the show. Such a need to, you know.
44:21
Adam
Who's he on? Who's John Edwards? The crossing over guy?
44:24
Drew
Yeah, but he's good.
44:25
Adam
Yeah, he's got a good, good wrath. Yeah. Well, some of the stuff, some of the stuff's good. Yeah, I know. But anyone who listens to the show knows I'm psychic once in a while too. Tell people what their job is. I always know when someone works around metal.
44:39
Lysa Mateu
Tell them about the baseball.
44:42
Adam
I knew when this chick's boyfriend worked at a batting cage. Everyone.
44:46
Drew
Everyone's psychic. It's not like just I'm psychic or he's psychic.
44:49
Adam
No, everyone's psychic.
44:50
Caller
You guys are great at guessing names too.
44:52
Adam
We're all beautiful too. Yeah, we can guess names.
44:55
Lysa Mateu
Last time it took us 600 names before we got to the right one.
44:59
Adam
I can guess signs too. Watch. I was 87. Watch. Alicia, I'm going to guess your sign, baby.
45:05
Caller
What?
45:05
Adam
I'm going to guess your sign.
45:06
Caller
Okay. All right.
45:07
Adam
I want you to focus.
45:08
Caller
Okay.
45:10
Adam
See, when you tell a person to focus, that way if you don't guess it, you can blame it on them.
45:14
Lysa Mateu
Sure.
45:14
Adam
Really focus. Really focus. Capricorn.
45:18
Caller
No.
45:18
Lysa Mateu
Gemini.
45:20
Adam
Gemini.
45:20
No.
45:21
Adam
Taurus.
45:22
Caller
No.
45:22
Adam
Libra.
45:23
No.
45:24
Lysa Mateu
Sagittarius.
45:25
Caller
No.
45:25
Adam
Cancer.
45:26
No.
45:26
Lysa Mateu
Virgo.
45:27
Yes.
45:28
Lysa Mateu
Virgo.
45:28
Adam
Virgo. See? I told you.
45:31
Caller
Would you like to know what date I was born?
45:33
Adam
No, I know.
45:34
What is it?
45:35
Lysa Mateu
September 18th.
45:35
Adam
Whatever the Virgo month is. Yeah, the 18th of September.
45:39
Caller
You were really close.
45:41
Adam
The 14th, 15th, and 16th.
45:44
Caller
I was born on Friday the 13th.
45:45
Wow.
45:46
Adam
Yeah, I knew that. All right. So your boyfriend is going off to join the military.
45:52
Caller
Yes, he is.
45:53
Adam
And you want to know if he's going to be okay.
45:56
Caller
Yeah. Well, the thing is, is-
45:58
Drew
What's with you and wanting to have a baby before? There's something with you and making-
46:04
Adam
You want a baby?
46:05
Caller
Do I want a baby?
46:06
Uh-huh.
46:06
Caller
No, not right now.
46:08
With him.
46:09
Caller
With him? Possibly later down the line. We've talked about marriage and all that stuff. My thing is I never pictured myself being with someone in the army. And my thing was I always said I'm never going to do that and well with him. That's what he decided he wanted to do and I decided I wanted to go along with that. And just today he found out that he was being sworn in and he's going in tomorrow to do that. Yeah. Yeah.
46:39
Adam
Where's he doing his basic training?
46:41
Caller
I'm not sure yet. He's finding all that stuff out tomorrow. So.
46:47
Adam
So you want to know from Lysa.
46:51
Lysa Mateu
What?
46:52
If he will be okay.
46:53
Caller
He's supposed to be going into airborne infantry.
46:56
Adam
Yeah.
46:57
Caller
And I want to know if he'll be okay within time and how our relationship is going to handle that. I've talked to a couple of people that are military but I'd really like to see where this is going.
47:10
Get on your knees scumbag.
47:12
Yeah.
47:14
Adam
So what do you think Lysa? Any vibes?
47:17
Drew
Yeah. I do get strong vibes and what I get is that this feels like a decision. It's not the best decision for him to do. That's all I'm going to say. It just doesn't feel like the best decision for him to go forward with.
47:29
Adam
Wow. You might freak him out.
47:32
Drew
It just doesn't.
47:33
Bad vibe.
47:34
Adam
Yeah. Drew farted earlier, is that? You sure you weren't picking up on that?
47:38
Drew
All of a sudden, I got a mass of something in the left side of my- I just feel like it's not a good decision. It's not about scaring you. It's about that it feels like a decision. He just felt like a good idea rather than something like you said, that he's been wanting to do or been involved in. It feels like kind of rash. It doesn't feel like something that he's aligned with and supposed to be doing.
47:56
Adam
Is this bad idea like he's going to get killed overseas or is this bad idea like the relationship's not going to-
48:02
Drew
It's nothing to do with the relationship. I'm not going to go there with him, but it just doesn't feel good.
48:07
Adam
Oh, boy. All right. Well, hold on a second. Alicia?
48:11
Caller
Yeah.
48:12
Adam
Everything's going to work out. All right, baby?
48:14
Caller
No.
48:16
Adam
Well, look, what are you going to do?
48:18
Caller
Well, okay. He dropped out of school in October. Right. He works at Pizza Hut and his thing is, well, there's nothing left for me to do.
48:28
Adam
You're right. The military is the job equivalent to the state of Nevada for people. It's the last stop on the crap train. Yeah. It's where you end up when stuff's not working out. That's fine.
48:43
For his life or?
48:45
Adam
No.
48:46
Lysa Mateu
There's nothing else left to do.
48:48
Adam
The guy dropped out of school. He's working at Pizza Hut. He could go do this. He gets some insurance. He could get some education. He could get a little money and all that. So fine. If you're going to marry him, you're staying behind him then? I mean, literally behind him in case he's being shot at. All right, Elisa.
49:06
Okay. Thank you.
49:07
Adam
All right, baby. You make your own future. All right. Don't have any kids.
49:12
Okay.
49:13
Adam
All right. There you go. Bad read there. Bad vibe.
49:18
Drew
Are we on or no?
49:19
Adam
Not a good vibe. Yeah, we're on. It doesn't seem like we're on.
49:21
Drew
I know.
49:22
Adam
We don't seem to pay attention to the show.
49:24
Drew
I actually felt like I wrote some stuff down, but I felt like on the verge of crying and that's never happened actually.
49:29
Adam
Never?
49:30
Drew
Never when I'm on the radio or anything. I mean, I've, no, never actually. Never.
49:35
Adam
Jesus Christ.
49:36
Lysa Mateu
Is there a bad vibe for the military types in general or?
49:39
Drew
No. I've done readings for people that their kids are in the military and that they've wanted to do that their whole life. They train for that. They're totally ready for it. I feel great and they come home and the parent writes to me and says everything went great. Thanks a lot. But this is like, he thought it would be like I said, thought it would be a good idea and then she says he just drops out, whatever, he's working at Pizza Hut. It's like a rash idea, like nothing else to do. Let me go to the military and it does not feel like a good idea. I'm not supposed to edit things and it's not about telling people things that are bad, but what I see, to let you know what I see, is I felt like crying and then I saw her crying and whatever that means, but it doesn't mean anything about the relationship.
50:18
Adam
Well, maybe you're tapping into how much we need him at Pizza Hut. You know what I mean?
50:24
Lysa Mateu
Then she would have seen you crying, Adam.
50:25
Adam
This guy makes a hell of a personal pan pizza and we can't afford to lose that kind of skilled labor overseas. Robert, you're 25, you have sexual urges.
50:37
Lysa Mateu
Yeah.
50:37
Adam
Yeah, poor Lisa's got the heebie-jeebies here.
50:39
Drew
She's going to shake herself loose.
50:42
Adam
You have sexual urges yet you have no one to have sex with.
50:45
Lysa Mateu
You're fat.
50:46
Adam
Drew, please. Is that true? No. Have you ever had a girlfriend?
50:53
Caller
Pretty much, no, not really. No long-term things or anything like that.
50:57
Adam
Are you a virgin?
50:58
Caller
Pretty much, yeah.
50:59
You're gay.
51:00
Lysa Mateu
Both those were just a straight.
51:01
Drew
He's not gay.
51:03
Lysa Mateu
Straight out, no.
51:04
Adam
Yes, you definitely are a virgin and you've never had a long-term relationship. Why not? What's up with you?
51:12
Caller
Part of it, I think it's a low self-esteem to a sense.
51:15
Adam
Right. Okay.
51:17
Caller
That's pretty much what I would say is the overall cause of the-
51:20
Adam
All right.
51:21
Drew
But he's nice looking. People come to you, you're like hiding out. You actually do the opposite of going toward a relationship. You completely pull away.
51:30
Caller
Well, it's not that I pull away from the actual relationship, but the fact is that I pretty much somewhat, I'm the average guy. I think I'm a little above average to a point. At the same time, I act more like a female.
51:44
Adam
All right. Well, hold on there, Robert. We got to take a break there.
51:47
Caller
Okay.
51:47
Adam
You act like a female, huh?
51:49
Caller
Well, meaning as far as-
51:50
Adam
You call psychics?
51:52
Caller
No.
51:52
Lysa Mateu
He means menstruating.
51:54
Caller
I don't believe in the psychic part too much. She's just more like a counselor. She does basically the same thing that you guys do.
51:59
Adam
Well, she's a lot of attitude for a virgin. Hold on a second. Obviously, he's a bitter man. Lysa Mateu, she's a psychic. She's here tonight. We're going to take a quick break. We'll be back and we'll finish off with Virgin Robert when we come back.
52:12
Okay.
53:15
Adam
Loveline, fastest growing outlaw radio in North America.
53:20
Caller
We got a 50,000 watt flame thrower here.
53:27
Lysa Mateu
Hey Adam.
53:27
Adam
Yeah.
53:28
Lysa Mateu
I spoke at a junior college tonight.
53:30
Adam
Really?
53:30
Lysa Mateu
Yeah. It was great.
53:33
Adam
There were people there who spoke English?
53:35
Lysa Mateu
They're bright. The vast majority go on to four-year.
53:38
Adam
Where was it? In Shanghai? Not in the United States.
53:41
Lysa Mateu
Covina.
53:42
Really?
53:44
Adam
Oh, he's wearing the San Antonio Mount Sack.
53:49
Lysa Mateu
Mount Sack?
53:49
Adam
Yeah. Mount Sack's a junior college? Yeah. Well, it must be the Princeton of junior colleges. I always hear good things about that place.
53:57
Lysa Mateu
Yeah.
53:57
Adam
All right. What's happened to your career that you're speaking at junior colleges now, Drew?
54:03
Lysa Mateu
It was good. I wondered it myself till I got there. It was a good thing.
54:05
Adam
You're going to be addressing preschool soon.
54:08
Lysa Mateu
Sure. That's what it takes. Whatever it takes. It was a very, you can tell the intelligence of the student body by how they stay with you in a crowd. They were a bright kid.
54:19
Caller
It was a good experience.
54:22
Adam
Lysa Mateu is our guest tonight. Conversations with the Spirit World is the name of her book. It's Souls Who Have Ended Their Lives. Speak From Above. From Above?
54:34
Drew
I guess it's Above. I don't think it's Above anymore. I'll change that on my next printing.
54:37
Adam
Wait. This book is about people who have ended their lives.
54:41
Drew
Yeah. It's not about that. It's about what they have to say about living now and doing what you want with your life and not putting it off.
54:47
Adam
But all the people in the book have committed suicide?
54:50
Drew
Yes.
54:50
Adam
All right. And did some of them, is there a difference between somebody who was terminally ill and committed suicide and somebody who just was depressed and couldn't hang?
55:00
Drew
Well, the difference is when I've received, when I get messages, it feels like that the people who've killed themselves is a lot more of this urgency of getting through to the people and what it leaves behind than somebody who's in pain, who's in a hospital bed, who can't function and decides they want out. I mean, there's a definite difference in their energy. I don't feel like there's the same at all.
55:19
Adam
All right. What do you think about Kevorkian? You pro or con?
55:22
Drew
I don't have necessarily an opinion.
55:25
Adam
No thoughts about that?
55:25
Drew
No, not really.
55:26
Adam
He's a personal hero of mine actually. All right. By the way, you can find Lysa at the Barnes and Noble on Thursday, February 21st at 7.30 in Burbank.
55:37
Lysa Mateu
Adam, Lysa, during the break, Lysa is very complimentary towards you. You probably have some psychic impulses of your own.
55:43
Adam
Really?
55:43
Drew
How you do?
55:44
Adam
Why would you say that?
55:46
Drew
Because you keep saying that one, I'm going to be around the US also, and Barnes and Noble all around the country. All right. They can check my website.
55:52
Lysa Mateu
Lysa, if you talk about him, he's going to be.
55:54
Drew
He'll be nice then?
55:55
Adam
Yeah. Why would you say that I have a psychic ability of my own?
55:59
Drew
Because you need to deny it so much, you need to shut it down or act like you don't. If you take over right now, you'll do readings with people, but don't let them tell you what they want. You just whatever you see, whatever you feel, whatever you hear.
56:11
Adam
All right. Here we go.
56:12
Lysa Mateu
Do you have the distractibility quotient too? Like I'll sit here and just do this twice.
56:16
Drew
I've been in Barnes and Noble where the Frappuccino machine is going.
56:19
You can't handle it.
56:20
Drew
No, kids are running around. No, no.
56:21
Adam
You can't take that.
56:22
Drew
I can take that. That doesn't bother me.
56:23
Adam
Oh, you can?
56:24
Drew
Yeah.
56:24
Adam
Not me. Robert? Yeah. You're 25 there?
56:28
Lysa Mateu
Remember Robert's the good-looking guy that's hiding out.
56:31
Adam
Well, Lisa says he's good-looking. I question that. But Robert?
56:35
Caller
Yeah.
56:36
Adam
Okay. So you're a virgin.
56:38
Caller
Exactly.
56:39
Adam
And you have self-esteem issues.
56:41
Yeah.
56:42
Adam
And, you know, it seems like with guys, and, Drew, we never really quite get into this. Women have self-esteem issues that are sort of overt. I mean, they're put on them. They got some dad who's telling them they're fat or telling them they're no good. Guys can have these self-esteem issues just through not getting laid in high school. You know what I mean? Like for guys, if you don't get out of the gate too good, you could be in a world of hurt in your 20s as far as the ladies go.
57:10
Lysa Mateu
Right, right, right, right. That's interesting.
57:13
Adam
Right, whereas a woman, she could have self-esteem issues, she could have a little trouble getting out of the gate, but there's always gonna be a slew of guys wanting to get in their panties. As a guy, if you screw yourself up between the age of like 15 and 18 or 19 with women, you're screwed for a while. It takes a while to recover from that. And Robert, is that what happened to you?
57:34
Caller
Yeah, pretty much.
57:35
Well, basically, it's like...
57:36
Lysa Mateu
You're not really a virgin, though, are you?
57:38
Caller
Well, I've had oral sex done on me once, but that's it.
57:42
Lysa Mateu
That's as far as it's gone.
57:43
Adam
You're not a religious guy?
57:46
Caller
No, not particularly.
57:47
Adam
And what do you do for a living?
57:50
Caller
Nothing right now.
57:51
Adam
Why not?
57:52
Caller
Well, I just graduated, so I've been sort of looking for work, and I'm in a position where I'm not so sure as to where I'm going.
58:00
Adam
Well, what did you study in college?
58:03
Caller
Business administration.
58:04
Adam
All right. The other thing about guys, too, is it's so connected to their place in society and their life and their job, and it's tough when you're out of work and you're a virgin. There's nothing to build on there.
58:17
Caller
And you got no money, no income.
58:19
Adam
Right.
58:19
Lysa Mateu
So just keep working. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other.
58:22
Adam
Well, the best way to do it for a guy is just to focus on...
58:26
Lysa Mateu
Career.
58:26
Adam
Career, working out, all that junk, all the stuff that just kind of makes you a more attractive package, and then people will come to you.
58:35
Caller
Yeah.
58:35
Adam
It takes care of itself.
58:37
Caller
That's no problem.
58:37
Adam
And even if you don't get laid, you have a good job.
58:40
Caller
Well, that's my question, though, is like throughout the whole day, I'm just wondering, is there like medication? Well, because basically, I mean, I am sexually aroused almost all the time throughout the whole day.
58:51
Lysa Mateu
And you want medication to suppress that? I don't know.
58:53
Caller
Is there like, you know, something that I can maybe... I mean, it doesn't make a difference what I do. I mean, I submerge right now. I'm in the process of trying to get a business going and everything like that, and I submerge myself into that, like, you know, 12-hour days and things like that. I'll be late at night doing my work, but it doesn't make a difference what I'm doing. It's still always on my mind.
59:11
Lysa Mateu
Maybe this is what he needs to do.
59:13
Adam
Don't you...
59:16
Drew
We're sharing notes. Sorry.
59:17
Adam
I know.
59:17
Lysa Mateu
True.
59:18
Adam
How long have you been on the radio?
59:20
Lysa Mateu
Devol is what she wrote down.
59:22
Adam
What did you write down? Lysa wrote something down.
59:25
Drew
Well, what I got a flash is my friend Charlie, and what he used to do is call those women from the magazines or whatever, like they say they're going to give you a massage, but they really don't.
59:33
Adam
Oh, needs to blow off a little steam. A little happy, happy ending at the massage place. Well, he doesn't have any money.
59:40
Caller
Yeah, no, trust me, I don't do that.
59:42
Adam
Robert, you have any friends?
59:44
Caller
Yeah.
59:45
Adam
Are they, are they nerds, too, or are they okay guys?
59:48
Caller
No, no, you know, it's like it's in groups, you know, I got various other friends, and yeah, it's, I don't know, it's just like I got, you know, some people where I hang out were, you know, it's big, they're girlfriends and stuff like that, and we're just all good friends.
1:00:02
Adam
All right.
1:00:03
Caller
And I've got other people where, you know, I go out with and stuff like that, we go out and party with, but, you know, they're not within the same arena, you know, some of them got a girlfriend here and there, but it doesn't seem as if they do because they're still away at college and things like that.
1:00:16
Adam
All right, Rob, this means nothing, whatever you're telling me. This is no help at all. Robert, get a job. That's it. Forget about your home business for a while. Get yourself a good gig. You need to get in a workplace where there's people and there's something going on around you.
1:00:31
Lysa Mateu
Maybe do something physical. Sounds angry, too, just a little something physical.
1:00:35
Adam
How many times a day are you beating off, Robert?
1:00:37
Caller
About three times average.
1:00:39
Adam
I like to see that about five. You're just sitting home in a pool of your own mess, doing nothing up all night.
1:00:46
Lysa Mateu
Are you compulsively involved with internet porn, that kind of thing? Excuse me? Are you real involved with internet porn and that kind of stuff?
1:00:52
Caller
No, not really, no.
1:00:53
Adam
Okay.
1:00:54
Caller
On occasion here and there, but nothing every night.
1:00:59
Adam
Robert, are you getting some exercise?
1:01:02
Caller
Yeah, pretty much. I try to work out every single day, but I've lately, it's just been a little less.
1:01:08
Adam
All right. Look, I can't help everyone. Just everyone, listen to classical music and go on long walks and use your friends. Get some friends. Man, when you're a 25-year-old guy, and things aren't working out for you, you need some friends.
1:01:22
Drew
Absolutely.
1:01:22
Adam
That's going to help. Jason? Jason?
1:01:27
Yeah.
1:01:28
Adam
You're 20?
1:01:29
Caller
Yeah.
1:01:29
Adam
You have a question for Lysa?
1:01:31
Caller
Yeah. I was wondering if I'm the baby's dad of my girlfriend.
1:01:40
Drew
Okay. I love these ones. I just tell you what I get. Okay? So you have to check it out. You're going to check it out, yes? I am. Okay. Because this is really important here. I'm getting that there was a lapse of time of not being with her. I'm getting that you're not. I mean, the first answer I got was no. And again, you need to check that out. But I'm getting that there was a block of time where you know about her being with someone else, and I'm getting that it's not yours.
1:02:07
Caller
That it's not mine?
1:02:09
Drew
That's what I received. That's what I'm getting. You'll have to check it out to find out for sure as far as DNA and all that stuff.
1:02:14
Adam
What's the situation, Jason?
1:02:18
Caller
Well, at the time that we found out, she was hanging out at some drug dealing houses and stuff like that, a bunch of drugies and stuff like that. Oh, there you go.
1:02:32
Adam
Were you guys broken up?
1:02:35
Caller
No, we were still together. She just went with her friends all the time, and she always wanted to go to their house instead of going with me.
1:02:46
Adam
All right. So Lysa was wrong about that one.
1:02:48
Drew
I didn't say they're broken up. I said when you're not with her.
1:02:51
Adam
You said a block of time when they weren't together. That's not an evening where she's doing coke with some guys.
1:02:56
Drew
They're not together. She doesn't do anything. He's waiting around. She is not with him.
1:03:00
Adam
No, no, no.
1:03:01
Drew
He knows that she's with other people.
1:03:03
Adam
Stop.
1:03:03
Drew
You know what? This is a serious thing.
1:03:05
Adam
I know.
1:03:06
Drew
I'm not kidding. This is a serious thing.
1:03:08
Adam
A block of time.
1:03:09
Drew
A block of time. She was not with him. He knows that she was with other people. There's talk about that. There is.
1:03:15
Adam
A block of time. It's not two hours in the evening.
1:03:17
Drew
I didn't say they're broken up. If they're broken up, I would have said that.
1:03:19
Adam
That's what you thought. You know what?
1:03:22
Caller
I know of one time of real early earlier this year that she's been with another guy. But that's all I know of.
1:03:31
Adam
How big a block of time was that? 15, 20 minutes?
1:03:35
Drew
It's not about, no.
1:03:36
Adam
You thought they were broken up.
1:03:38
Drew
I did not. I would have said that.
1:03:39
Adam
Yes, you did. You said block of time, please.
1:03:41
Drew
That's right. And broken up is different.
1:03:43
Adam
No, it is not.
1:03:43
Drew
And I said that during that block of time, she was with somebody else.
1:03:46
Adam
Block of time is not an evening. Drew, you're spending a block of time away from your wife tonight. Does that mean you got a block of time?
1:03:52
Drew
She didn't disappear for just an evening.
1:03:53
Adam
The pool man can be on top of your wife right now. Ask him. Is it a block of time where you guys are apart?
1:03:58
Drew
It is not just one night. Hey, you're a prick.
1:04:00
Adam
Jesus.
1:04:00
Drew
It's not just one night.
1:04:02
Adam
All right, all right, Jason. Was there an amount of time where you guys were apart?
1:04:11
Caller
The time we were apart, the first time when she cheated on me, we were apart.
1:04:17
Adam
How long were you apart?
1:04:20
Caller
Probably about a month.
1:04:21
Adam
All right. Well, there's your block of time, right?
1:04:24
Drew
It's not my block of time. It's the block of time I saw that you tended to have a whole thing about it.
1:04:29
Adam
You think she got pregnant in that block of time?
1:04:32
Drew
No, I didn't say she got pregnant in that block of time. I said there's a block of time where he knows about that she's been with other people. And I said that the baby is not his.
1:04:39
Adam
Yeah, but you're implying that she got pregnant during that time.
1:04:42
Drew
I'm implying anything.
1:04:43
Adam
What do you mean you're not implying anything? That's exactly what you're implying.
1:04:46
Drew
She's so looking for it.
1:04:47
Adam
Please.
1:04:47
Drew
It's Valentine's Day. That's about love. Be loving, okay?
1:04:49
Adam
All right.
1:04:50
Drew
Thank you.
1:04:51
Caller
She kind of got pregnant during that block of time, but while we were together, so you still think it's not mine?
1:04:57
Adam
Wait a minute. She didn't get pregnant during that block of time?
1:05:00
Caller
No, she didn't.
1:05:03
Lysa Mateu
All right. But she's continued to go out with other people.
1:05:05
Adam
Hey, Jason?
1:05:07
Caller
Yeah?
1:05:07
Adam
Listen, whether this is your kid or not, I mean, it doesn't sound like this is a match made in heaven here. She's hanging out at the drug addict's house. She's cheating on you. What's wrong with you?
1:05:20
Caller
I don't know.
1:05:21
Adam
Okay. Well, do you think maybe you could do better than this?
1:05:25
Caller
Please?
1:05:25
Adam
Probably. All right. I think you'd be doing better if you just beat off for the rest of your life. You'd be one big step up for you.
1:05:34
Caller
Does Lysa see us together in the long run?
1:05:37
Adam
For a block.
1:05:37
Drew
You want to answer that?
1:05:38
Adam
No.
1:05:39
Lysa Mateu
None of us do.
1:05:40
Drew
All right.
1:05:41
Adam
Listen, I'll hit her with a chair if she says you guys are going to be together.
1:05:44
Drew
And I'll hit you back.
1:05:45
Adam
That's right.
1:05:47
Lysa Mateu
All right, Jason.
1:05:48
Adam
Jason, what the hell's wrong with you?
1:05:50
Lysa Mateu
What?
1:05:50
Adam
Are you retarded? What's wrong with you?
1:05:52
Drew
You're so loving.
1:05:53
Adam
Well, what's wrong with you?
1:05:54
Drew
He'll tell you what's wrong with him if you ask him what's wrong with him. Nothing's wrong with him. He's just making choices that don't serve him.
1:05:58
Adam
Nothing's wrong with him.
1:05:59
Caller
No. He's making bad choices.
1:06:02
Drew
That's right. He's making bad choices. And lead him in a good direction. Give him a good future. Stop insulting him.
1:06:06
Adam
Stop it, you retard.
1:06:08
Drew
He's talking to himself. Just ignore him.
1:06:10
Adam
Well, that's enough already. Why are you staying with this person?
1:06:14
Drew
But you don't have to insult him to do that.
1:06:15
Adam
I don't know. Okay. Well, that's enough. Okay. You're better than that. There you go. Marginally.
1:06:20
Drew
That's better.
1:06:21
Adam
All right. All right. All right. Bye-bye.
1:06:23
Lysa Mateu
It's interesting. The psychic attracts a certain quality of retard that's even beneath our usual collar.
1:06:30
Drew
Oh, my God.
1:06:31
Lysa Mateu
No, I don't mean that.
1:06:32
Adam
Thank you, Drew. Subtard.
1:06:34
Drew
What are you talking about?
1:06:34
Lysa Mateu
But the more desperate, the less willing to look at things realistically.
1:06:39
Drew
Tonight, I was like, is this usual?
1:06:43
Lysa Mateu
It's faintly familiar to what we usually do it, but it's even more clueless. We've got to give them fantasy answers because that's what they're looking for.
1:06:52
Adam
Let me tell you, Lysa, why I'm abusive to our callers because I believe that you should treat people as if they're not mentally impaired.
1:07:05
Drew
As if they're not, right?
1:07:06
Adam
As if they're not mentally impaired. And when people do things that are really idiotic and really stupid, if you're talking to a person who's not mentally impaired, you will start with idiot or retard. I mean, if one of my smart friends does something that's incredibly stupid over and over again, I'm gonna say, hey retard, what are you doing? What is this? Now, otherwise it becomes condescending. Do you understand? It's like you know they're retarded, so you're gonna speak down to them. I choose to talk to people like they're intelligent, even though I know they're tards. See what I mean?
1:07:39
Lysa Mateu
So hold them to a higher standard, what you're saying.
1:07:41
Adam
An average standard, not a higher standard. This guy, Jason, his girlfriend is sleeping around, she's hanging out in crack houses, he's 20 years old. Hey, are you an idiot? Break up with this person. And I'm trying to treat him as if he was not an idiot, by asking him if he is an idiot. There you go. That's what I'm saying. Jacqueline?
1:08:02
Yeah.
1:08:02
Adam
You're 18?
1:08:04
Caller
Yeah. What's up? I was calling because my boyfriend had gone away to the army for six and a half months. He went to Virginia and I wanted to know if he had cheated on me and if we were going to make it.
1:08:15
Lysa Mateu
You're fat.
1:08:16
Adam
Drew, please.
1:08:18
Caller
No, I'm not. Actually, I'm not.
1:08:20
Drew
No, he didn't cheat on you. I'm getting that he didn't. And that's so refreshing to hear, I'll tell you.
1:08:25
Caller
Yeah.
1:08:27
Adam
But, you know, the weekend is still young.
1:08:30
Caller
No, actually, he's with me right now.
1:08:32
Caller
Oh, okay.
1:08:32
Drew
There you go.
1:08:33
Caller
All right.
1:08:34
Adam
There you go.
1:08:34
Drew
You get him back.
1:08:35
Adam
Oh, you had to... You're calling and asking if he cheated while he's there now.
1:08:39
Caller
Oh, yeah. Pin him up, baby, so he can't get away.
1:08:41
Drew
That's right. But he didn't. So he can have a good love of night with you tonight.
1:08:45
Caller
Yeah.
1:08:45
Adam
And a miserable, miserable life. Miserable.
1:08:50
Caller
Do you think we'll make it?
1:08:51
Adam
Yes. But don't have any kids, right? Or I'm going to kill myself. Do you have any kids?
1:08:57
Caller
No.
1:08:58
Adam
Good. Are you using any protection?
1:09:01
Caller
Yeah. We're cool.
1:09:02
Adam
What are you doing?
1:09:03
Caller
I'm on the pill.
1:09:04
Adam
Good girl. Good girl. All right.
1:09:07
Caller
Well, Lisa, are we going to make it?
1:09:09
Drew
Yes, you're going to make it. And you already know that. Yes, you are. Absolutely.
1:09:12
Caller
Okay. Thank you.
1:09:14
Adam
All right.
1:09:14
Caller
Okay. Bye.
1:09:15
All right.
1:09:16
Adam
Good times. Oh, women are so diabolical with this stuff. And here's the beauty. If you'd said, if she said, did my husband cheat when he was in the Biloxi during basic training, he said, I don't know, I got a weird little vibe. That would have been it. He would have got his ass kicked all around the crap apartment.
1:09:34
Caller
I didn't even know he was there.
1:09:35
Drew
I wasn't tuning in to whether or not he was there. I just saw that he didn't. So that was a good thing.
1:09:39
Adam
Oh, she would have just freaked. Drew, are you picturing that?
1:09:43
Lysa Mateu
Oh, it would have booted him three feet up his colon.
1:09:46
Adam
Drew, if somebody told your wife, if a psychic told your wife that you'd beat off and thought about another woman, she'd kick your ass, right?
1:09:55
Lysa Mateu
Oh, yeah, I'd put you on the phone with her.
1:09:56
Adam
Am I right?
1:09:57
Lysa Mateu
Oh, yeah. Especially on Valentine's Day, it was ridiculous. It's painful for somebody.
1:10:03
Adam
Mark?
1:10:03
Caller
Yes.
1:10:05
Adam
What's up?
1:10:06
Caller
Well, I just made a comparison. I was thinking that if this show was Gilligan's Island, since you're a millionaire, you'd be Thurston Howell III.
1:10:14
Adam
That's right.
1:10:15
Caller
Who would be the professor?
1:10:17
Adam
Yeah.
1:10:17
Caller
And I believe Lysa would probably be Mary Ann.
1:10:20
Adam
Yeah.
1:10:21
Caller
Now, since I consider all psychics the equivalent of Ms. Cleo, I'd like to ask Lysa what the greatest tragedy in her personal life has been. And the greatest tragedy she has experienced, how come being a psychic she wasn't able to avoid it or avert it?
1:10:39
Adam
Oh, well.
1:10:39
Drew
The greatest tragedy, I would say...
1:10:42
Adam
Probably this phone call, right?
1:10:44
Drew
Yes.
1:10:44
Thank you.
1:10:46
Adam
Hey, Mark, hold on a second. Listen, I bust Lysa's chops, not the caller.
1:10:51
Caller
Oh, thank you.
1:10:52
Adam
All right?
1:10:52
Drew
You don't want someone taking your call?
1:10:53
Adam
I don't want her to start crying.
1:10:54
Caller
Adam, usually you're the 426 hemi of radio. Don't turn into the pinto of radio on me.
1:11:01
Adam
Thank you. The 426 hemi.
1:11:05
Caller
Whatever made, pal.
1:11:06
Adam
Yeah, all right there, buddy. You know, I...
1:11:09
Caller
You guys are always capping on Ms. Clio. So why is the psychic on your show?
1:11:13
Drew
So you're telling me that my parents' divorce, I'm going to stop that? Is that what you're telling me?
1:11:18
Adam
No, no, no. Listen. Oh, well, now look, here, I put Mark on hold.
1:11:22
Lysa Mateu
Like if you got in a car accident, why you didn't force to see us?
1:11:24
Drew
Oh, I never got in a car accident. I don't have any. I mean, nothing's ever happened. I never been in a car accident. I never broke anything.
1:11:30
Adam
Let me explain why Lysa's on the show. It's Valentine's Day. We're doing a show that we provide some entertainment as well as some information. Some shows, more information. Some shows, more entertainment. And Lysa is, I don't particularly believe in psychics. You don't have to. I don't have to. I know. But you get angry when I don't.
1:11:52
Drew
No, I get angry when you say, there's no block of time. And then the guy says, yes, there's a block of time. And you don't even say you're sorry.
1:11:57
Adam
Well, no. Let me explain what happened. Let me just. This was a big mistake for you to have me deconstruct this call. But the guy calls in, the hillbilly guy calls in and says that his girlfriend is pregnant with someone else's baby, perhaps. We want to know whose baby this is.
1:12:15
Drew
Why don't you get his number?
1:12:16
Adam
You say, you say, there was a block of time when you two weren't together, which is you playing the odds. This chick's pregnant must have been when she was with another guy during a block of time. So it's smart. I mean, it's playing the odds. Look, when I was on, you were on the show last time. You said, I told you I named my cat Norman, and you want to know who I named my cat Norman after. You're playing the odds, playing the odds. I understand that's how it works. But she didn't get pregnant.
1:12:47
Drew
But can I ask you something?
1:12:49
Adam
She didn't get pregnant during the-
1:12:50
Drew
Do your homework. Just do your homework.
1:12:51
Adam
Okay. She did not get pregnant during that block of time. That's why you're wrong.
1:12:56
Drew
Do your homework. I've done 75 radio shows. I sent you the tape of them. They're not edited. Come see me live. Do your homework. No. Because you're- You know what? If you're looking for what's wrong, you're going to find it. Right. You start this whole evening from this doesn't exist and all you do the whole evening is look for proof that this doesn't exist. Right. That's what you're going to find. I don't expect anything different. I just expect you to give your callers not your opinion, but if they want questions answered, I do a great job at answering them.
1:13:26
Adam
Right.
1:13:27
Drew
So that's it. I mean, you get what you look for. Your whole evening is based on keeping your belief intact that this doesn't exist. So you're not going to... anything that even remotely would show it does exist, you'll find a way to talk it out because that would give up your belief system.
1:13:38
Adam
No, no. I let you slide on a few.
1:13:40
Drew
You don't have to let me slide. Your belief system is built on this does not exist and you will be right. You'd rather be right than open your mind to the possibility of something more at this point with me.
1:13:49
Adam
Well, you know, I got to have something to build it on, though.
1:13:53
Drew
There's things to build it on. So you're telling me that the person who feels that they're worthless doesn't look for references about how they're worthless. So they'll stay with somebody who treats them like crap in order to keep their references that I'm no good. People look for-
1:14:06
Adam
I'm confused now.
1:14:08
Lysa Mateu
She's saying that the people who stay with people to treat them like crap, do so to confirm their own self.
1:14:13
Adam
Yeah. They believe.
1:14:14
Drew
I don't deserve something good.
1:14:15
Adam
See?
1:14:15
Drew
This person doesn't treat me good.
1:14:17
Adam
Right.
1:14:17
Drew
You don't believe in psychic, so you'll look for every point that shows, oh, see, Lysa's not a psychic. You don't ever look for, oh, wow, yeah, how did she know that? You don't even open your mind to that. So...
1:14:27
Adam
No, I'm open to it.
1:14:30
Drew
You're absolutely not open to it.
1:14:31
Adam
I let you go on a few, like my ankle thing. That was nonsense. I don't have... You're all off on the ankle thing. I didn't say anything.
1:14:39
Drew
What are you talking about? You haven't even gone to the doctor. What are you talking about?
1:14:42
Adam
No, about me being concerned about the ankle. I didn't say it. This repeated thing and that kind of stuff. It's untrue.
1:14:48
Drew
What are you talking about?
1:14:48
Adam
I didn't say anything at the time.
1:14:49
Drew
Can I ask you something?
1:14:50
Adam
Now, you're forcing me to say it.
1:14:51
Drew
This is your whole thing.
1:14:53
Adam
What?
1:14:54
Drew
This whole act that you do, this whole, I said all day today, you can ask my husband, I said, even my diary tonight that's already on my website talks about how you're going to be tonight. I mean, the whole thing talks about how you're going to be.
1:15:05
Adam
You've done the show before.
1:15:07
Drew
Don't go, don't go. Yeah, but I've done shows with people that were like a jerk the first time and then really nice the second time. I've done shows with people that-
1:15:13
Adam
Well, you were wrong a lot the first time. I mean, that's all.
1:15:16
Drew
Then why would I get- I'll spec you all the letters. I got over 60 letters.
1:15:19
Adam
Well, from nut job fans who believe in this nonsense.
1:15:23
Drew
The nut job fans keep you having a radio show. So you want to keep insulting your fans, that's your paycheck, not mine.
1:15:28
Adam
All right. Well, I'll do it. It's fine.
1:15:29
Drew
Okay, so do it.
1:15:30
Lysa Mateu
Let's take a break, shall we?
1:15:31
Adam
What?
1:15:32
Drew
Let's take a break.
1:15:32
Adam
All right. We'll take a break. We'll be right back.
1:15:37
Caller
1-800-LOVE-191.
1:16:12
Adam
Hello, it is Loveline. I'm Adam Carolla. That is Dr. Drew. Lysa Mateu is our guest tonight. She's a psychic. She's the author of Conversations with the Spirit World. She has herself a website.
1:16:25
Drew
Is it www.channelingspirits.com, or they can call 310-820-0711.
1:16:33
Adam
She can also be found at the Barnes and Noble Bookstore, which is on the San Fernando Boulevard in Burbank, California on February 21st at 730. She'll be signing her book and doing readings. Is that true?
1:16:47
Drew
Yeah, we're doing readings and I'll be doing them all over the country, April and May going to Alabama, Georgia, New York and Florida and Boston and all over.
1:16:55
Adam
All right. Now, did you find that after a time nationally, like when there's some tragedy like 9-11, that there's a more demand for this sort of thing? People feel a little more off-balance or something?
1:17:11
Drew
No, I didn't see. I mean, I got the same amount of like readings that I usually do. I mean, there were a couple of people that, somebody did die on the flight or at the World Trade Center. But I think people, yeah, they want to know more but I didn't see any major difference actually.
1:17:28
Adam
What is your, is it mostly women?
1:17:32
Drew
Yeah, it's mostly women. I do get men, but it's definitely more women.
1:17:36
Adam
Yeah.
1:17:37
Lysa Mateu
That's interesting.
1:17:38
Adam
Yeah.
1:17:39
Drew
At my events though, there's more men.
1:17:40
Adam
They're not as smart as guys. But I wonder, but it's funny, as far as religion goes, I wonder if there's more guys, like I think there's more, you think there's more born-again guys?
1:17:51
Lysa Mateu
Yeah. They spend more time in jail.
1:17:53
Adam
When, right, right. Then actually they F up more, they kill more people, so they need to be forgiven. Whereas women don't need to be forgiven quite as much as guys do, so they don't need to find born again. But I think when guys spin off and go south, they go born again, and the women go psychic. All right. Look, whatever gets you, whatever gets you through. Alex?
1:18:15
Yes.
1:18:15
Adam
You're 22?
1:18:16
Caller
Yeah.
1:18:17
Adam
What's up?
1:18:17
Caller
I just have a question for Lysa. I just want to know if I was ever going to have a relationship with this girl I'm going out with tomorrow.
1:18:26
Drew
You want to know if you're going to have a relationship with the girl that you're going out with tomorrow?
1:18:31
Adam
First date.
1:18:31
Lysa Mateu
What do you mean by relationship?
1:18:33
Caller
Well, just pretty much like a romantic relationship.
1:18:36
Lysa Mateu
Are you going to have sex with her tomorrow? Is that what you're asking?
1:18:39
Caller
No, not at all. It's basically our second date.
1:18:43
Adam
You've been into her for a while though?
1:18:46
Caller
Yeah. We've actually been knowing each other for more than a year.
1:18:48
Lysa Mateu
You're fat. Not a good sign.
1:18:51
Caller
Why do you say everybody's fat?
1:18:53
Adam
The vibe, and Lysa, you answer, but the vibe I got is this guy's been into this girl for a while, and she's not been into him. Maybe she had another relationship or something. He finally got her out on a date, and now wants to hang on with both hands.
1:19:08
Drew
I see that you're going to have a relationship with her. I don't see it as that.
1:19:12
Adam
You don't see it as what?
1:19:13
Drew
Meaning that he's finally got her, and he wants her more than she wants him. Is that what you're saying? That's not what I'm seeing.
1:19:20
Adam
Where was she a year ago when you were into her, Alex?
1:19:23
Caller
Basically, we met at school about a year ago and stuff. I've just seen her passing by in school until I actually got in a class with her. Until then, I just realized that she's never been in a romantic relationship for a long time. She said that she's only been in a relationship once.
1:19:47
Adam
So you've been into her for a while, but she hasn't really known you, and then you got in a class together, and then you asked her out, or you became friends with her first?
1:19:55
Caller
Yeah, I became friends with her first, like, you know, highs here and there and stuff, and then suddenly, you know, we just started, like, hanging out.
1:20:02
Adam
How did the first date go?
1:20:04
Caller
It went pretty well. I just went to the movies and stuff.
1:20:07
Adam
No kissing, though, right?
1:20:08
Caller
No, not at all.
1:20:09
Lysa Mateu
How long ago was the first date?
1:20:10
Adam
Yeah, see, he's still...
1:20:12
Caller
Yeah, actually, it was, like, about two weeks ago on a Friday, and she kind of felt uneasy when I actually, like, you know, held her hand when I tried to keep her balance and stuff like that.
1:20:25
Adam
Hey, Lysa, you want to amend your...
1:20:28
Drew
No, it's not about amending it. I mean, he asked if there's gonna be...
1:20:30
Adam
No, amend. I mean, you want to change it? You want to alter your prediction?
1:20:34
Drew
I don't do that.
1:20:34
Adam
This one ain't gonna work.
1:20:35
Drew
Okay, so we'll see. So can you call back so we can actually track this one?
1:20:38
Adam
You don't want this.
1:20:40
Drew
What do you mean?
1:20:41
Adam
I'm telling you, this one ain't gonna work. She ain't into this guy.
1:20:44
Lysa Mateu
He's suggesting that the reason she's so awkward is that she's never had a relationship, doesn't date, all this stuff.
1:20:50
Caller
It's possible.
1:20:51
Lysa Mateu
It's possible. I got a bad vibe too.
1:20:53
Adam
Yeah. Hey Alex?
1:20:55
Caller
Yeah.
1:20:55
Adam
All right, so where are you going tomorrow night?
1:20:58
Caller
Actually at, I can't really say because it's like not a lot of people that go there.
1:21:04
Adam
Okay, well, I mean, you can just say, is it a restaurant or a movie?
1:21:07
Caller
Yeah, it's a restaurant and at the same time, you can watch stuff there too, like shows and stuff.
1:21:13
Adam
I'll...
1:21:14
Lysa Mateu
Cause you'll follow where they go.
1:21:16
Adam
I'm gonna, it's even money that tomorrow's date doesn't go down. That may not even happen. Are you sure? Is this carved in stone, Alex?
1:21:23
Caller
Yeah, it is.
1:21:24
Adam
You're gonna pick her up at eight o'clock?
1:21:26
Caller
Yeah.
1:21:27
Adam
Don't answer the phone tomorrow. Don't unplug the phone, rip it out of the wall.
1:21:32
Caller
Okay.
1:21:33
Adam
All right, and then listen, you better get a kiss tomorrow night.
1:21:36
Caller
I hope so.
1:21:37
Adam
Or it's more friendship stuff and it just gets weirder.
1:21:39
Lysa Mateu
Yeah, tomorrow night's the break, the make or break night.
1:21:43
Adam
You call us back and let us know what's happening, all right?
1:21:46
Caller
All right. All right.
1:21:48
Adam
I don't see good things in the future for those two. Justin?
1:21:51
Caller
Hey, how are you doing?
1:21:52
Adam
You're 21?
1:21:53
Caller
Yeah.
1:21:54
Caller
I wanted to ask the psychic about, I haven't seen my dad since I was a lot younger, about 11 years old. I wanted to know if there was any kind of hope that I, if I'm ever going to be able to see him again or what the deal is with that.
1:22:07
Drew
Okay. The first thing I'm getting is that what you were told about him isn't true. So it feels like that and that you've uncovered things that you were told that are now you're finding out that they're not true. Okay. About why it feels like you were told lies. That's what I'm getting.
1:22:21
Adam
Well, he was told heroin and it turned out to be speed that he was hooked on.
1:22:25
Drew
It feels like that the story you were told is not true. And yes, you are going to see I am seeing that you're going to see him. Okay. But it feels like that there was more of a keeping away almost like a protecting you rather than just letting him in your life. It feels like that he was made to look like the bad guy. But I'm not seeing that he is.
1:22:40
Caller
Right. And at the same time, his mother, my grandma, also, I haven't seen her since that same time. And I'm uncovering some things about that as well. Like my mom said now when before she didn't tell me that she was an alcoholic and she had a hard time facing me about these things. And I was wondering if if there's a chance about that either.
1:23:00
Drew
Yeah, with her, I'm not feeling like she's like living.
1:23:04
Adam
She's with Chandra, Chandra Levy.
1:23:06
Drew
Yeah, it feels like that she's.
1:23:10
Caller
Yeah, I've been worried about that.
1:23:11
Drew
I don't feel like she is.
1:23:13
Adam
Well, hey, hey, Justin. So what was the situation?
1:23:18
Caller
Well, my stepdad that my mom lives with, that my mom was married to now has been around since I was about five years old. And I had seen my dad. I had gone to see my grandmother a lot when I was little. And I had been seeing him until I was about him and her until I was about 11. And that's the last time when all of a sudden, no grandma. I called their house and it was like, they were telling me it was a wrong number.
1:23:45
Adam
Who's they?
1:23:46
Caller
The people who picked up the phone?
1:23:48
Adam
Well, who picked up the phone, you know?
1:23:50
Caller
No, it was like a strange voice.
1:23:52
Lysa Mateu
And what did your mom say about all this?
1:23:55
Caller
At the time, it's been a long time. Like, I was 11 years old and 21 now, so.
1:23:59
Lysa Mateu
What did she say?
1:23:59
Caller
At the time, she kind of said, she kind of didn't say much of anything, actually, to be perfectly honest.
1:24:04
Lysa Mateu
What's she been saying lately?
1:24:06
Caller
We haven't talked about it a whole lot.
1:24:10
Adam
Justin. Yeah. You're going to see your grandma and your biological dad.
1:24:15
Lysa Mateu
All of a sudden?
1:24:16
Adam
Very consistently until age 11. And one day, you call up and somebody answers the phone, says it's the wrong number. And it's been 10 years and you're not spoken to your mom about this.
1:24:28
Lysa Mateu
You don't ask them questions?
1:24:29
Adam
No idea where the guy is or what happened?
1:24:31
Caller
I mean, I was really upset at that time, back then. And I hadn't felt like I just I kind of buried the issue in myself. You know what I mean? And just now, recently, I've been talking to her about how I would face him if I ever did see him and things like that. That's when the whole alcoholism from my grandmother came out, as soon as she barely came clean with that.
1:24:54
Drew
Yeah, I'm feeling like that. And what I said before was that you were being protected. So I do feel like your mom knows a lot more. And it's up to you to ask.
1:25:01
Adam
Does she have? Does your mom, would you know where to find him?
1:25:07
Caller
Uh, not, not, not according to her.
1:25:12
Drew
But she knows what happened then. So you can trace it back to then. And she does know exactly what happened then. Talk to her.
1:25:17
Lysa Mateu
Be much more open with her. Much more direct.
1:25:20
Adam
You really need to find this guy?
1:25:22
Lysa Mateu
It's like you don't want to know, Justin. If you don't want to know, you're not going to find out.
1:25:25
Caller
Uh-huh.
1:25:27
Adam
The guy skipped out though, right?
1:25:28
Lysa Mateu
Yep.
1:25:29
Caller
Yeah, at the time, he was...
1:25:31
Adam
Involved in bad stuff.
1:25:34
Caller
Not they had a kid, but she had a kid and...
1:25:37
Adam
Who had a kid? His...
1:25:38
Caller
His mom.
1:25:39
Caller
I'm sorry?
1:25:39
Lysa Mateu
Your mom?
1:25:40
Caller
Yes.
1:25:41
Adam
Your mom had a kid?
1:25:42
Caller
No.
1:25:43
Adam
He did.
1:25:44
Drew
The dad.
1:25:44
Caller
The woman that my dad was meeting back then.
1:25:46
Caller
Oh, good.
1:25:47
Adam
I hope the kid killed him.
1:25:49
Drew
This is horrible. He was involved in bad stuff and he was to be protected.
1:25:52
Adam
What were these guys having other kids for though? For Christ's sake. You already got one. You're breaking the kid's heart. Hey, Justin? Yeah. Listen, buddy, I know you're depressed, and I know you blame all this on this situation, and then it's going to become like some kind of goddamn holy grail for you, and it's going to make everything better. Let me tell you what's going to happen. I'm psychic. You're going to spend a bunch of money and a bunch of time. You're going to find the guy. He's going to be living out in Oxnard, in some trailer park. He's going to be weird and uncomfortable. He's not going to have any good reasons why he fled, and it's going to be very unsatisfying, and you're going to be even more depressed. Screw it.
1:26:30
Caller
I'm not so much depressed as I think about it every once in a while, you know.
1:26:35
Adam
Sounds like more than that.
1:26:36
Drew
He just wants another truth.
1:26:37
Adam
The truth is the guy skipped out. What do you think? He's abducted by criminals?
1:26:42
Lysa Mateu
And it may be simple enough to find out.
1:26:44
Caller
The most unsettling part about it is my grandmother and I were really close, and I don't understand that portion of it at all.
1:26:51
Lysa Mateu
We can't help you understand that, but your mom can.
1:26:54
Adam
Yeah. Well, I mean, what are the chances grandma and dad were both just kept away because mom gave them a talking to? I don't think so.
1:27:06
Lysa Mateu
So what do you think it is?
1:27:07
Adam
I think grandma is an alcoholic.
1:27:10
Drew
I don't think they were kept away. I think that mom didn't tell him as far as protection, but she does know.
1:27:15
Adam
She may know more than nothing.
1:27:18
Drew
Yeah.
1:27:18
Adam
But that was 10 years ago. God knows a guy could have moved a thousand times. Here's the deal. Grandma is this alcoholic and mom to this idiot. So she's a piece of crap. This guy gets himself another woman and has another kid. The old lady, the new old lady, she's not hip about him hanging out at grandma's house and visiting the old biological kid. And she says, Let's go to Florida and get started fresh. Anytime this guy brings up his old family, the new old lady gets pissed off about it and they just screwed it. Grandma died four years ago and that was it. Hey, you want to start somewhere? Start in Florida. All the jackasses and troublemakers go to Florida.
1:27:58
Lysa Mateu
The ones that...
1:27:59
Adam
Don't go to Vegas, go to Florida. Vegas and Florida. This becomes the United States' liver. This is the liver of this country. All the garbage gets, all the toxins and everything. It all ends up in Florida and Nevada.
1:28:15
Lysa Mateu
Is Florida an overflow from Vegas or is it first stop before Vegas?
1:28:19
Adam
It's tough. I think...
1:28:21
Lysa Mateu
Or just the alternative to Vegas.
1:28:22
Adam
Every fugitive, every criminal, every screwball just flips a coin at a certain point in life and says, what's it going to be? Florida or Vegas? That's where they end up.
1:28:30
Lysa Mateu
But don't they just decide waffles, yes or no? Yeah.
1:28:34
Adam
You want waffles, you go to Florida. You want a shrimp cocktail and 99 cent Heineken's and Jumbo Dogs, you head to Vegas. Right. It has become... I was saying to Lysa and Drew off the air that basically Vegas is the wrecking yard of human beings. This is where when you're all done and you wrap yourself around a telephone pole because someone is driving you drunk, you get dragged to Vegas and that's where you ride it out. People come over there and part you out. Calm down, Drew. Kyla? Hello. Hi. You're 42?
1:29:05
Caller
Yeah.
1:29:05
Adam
You want to know if your boyfriend dumped you two years ago?
1:29:10
Caller
Why?
1:29:10
Lysa Mateu
You're fat.
1:29:11
Adam
Oh, Drew.
1:29:12
Caller
Yeah, I am fat.
1:29:13
Adam
Well, finally.
1:29:14
Caller
I wasn't fat then.
1:29:15
Adam
Yeah, but he knew you were going to be fat. He was psychic.
1:29:17
Caller
Is that it?
1:29:18
Adam
Yeah, that's what I like to do. Let's get some guys talking to psychics. After the break. I'm thinking about marrying this bag. Is she going to get fat? Sorry, honey. That's what I want. We got to use psychics against women. We need male psychics to combat female psychics who collude with female.
1:29:35
Lysa Mateu
I see.
1:29:35
Caller
Hi, this is psychic Kenny Kingston.
1:29:37
Adam
No, no, I said male. Male. We're going to take a little break. Lysa Mateu, psychic, is here. We'll find out why Kyla's girlfriend left or boyfriend left after this.
1:29:50
Caller
Loveline, Loveline, 1-800-LOVE-191, we'll be right back.
1:30:28
Adam
Hey, everybody, Loveline. I'm Adam. That is Dr. Drew over there. Lysa Mateu is our guest. Lysa is the author of a book, Conversations with the Spirit World. She will be signing them at the Barnes and Noble, and doing readings, by the way, in Burbank on Thursday, week from today on the 21st at 7.30. And I'm guessing there's only one Barnes and Noble in Burbank there. I don't think that's a big reading city.
1:30:54
Lysa Mateu
The Media Center, is that what that is?
1:30:56
Adam
Yeah, it's on San Fernando Boulevard over there in Burbank. So you can check her out a week from today on Thursday. Also you can go to www.channelingspirits.com, channelingspirits.com, and find out where Lysa's going to be. Kayla?
1:31:18
Caller
Hey.
1:31:18
Adam
Alright, so you're 42.
1:31:20
Caller
Yes.
1:31:20
Adam
You want to know-
1:31:21
Lysa Mateu
You're a lesbian.
1:31:23
Drew
No. No, she's not.
1:31:24
Adam
Want to know why your boyfriend two years ago broke up with you?
1:31:28
Caller
It was a four-year relationship, and after kind of hemming and hawing all summer long, he busted up with me, and he never said why, really. He gave me the, I'm not in love with you, which I know just- that's just got to be a lie.
1:31:43
Lysa Mateu
Why? His feelings changed.
1:31:46
Caller
You really think so?
1:31:47
Lysa Mateu
Well, that happens to everybody. That's why the peo- and relationships end. If that didn't happen, relationships would never end.
1:31:54
Adam
Well, what is your hypotheses? I mean, why would he break up if he was still in love?
1:32:03
Lysa Mateu
I don't know. I'm- Carolla, you've got to, you've got to be, you've got to sort of connect with reality. People love and then not love. That is a real human thing. They don't always stay in love. They don't stay in love forever, necessarily. Some people are lucky enough to have still passion relationship or stay committed, but he was in and then he's out. It happens throughout the life cycle.
1:32:24
Drew
Right. Now the real question is, what are you going to do to move on from this? Because knowing why is not going to change what happened.
1:32:30
Lysa Mateu
Well, she knows why. His feelings changed.
1:32:32
Drew
But it's not going to change where you're at right now.
1:32:34
Adam
Yeah. What if Lysa said he met somebody else? Either way, it's been a couple of years.
1:32:39
Caller
That would be a different answer, wouldn't it?
1:32:41
Lysa Mateu
His feelings changed.
1:32:42
Adam
Not really. Listen, there's a million different answers, but if it's the same problem, if it's the same result, then it's academic. You're clinging.
1:32:54
Caller
I see what you're saying.
1:32:55
Lysa Mateu
If you were madly in love, you wouldn't have picked another relationship.
1:32:57
Adam
What you're doing is you're clinging to something that you should not cling to because it's important for you to move on in your life.
1:33:04
Caller
I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of that.
1:33:06
Adam
You are?
1:33:07
Caller
Sure. But every now and then you have the odd dream and you just like, oh, that's so bad.
1:33:13
Adam
Well, what are you doing? You're living in Valley Village and my mom lives there.
1:33:18
Caller
That's a nice neighborhood.
1:33:19
Adam
Yeah. It was the one part of North Hollywood that didn't go to hell, so they had to change the name to Valley Village because-
1:33:25
Caller
They reverted. It was previously Valley Village, yeah.
1:33:28
Adam
Was it?
1:33:29
Caller
Yeah. There's an old post office that says Valley Village on it. It was clearly built in the 40s or 30s.
1:33:33
Adam
Yeah. They really should just call themselves, we're not North Hollywood.
1:33:37
Caller
Yes.
1:33:39
Adam
Don't get us wrong, we're no Studio City, but we're not with those idiots in North Hollywood. All right. I'm psychic. I'm going to guess where you live.
1:33:47
Lysa Mateu
Not North Hollywood, not Toot the Lake.
1:33:49
Adam
I say you live somewhere off of Colfax Street.
1:33:54
Caller
Not far from there.
1:33:55
Adam
Yeah. Colfax, maybe the Riverside area.
1:34:00
Caller
Oh, no. You missed it.
1:34:01
Adam
Moorpark.
1:34:02
Caller
You were so close, too.
1:34:03
Adam
Was it Moorpark?
1:34:04
Caller
No, no.
1:34:04
Adam
Magnolia?
1:34:05
Caller
Yeah.
1:34:06
Adam
Jesus, you're a North Hollywood sister.
1:34:07
Caller
Who are you kidding?
1:34:09
Caller
No, there's signs all the way around the neighborhood.
1:34:11
Adam
Yeah, they put those there to make you feel good. Yeah. So you're around North Hollywood High?
1:34:16
Caller
When you're down at Moorpark, you're in Studio City.
1:34:20
Adam
You're getting there. Yeah.
1:34:22
Caller
You're there.
1:34:23
Adam
Well, it depends what side of it you're on, smart ass. If you're on the Riverside side of it, you're not-
1:34:30
Caller
If you're south of Burbank, you're still in Valley Village.
1:34:34
Caller
Who cares?
1:34:36
Lysa Mateu
Well, these are fascinating stories.
1:34:39
Adam
Are you over there by North Hollywood High?
1:34:41
Caller
Yeah.
1:34:42
Adam
Okay. All right. You got to get out of there. Oh, boy. That's horrible.
1:34:45
Caller
It's not bad.
1:34:46
Adam
Okay. You're dating?
1:34:48
Caller
No.
1:34:48
Adam
What's up with that?
1:34:50
Caller
I don't know how to date. I don't know how people even do that anymore. Why not? I don't think I've ever been very good at it.
1:34:57
Drew
She's a relationship woman.
1:34:58
Adam
Are you working?
1:34:59
Caller
Oh, yeah.
1:35:00
Adam
Okay. You have any kids?
1:35:01
Caller
No.
1:35:02
Adam
Never had any kids, huh?
1:35:03
Caller
Yeah, I make you happy.
1:35:05
Adam
I wouldn't mind you having a kid or two.
1:35:06
Lysa Mateu
Why aren't you dating?
1:35:09
Caller
I don't really see anybody that I want to date and vice versa.
1:35:13
Drew
She meets somebody and gets a relationship. Like me, I never dated. I just met somebody and always had a relationship.
1:35:18
Caller
Well, there are people who always have a relationship. I'm not one of those.
1:35:22
Drew
So you didn't date before you get into a relationship as far as going out with a lot of different people. You're more into the long term than just one night.
1:35:30
Adam
I had a vision. I have you meeting someone down at the Shakey's on Laurel Canyon there between Chandler and Magnolia. I would like that should be your new hangout. That's where you will meet your dream man. Shakey's, it's a good time. Look, even if you don't meet a guy, you have some mojo potatoes and enjoy that player piano. It's a good time there.
1:35:52
Lysa Mateu
What's with those Shakey's? They've done up like King Arthur's castle.
1:35:55
Adam
You've never been to Shakey's?
1:35:56
Lysa Mateu
Yeah, but you would know it's all done up in old English. It's like ye olde Shakey's.
1:36:00
Adam
Yeah, no, it's Pizza Parlor and ye olde public house.
1:36:04
Caller
What is that?
1:36:05
Adam
I thought that meant bathroom when I was a kid. Eric?
1:36:10
Caller
Eric?
1:36:12
Caller
Eric?
1:36:13
Lysa Mateu
Yeah. 19, what's up?
1:36:15
Caller
Who's this?
1:36:16
Adam
Okay, you blew it. Let's see. Let's talk to Connie who's 20. Connie?
1:36:22
Caller
Hi.
1:36:23
Adam
You want to know if you're ever going to find the love of your life?
1:36:26
Caller
Yeah.
1:36:26
Adam
All right.
1:36:27
Caller
And other things, of course.
1:36:28
Caller
Now, are you ever?
1:36:30
Drew
Yes, of course you're going to find the love of your life. That doesn't take a psychic. It's about you being open to finding the love of your life. You're not going to find them right now. You're not going to get married until you're 26.
1:36:39
Caller
For real?
1:36:40
Drew
For real.
1:36:41
Adam
26.
1:36:42
Lysa Mateu
For real.
1:36:43
Drew
Yeah.
1:36:44
Adam
You'll be pregnant in the next three months.
1:36:45
Caller
You're not going to be married until you're 26.
1:36:47
Drew
Absolutely not. You absolutely won't be pregnant in the next three months. But when people ask me things, will I ever be happy? Will I find love in my life? That's up to you. You have to be open to it and you're going to find love. As long as you don't date jerks, you'll find love.
1:37:00
Caller
Oh, D. That's too late.
1:37:02
Drew
No, that's right. As long as you don't date jerks, you'll find love.
1:37:05
Adam
You single right now?
1:37:07
Caller
Yes, I'm single.
1:37:08
Adam
All right. I just got over a Rocky relationship.
1:37:12
Caller
You could say that.
1:37:13
Adam
This guy cheated on you?
1:37:14
Caller
Well, I really don't know. I haven't talked to him in a long time. And I kind of get sad when I get reminded what he did to me.
1:37:23
Adam
What'd he do to you?
1:37:25
Caller
Oh, he used me.
1:37:27
Adam
How'd he use you?
1:37:29
Caller
Well, he tried, I guess, to forget his ex-girlfriend.
1:37:33
Adam
Oh.
1:37:33
Lysa Mateu
Yeah. By having sex with you? Yeah.
1:37:37
Adam
Yeah. Then he went back with his ex?
1:37:39
Caller
I have no idea. And I would like to know, you know?
1:37:42
Lysa Mateu
Right. He wasn't trying to forget his ex-girlfriend. He was just trying to have sex with you.
1:37:47
Caller
Yeah.
1:37:48
Drew
You need to definitely wait much longer before you have sex with these people.
1:37:52
Adam
All right there, Connie.
1:37:53
Drew
Way too fast.
1:37:53
Caller
Huh?
1:37:54
Adam
Flo, yeah. You'll find Prince Charming.
1:37:56
Lysa Mateu
Don't get so physically involved so quickly.
1:37:58
Caller
Well, I try not to, but-
1:38:00
Caller
Well, don't.
1:38:00
Drew
Try not to don't. Don't. Do or don't. Don't.
1:38:04
Adam
What's going on, baby? Junior college?
1:38:06
Drew
Yeah.
1:38:07
Adam
Shocking. Shocking. Oh, psychic. Psychic. Shocking. I always know junior college when I hear it. All right, baby. You stay in that junior college. Minimum of 11 years, though. By then, you should have completed an entire semester, and it'll be time to move on to a nursing career. We'll take a break. We'll be back.
1:38:28
Caller
All right, guys.
1:38:29
Caller
Bottom line, here's the deal.
1:38:30
Caller
Looking to hook up. Sick of wasting time with the wrong person.
1:38:33
Caller
One call is all you need to make. Call the Dateline.
1:38:36
Lysa Mateu
877-889-DATE.
1:38:42
Caller
Love Line with Adam Corolla and Dr. Drew. 1-800-ROSS-1-N1 We'll be right back.
1:39:13
Caller
Hey, everybody, that's the show.
1:39:15
Adam
Drew picking our psychic's brain to find out when the next terrorist attack's gonna hit.
1:39:19
Lysa Mateu
I gotta plan my travel schedule.
1:39:22
Adam
That's what I love about Drew. He's a man of size, but a wuss at heart, everyone. Conversations with the Spirit World is the name of Lysa Mateu's book. Also, you can go to www.channelingspirits.com and find out more about upcoming events. Thursday, Barnes and Noble in Burbank, 730. 21st Book Signing. Thanks for coming back on, Lysa.
1:39:47
Caller
Yes, thank you.
1:39:48
Adam
We're plum out of time and you'll be back next year.
1:39:52
Drew
Every year I'll come just to see you.
1:39:53
Adam
I am psychic. I want to thank Damian for doing a great job on the phones all week. Tara, don't call me Tara, for doing a very nice job on the phones as well. I want to thank Lauren for doing a nice job filling in for producer Anne in the producer role and producer Anne for filling in for herself.
1:40:14
Caller
The producer is vastly overrated.
1:40:16
Adam
Yeah. Is producer Anne, does she fill in for herself when she's in here or is that just her doing her job? She's doing her job. That's right. I want to thank engineer Anderson for doing a wonderful job. All week and all year for that matter. So until next time, this is Adam Corolla for Dr. Drew saying, Mahalo.
1:40:34
My boyfriend, I don't know exactly where am I going with him or what's going to happen.
1:40:39
Adam
He's going to die of a snake bite.
1:40:41
Lysa Mateu
Thump him.
1:40:42
Caller
