4:25🔗 Adam And it's called Get Some, Go Again. It's the Rollins band. We'll hear something off of that. I also, probably a couple of things off of that. I also have some dates that I'll alert you to, where you can find Henry coming up because he will be touring, supporting the sound.

4:45🔗 Henry Rollins Not now. Just got the band going from March until September. So I did 99 of those shows last year, but this year is mostly a band year.

6:00🔗 Henry Rollins Yeah. I try and do different stuff just so I'm not doing anything for too long. The band takes a long time because it's more than just me. So you got to get everyone together for band practice, for the tour. And so it takes a good nine months to realize a whole band tour or longer if you want to keep orbiting the globe. And this will be till the fall.

6:21🔗 Adam Right. And are you looking forward to hitting the stage with the musicians now after being out there solo for a while?

6:29🔗 Henry Rollins Oh yeah. Can't wait. We did 40 shows last year, everywhere from America to some festivals in Europe and had a great time. And we're doing a show, the MC5 have a Best Of record coming out the 7th of next month and they're having a big release party and we're playing that at Spaceland here in LA. Tuesday the 7th. So that will be the first gig of the year really.

6:53🔗 Adam And also then, wow, are we in Canada at all? Yeah. This show going to Canada?

6:59🔗 Drew We live in Vancouver and up there in Seattle.

10:37🔗 Caller Well, I talked to my parents. I was really scared from watching some sex ed videos. And my parents took me to a clinic and I got checked out. And it turned out I had chlamydia. So they gave me some medicine for that. And I took the antibiotics. And then later on, I talked to the guy that I had had sex with recently. And this guy didn't have it. He went and got checked and he didn't have it. So that really worried me. That means that before him, I hadn't had sex for about a year and a half. So it means I would have had the disease for about maybe two years or so.

11:12🔗 Caller And that really worried me because when I was having sex with this guy, we had had sex like a lot of times and we didn't use condoms most of the time. So and then later on when we talked about it, he said that he like come to me just about every time.

12:30🔗 Caller The question is, I still have some cramps. I read up a lot on the chlamydia and stuff and how it can turn into pelvic inflammatory disease. And I was thinking, like, hey, I didn't get pregnant any of those times, which kind of freaked me out. Not that I wanted to, but, I mean, out of all those times. And then, like, I mean, and I still get some cramps. And I do get chills. And it just, like, scares the crap out of me that I might have pelvic inflammatory disease. I'm having it so long.

13:01🔗 Drew No, no, no, no, no. You're confusing all these things. PID is a fairly acute syndrome. A lot of pain, often fevers, this sort of thing, discharge. And the indolent infection in the tubes that is really what tends to cause the infertility is probably what you, in fact, had. So PID, you may still have infection. You may even still have scarring and all sorts of things left over from the chlamydia. And that may be what's causing your symptoms. So it's important. And there could be another problem. So you've got to see a gynecologist. You probably will have to have a laparoscopy and really get completely checked out and followed and managed going forward to make sure that you don't have problems in the future. And again, there may be some fertility issues here that you want to stay on top of.

17:53🔗 Henry Rollins What happened was at the end of 1997, we finished all the shows for the year and we all decided that there is really no more music for us to do together after 10 and a half years. It was time for us to go run and play with other people. So the guitar player went off and worked on Bowie's record. The drummer worked with the Jay Giles band. The bass player went off with DJ Logic and some other New York jazz bands, and the sound man went to Europe and started working with a bunch of European pop and rock bands. I went off and did this New Rollins band record with these, my new guys, and so everyone went their separate ways and immediately got involved with other stuff really fast. So, yeah, and the new thing is very hard rockin, real straight ahead, different than the last stuff.

18:43🔗 Henry Rollins Oh, cool. Yeah, so that's what happened. Everyone else's, the bass player, Melvin, just had a kid, so he's like, you know, into being a dad. So everyone's cool, you know.

45:33🔗 Drew It's reasonable for you to try off the pill to see if it makes a difference, but don't be surprised. It could get worse.

45:44🔗 I would say yes. I would say it would be during the time that she takes the blue pills. There's a cycle of white pills, and then there's about five days of blue pills. During the blue pill cycles, she gets kind of crampy and angry.

46:08🔗 Adam Before you just go off memory, Mike, once you head down to the basement, and pull the file on Eileen, and just substantiate some of those allegations you made, go as far back as, let's say, December 94, 95, and let's pull that data, pull that graph up, and let's take a look at that. 47:02🔗 Drew In some women, the progestational agent can add to irritability more than the estrogen. And so when she gets on the progesterone elements, that could contribute to this. But some women have more of that circulating when they're premenstrual anyway. And so it can actually get worse when they come off the pill. But it's possible that she's having reaction. I think it's worth trying a couple of months off to see if it gets better. But don't be surprised if it gets worse.

1:12:42🔗 Caller If we didn't have remotes like that, that would be cool. No, actually, I went to one of my first raves this weekend. I went to the other one. They're pretty small, but this one was pretty big. I think someone dropped in to eat my beer, and I'm not sure. I mean, I'm cool with it. People can do it around me. I just don't do it. I think it was in my beer because the effect I had was I got really hyper. My body started getting hot, so I sat down and I chilled. A lot of my friends say time passes by fast, but it didn't really go by fast. It went kind of normal.

1:13:27🔗 Adam Actually, there's something sort of diabolical about going to a rave straight, because it's just pretty much chicks out of their mind, high on acts, this close to passing out, dancing and falling all over the place. You basically just go in there and have your pick of the litter. I mean, I'm not talking about date rape. You know what I mean? If you're young and you're trying to get laid, why don't you just go to a rave and instead of getting effed up out of your mind and not being able to navigate the place, why don't you just stay straight, pick up some chicks?

1:14:01🔗 Caller Raves aren't really meant for going in there and just getting laid and everything. I mean, if you're out there to have a good time and everything like that, people have this bad image.

1:14:15🔗 Caller What are some of the effects of E?

1:14:17🔗 Drew A single exposure if it's not a very large one, usually it can get by without any significant damage, provided that nothing happened to you while you were using it. You can have episodes where you get psychotic, you can get locked in, where your muscles get rigid and you can't move, and that can last for a week. I've had people in the hospital on IVs because they can't swallow, they can't move their eyes even. And the big issue with E is that the regular use, and we don't know how much use, results in a burnout or a destruction of the serotonin pathways in the brain, which are responsible for mood, controlling anxiety and memory.

1:15:10🔗 Caller I feel drugged though because during today at school, I mean, I felt like I was drugged. I think I was like all tired and my vision was kind of not all that great.

1:15:17🔗 Henry Rollins Well, if you had an e-experience, you're lucky to walk away with it, you know, and be so intact and you should, if you're going to drink beer, guard your container and, you know, don't, and never take that stuff.

1:15:32🔗 Drew All right. Let me have a couple quick points here as I got off the web. Hepatitis C is transmissible sexually as far as I'm concerned, male to female or female to male. So, it is one of the sexually transmitted diseases. It's basically exactly like HIV. Prozac will completely turn off your sex drive and one way to avoid that is either to use or add wellbutrin, remeron, and serozone or other options. And another question was, what does it mean when a doctor says there's inflammation on a pap? Have you ever heard of that?

1:16:01🔗 Adam Pap smear, you mean? Yeah. There's inflammation on it?

1:16:03🔗 Drew Yeah, sometimes the doctor will say, it's not dysplastic, it's not abnormal, it's just inflamed. And that usually means a vaginal infection. A doctor will give you a cream usually for that. And then they go back and repeat the pap, and you should see that go away.

1:16:19🔗 Adam Yeah, inflamed vagina.

We'll listen to something from the Rollins band. This is off of Get It On. Go again, and it's the same name. That's Henry Rollins, everybody. Back to basic. You can find Henry at the Tower Records on Sunset. He'll be signing the album. And then you can find him all around the country and parts of Canada, touring with the New Rollins band. How did you meet up with these guys, or how did you find them?

1:19:12🔗 Henry Rollins The band guys I'm playing with are a local Los Angeles band, a very fine band called Mother Superior. And I've produced their last two records, and they're good friends of mine. And a couple years ago, we were working on an album of theirs called Deep. And I asked them if they would help me with some song ideas I had, and maybe if they felt charitable, they would write some stuff with me in mind. And we wrote 23 songs in a very short amount of time and put them on tape in a very short amount of time. And the song that we just played, we wrote the first night of the first time we got together. And that was done in two takes, and the vocal you hear on there is the vocal from the actual take. We just pretty much did it, and we're done with it. Well, it's not rocket science, what we're playing, you know?

1:19:56🔗 Adam No, and you know, with the kind of music that you play, why not do it in the first take? I mean, what I mean is, it's visceral, it's powerful. It's not really about putting a fine polish on it. It's a lot of it. It's about energy. It's about an attitude.

1:20:15🔗 Adam Yeah, and it's hard to muster that on the 15th or 25th take. Sure. Mike? Yeah? You're 15. What's up?
