Voiceover
Listener discretion is advised. Adam Corolla and Dr. Drew Loveline, Coast to Coast.
1:12
Adam
Yep, it is Loveline. I'm Adam Corolla, that's Dr. Drew over there. Phone number 1-800-L-O-V-E-1-9-1, fax number 3-1-0, I almost said that fax number, didn't I?
1:24
Drew
What's with you?
1:26
Adam
Mark Hoppus is here tonight from Blink 182. The new CD will be out June 12th, and that is called Take Off Your Pants and Jacket. We're going to world premiere a song tonight, I hear. Mark can be found on the Craig Kilborn show tonight, which is good timing because you can listen to him here on Loveline and then tune in to him on television. Because I know a lot of you who are listening to the show aren't familiar with his look. He's a tall, rangy fellow, sort of has that boy next door.
1:59
Blink 182
What's rangy?
2:00
Drew
I use the F word a lot when you're out on stage.
2:02
Blink 182
Yeah, I do.
2:04
Adam
Rangy is good. It means you get to a lot of balls other people wouldn't get to.
2:10
Blink 182
Okay, cool. All right. I was still thinking about the F word comment and trying to figure out why exactly that is. What do they say? Obscenity is the lack of wit or something like that? What's the saying?
2:22
Drew
Adam uses them all the time.
2:23
Adam
Well, I hope they don't say that. I know brevity has something to do with something, but yes, it means you're stupid and you have nothing else to say if you just make jack-off jokes and fart jokes like I do. But I got to kill two hours a night, so screw all you. Five million copies sold from Enema of the State, which is Blink's last CD. I don't believe that. I mean, not that you guys aren't a good band, but you're such a bunch of jack-offs. It's just serious commercial success with screwballs. The band's great, you guys are great musicians, the sound is great. But three guys shouldn't be able to sell five million records.
3:06
Blink 182
Definitely not us three guys, that's for sure.
3:09
Adam
And I know this sounds trite, but did you ever think five million on your last CD?
3:14
Blink 182
Not at all. I mean, when we were recording Enema Estate, I remember everyone was like, oh my God, how are you going to ever possibly top the success of Dude Ranch? Because Dude Ranch had gone gold. Right. And we were like, you know, we're never going to be as big as Dude Ranch. That was like, we thought that was going to be our like our swan song. We were done after that. But you know.
3:30
Adam
Well, how many did you sell Dude Ranch?
3:33
Blink 182
Dude Ranch finally went platinum.
3:35
Adam
But that's still selling, right?
3:36
Blink 182
Yeah, it's still selling.
3:37
Adam
I mean, I mean, people knew Blink 182. But I can imagine when Anima of the State came out, there's a certain percentage of people who went back and got Dude Ranch. Right.
3:47
Blink 182
Yeah, totally.
3:48
Adam
And I don't think that's going to happen with Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, by the way, because I think the word's out on Blink. All right. And I mean that in a good way.
3:56
Blink 182
Well, thank you.
3:57
Adam
I know that sounded like that.
3:58
Blink 182
I have such envy of your J and Silent Bob Strike Back patch on your shirt right now.
4:02
Adam
Really?
4:03
Blink 182
Yeah.
4:03
Adam
Well, it's not it's the whole screw you.
4:06
Blink 182
Hey, what movie did I just see you in the other day? You were like a construction foreman and you yelled at somebody.
4:10
Adam
Somebody told me about that. Yeah, it's called the Splendor. It was that Greg Araki thing I did like five years ago.
4:15
You know, I guess so.
4:17
Blink 182
Yeah, I just saw it the other day.
4:19
Adam
If you want to know about consistency in attire, take a look at this picture that was just two weeks ago. Two weeks ago.
4:29
Two weeks ago.
4:32
Drew
I can't even describe the scene here. Adam was holding up a picture of he and I and Ron Lester when Ron was in here ten days ago.
4:40
Adam
It could have been three weeks, I don't know.
4:42
Drew
Adam is holding it up next to himself now to show the fact that the clothing he was wearing on that night is precisely, exactly the same.
4:49
Blink 182
Same t-shirt, same jacket, everything.
4:52
Adam
Just like James Dean, except for I only wear free crap people give me. All right, no, I did this Jane Silent Bob Strikeback in the Game of the Jacket.
5:00
Blink 182
Really? Are you in it a lot? Is it rad?
5:02
Adam
I have a good, good long scene. I don't know if they cut it out or not. And I don't know when it's coming out. You guys will know.
5:10
Blink 182
I can't wait. I love Kevin Smith and his movies are so good.
5:13
Adam
Yeah, he's a good guy. He's a nice guy. I think he was on this show years ago and I told him to put me in one of his movies and lo and behold, he did. Steven? Yeah. You're 17? Yep. What's up?
5:23
Caller
First, I want to say hi to Blink. They're awesome.
5:25
Blink 182
Well, thank you.
5:26
And my friend, if I think you're just like his idols.
5:29
Blink 182
Oh, well, I'm sorry.
5:32
Caller
I was just curious.
5:33
I've heard a lot that Mountain Dew actually shrinks your Peter. And I didn't know if that's true.
5:38
Drew
Yeah, I doubt that's true.
5:41
Really?
5:41
Drew
I don't see how.
5:42
Blink 182
You can't use that as an excuse.
5:44
Yeah.
5:45
Adam
How much do you doing?
5:48
I don't know, three a day.
5:49
Adam
Yeah. As you know, I've been on record as describing Mountain Dew is the nectar of the tards. Until I was yelled at by a program director who said they spend a lot on advertising.
6:02
Drew
Pepsi.
6:03
Adam
Yes, and that they're owned by Pepsi and that I can never say that again, so I won't do that. But Steven, I really have a plan to save the world, which is to put a sterilization agent in Mountain Dew, that if you drink more than, let's say, a sixer a week, you will go sterile.
6:18
Drew
It won't shrink your penis, but it will knock out your sperm.
6:20
Adam
Those people will not be able to reproduce and will be living in a utopia inside of two generations. All right, well, Steven, just on the off chance that psychologically you think it shrinks your penis, don't you want to get away from it?
6:33
Yeah, I guess I do.
6:34
Adam
All right, there, buddy. Step up to coffee now.
6:37
All right.
6:37
Adam
All right, good times. Thanks. Mike.
6:42
What's up?
6:42
Adam
You're 22.
6:44
Caller
Yes. How's it going, guys? Good. I'd just like to tell you guys that I always watch or listen to your show on the way home from work. I commute like about an hour home and you guys keep me awake. It's pretty cool. I like it.
6:54
Caller
Thanks.
6:56
Caller
Also, I am currently drinking Mountain Dew and I really hope that that's not true because I've been drinking it for a good while.
7:01
Adam
Really? You have one in your hand right now?
7:03
Caller
I have a 20 ounce Mountain Dew in my hand that I'm almost finished with.
7:07
Adam
Sorry about the neck there, Lyle.
7:08
Blink 182
You know what this guy sounds like? It sounds like it rubs a lotion on its skin from Science of the Lambs.
7:17
Adam
Get back in the hole. It should get back in the hole. All right, Mike, what do you do for a living that you're commuting so long every night?
7:24
Caller
Actually, I have two jobs. I work in Austin, Texas. I work at a halfway house and then I work at a dance club.
7:32
Adam
Drew, are there any full houses or they all half houses?
7:35
Drew
Half way houses.
7:36
Adam
What does that mean?
7:37
Drew
Half way out into the world.
7:39
Adam
I see. And is there any quarter or three quarter houses?
7:41
Drew
I'd like that, but we don't have those yet.
7:43
Adam
Actually, they do.
7:44
Caller
They do.
7:45
Adam
They have quarter houses?
7:46
Caller
Yeah, they have like three quarter houses and it's like depending on how much freedom they get.
7:50
Drew
Oh, really? This is for jail things.
7:51
Adam
I see. And what do you do over there? Mock up vomit?
7:55
Caller
No, man. I'm like a monitor. That's what they call it.
7:57
Adam
I see.
7:58
Caller
It's a nice way of saying security.
7:59
Adam
All right. Do you have a question, Mike?
8:01
Caller
Yeah, actually, lately, I've been having a lot of trouble with the females and I was it's been brought to my attention this last girl that I was kind of dating. Say she said one thing that I've never been told before that I'm that I have too many like needs. And actually, she says, you're always asking me how I feel about you. You know what I'm saying?
8:24
Adam
Yeah, you're insecure.
8:25
Drew
Yeah, it's not needs. That's clinging, scared.
8:30
Blink 182
Is he sure that he's a male?
8:31
Drew
Yeah, I was going to say. Women do not like that, Mike.
8:34
Caller
Man, this is crazy because it's like the whole boomerang thing. It's like the opposite because this girl, she came to me, she was like all like, you know, I think you're, she met me at the club, of course, so I'm looking pretty, you know.
8:49
Adam
Right, you got the gold chain outside of the collar that's buttoned all the way up.
8:53
Drew
No, wait, no, no, is he dancing at the club? You understand what I'm saying?
8:56
Caller
No, I'm a door guy.
8:57
Adam
I see. Okay.
8:59
Caller
So anyways, she's like, you know, like, when I first, this is what she told me, she's like, when I first met you, you were like smooth and suave, you had it together, as soon as we started dating, it was like, like, I mean, I remember.
9:12
Adam
Really, you tell her when I first met you, you weren't so brutally goddamn honest. Jesus Christ.
9:19
Drew
God forbid you should be a human being. That's her thing.
9:22
Adam
Break up with her, Rico.
9:24
Caller
Man, I'm not, dude, I'm not even with her no more.
9:26
Adam
Okay.
9:26
Drew
All right, don't worry about it.
9:27
Adam
You see, Mike's one of these guys, this is why women hate men. You know what I mean?
9:32
Drew
No.
9:33
Adam
You know how women, most women, scared of guys, complain about guys.
9:37
Drew
He's the nice guy though.
9:38
Adam
Yeah, but he's, everything he does is done to impress. And I don't think women are getting his vibe. He's just doing all the things he thinks they want to see or hear.
9:50
Blink 182
They're not going to fall for that.
9:51
Adam
No. They're way too smart. You know why? Because they work off scent. That's what women do. They sniff you out like a dog. They know when you're scared. Doesn't matter what kind of show you put on. Margaret?
10:01
Yeah.
10:02
Adam
You're 15?
10:03
Caller
Yeah.
10:03
Adam
What's up?
10:04
Caller
Hey. Hey.
10:05
Caller
Who is this?
10:06
Adam
Who's this?
10:07
Caller
Oh my God, Adam. I thought you were like the people that work, you know, that-
10:11
Adam
Right. No, the little people.
10:14
Caller
Yeah, I'm sorry.
10:15
Adam
That's all right.
10:16
Caller
I can't believe I'm on.
10:17
Adam
Yeah. And you're on with Mark from Blink 182 too. I know.
10:19
Caller
That's why I called, Mark.
10:21
Blink 182
Yeah.
10:21
Caller
This is like so cool. I'm like the biggest Blink 182 fan in the world. You do not know.
10:25
Blink 182
Well, thank you.
10:26
Caller
And even though Tom's not there, Tom's the reason I started the guitar. And even though Travis isn't there, my sister Helen, who's right here like waving at me, that's the reason Travis is the reason she started playing the drums. And I was in the Riviera show at the Riviera Theater in Chicago.
10:40
Blink 182
Oh, cool.
10:41
Caller
And you have a sexy stomach, Justin.
10:44
Adam
He's hot. He knows it.
10:45
Blink 182
Hey, I've been off touring for a long time. We just started touring again. Man, I'm fat as hell. I'm sorry.
10:51
Caller
No, it was it was endearing.
10:54
Blink 182
I weigh the most now I've ever weighed in my life. I weigh 215.
10:57
Adam
Yeah, that's a side of beef. But you're one of these guys who puts it on everywhere, not just in the gut. It looks good.
11:05
Blink 182
So do you have some kind of sexual dysfunction or problem we can make fun of?
11:07
Caller
Well, no, actually, I have a question for Adam and Drew, but it's not like a sexual question.
11:12
Adam
Okay, they're going to be in Chicago July 7th, by the way. Oh, I know.
11:15
Caller
I have tickets for that already.
11:16
Adam
All right, sorry.
11:17
Caller
Because the ticket was $12. I'm like, whoa.
11:19
Blink 182
That's right. We're the cheapest. We have the least expensive ticket going out this summer.
11:22
Adam
Well, three guys in a roadie. What's their overhead?
11:27
Caller
Adam and Drew?
11:27
Adam
Yeah?
11:28
Caller
You guys, I was just wondering, I know this is kind of a stupid question, but I've been wondering this for a while. But you guys, when you guys were on the show, you sort of had this sort of like vibe, like you didn't like each other. And then when you're on the radio, you guys sound like you're like best friends. And I'm just wondering, when you guys first met, like when Adam first came to the show, what did you think of him, Dr. Drew?
11:48
Adam
Be honest.
11:49
Drew
Same thing as now. And television, we were getting direction and the direction was Adam, you're the funny guy, Drew, you're the serious guy. Now go.
12:00
Adam
Yeah. They didn't tell us to fight, did they?
12:02
Drew
No, but we would though, because they were yelling at my ear.
12:05
Caller
But like what did you really think of him when he first started?
12:08
Adam
Who knows? He doesn't know.
12:09
Drew
No, I remember. He's a despicable asshole. No, I thought this was a smart guy who was funny and who gave me enough room to do what I needed to do and that was important to me.
12:20
Caller
And Adam, what did you think of Drew?
12:23
Adam
I'd been listening to Drew on Loveline on K-Rock out here in Los Angeles for years, so I already knew him. I mean, I was excited to meet him, but I already felt like I knew him.
12:33
Caller
Okay.
12:34
Adam
And he's the same guy on the air as he is off the air. Maybe even more boring off the air.
12:39
Caller
And Adam, the world is your oyster thing.
12:43
Adam
Yeah.
12:43
Caller
You got to put more in the, because that's all there is.
12:47
Adam
The world is your oyster. I mean, because that's all the world is.
12:51
Caller
That's all there is.
12:52
Adam
Yeah. I got to hit all?
12:54
Caller
Yeah.
12:54
Adam
Okay. Thanks. Are you writing a paper or something?
12:58
Caller
No, I'm just...
12:58
Adam
Okay. Well, leave us alone then, please. Jesus Christ. Rachel?
13:04
Yeah.
13:04
Adam
You're 15?
13:05
Caller
Yeah.
13:05
Adam
What's up?
13:06
Caller
First, I want to say I've been listening to the show for a while. It's really awesome. And I, you know, she's full crap, because I am the biggest Blink fan. I seriously am.
13:14
Thank you.
13:14
Caller
Yeah. Okay. Anyways, my question, it has to do with marijuana and the effects that it has on you.
13:21
Right.
13:22
Caller
Like, I don't, my short-term memory is just gone.
13:24
Drew
Right.
13:25
Caller
I have the worst short-term memory, and I have to smoke at least every night before bed, otherwise I can't get to sleep. And the nights that I don't have it, I'll either drink or I'll scrape my pipe and try to smoke the little bit of resin that I have.
13:40
Adam
Well, you're 15, that's perfectly natural, perfectly healthy.
13:43
Drew
Turns out in the studies, some studies, that the effect on the brain, the actual biological effect, is more profound under the age of 16. So, the fact that you're having the memory problems and what not, no surprise. Also, mood disturbances and panic.
13:55
Adam
What do you drink when you have to drink?
13:57
Caller
Well, usually I can get a couple of beers, you know, but sometimes if my parents have hard alcohol, I'll make like a screwdriver or something.
14:04
Blink 182
How do you get beers when you're 15 and you live at home? How do you drink beers before you go to bed?
14:08
Caller
Well, my parents are kind of messed up, too, and my dad's on like an antidepressant, and so he'll take those and not eat and drink like 12 beers.
14:16
Drew
He's an alcoholic, though, and the antidepressants aren't going to do anything to him until he gets that alcoholism treatment.
14:21
Caller
Yeah, and well, he drinks so much, he blacks out, so he doesn't remember how much he drank. My mom's kind of the same way, so it's easy to get away with three or four beers.
14:29
Where's my bourbon?
14:31
Adam
Well, you got the groundwork laid for some alcoholism, baby.
14:35
Drew
Yeah.
14:35
Adam
You're right on time.
14:37
Drew
She's a marijuana addict. She's already in.
14:39
Adam
So you got to make a move.
14:40
Blink 182
So you can be addicted to marijuana for real, because everybody says marijuana is not addictive.
14:44
Caller
No, you have no idea. I've been smoking it for two years, and that just-say-no crap is not true, because I remember I tried to say no all night.
14:52
Adam
It could be true if you said no.
14:54
Blink 182
It sounds like it's true.
14:55
Drew
No, but Rachel, tell them about what was like the first time you really got high on it.
15:00
Caller
What? When was the first time?
15:01
Drew
Oh, Drew. Let me do it with Rachel. Why don't you tell us how she felt? People that are addicts have this extremely powerful response to the drug. They love it. It's the greatest thing ever. And when you just had that experience, you wake up the next day looking for the drug, and the next day, and the next day, and the next day. And when they try to stop, they can't, they cannot stop. And that's what addiction is. You can stop or you can't. You can stop, you're not an addict. You can't stop, you need help, that's addiction. We know a lot about that biology then.
15:26
Caller
It's also like led to other things. I've done other drugs.
15:29
Blink 182
Like what?
15:31
Caller
I've done LSD a couple times.
15:33
Adam
Yeah, but where do you get your weed at 15? Who scores it for you?
15:36
Caller
Well, I live in the biggest donor town in the whole United States. I swear to God, everybody and their mother's smoking.
15:42
Blink 182
What do you do? What town is that?
15:45
Caller
Sonoma. It's like a little bit from San Francisco.
15:48
Adam
All that up north stuff, Humboldt and all that good stuff. Hey, Rachel, where do you get the money?
15:55
Caller
Actually, I have a job and it has gotten me into debt. I'm really in debt right now and I'm being screwed over.
16:01
Adam
Okay. Well, it's time to get some help, right?
16:03
Caller
Yeah, I know.
16:05
Drew
It will not stop without help, Rachel. Your memory will come back.
16:08
Caller
It will.
16:09
Drew
Yeah, take up to 12 months, but usually about six months comes back real nicely. But you got to stop everything.
16:15
Caller
All right.
16:15
Drew
Okay? And you won't be able to do that without some help.
16:17
Adam
So what should you do?
16:19
Drew
Go to MA, go to AA, go to a meeting, call a program, get involved.
16:23
Blink 182
Do they really have marijuana anonymous?
16:24
Adam
Oh, yeah.
16:25
Drew
Marijuana is the most common drug of addiction I treat right now.
16:27
Blink 182
Really?
16:28
Drew
Absolutely.
16:29
Adam
Hey, Mark, how did you score beer when you were 15 or 16?
16:33
Blink 182
Let's see. I don't remember. I remember we had a case of beer that me and my friends kept for a long time and then we drank it and it had gone bad by that point. We actually hit it out in the forest in Virginia and then we snuck out one night and drank it and it had been sitting in the forest in the sun for a long time and we all got really sick.
16:50
Adam
And I hope you learned a lesson.
16:52
Blink 182
Yeah. You know what?
16:54
Drew
Yeah, did you?
16:55
Adam
Do you still drink?
16:56
Blink 182
I never drank beer after that ever. Really? I hate the taste of beer. I can't even stand it now.
17:00
Adam
Ooh. Wow. Do that with the kids. Bury a sixer of malt liquor out in the yard.
17:06
Drew
Find it by accident.
17:07
Adam
I used to do that thing where I went to the liquor store and got the older dude who drove the El Camino, looked cool, usually named Kurt to go in and score for us. And it was always, you know, the first 10 guys who walked in the liquor store would turn you down. But then that one guy who kind of sympathized with your plight would go in there. And you'd give him 10 bucks and he'd come back with a five pack of Mickeys and no change. And he was like a foot and a half taller than you and you couldn't really say anything. What are you going to do, call the cops on him?
17:35
Blink 182
Yeah, I feel so weird because all going to a store and kids will do that to me. And I don't know what to say. I don't want to go to jail for you little guys getting drunk.
17:43
Adam
Oh, really? You've been asked to do that?
17:45
Blink 182
Yeah, I've been hit up.
17:46
Adam
I've dodged that bullet.
17:47
Drew
I wonder if you'd give money to the Man Show or buy for the Man Show Boy.
17:51
Adam
Oh, yeah, we have the Man Show Boy buying beer this season. Oh, was it last season? I think it was last season. Angela?
17:58
Hi.
17:59
Adam
You're 16?
18:00
Caller
Yeah.
18:00
Adam
What's up?
18:01
Caller
I just had to call because three of my most favorite people in the world are in the same room together. It's like, oh my God, Adam, you're like a freaking genius. And if you studied your own religion, I'd be your first father, right?
18:14
Adam
Oh, yeah? I'm thinking about that.
18:16
Caller
Yeah. And Mark, you're like, oh my God, you're my favorite band. And you know, Common Shadows too. And like, you don't know how much your music has helped me, you know? You guys are like such an inspiration.
18:28
Adam
Cool.
18:28
Blink 182
Thank you.
18:29
Adam
Did you have a question?
18:30
Caller
Well, I was wondering, like, is it safe to have, like, sex both ways, like anally and vaginally at the same time?
18:40
Drew
Two guys?
18:41
Adam
Two different penises?
18:42
Blink 182
How old are you?
18:44
Drew
Wow.
18:45
Blink 182
Dude, the world is a different place from when I was sixteen.
18:48
Drew
I didn't understand that was even something that people can see because I was about forty-two. I mean, is it possible?
18:51
Caller
I was just curious. I'm just really thinking about it.
18:55
Drew
Yeah, it's possible.
18:56
Caller
Can you, like, die or something?
18:57
Drew
Hmm, not exactly a healthy maneuver.
19:00
Blink 182
Don't sneeze while you're doing it.
19:01
Drew
And, Adam, in your porn collection, there must be examples of this.
19:04
Adam
There's some of that double penetration stuff. Yeah, I'll tell you who could die, your dad, if he walked in.
19:09
Drew
He'd have a stroke. Go hell and walk in, I just knew about it. I just found out about it in some way.
19:13
Adam
Oh my god.
19:15
Drew
And a thousand deaths.
19:16
Adam
And who's asked you kick first if you're the dad? You gotta go anal first, right?
19:20
Drew
And hang yourself. Definitely.
19:21
Blink 182
Definitely stuck. If you walk in and your daughter's having two dudes in two different places, definitely the anal one gets his ass kicked first.
19:28
Adam
Right, and then you go vaginal.
19:30
Blink 182
Yeah.
19:31
Adam
And then if there's an oral guy around, you go after him, but that's third. That's after anal and vaginal.
19:36
Blink 182
Hey, don't do that, please. Please don't do that.
19:40
Caller
Oh, okay.
19:41
Blink 182
Wait until, least until you're in college.
19:43
Adam
Right.
19:44
Blink 182
You have to save something for junior college.
19:47
Adam
Do you have a boyfriend?
19:48
Caller
Yeah.
19:49
Blink 182
Does he have a best friend?
19:50
Caller
Yeah.
19:51
Blink 182
Okay.
19:51
Drew
No.
19:52
Adam
Is he bucking for this?
19:54
Caller
No.
19:54
Drew
Good.
19:55
Caller
No, he wouldn't hate to, but I was just thinking about it.
19:58
Drew
Yeah, no, no, no, no, no.
19:59
So it's not possible?
20:01
Drew
Oh, it's possible, but don't go down that path, please.
20:03
Adam
Well, wait a minute. Are you looking to sort of be a pioneer in this field? I mean, maybe telling.
20:08
Caller
I've had fantasies about it, but that's about it.
20:11
Adam
Really? Were you ever abused?
20:15
Caller
No.
20:15
Adam
Everything good in your life?
20:16
Caller
Yeah.
20:17
Adam
Where's daddy?
20:18
Caller
Right over there. Right over there?
20:20
Adam
There he is.
20:21
Drew
He's listening. Do you have this conversation?
20:23
Caller
Yeah.
20:24
Blink 182
No, he's not.
20:25
Caller
No, he's not listening.
20:27
Drew
Okay.
20:27
Adam
Good. All right.
20:30
Drew
Is father McConaughey there too?
20:32
Caller
No.
20:32
Adam
Yeah. I'd like you to find Jesus Christ if you could.
20:34
Caller
All right? You're my god, Adam.
20:37
Adam
Okay. Well, as your god, I command you to only consume one penis at a time.
20:44
Caller
Okay.
20:45
Adam
All right?
20:45
Caller
Only if you said so.
20:46
Adam
All right. Otherwise, your head will grow in the ground like an onion.
20:50
Caller
Right.
20:50
Adam
Yeah. All right. Those old Jew wise tales don't seem to work very well in the younger set. All right, Angela.
20:57
Caller
I love you guys. Keep up the good work.
20:58
Caller
Thanks. All right.
21:00
Adam
Good times, everybody. Let's see.
21:03
Caller
Wow.
21:04
Adam
Yeah. That wasn't even. It's 16 was, I wouldn't set my goal any higher than getting a woman to touch my penis.
21:13
Blink 182
Oh, man.
21:13
Drew
You were still thinking babies came out the rear end at that point, weren't you?
21:18
Blink 182
They don't?
21:18
Adam
They don't. What are you saying? No, I didn't even know. I thought the hole for the vagina was on top. I didn't know. I thought it was three inches below the belly button is where you put it in. I thought it was in the furry part that I saw in the Playboys. I didn't know what was going on down there. I'm still confused quite frankly when Drew pulls out that anatomy part.
21:39
Drew
No wonder it's so tough for you.
21:41
Adam
Yeah. All right. Should we say hi to Kevin and then take a break?
21:44
Drew
You can just finish him if you want.
21:45
Adam
Kevin?
21:46
Caller
Yeah?
21:47
Adam
You're 13?
21:48
Caller
Yeah.
21:49
Caller
Hey guys, Blink. Oh my God.
21:50
Caller
I'm like your biggest fan ever.
21:52
Blink 182
Well, thank you, Kevin.
21:54
Caller
I'm going to the Coors Amphitheater show. I just feel like that's the best thing for me.
21:57
Blink 182
Awesome. Well, hey, we're going to say some words up on stage that you might not be familiar with and you might need to discuss them with your parents afterwards.
22:04
Adam
They use the F word a lot.
22:05
Drew
A lot.
22:06
Caller
Yeah.
22:07
Caller
Okay.
22:07
Caller
I have two questions. Yeah.
22:10
Caller
Okay.
22:11
Caller
I have two questions, actually.
22:12
Caller
First one is, what is your favorite video?
22:14
Caller
Like, what was the best video that you think you've ever made?
22:16
Blink 182
I think actually I like our newest one the best. I think it represents us, how we really are, and we're not acting like total idiots in it. And it was just a fun video to make. It was our idea with another guy, and we just brought it together.
22:31
Drew
And a team of technical people.
22:32
Blink 182
Yeah, a team from Lucas Films. But it was just a fun time to do, and we just blew a bunch of cash, and we got to hang out with our friends and film it.
22:38
Caller
Yeah, I love the part, strippers mowing the lawn.
22:41
Blink 182
That's right.
22:41
Yeah, good time.
22:43
Drew
Kevin, you said two questions. Is that it?
22:45
Caller
No, I wanted to know, why did you name your album Take Off Your Pants and Jacket?
22:49
Drew
You're gay.
22:52
Blink 182
Hey, seriously. No, honestly, you are gay. We just thought it was a funny title. And, you know, in a few years, once your body starts to develop in ways that you might not know about, then it'll make a lot more sense then.
23:03
Adam
Right. And so will Enema of the State.
23:07
Blink 182
That's a few more years even beyond that.
23:09
Adam
All right, Kevin. Okay, thank you. Thank you. Mark's here from Blink 182. We're going to take ourselves a little break and we'll be back after this.
23:20
Love Line with Adam Corolla and Dr. Drew. We'll be right back.
23:50
Adam
I'm Adam, that's Dr. Drew over there. Mark is here from Blink 182. You know what Mark's doing right now?
24:00
Drew
He's eating and chatting.
24:01
Adam
Oh, you want to go get him or?
24:02
Drew
No, I don't know why. He's a big star.
24:04
Adam
Really?
24:05
Drew
Here he comes.
24:05
Adam
Oh, sorry. Here he comes.
24:07
Blink 182
Sorry, I was talking to the policeman.
24:08
Adam
That's all right.
24:09
Drew
Oh, yeah.
24:10
Adam
Culver City PD came out here. Wow. Yeah, the Blink fans. They must be Blink fans.
24:15
Drew
They're cool.
24:15
Adam
They're not here for us.
24:16
Drew
They can't be. They kicked the crap out of Adam Lakers.
24:19
Adam
You know what I've, you know, my take on cops is you're either, you're either the best buddy or you're on their last nerve. They're either beating the ass out of you or telling you, you know, giving you your dime bag back and telling you get out of here.
24:35
Go run along now.
24:36
Adam
I have had that in my life. Not much. I don't meet too many cops that are just sort of indifferent. They're either, they either decide they hate me or they love me. But not a lot down the middle.
24:47
Blink 182
Right. That's true, huh? I never thought about that, but that is totally true.
24:51
Adam
Like you have an experience with a cop, it's either like, oh, son of a bitch. Oh, Jesus Christ, I got to load my car with fertilizer and drive it into the precinct. I'm going to kill those guys. I'm freaked out. It's either that or that dude was cool.
25:04
Blink 182
Yeah.
25:05
Adam
That dude was mellow.
25:07
Blink 182
Well, he just told me that if I ever were speeding, that he wouldn't give me a ticket. He let me go.
25:11
Adam
Now he's got to give you one. But he said not to say that on the air, right?
25:16
Blink 182
No. He said I could tell everybody and everybody gets a free pass tonight.
25:21
Adam
You know what's funny? We all have that one guy we know who's in law enforcement. I got my cousin Dave or distant cousin Dave, and he's a, Dave Furti. He's like a sheriff about 300 miles away. Every time I get pulled over, I'm going to, you know, LAPD, I'm like, you know, my cousin, Dave Furti. No. Where is he? He's with the San Gabriel Sheriff's Department. Maybe you heard of him. He works the desk. Like you can kind of get this feeling. It's like, you know, they should all know each other and you should drop a name and they should go, Oh, Furti, he's great. Yeah, you're a friend of his. Get out of here. Here, you want my gun? Get out of here. You're great. Diana.
26:10
Caller
Oh my God. Am I on?
26:12
Adam
You're on. Yes.
26:13
Caller
Oh my God. You guys, I'm shaking. Okay. Like I'm a first time caller, right?
26:18
Drew
Yeah.
26:19
Caller
Oh my God. Okay. I was just kidding. My question is fake, but I just want to say, Adam, I love you and Mark, you're so hot and I want to make a shout out to all my friends.
26:30
Drew
All right.
26:32
Blink 182
I love it when you guys do that.
26:33
Caller
But you know.
26:34
Caller
All right.
26:35
Adam
All right, Diana, that's enough.
26:37
Blink 182
I love it when you hang up on people. I think that's the best radio there is.
26:41
Caller
Really?
26:42
Blink 182
Yeah, I honestly do. I think it's so funny. I love it.
26:44
Adam
I enjoy it too. People tell me not to do it, but I really enjoy it. It really gives me a sense of power. Yeah.
26:52
Yeah.
26:52
Adam
Yeah, you're 15?
26:53
Caller
Well, hey.
26:54
Adam
Hey, see you. Yeah. You see that, Mark?
26:57
Blink 182
What happened?
26:58
Drew
He missed it.
26:59
Blink 182
I'm sorry.
26:59
Drew
Let's try again.
27:00
Blink 182
Do we hang up on another person?
27:01
Adam
Yeah, we're going to.
27:01
Drew
Kerry.
27:01
Blink 182
Oh, I missed it.
27:02
Adam
Kerry.
27:03
Drew
Kerry, go, go.
27:03
Caller
Are you going to hang up on another person?
27:04
Drew
No, no.
27:05
Adam
No, not with that voice.
27:06
Caller
Oh my God. Thank you so much.
27:07
Caller
Okay.
27:08
Caller
First of all, I was wondering, okay, Mark? Yes. Oh my God. I love you.
27:13
Caller
Okay.
27:14
Caller
All right.
27:15
Caller
So I heard that you guys are going to do a music video in Portland, Oregon?
27:20
Blink 182
No.
27:21
Caller
Yeah. It's not weird. Okay. So-
27:23
Drew
Yes, you are.
27:23
Blink 182
Yeah. Maybe we are. I don't know.
27:25
Caller
Really?
27:26
Blink 182
No. We're not. I like Portland, but we can't travel. We can't be traveling an hour and a half up there on an airplane.
27:33
Caller
Oh, yeah. Well, I also was wondering why you guys weren't touring up here for the same reason.
27:38
Blink 182
Are we touring up there? You know what? To be honest with you, people ask me questions like this all the time, and I don't ever know where we're touring or why we're playing a certain venue or why a ticket cost $12 and another place cost 13. And they tell me when I'm going to leave for tour and they tell me when I'm going to come home. And everything in between is just work for me. Not work, but it's fun.
27:56
Caller
That's cool. Okay, one more question.
27:57
Adam
I think they're going to be in Columbus, Ohio.
28:00
Blink 182
Is that close?
28:00
Adam
That's the closest I think you get. Is St. Louis closer than Columbus?
28:05
Caller
No.
28:05
Adam
To Portland?
28:06
Caller
I haven't been to Seattle, but I couldn't go. Okay, I have one more question.
28:10
Caller
Okay.
28:11
Caller
So I heard that that one song, Going Away to College, which reminds me of, oh my god, memories. Anyways, okay. So I heard that it was inspired by the movie Can't Hardly Wait.
28:24
Blink 182
Yes.
28:24
Caller
Really?
28:25
Blink 182
Yeah, kind of. Oh, cool. Yeah. I was actually, I wrote that song halfway through the recording of Enema State, and I was really sick, and it was Valentine's Day, and I was home by myself, very ill, watching TV, and that movie came on, and I started writing a song about a guy that goes away to college, and he misses his girlfriend. So it's kind of like that. It's not about that movie, but it was just what I was thinking about when I wrote it.
28:44
Caller
So that's so cool. Yeah. Okay. You guys are like my inspiration because me and my two friends, we have this little band, and seriously, I love you.
28:52
Adam
What's the name of the band?
28:54
Caller
Well, it's kind of stupid and it's kind of-
28:57
Adam
Give it to us.
28:58
Caller
Okay. Well, okay.
28:59
Caller
It was from this choir trip up in Seattle, but it's called-
29:02
Blink 182
Bandcamp? This one time at bandcamp thing?
29:04
Caller
One time in bandcamp. No, but it's kind of stupid because of this little incident that happened, but yeah, it's stupid. I'm sorry. Okay. It's Three Night Stand.
29:12
Adam
Three Night Stand?
29:13
Caller
Yeah.
29:14
Caller
And I know it's stupid because there's like Three Dog Night and like Three Little Blah. I know everything is-
29:19
Blink 182
Three Little Blah?
29:20
Caller
Yeah.
29:21
Caller
Yeah.
29:21
Adam
I was into them in high school.
29:23
Caller
Yeah, me too.
29:23
Adam
Hi, Carrie.
29:24
Caller
Okay. Thank you so much. Carrie, bye-bye.
29:25
Adam
Good times there, baby. Let's talk to Cat who's 18. Cat?
29:30
Caller
Hi.
29:31
Adam
Hey.
29:32
Caller
I actually have two questions, but I didn't tell the little guy that, so I don't know if that's okay.
29:35
Adam
All right. Go ahead.
29:36
Blink 182
I'm the little guy.
29:38
Caller
Okay. The first one, I haven't had my period in five months, and I went to Planned Parenthood and they gave me the little P test and everything, and I went and got a blood test, and it all said that I'm not pregnant, and nobody knows what it is, and I was wondering if like...
29:52
Drew
Are you on a medication?
29:54
Caller
No.
29:54
Drew
You lost a bunch of weight?
29:56
Caller
No.
29:56
Drew
Do you exercise excessively? No. Did they check your thyroid and other endocrine sort of function? Did they do a physical exam on you?
30:04
Caller
No. She did a culture.
30:06
Drew
Yeah. It sounds like you ought to see a gynecologist and really have a proper exam and figure out what's going on. It may just be the sort of delicate functioning of the pituitary gland and the ovary that just not cycling normally. There's a lot of things that can do that.
30:19
Adam
What would be worse as a doctor? A 18-year-old female who hadn't had a period in five months with no medication or an 18-year-old male who hadn't taken a crap in six and a half days?
30:34
Drew
The male. The male? Worst?
30:35
Adam
Six and a half days?
30:36
Drew
Please.
30:37
Adam
Four days.
30:38
Drew
This male period.
30:39
Adam
Really? Yeah. Okay. Wow. I'm very regular.
30:42
Blink 182
I'm so glad I'm a guy. So glad I'm a guy. I don't have to worry about any of that stuff. I hate that hole zone.
30:47
Drew
Yeah, most men couldn't deal with it.
30:49
Blink 182
And all the, that thing's like a really, really nice car. There's so much maintenance that goes into it.
30:55
Adam
It's a Steinway. It's like an old Ferrari with the six down draft Weber single barrel carbs on there that you have to have a team of scientists just tune and port and jet and synchronize. Meanwhile, we got a cider jug between our legs. There's really nothing. I mean, I've done stuff like I've used my rec penis to launch, you know, balls of socks and bars of soap. You ever do that?
31:23
Blink 182
No, I honestly have never done that. Really?
31:26
Adam
Oh, you got to do that. You get that erection, right? And the erection sticks out, maybe heads up a little bit. And then you take a nice ball of socks and you flex the erection down and you catapult it out in front of you.
31:40
Blink 182
All right, I might try that.
31:41
Adam
It's huge.
31:42
Blink 182
I got to try that on the drive home tonight.
31:43
Adam
Well, now don't do it. Okay. But yeah, and when the Culver City PD pulls you over.
31:49
Blink 182
That's right, then I get a free pass and it's all good.
31:51
Adam
Right. Now work up to the bar soap.
31:53
Blink 182
Okay.
31:54
Adam
Start with the socks.
31:55
Blink 182
Yeah, that's true.
31:56
Adam
As a matter of fact, start with dress socks. They're lighter and they travel further. And then you work your way up to the bar soap. All right, let's talk to Robin, who's 16. Robin?
32:06
Caller
Hey guys, what's up?
32:07
Adam
Hey Robin.
32:08
Caller
What's up? Um, I have a question for Mark.
32:11
Blink 182
Yes.
32:12
Caller
Um, one of my favorite songs that you guys did was Adam's song. And I was just wondering, like, um, like, what was your inspiration for it?
32:22
Blink 182
Adam's song is kind of about two things. It's about, uh, it's about me being lonely on tour and not having anyone special to come home to. And it's also about an article that I read about, uh, a kid who had committed suicide and left a note for his family. And it was kind of, uh, written in that style. But it's a song about finding strength to pull through and finding strength in your friends and finding strength in yourself to realize that, uh, bad times do eventually get better and it's always better than the option of suicide. So that's what Adam's song is about.
32:48
Caller
Yeah, because that was a really good song.
32:50
Blink 182
Thank you.
32:51
Caller
And I have a question for Dr. Drew. Um, I was wondering, like, how long after, um, you smoked pot, like, the THC, like, stays in your, like, urine? Like...
33:02
Drew
In your urine?
33:02
Blink 182
No, in your urine.
33:04
Drew
A single episode, just smoking one time? Uh, probably out within a day.
33:09
Caller
Oh, really?
33:10
Drew
But if you're smoking every day, it can be in for weeks.
33:13
Blink 182
Hey, what about, like, when people around you are smoking pot? Will you...
33:16
Caller
Will you...
33:16
Drew
No.
33:17
Blink 182
You'll never show...
33:17
Drew
Every marijuana addict I've treated has tried that one at one time, rather.
33:20
Blink 182
No, I'm just asking for...
33:21
Drew
I was locked in a car with guys with a bonfire.
33:24
Blink 182
So you'll never test positive for marijuana unless you actually smoke it yourself?
33:29
Drew
That's... Practically, that's the case. A poppy muffin.
33:31
Adam
Do you urinate out the THC?
33:33
Drew
Yes.
33:33
Adam
Could you pee in a bong and get a little extra recycled high?
33:37
Drew
Oh, interesting idea.
33:38
Adam
Interesting.
33:39
Drew
Good times.
33:40
Blink 182
That's bad though. If you're like...
33:42
Drew
No, here you go. Just pee into a Petri dish, dry it out with crystals. Right.
33:45
Adam
Put it out in the sun and take the crystals and put it in with the resins and the bong.
33:49
Drew
Crush it into a powder.
33:50
Blink 182
Isn't that one of the signs of a drug problem if you use your own waste to try and increase your high?
33:55
Drew
If you try to smoke your own waste.
33:56
Blink 182
Right. Yeah.
33:57
Adam
Yeah. You see what I do when I eat mushrooms. That's a whole other process. A whole another recycling process goes on. Hi, Robin. Are you going for a job?
34:06
Caller
Yeah.
34:07
Adam
Where are you going for?
34:09
Caller
I don't know, like Bel Air.
34:10
Blink 182
Bel Air?
34:11
Caller
Yeah.
34:12
Adam
What do you mean?
34:12
Drew
You're in Sacramento.
34:13
Caller
Yeah.
34:14
Adam
What are you talking about?
34:15
Caller
It's a grocery store.
34:16
Blink 182
Okay.
34:17
Adam
All right.
34:18
Blink 182
Why would they care in a grocery store if you smoke pot? I mean, it's not like you're operating machinery probably.
34:22
Drew
Yeah, but they have a, you know.
34:25
Adam
Well, listen, they don't want a bunch of stoners picking away at the hard candy all day.
34:29
Drew
They're also sort of taking on a liability because it responds for the health of the people they take on as employees.
34:33
Blink 182
Right. Okay. I just thought maybe they're worried that they're going to misshelf something or-
34:38
Adam
Now, you know what it is? I was talking about this with Drew the other night. I don't think the market cares that much. I think their insurance company cares a lot, and the market cares about their insurance company. Drew, you punched a mic. What time is it? It's 1038. That's a little late for you. Usually, you punch it in the first hour, first break. Yeah. But I think it's all insurance. So that's why I wonder if the people that carry out the test even care that much. They must farm it out to the lab. They don't do it in the produce section.
35:07
Caller
Yeah.
35:07
Drew
They just have people that do that.
35:08
Adam
Okay. Drew, you got another call you like there? No?
35:11
You want to go to break?
35:12
Drew
Fine.
35:13
Adam
Let's just say hi to somebody. Brittany?
35:16
Yeah.
35:17
Adam
You're 15?
35:18
Caller
Yeah.
35:18
Adam
What's up? Hi Adam.
35:19
Caller
Hi Drew.
35:20
Caller
Okay.
35:20
Caller
Hi Mark.
35:22
Caller
Yeah.
35:22
Caller
I know. Hi Mark.
35:23
Blink 182
Oh yeah. Oh yeah. And hi Mark.
35:25
Caller
Sorry. I have a question. But first off, I want to say hi to Mark.
35:29
You guys are so awesome.
35:30
Caller
I love you guys so much.
35:31
Blink 182
Thank you.
35:32
Caller
And Travis is my sex monkey. And I only have hot monkey sex with him in Jell-O.
35:38
Drew
In Jell-O. 15.
35:39
Blink 182
Okay.
35:40
Drew
Nice.
35:40
Caller
And I want your pink face. It kicks ass.
35:43
Blink 182
Thank you.
35:44
Caller
And I saw you guys on concert on May 11th at the Play-Dome. You guys rocked. Oh my God. You guys kicked ass.
35:51
Blink 182
Cool. Thank you.
35:52
Caller
Okay. And then, okay. I have an 18 year old boyfriend and I want to know how to tell my parents that I'm dating him.
36:01
Blink 182
You should probably just break up with him. How old are you? 15?
36:03
Caller
Yeah.
36:04
Blink 182
And he's 18?
36:04
Caller
Yeah.
36:05
Blink 182
Why don't you date like a 16 year old?
36:07
Adam
Are you having sex with him?
36:09
Drew
I'm so sure Mark. I thought you were cool.
36:11
Adam
He was.
36:12
Blink 182
No. I only say that because there's no possible way when I was 15, I could date an 18 year old girl. So I don't want anyone else to have more fun.
36:18
Drew
There's also no possible way your parents are going to go for this. No way. No way. It's not good for you.
36:22
Blink 182
Did she say that they were having sex?
36:24
Caller
No.
36:25
Adam
How long have you been with him?
36:27
Caller
For like almost a year.
36:29
Adam
Really? And no sex?
36:31
Caller
No, because he knows that I'm not ready.
36:34
Adam
I may like this guy. He may be in a state of retarded growth. That may be okay. What's he into? Does he go to college?
36:46
Caller
Yeah, he goes to Long Beach State.
36:48
Drew
Any weird food issues with him? He sounds like one of the yummy guys.
36:53
Blink 182
What's a yummy guy?
36:54
Adam
It's the guys who get caught in the yummy phase. They don't like cigars. They don't like beer. They don't like going down on chicks. Anything that tastes bad, they're not into. They want to sit around and eat jujubees and drink Pepsi all day. Brittany? Yeah. All right. I'm sort of all right with this guy. I mean, he goes to college. It's not a junior college. He's never had sex with you. What base have you gotten to with him?
37:19
Caller
Just oral.
37:20
Adam
No. Well, that'll take a little of the star shot of his sale.
37:23
Blink 182
Come on, man. You're 15.
37:25
Adam
Really? And that kind of slows him down, right? I mean-
37:30
Drew
It keeps him happy.
37:31
Adam
Right.
37:31
Caller
Yeah, correct.
37:32
Adam
I see. Now I'm starting to change a little on this guy. But you're serious, right?
37:39
Caller
Yeah.
37:40
Drew
Whatever that means at 15.
37:41
Adam
Well, she's been with him for a year. All right. How about trying it with your parents? Leave the oral part out.
37:48
Blink 182
Seriously, Mom, I've only gone down on him. We haven't gone all the way.
37:52
Caller
Right.
37:54
Drew
Could she start out with, Mom, I thought I was a lesbian until I met this guy.
37:58
Caller
Right.
37:59
Adam
Interesting.
37:59
Drew
There's some real bad news.
38:00
Blink 182
Something that might soften the blow.
38:03
Adam
Right. I was dead set on a life of lesbianism until I met Stu, the guy below. Stu, this is my mom, dad. That's Stu's sack. You guys should meet. All right. We're going to take ourselves a little break. Mark is here from Blink 182. We're going to hear something off the new CD.
38:24
Blink 182
This will be the first time it will ever be heard ever.
38:26
Adam
Is this the big? This is not the big premiere song.
38:30
Blink 182
No, this isn't our single, but this is the first time this next song will ever be on the radio.
38:33
Drew
No, this is the world premiere.
38:34
Blink 182
Yeah.
38:34
Adam
So do we have two of those or one of them?
38:36
Blink 182
You have the first single and then you have the world premiere of a different song.
38:38
Adam
Beautiful.
38:39
Drew
World, world premieres after this.
38:42
Caller
1-800-LOVE-191.
39:16
Adam
Yep, Loveline, phone number 1-800-LOVE-191. I'm Adam, that's Drew. Mark is here from Blink 182. We're going to hear something off the new CD, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, which is coming out June 12th, and then a big fat summer tour to follow that. You queued up there, Anderson? This one is called The Rock Show. Another hit from that hit factory known as Blink 182. The CD is coming out. That is Take Off Your Pants and Jacket. That's coming out June 12th. We got Mark here from the band.
42:29
Dude, you beat off.
42:31
Adam
Let's hop back on the phone.
42:33
Blink 182
That guy is so random with those little soundbite clips.
42:36
Adam
Yes. He's a talent. He should start getting paid.
42:39
Caller
He really should.
42:40
Blink 182
Vince?
42:41
Caller
Yeah.
42:42
Adam
You're 16.
42:42
Caller
Yeah. I just want to say to Adam, you know, I hate those people that don't know about the man show.
42:48
Caller
Yeah.
42:48
Drew
Imagine that. How dare you?
42:50
Caller
That's right.
42:51
Drew
I beg your pardon.
42:52
Adam
The uninitiated.
42:54
Caller
Love you guys.
42:55
Drew
Thanks, man.
42:56
Caller
Since Buddha, Treshard, Kat got all that stuff. Awesome. Dr. Drew, I have a question. Well, when I used to masturbate quite often, like-
43:04
Drew
You used to.
43:05
Caller
Yeah. Yeah.
43:06
Drew
So you don't anymore.
43:07
Blink 182
In front of mine, they used to masturbate a lot.
43:09
Caller
My penis would actually start chafing.
43:12
Drew
Sure. Believe it or not, that is not an indestructible instrument. Though you may test the limits, you can be destroyed.
43:17
Adam
Yeah, like with the sock launch.
43:19
Caller
Oh, and I have one more question.
43:21
Adam
Well, wait a minute.
43:21
Drew
How many times- Well, if you tried an Invo launch, you'd be in trouble.
43:24
Adam
How many times were you doing it?
43:25
Caller
Oh, I don't know. Numerous times a day.
43:27
Adam
I see. And you're not doing it anymore?
43:29
Caller
No, I'm grown out of that.
43:33
Blink 182
How old is this guy? 16? You have a long way to go, my friend.
43:36
Adam
I was just hitting my stride at 16.
43:39
Caller
You got girlfriends these days, you know?
43:40
Adam
No, no. Listen, sex is good, but it is not the real thing.
43:45
Caller
All right.
43:45
Caller
I got another question for Dr. Drew.
43:46
Adam
What?
43:47
Caller
I got another question.
43:48
Adam
Listen, I don't like a 16-year-old kid who doesn't beat off. I really don't.
43:51
Blink 182
I don't trust you, sir.
43:52
Caller
Yeah. My other question is, when I get an erection, the world has changed, hasn't it? I can push down on it, and it will crack.
43:58
Drew
Oh, yeah.
43:59
Caller
Yeah. Yeah.
43:59
Drew
Yeah. I've done that.
44:00
Caller
I've done that. All right.
44:01
Drew
There's a tendon there, or actually a ligament that...
44:04
Caller
You know, you guys are great. I just want to say, you know, Loveline.
44:06
Adam
Thanks. Do that. Do you have a girlfriend? Yeah. Do that for your girlfriend.
44:09
Drew
It will freak her out. She'll be very impressed.
44:12
Adam
It really...
44:13
Drew
Oh my God, you broke it. Oh my God.
44:14
Adam
Yeah, it really freaks them out. I guess if they crack their vagina, I'd be upset too.
44:20
Blink 182
How come everybody growing up has to do a penis endurance test on themselves? Some kind of like wind tunnel test and can I bend it this way? Why is that?
44:29
Adam
I don't know. You have to test the limits of it though, right? Yeah, I hooked mine up to a treadmill when I was 16.
44:39
Blink 182
You put the little diodes on it and see how fast the heart rate is and breathing?
44:43
Adam
That's right. Yeah, I played the theme from the $6 million man at the beginning. Armando?
44:50
Caller
Yeah.
44:51
Adam
You're 17?
44:52
Caller
Yeah.
44:52
Adam
What's up?
44:53
Caller
I want to ask Mark a couple of questions.
44:55
Caller
All right.
44:56
Caller
Hey, what's up, Mark?
44:57
Blink 182
What's up?
44:59
Caller
I know you and Tom have your girlfriends, whatever, right?
45:02
Blink 182
Yeah.
45:02
Caller
But like, do you guys have a thing for each other? You know, you guys are like pretty gay.
45:06
Drew
Yeah, everyone knows that.
45:07
Blink 182
Me and Tom?
45:08
Caller
Yeah.
45:09
Blink 182
We love, love men. No.
45:12
Drew
They're in love with being in love with each other.
45:14
Blink 182
Yes.
45:14
Adam
They're in love with the idea of being in love. That's what I am.
45:17
Blink 182
Yeah. Why? Does he ask about me?
45:20
Drew
Yeah.
45:20
Blink 182
Does Tom ask about me?
45:22
Caller
Yeah, I think you guys are hot too.
45:24
Blink 182
Does he say he likes me?
45:25
Drew
Yeah.
45:25
Blink 182
All right, cool. Well.
45:26
Caller
He likes your butt.
45:28
Adam
All right, Armando.
45:29
Caller
No, I had another question.
45:30
Adam
No, you don't get another question with those butt comments.
45:33
Caller
How dare you?
45:34
Adam
We have an avid celebrity in here.
45:37
Drew
I beg your pardon.
45:38
Adam
That's right. And you start off with the butt jokes.
45:40
Blink 182
OK, there was a guy when I was growing up named Armando, and he was really mean to me.
45:44
Adam
Oh, really?
45:44
Blink 182
Yeah. And the tradition continues.
45:46
Drew
This guy's Armando, too. He's 17.
45:48
Adam
Yeah, he's probably his kid. We got to go to break. Chris?
45:53
Caller
Yeah? Yeah.
45:54
Adam
You got a question?
45:56
Caller
I want to say hi to Mark.
45:57
Blink 182
Hey, Chris.
45:58
Caller
I was at the performance round at the Palladiums and you guys rocked.
46:02
Blink 182
Well, thank you.
46:04
Adam
Hey, Chris.
46:04
Caller
Me and my friends are starting a band. It's called The Real Men of the Mind. And we kind of want to go with the same kind of music you guys have, the punk. But do you have any advice on how to make the music and just make it really good?
46:17
Adam
Yes, he does. But we have to take a break. So we'll give it to you when we come back.
46:21
Caller
For real?
46:22
Adam
Well, I don't know. I just said he does. He may not have it.
46:24
Blink 182
I have a lot of advice. But you're going to have to wait.
46:26
Adam
Hang on, Chris. Alright. Mark is here from Blink 182. We'll take a little break. We'll be right back with the world premiere after this.
46:35
Caller
Loveline, we'll be right back. Call on the 1-800-LOVE-191.
47:18
Adam
Yep, Loveline. I'm Adam, that's Drew. Mark from Blink 182 is here.
47:23
Caller
Hi.
47:24
Adam
Jerry's gonna be in here from Survivor tomorrow night. And wasn't she the bitchy one? No. Yeah. You know, I got this bad habit of talking about people the night before they come on the show, when it's time to come on the show. But I wanna say this. When you go on an island or a confined piece of land with, you know, 12, 16, 18 strangers, and at the end of the gig, all they can do is agree on one thing, which is that one person was a bitch or an a-hole. That's a pretty fair and accurate assessment of how you are.
48:02
Drew
Well, at least you'll be here to defend yourself. It'll be interesting to see if you react to her that way.
48:06
Adam
I'm talking, the last survivor, I'm talking about the guy who was the chef with the beard.
48:11
Drew
Yeah, that's the same. Nobody liked him either.
48:13
Adam
Everybody universally decided he was not to be trusted.
48:17
Drew
Those were the two they didn't like.
48:18
Blink 182
Can't they vote people off the island, though? If she's the bitchy one, why didn't they vote her off the island?
48:22
Drew
They did. Very quickly.
48:23
Adam
Oh, they did? They got her early?
48:25
Drew
Yeah.
48:26
Adam
I thought she was around for a little while.
48:28
Drew
She was a strong player, so they used her to win contests.
48:31
Adam
But the chef guy that everyone decided they hated was there to the very end.
48:36
Drew
Again, he had alliances. We had to ask her how that all worked.
48:39
Adam
All right. Should I work in the part where everyone thought she was a bitch?
48:42
Drew
No, I'd say wait to see if you, I know you judge people the moment they walk through the door.
48:47
Adam
That's right.
48:47
Drew
So let her know exactly how you feel about it right away.
48:50
Adam
I judge people based on skin color, Drew. You know the personality doesn't factor in. How dare you?
48:58
Drew
Unacceptable.
48:59
Adam
All right. Let's just finish up with Chris over here who had a question for Mark. Chris?
49:06
Caller
Yeah.
49:07
Adam
You're starting a band.
49:08
Caller
Yeah.
49:09
Adam
And you want to know what to do?
49:11
Caller
Well, just some advice, any advice you can give us to make it like you guys did. So I'll get a little bit popular.
49:20
Blink 182
Well, I mean, I don't know about trying to give you advice on how to get popular. I mean, just play music that you love in your heart and play music that you believe in and that's all that you can really do and hope that, you know, if you're honest with what you do and you play music that you love and that's going to rub off on other people and that's the best you can hope for. I mean, you can't start a band and go, we're going to be popular. I mean, start a band and play music you love.
49:41
Adam
Well, I think historically, if you look at anybody who did anything, whether it was design a car or build a dam or be in a band, they all just did it sort of organically because that's what they were meant to do. That's what they wanted to do. They didn't decide who wanted to buy it, who wanted to see it, who wanted to listen to it in advance.
49:58
Drew
Did you work real hard at it, though, for a while?
50:00
Blink 182
Yeah, totally. I mean, we slept on people's floors and slept in a van.
50:03
Drew
That's the ingredient that I think people, that's intangible.
50:07
Blink 182
Yeah.
50:07
Drew
That, A, for a second, instinct to follow that what you're doing has quality. Not just you love it, but you think it's good.
50:13
Blink 182
Right.
50:14
Drew
And then having that passion to just sleep on floors, do whatever, just to get...
50:18
Blink 182
But we would, I mean, we'd still be sleeping on floors now and still having the best time. We just got lucky.
50:22
Drew
But that's the point. That's the intangible a lot of people don't really have. They just want to be popular or successful, right? They don't...
50:29
Adam
Yeah. And the whole... Here's the key. You have to... If you ask the question, you may not be successful. You should just do it. Everybody just did it and was doing it and would be doing it anyway. And if you guys weren't on the show and no one heard of you, you'd still be playing, still be doing it. And it's what you were doing for the years before you came on the show. All right. Let's talk to Melissa, who's 19.
50:56
Caller
Hey.
50:56
Adam
Hey.
50:57
Caller
What's going on?
50:58
Blink 182
Someone's bringing Drew coffee.
51:00
Caller
First, I want to say what's up to Mark Hoppus. What's going on?
51:05
Drew
Oh. Does that mean something to you, Mark?
51:08
Blink 182
No. Uh-uh.
51:08
Caller
What?
51:10
Drew
No.
51:10
Blink 182
Go ahead.
51:10
Caller
Okay. Well, my question is more for Dr. Drew. Okay. When I was 15, I'm 19 now, I had a breast reduction. Yeah. And I wanted to get another one.
51:22
Adam
Wow.
51:23
Caller
Um, because they're out of control and so-
51:25
Adam
Adam. Are you going to do the other breast or have both of them?
51:29
Caller
Both of them.
51:30
Adam
I see.
51:30
Caller
Yeah. Um, so I was just wondering if it's, um, it's safe or not.
51:34
Adam
15, huh?
51:35
Drew
What was going on at 15? You must have had to do some, uh-
51:37
Caller
Well, because I'm like tiny and like, I don't know what's going on because like, or what went on because like one day I just woke up and they were like, oh, they were like huge.
51:45
Drew
You just woke up with that?
51:47
Caller
Where to God? Like they were just out of control.
51:49
Caller
Bonesy bonesy.
51:50
Adam
Yeah. I had the same thing with my penis. I had a very small penis my whole life. Then one morning I woke up, I had a medium small penis and that was it.
51:59
Drew
Yeah.
51:59
Adam
But yeah.
52:01
Drew
So did you have trouble talking a surgeon into doing the reduction? What's up? Did you have difficulty getting convincing a surgeon to do it?
52:07
Caller
He wasn't going to do it. He was like, you should wait. But I was like, no, it's like, it was horrible. They were like an E and I'm like tiny. And I just I was playing sports at the time.
52:15
Adam
And you're hold on, slow down. Were you sweating? You're listening in the sun, right?
52:22
Blink 182
What were you wearing when all this happened?
52:24
Caller
Good God, what?
52:25
Blink 182
What were you wearing when all this happened?
52:27
Adam
A little softball uniform. So wait a minute. You're a petite girl.
52:31
Caller
Yes.
52:31
Adam
Oh, I love the jugs. I really do.
52:35
Caller
No, no, no. But these were like one of those women in the jungle running naked, you know? Like they were just huge.
52:42
Adam
Yeah. Yeah. Better.
52:44
Caller
They weren't attractive. But anyway.
52:46
Drew
So when you had them reduced, you were happy?
52:47
Caller
No, I wasn't happy. That's the thing. I told him to get them as small as possible, to be like a full B because I thought that was cute. But he got them down to like a D and I'm still not happy. So I want to go to a different doctor.
53:01
Drew
So it's not like they've regrown.
53:03
Caller
No, no, no. They haven't really regrown at all.
53:05
Adam
They just got them down to a D. Well, they can't step them down too much, right?
53:10
Caller
Right.
53:11
Adam
And what's wrong with being a petite gal with a D on you?
53:15
Caller
It's just not comfortable. I don't think it's attractive, really.
53:19
Blink 182
Well, you're wrong. You're dead wrong.
53:21
Adam
Yeah, you are so wrong. Who told you they're not attractive, your catty girlfriend?
53:26
Caller
Well, I don't know. I just, I don't know.
53:28
Drew
Or your dad.
53:30
Caller
No, not my dad.
53:31
Blink 182
I think you look great and I wouldn't change a thing.
53:33
Adam
Do you have a boyfriend?
53:34
Caller
No, I don't.
53:35
Adam
And why not?
53:37
Caller
Um, I guess I'm picky.
53:39
Adam
Oh, boy.
53:40
Caller
But.
53:40
Drew
And have you ever had a boyfriend?
53:42
Caller
Yes, I have.
53:42
Caller
All right. Yeah.
53:43
Drew
What happened with that?
53:44
Caller
Um, he turned out to be a pathological liar.
53:47
Drew
Oh, interesting.
53:48
Caller
Yeah, but that, it was okay.
53:49
Adam
Was he into the big brass or not?
53:51
Caller
I think he was. I think he was.
53:53
Caller
You see, that's a thing, though.
53:54
Caller
Bad, bad. I don't want boys to like me because of that.
53:57
Drew
Yeah, we understand that. But it's, you know.
53:59
Adam
Now listen, at 19, they're gonna like you for something other than what you want them to like you for. As a matter of fact, at 29 and at 59, they always like you for something else.
54:11
Drew
At least they start. They start with that.
54:13
Adam
At least this gets them out on the first date. Yeah. Yeah. As a breast man, I take some amount of offense to everyone turning every guy who's into breast as some sort of a drooling adolescent slimeball. I mean, let's face it, a woman's ass, a woman's eyes, a woman's mouth, any beautiful woman, it's all physical when you're 19. I mean, at least that's what gets the guy in the door. Yeah. Oftentimes, it gets the woman in the door for the guy.
54:41
Drew
Yeah.
54:42
Adam
Right? So why is the breast so much different?
54:44
Drew
Because it suggests a certain kind of attachment to the woman. You know what I mean? It's an uncomfortable fantasy acting out quality to it. You know what I'm saying? Does that make sense at all? Yeah. I guess that women probably kind of feel like, you know.
54:58
Adam
Yeah, but I mean.
55:00
Drew
It's fine. It's nothing wrong with it.
55:02
Adam
What's the difference really if a woman has piercing blue eyes and beautiful blonde hair?
55:08
Drew
Let's see if this is more accurate of describing it. People tend to incorporate that more into the person.
55:13
Adam
Where the breasts aren't really attached to them. I wish you could separate them.
55:18
Drew
See what I'm saying?
55:19
Adam
Take those things right home.
55:20
Drew
OK. See what I'm saying?
55:22
Adam
Hey, I got your breasts. Get lost. Go wait in the car.
55:25
Drew
Right?
55:26
Adam
Well, all right. You may be right.
55:29
Drew
And there's nothing wrong with it, but I think people sense that.
55:31
Adam
Before you leave, I need the vagina. Vagina and.
55:34
Drew
Quick. Vagina quick in here.
55:36
Adam
Lower jaw. OK. So what is it? One breath. No, I don't need them both. Just give me the one. Give me the whatever you want. Surprise me. Vagina and lower jaw. Give me the whole mouth and one nostril. And I'll go wait in the Al Camino. I'll be there in five. And don't worry. Don't worry. I'll wipe everything down before you get it back. What name is this, Drew?
55:59
Drew
Anissa? Anisio? Anisio.
56:02
Adam
You're 15.
56:02
Caller
What's up?
56:04
Caller
Okay.
56:05
Caller
I've been with my boyfriend for like a year now.
56:07
Caller
And like we recently just had sex for the first time. And I was like waiting for him to do what my first time was. And I was just like really disappointing.
56:16
Drew
Why?
56:17
Caller
Huh?
56:18
Drew
Why?
56:18
Caller
Because seriously I think it was too small.
56:21
Caller
Because like I didn't feel anything.
56:24
Drew
Yeah. No, that's just the usual kind of disappointment that women often feel that first time out.
56:29
Blink 182
Especially with me.
56:30
Adam
Yeah, that's bad. Yeah, they build it up.
56:34
Caller
Okay, I have another question.
56:35
Adam
Well, wait a minute. Is he small?
56:38
Caller
Is he short?
56:40
Adam
No. Remember we were talking about his penis a few minutes ago?
56:43
Blink 182
Remember from before we were talking about his penis?
56:45
Adam
And remember how small it was? Is it small?
56:47
Caller
Well, yeah.
56:48
Adam
You saw it?
56:51
Caller
But I mean what do we do?
56:52
Caller
Like is there anything else to accommodate for size?
56:55
Drew
Yeah, the mouth.
56:56
Adam
Yeah. They can do a little oral sex.
56:58
Caller
Yeah.
56:59
Adam
Did he do that?
56:59
Caller
That was cool.
57:00
Adam
That was good?
57:01
Caller
Yeah.
57:01
Adam
You enjoyed that? All right. And how small is his penis? Do you know?
57:05
Caller
Probably like three inches.
57:07
Adam
Oh, really?
57:08
Caller
Oh, I don't know. It was pretty small.
57:10
Adam
You didn't say anything to him, did you? No.
57:12
Drew
You didn't laugh?
57:13
Caller
Like he's mean.
57:14
Adam
Yeah, good. Make sure you don't.
57:16
Caller
Okay.
57:17
Adam
Because that'll ruin a young man. How old is he?
57:19
Caller
He's 15.
57:21
Adam
So you had the sex how long ago?
57:24
Caller
Like one Valentine's Day.
57:26
Adam
I see. And if you had sex since?
57:28
Caller
Yeah.
57:29
Caller
We did it like three times since then.
57:31
Drew
Did that feel better?
57:32
Caller
Huh?
57:33
Drew
Was that better?
57:33
Caller
No.
57:35
Drew
What are you using for birth control?
57:37
Caller
Oh, we just use a condom.
57:39
Drew
Okay.
57:39
Adam
All right. Did it stay on him okay?
57:41
Caller
Yeah. There was like no point of it.
57:44
Drew
Because you didn't feel anything.
57:45
Adam
Oh, this poor guy. I hope he doesn't have a radio or a pistol. It's a bad combination. Putting in his mouth right now. Now, how was the oral sex? Did he do well?
57:57
Caller
I was telling him exactly where to go and stuff.
58:00
Caller
It was pretty cool. Okay. There you go.
58:02
Adam
Wow. You're a pretty tall order. Yeah. I mean, you're a handful for a 15-year-old guy. Thanks. He doesn't have his sex in legs under him yet at 15. You're telling him like, no, no, no, no, no, closer to Mecca. Good. Stay there. Don't talk. Stop breathing through your nose. Hey, your ass is blocking the set. I can't see Buffy.
58:25
Blink 182
Okay.
58:25
Adam
So did you have an orgasm?
58:27
Caller
Did I?
58:28
Adam
No.
58:29
Blink 182
Can girls have orgasms at 15?
58:31
Drew
It's a great question because many can, some can't. During intercourse, be rare. Be rare during intercourse.
58:38
Adam
You realize she talks like a slide whistle. She goes, did I?
58:42
Drew
Yeah.
58:43
Adam
She goes up the hill and coasts down the other side conversationally. Okay. So Mark, what were you going to say?
58:50
Blink 182
I'm sorry. Oh, I was going to say, because I was under the impression that women can't have orgasms until they're at least 40.
58:55
Drew
There's something to that.
58:55
Blink 182
Is that true, right?
58:56
Adam
It's been my experience because I've not been with a woman over 39. Mark, dude.
59:00
Blink 182
What?
59:01
Caller
What's up with your drummer, Travis?
59:03
Blink 182
What's up with him?
59:04
Caller
He's so hot.
59:05
Caller
I love him to death.
59:06
Blink 182
Really? He was asking about you before.
59:08
Caller
Are you serious?
59:09
Adam
I swear.
59:10
Caller
I'm not up.
59:11
Blink 182
No, seriously.
59:12
Caller
No, seriously.
59:13
Caller
I love him so much.
59:14
Adam
Yeah, he's like, who's that ball busting 15-year-old that would tear me a new a-hole sexually? Yeah, it really made me feel bad about myself before I go out on the road.
59:24
Blink 182
That sucks because you know that she's talked with her friends and definitely when you're 15, everything that happens in your life gets back to everybody else.
59:30
Adam
So, and you know, it's like this guy's talking to his buddies like, yeah, I gave it to her good and one guy chomps in. It's not what I heard.
59:38
Blink 182
Yeah.
59:38
Adam
He's like, what dude? And then he lays a real specific piece of information out there. And it's something that he knows that there has to be some inside stuff. And, but see, we always talk about these 15-year-old girls and how they shouldn't be with these 18, 19-year-old guys.
59:55
Blink 182
Right.
59:55
Adam
But now with the 15-year-old.
59:57
Drew
Yeah, but you know what I mean? She shouldn't be having sex.
1:00:00
Adam
Is that what it is? All right. No more sex, you 15-year-olds. Ashley?
1:00:05
Caller
Yeah.
1:00:06
Adam
You're 12?
1:00:07
Caller
Yeah.
1:00:07
Adam
No more sex.
1:00:08
Caller
Okay.
1:00:09
Adam
All right. What's up?
1:00:10
Caller
Okay. My question is for Mark. Okay. Okay. On the 11th, I went to the concert at the Palladium.
1:00:16
Blink 182
Sure.
1:00:17
Caller
And me and my friend Susie, we took this big blue bunny and we had like a letter inside this envelope and we gave it to one of the security guards and he put it up on the stage before Blink 182 went up. And I wanted to know, did you ever get it?
1:00:33
Blink 182
Yeah. I got it. Yeah. That was cool.
1:00:36
Adam
It was blue, right?
1:00:37
Blink 182
It was a blue like rabbit thing. Right?
1:00:41
Caller
Yeah.
1:00:41
Blink 182
Yeah. I got that.
1:00:42
Caller
And then my other question was-
1:00:43
Adam
Hold on. What did the note say, Mark?
1:00:46
Blink 182
It said, it's private stuff, dude.
1:00:48
Caller
I'm not going to talk about it in the air.
1:00:50
Caller
Mark, you rock. Yeah.
1:00:52
Adam
He got it. He read the note. And he probably keeps it in the tour bus.
1:00:57
Caller
That's cool.
1:00:58
Adam
That is. What were you doing going to the concert at 12? Were your parents there?
1:01:02
Caller
My mom took me.
1:01:03
Drew
No.
1:01:03
Blink 182
What did she say afterwards?
1:01:05
Caller
What do you mean what she say?
1:01:06
Drew
About the performance.
1:01:07
Blink 182
About the performance. Does she say anything about, you know?
1:01:10
Caller
She likes Blink 182.
1:01:11
Drew
Really? How old is your mom?
1:01:12
Caller
Yeah.
1:01:12
Drew
How old is your mom?
1:01:13
Caller
I don't know, like 30 something.
1:01:16
Caller
Yeah, you know.
1:01:18
Blink 182
That's cool.
1:01:19
Adam
Well, you know what's weird? I was just thinking about, there's that little window when you know how old your parents are. Like growing up, you don't know how old they are. My dad's old, old. I mean, he's like, I don't know, 30. You know, you do that, right? And then there's that little window when you're like, I don't know, maybe 15 to 25, where you actually know your parents' age. And then you get older and you move out and you lose a little bit of touch. And now it's like, dad's, he's old. He's older than 30. I know that. Well, I'm doing the math. I'm older than 30. So he's got to be 36. So he's got to be, you figure 10 years easy. 46, 48? I don't know. But he's old. And then you don't want to know. And then later on you find out how old they are again when they start getting sick. Oh, she's 85 and she's a trooper. I'll tell you that she's a tough, tough woman. All right, we want to go to some more calls here. Victoria, you're 15.
1:02:13
Caller
Yeah. Hi.
1:02:14
Adam
What's up?
1:02:15
Caller
Hi. I just want to say hi, Mark. I love you.
1:02:18
Blink 182
Hello.
1:02:18
Caller
Yeah. I don't know if you remember me, but I was the chick who won the tickets when you guys were world premiere. And you're single with Striker.
1:02:26
Adam
Oh, okay.
1:02:26
Blink 182
Yeah.
1:02:27
Adam
With the stuffed bunny?
1:02:29
Caller
No.
1:02:29
Adam
No, I do remember. No, I'm not a chick. Okay.
1:02:31
Caller
No. Yeah, that was me.
1:02:32
Caller
I won him and I answered your trivia question, Mark.
1:02:35
Blink 182
Oh, okay.
1:02:36
Caller
Yeah. And I was at your guys' show.
1:02:37
Blink 182
Okay.
1:02:37
Caller
And I was just wondering what was your favorite song that you guys like ever wrote?
1:02:44
Blink 182
I think the favorite song that I've ever written was a song called Don't Leave Me off of Any Mother State. I don't know. I think it's a cool song and I'm not exactly sure what it's about. They're just lyrics that sounded cool to me. But I just think it's a cool song.
1:02:56
Adam
Cool. Thanks, Victoria.
1:02:58
Caller
Wait, wait.
1:02:59
Adam
No, that's it. No, we're done with you.
1:03:01
Caller
All right. Bye, Mark.
1:03:02
Adam
Yeah.
1:03:05
Caller
Quite get the hang up on it.
1:03:06
Blink 182
The hang up is the best.
1:03:07
Adam
All right. I'm going to work some of that in. Let's see.
1:03:12
Caller
Hi.
1:03:13
Adam
22.
1:03:13
Caller
How are you?
1:03:14
Adam
What's up?
1:03:15
Caller
Is Mark on the line?
1:03:17
Blink 182
I sure am, Tina.
1:03:18
Caller
Hi.
1:03:18
Caller
How are you?
1:03:18
Blink 182
Hi. How are you doing?
1:03:20
Caller
Oh my gosh. What are you wearing?
1:03:21
Caller
Me?
1:03:22
Blink 182
Yes.
1:03:22
Caller
I'm wearing a black bad religion t-shirt.
1:03:24
Caller
Oh, cool.
1:03:25
Caller
Yeah.
1:03:25
Caller
How are you?
1:03:26
Blink 182
I'm very good.
1:03:27
Caller
I'm in love with you to start out with, but you're married, so that's besides the fact. And me, I'm getting married in May, so that's besides the fact too.
1:03:34
Adam
You got a question?
1:03:37
Caller
Actually, I just wanted to say hi to Mark.
1:03:38
Drew
Okay.
1:03:40
Blink 182
Do the thing with the button.
1:03:41
Adam
Oh, wait a minute. It works better this way. Hey, Tina.
1:03:44
Caller
Yeah.
1:03:45
Adam
What? Where are you going on your honeymoon?
1:03:49
Caller
Me?
1:03:49
Adam
Yeah.
1:03:50
Caller
I'm going to England.
1:03:51
Adam
Oh, wait. I didn't hang up before she said England. Hold on a second. Tina. Yeah. What? Let's see. What are your plans? I mean, tell me about your marriage plans.
1:04:01
Caller
I don't have any.
1:04:02
Drew
The wedding, the wedding plans.
1:04:03
Adam
Yeah, the wedding, the wedding.
1:04:04
Caller
Plans?
1:04:05
Adam
Oh, boy. This is not what I have.
1:04:07
Drew
Are you going to wear a white dress?
1:04:09
Adam
Huh?
1:04:09
Drew
Are you going to wear a white dress?
1:04:10
Adam
Yes.
1:04:10
Caller
Oh, that's no good.
1:04:12
Adam
That's no good. Tina.
1:04:14
Drew
We'll call your bridesmaids.
1:04:14
Adam
Tina, yes. Give me your fiance's full name, including middle name.
1:04:20
Caller
I can't do that. Do you know why? Why? Because he's going to meet Mark at the...
1:04:25
Caller
There you go.
1:04:26
Adam
Yeah, that's good because she said at the... Right. Yeah. Mark, thanks for the cue.
1:04:31
Caller
I was wondering why you didn't want to end. All right.
1:04:34
Adam
Angie?
1:04:34
Caller
Hi. How are you guys doing?
1:04:36
Adam
Good. What's up?
1:04:37
Caller
I'm glad you're back, Andrew. It's good to hear you again.
1:04:40
Adam
Thanks.
1:04:40
Caller
Hey, I was...
1:04:41
Adam
Where'd you go? I was in New York last week. What's up?
1:04:44
Caller
I have a question. Years ago, I'm forty-two. I'm from Sacramento. Years ago, I was with this guy, and he put cocaine on my pussy, and I was wondering if that would cause me any kind of effect later on in life. Also, I mean, I did get off. I had the best orgasm in my life. It was great. And I just wonder, you know, what goes on with that, putting down there and all that?
1:05:05
Drew
Well, it's a topical anesthetic.
1:05:08
Adam
First off, Angie, where'd you go to finishing school? Dr. Drew and I got it back here.
1:05:12
Caller
West Sacramento, as a matter of fact.
1:05:14
Adam
He thought it was in the East.
1:05:15
Drew
I was in Pine Manor.
1:05:16
Adam
Pine Manor?
1:05:17
Drew
Pack ten.
1:05:19
Adam
Angie, he put some cocaine on you down there.
1:05:22
Caller
Right.
1:05:23
Adam
And it numbed you up?
1:05:24
Drew
Yeah.
1:05:26
Adam
He gave you a freeze?
1:05:27
Caller
Exactly. First time I did it years ago though.
1:05:30
Adam
Huh?
1:05:30
Caller
Like 15 years ago. It was great.
1:05:32
Blink 182
You had a gnarly orgasm?
1:05:33
Caller
Yeah.
1:05:34
Drew
It was cool. So this happened on one single outing?
1:05:37
Caller
Right.
1:05:37
Drew
He didn't do it regularly to you?
1:05:38
Caller
No.
1:05:39
Drew
Did you get high from it?
1:05:41
Caller
I think I did. Yeah.
1:05:42
Drew
I've seen a weird thing lately.
1:05:43
Adam
Really?
1:05:44
Drew
Semen is actually four times, excuse me, amphetamine is actually four to five times more concentrated in semen than in blood. So when guys ejaculate into women, they get amphetamine load. And I've seen it from opiates. Opiates do some of that too.
1:05:59
Adam
Ropey, cocaine load.
1:06:03
Caller
I don't do any kind of drugs but he just sent me one time. I felt kind of neat years and years ago. I was wondering if it would have any kind of effect on me.
1:06:10
Drew
No, I don't think so.
1:06:11
Blink 182
You have to say it. You have to say it does because otherwise it's the horriest thing in the world.
1:06:15
Drew
Yeah, she'll do it again.
1:06:16
Adam
Hey Angie, we're in the 80s, a great time, it was like 1987.
1:06:20
Drew
I know.
1:06:20
Adam
He was probably sporting the Don Johnson look.
1:06:23
Caller
Exactly.
1:06:24
Adam
Right, he had the white blazer.
1:06:26
Caller
Adam, you're so funny. Right?
1:06:27
Adam
No.
1:06:28
Caller
Drew, you're sexy.
1:06:29
Drew
Yeah, but Adam's right, isn't he?
1:06:31
Caller
Yeah.
1:06:31
Adam
Yeah, put a little blow on you. He got down with you.
1:06:34
Drew
Baby, where's your priority thing about that? I'm going to go to the roof. You run around the house three times.
1:06:39
Adam
Did he do anything to his penis?
1:06:42
Caller
Yeah, he had a pretty big penis.
1:06:45
Drew
I suspect that all of the whole experience had more to do with your orgasm than cocaine on the vagina.
1:06:49
Caller
Yeah, you know, that's what I think is too, is he's the only guy who ever gave me orgasm.
1:06:53
Drew
All right. So it had more to do with him. Wow.
1:06:56
Adam
15 years.
1:06:57
Caller
Yeah.
1:06:57
Drew
What are you doing all those years in between?
1:06:59
Caller
Oh, I was married, and I left my husband 15 years, and stuff like that, but...
1:07:05
Adam
How's life going now?
1:07:07
Caller
Not too good.
1:07:07
Adam
What's the matter?
1:07:08
Caller
I don't know. I was in the relationship 15 years, and now I'm just not seeing anybody. It's been a couple of years, so I'm just going to go out there and be with anybody, you know?
1:07:18
Adam
All right. Do you have any kids?
1:07:19
Caller
No kids, no.
1:07:20
Caller
Good.
1:07:21
Caller
Yeah, so I'm doing okay.
1:07:23
Caller
All right, babe.
1:07:24
Caller
I listen to you guys every night. I love you guys. You guys are great.
1:07:26
Drew
Thanks, but don't recreate the 87 sport attire. Oh, no, no. Just realize it's probably worth the guy.
1:07:33
Caller
You guys are great. Love you. Bye.
1:07:35
Adam
All right. Yeah. I miss those days when they rubbed coke on everything. You know, that was a good thing about drug, that cocaine, because he also had a sort of topical aspect to it that you don't have, like you can't rub weed on your penis. No. That's no good.
1:07:51
Drew
But cocaine also in those days was non addictive, you'll remember.
1:07:54
Caller
Oh, yeah. Yeah.
1:07:56
Drew
People forget how these things hit the scene.
1:07:58
Adam
I'm really, I want to get back into coke. I really do.
1:08:00
Drew
Oh, good.
1:08:02
Adam
I'll tell you why. Because there was a short period of my life when I did coke and my friends did coke, and that was probably in the early, probably mid 80s.
1:08:13
Drew
How did you afford it?
1:08:14
Adam
That's my point. I swear to Christ, I used to work carpet cleaning, and we'd make $6.50 an hour, and the son of a bitch would take taxes out, and he'd sell us like a half gram of coke or something for 55, 60 bucks. You'd work a whole week and you'd get a half gram of coke. Yeah, it was great. It was good times. But the point is, is coke was like, I don't know, it was like 120 bucks a gram or something like that. And then I was making 7, 6.57 bucks an hour. I mean, you do the math. That's a pretty expensive drug. Now I'm literally a millionaire, literally. And coke, it's free now, isn't it? Isn't it almost free?
1:08:57
Drew
What to you?
1:08:57
Adam
I mean, to me, it would really, no, but seriously, the difference between me doing coke now and the money I make and the price of coke is now and me doing coke in 1984 would be the difference between me paying $170 a gallon and 15 cents a gallon. Really, if it was a car, wouldn't it?
1:09:18
Drew
Yes.
1:09:18
Adam
Okay, so now's the time to make my move. Okay, Drew, go out and score me and give me some of that good medicinal stuff.
1:09:26
Drew
Yeah, whenever I have to get prescribed something for anabiotics, can you score for me? Can you score me some antibiotics?
1:09:32
Adam
Drew hates score. Go score me some sleeping pills. Mark Schnell, we should score some holes. That's what you use when you need someone to get you something. Okay, Mark is here from Blink 182. We're going to hear the world premiere from the new Blink album when we come back.
1:09:54
Caller
Hello, this is Loveline. 1-800-LOVE-1-91. Loveline will be right back.
1:10:18
Hi, this is John Favreau, and you're listening to Loveline with Adam Carolla and Dr. Drew. Yeah, yeah.
1:10:25
Adam
Phone number, 1-800-LOVE-191. Mark is here from Blink 182.
1:10:30
Drew
Hello.
1:10:31
Adam
Take Off Your Pants and Jacket is the name of the new CD, but don't go to the record stores yet, because it will not be out until June 12th. But we will, we're going to do a world premiere of a song that is off the new CD in a matter of moments. But there's a little stipulation here, which is we can't just play it straight on through, because somebody will download it or grab it or something.
1:10:57
Drew
So we just need to talk in the middle of it or?
1:10:59
Adam
I'm going to sing the dreidel song over the whole song.
1:11:02
Drew
The whole thing, okay.
1:11:03
Adam
I had a little dreidel, I made it out of, well, you know how the dreidel song goes. Who knows what goes on in the old vagina, the old vagina.
1:11:12
Drew
Ladies only.
1:11:14
Adam
Now everyone, over 70. I will, yeah, I may sing the vagina song, but we'll work it out. You'll still hear the song. We'll just screw it up for anyone who's trying to record it. Okay, let's speak to Summer. Summer's 19. Summer?
1:11:29
Caller
Yeah.
1:11:29
Adam
What's up?
1:11:30
Caller
Yeah, I had kind of a question and opinion thing that I'm 19 and I'm kind of a guy that's like way older than me. And like a lot of people are like, they're...
1:11:42
Blink 182
How much older?
1:11:43
Caller
He's 35.
1:11:45
Caller
All right.
1:11:47
Caller
But the thing is like I'm happy. Like, he like listens...
1:11:50
Drew
This is sort of on the border for us. This is an absolute no way. If you were 17, we'd be angry.
1:11:56
Blink 182
Hey, I'm getting closer to 35, so it doesn't sound that bad to me now. I think you're super cool.
1:12:00
Caller
But a lot of my friends are like, oh, my gosh, he's so old and he has a kid and everything because that's kind of how I met him.
1:12:07
Drew
Right.
1:12:08
Adam
You were dating his kid?
1:12:09
Caller
No.
1:12:10
Adam
No. I see. But as guys, we know that we would not want to hang out with the 35-year-old dude who was dating the 19-year-old. Would we? Would we like that guy?
1:12:19
Drew
You might. You might. But here's the bigger, I think, issue is that you kind of know what he's up to. You know what I'm saying? You got to listen.
1:12:28
Blink 182
What's she whispering about?
1:12:29
Let's listen.
1:12:31
Blink 182
Who are you talking to?
1:12:33
Caller
My mom.
1:12:33
Caller
Oh, really?
1:12:34
Drew
Does she know about this?
1:12:37
Caller
No.
1:12:38
Drew
Does she now?
1:12:39
Caller
No.
1:12:39
Caller
No one knows. Like a couple of my friends know.
1:12:42
Adam
I see. What's this guy do for a living?
1:12:44
Caller
He does something with like socks or something like that.
1:12:47
Drew
Socks?
1:12:48
Caller
I don't like.
1:12:49
Blink 182
Socks. He does the sock trick, the launching the sock thing.
1:12:52
Caller
I don't know. He's like a financial advisor or something with money, something like that. I see.
1:12:57
Drew
But we kind of know what he's up to with her. You know what I'm saying? And it could work out, but you're not at the same place in life as he is. He's not likely to sort of value your interest.
1:13:06
Caller
Yeah, that's our thing though. We don't have a lot of comment, but not a lot of people have listened to him before.
1:13:11
Drew
He likes that you're 19.
1:13:13
Caller
And like he listens to me and wants to know my views and opinions.
1:13:17
Caller
Right. Right.
1:13:18
Adam
Now give me a BJ. Are you done with your opinion? Oh, you still have some more views? Well, can you blow me and give me your opinion? What if your opinion was to blow me? All right. You have a lot of sex?
1:13:30
Caller
No.
1:13:31
Adam
No.
1:13:32
Caller
Not really.
1:13:33
Adam
Interesting.
1:13:34
Drew
Why not? He travels a lot.
1:13:36
Caller
Yeah, he does.
1:13:37
Adam
He does. You think he has any other women?
1:13:41
Caller
I don't know. I mean, I've heard that he's like had like girls like a lot of girls before, but he claims that he hasn't. It's like rumors and stuff.
1:13:50
Adam
Yeah. Also the problem with a guy who's 35 is dating a 19 year old. Here's a guy who likes chicks, doesn't have a whole lot of scruples and maybe stepping out a little bit.
1:14:00
Caller
Yeah.
1:14:00
Drew
He has a reputation for this. I mean, this is that guy. He's that guy. He's doing what he does.
1:14:05
Caller
And I like, I mean, a lot of people told me that, oh, it has something to do with your dad and you're just looking for a father for him.
1:14:11
Drew
No, no, no. Listen, you're talking to Drew here and I don't even say that to you. I just say, it's understandable you'd be attracted to an older established guy, a guy who's obviously attracted to women, a guy who likes women. But I don't think you really understand what you're getting into and you may have to learn. And maybe this will work out. I just don't think so.
1:14:26
Caller
Yeah, I don't think so either. But I mean, a lot of people told me, oh, just break up with them. But like I'm having fun and I'm happy.
1:14:33
Adam
Well, don't get pregnant.
1:14:34
Drew
Going to college or something?
1:14:36
Caller
Yeah.
1:14:36
Adam
Junior college.
1:14:37
Caller
No, not junior college. You always say that. But I can honestly say I don't go to junior college.
1:14:41
Drew
We live in Corona. Where's the college out there?
1:14:44
Caller
UCR.
1:14:45
Drew
Riverside.
1:14:45
Caller
Yeah. All right. It's a university.
1:14:48
Drew
Yes. No, no, it's a good university, too. All right.
1:14:50
Adam
It is? Yeah.
1:14:51
Caller
Right, there you go.
1:14:53
Drew
I love that. Riverside is a good school. Good science. Great science at Riverside.
1:14:57
Adam
Really?
1:14:57
Drew
Yeah, really good.
1:14:58
Adam
True. You're such a, you know, you're, some guys are in the cars, you're in the colleges.
1:15:02
Drew
I'm in the schools, I am.
1:15:03
Adam
That is such a geek town. G-G-G-Geek Town. Christina?
1:15:12
Caller
Hello?
1:15:14
Adam
Christina?
1:15:15
Caller
Uh-huh?
1:15:15
Drew
Hi.
1:15:16
Adam
You're 14?
1:15:17
Caller
Yeah.
1:15:17
What's up?
1:15:18
Caller
First of all, I want to say hi, Mark.
1:15:20
Drew
Hi.
1:15:21
Caller
Oh, my God, I adore you. Oh, my God. Uh-huh?
1:15:26
Drew
Oh, she's answering the radio now. She's answering the radio.
1:15:28
Adam
Christina? Christina?
1:15:30
Caller
Yeah.
1:15:31
Adam
Christina?
1:15:31
Caller
Yeah, this is her.
1:15:33
Caller
Hello. Hello.
1:15:36
Drew
We should turn the radio on.
1:15:37
Caller
Hello.
1:15:38
Drew
Hi.
1:15:38
Caller
Okay.
1:15:39
Adam
All right.
1:15:40
Caller
Am I talking to you guys now?
1:15:41
Drew
Yeah, we're here.
1:15:41
Caller
Okay.
1:15:42
Adam
Radio down?
1:15:43
Caller
Yeah.
1:15:43
Adam
Okay.
1:15:44
Drew
I'm kidding.
1:15:45
Adam
All right, what's your question?
1:15:46
Caller
Okay, see, see, I'm going on with a 16 year old.
1:15:49
Drew
You're what?
1:15:50
Caller
I'm with a 16 year old.
1:15:51
Adam
16.
1:15:52
Drew
You're 14.
1:15:53
Caller
Yeah. And I'm having, like, feelings to sleep with him.
1:15:56
Adam
I see.
1:15:57
Drew
Feelings to sleep with him.
1:15:58
Caller
Yeah.
1:15:58
Drew
You mean he's begging you?
1:15:59
Caller
No.
1:16:00
Drew
He's demanding?
1:16:01
Caller
No.
1:16:02
Caller
He's been asking, but I am.
1:16:04
Adam
Okay. How long have you been with him?
1:16:06
Caller
Like a year.
1:16:07
Adam
I see. All right.
1:16:09
Drew
Getting warmer.
1:16:10
Adam
And you want to do that?
1:16:12
Caller
Yeah, but I know it's not right.
1:16:14
Adam
Yeah. Who's that? Your sister?
1:16:18
Caller
Huh?
1:16:18
Adam
Is that your sister?
1:16:19
Caller
Yeah.
1:16:20
Adam
Yeah. What the hell's going on? You have a lot of brothers and sisters?
1:16:23
Caller
No.
1:16:23
Caller
It's because my mom's on the other side.
1:16:27
Adam
She's like, how many kids are over there?
1:16:29
Blink 182
I think she lives in an orphanage.
1:16:31
Caller
No, I don't.
1:16:32
Adam
Does your mother live in a shoe?
1:16:34
Caller
No.
1:16:35
Caller
She's cool. She's cool.
1:16:37
Drew
She's cool. Is she listening to what you're saying on the radio?
1:16:39
Caller
Huh?
1:16:39
Drew
Is she listening to what you're saying on the radio?
1:16:41
Caller
I don't know.
1:16:42
Adam
How many brothers and sisters do you have?
1:16:43
Caller
I have three brothers. No, I have a brother and three sisters.
1:16:49
Caller
No, actually two sisters.
1:16:51
Caller
I'm the third one.
1:16:52
Adam
Killed one. All right.
1:16:53
Caller
Yeah.
1:16:53
Adam
All right. And you want to have sex?
1:16:57
Caller
Yeah, but I know it's not right.
1:16:59
Drew
All right. There you go. You're not ready. That's cool.
1:17:01
Caller
But I want to.
1:17:02
Adam
All right.
1:17:02
Drew
You want to is good.
1:17:03
Adam
Here's my point. How far away can she be? She's been with this guy for?
1:17:07
Drew
A year. It's a big year.
1:17:08
Adam
A year?
1:17:09
Drew
A big year.
1:17:10
Adam
That's a long time.
1:17:11
Drew
The guy's not pushing.
1:17:12
Adam
He's ready.
1:17:12
Drew
The guy's not pushing.
1:17:13
Blink 182
Hey, maybe I figured it out. It's always the young guys that want to have sex and the girls always say no, but now the girls are saying yes. It opened up the whole can of worms now.
1:17:22
Adam
Maybe they're freaking the guys out.
1:17:23
Blink 182
Yeah, exactly. Starting off with that first guy that had this chick ask him how he felt all the time. Check how she felt her. The roles are being reversed and everything is going to hell.
1:17:33
Adam
You can break his hymen.
1:17:34
Caller
Mark.
1:17:35
Blink 182
What?
1:17:35
Caller
Mark.
1:17:36
Caller
What? Can you do me a favor?
1:17:39
Blink 182
Oh, no. Yeah?
1:17:41
Caller
Can you tell Tom that I love him?
1:17:44
Blink 182
Yeah.
1:17:44
Drew
First thing.
1:17:45
Adam
All right, Christina, listen to me. You better use some birth control.
1:17:51
Drew
Oh, please.
1:17:51
Caller
No, but it's wrong.
1:17:53
Drew
Okay.
1:17:54
Adam
It's wrong. But if the time comes, do not be caught off guard.
1:17:59
Caller
Okay.
1:17:59
Adam
Be prepared.
1:18:00
Caller
Okay. Oh, and I want to-
1:18:02
Caller
There you go.
1:18:04
Caller
Yes.
1:18:05
Adam
Wow, this feels good. I'm going to hang up on everyone tomorrow night. That's it.
1:18:09
Caller
Just pow.
1:18:11
Caller
All right.
1:18:11
Adam
Should we do our world premiere from the Blink 182 CD?
1:18:15
Blink 182
Just hang up on one more person.
1:18:17
Caller
Okay. Real fast.
1:18:19
Adam
Yeah. Jennifer?
1:18:22
Caller
Yeah.
1:18:22
Adam
16?
1:18:23
Caller
Yeah.
1:18:24
Adam
What's your question?
1:18:25
Caller
I just want to-
1:18:26
Caller
Yeah.
1:18:30
Adam
I'm such a big man.
1:18:32
Caller
That's right.
1:18:32
Adam
I feel big. Do I look better? I'm glowing, right?
1:18:38
Drew
You're big.
1:18:38
Caller
Yeah, I'm a big, big man.
1:18:40
Adam
Big, powerful man.
1:18:42
Caller
Yeah.
1:18:42
Drew
You get a little bloated and sort of blow harder too.
1:18:44
Adam
Not everyone can hang up on a 16-year-old. He's a big, big, important, powerful man to do that. Jennifer, now just hang on because we just put her on hold. We'll get back with her and get her question out. Now, it's time to hear our world premiere for the Blink 182 song. You got that queued up there, Anderson? We're going to try a little something. Like I said, don't be distracted. We're doing a little something so people can't bootleg record this thing. So don't be distracted. Here we go. This is called Stay Together for the Kids.
1:20:21
Caller
I had a little dreidel.
1:20:23
Drew
How's the weather up there where you live now?
1:20:24
Adam
I made it out of clay.
1:20:25
Caller
Nice.
1:20:26
Drew
It's like San Diego sort of, isn't it?
1:20:27
Adam
Yeah.
1:20:28
Caller
Nice.
1:20:28
Adam
And when it's dry and ready, oh dreidel, I will play.
1:20:32
Caller
Oh dreidel, dreidel, dreidel.
1:21:44
Adam
All right, we've ruined the song enough, haven't we? No one can boot like this. Yeah, our work is done. Let's just enjoy the song. Well, there you have it. A world premiere from Blink 182 off of the new CD, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, with a little sampling by Yours Truly, with Who Knows What Goes On in the Old Vagina, and the Dreadle Song.
1:23:14
Blink 182
What's rad is that's going to end up all over the internet with that thing in it until the record comes out. So for the next month, kids are going to be listening to it with your Dreadle Song going on over it.
1:23:22
Adam
That would be on Napster. And the real funny part is they'll think that you did that in the studio. All right, Mark is here from Blink 182. We'll take ourselves a little break and we'll be right back.
1:23:32
Caller
Loveline, Loveline, 1-800-LOVE-191, back in a minute.
1:24:03
Caller
Yeah.
1:24:03
Blink 182
That was Newtown Glory.
1:24:05
Adam
Yeah. Yeah, we dig this song. We had these guys on the show four or five weeks ago, didn't we?
1:24:11
Drew
We're six months ago.
1:24:13
Adam
Our six months or it could have been four years ago. Yeah. We have no idea.
1:24:16
Drew
We're just locked in this booth all the time, we lose track of time.
1:24:18
Adam
Is it light outside?
1:24:20
Drew
Could be.
1:24:21
Adam
Yeah, because we're coming up on 12, the clock says, but is that noon or is that in the middle of the night? Am I going to need to turn my lights on when I drive home?
1:24:30
Drew
I'm confused.
1:24:31
Adam
OK, Drew, that's too much for you to think about. Mark is here from Blink 182, the new CD is out June 12th, that's when you can find it in the record stores, not a day before that. Tama?
1:24:44
Caller
Yeah, hello.
1:24:45
Adam
Hello.
1:24:45
Caller
Hello.
1:24:46
Adam
Hi.
1:24:47
Caller
Hi.
1:24:47
Adam
Hey. Who's on the phone?
1:24:49
Drew
What's up, Tama?
1:24:50
Caller
Nothing. Tama's on the phone and her mom's on the phone too.
1:24:53
Blink 182
Oh, goodness. Hi, Tama's mom, how are you?
1:24:57
Adam
Tama's mom, what's your name?
1:24:59
Caller
My name is Jilly.
1:25:00
Blink 182
Jilly?
1:25:01
Caller
Yes.
1:25:01
Adam
All right, and you named your kid Tama, huh?
1:25:05
Caller
Yes, Tama Ray. My husband used to play the drums.
1:25:08
Adam
Right, and you played the tambourine?
1:25:10
Caller
Yes, and he named her Tama after the Tama drums.
1:25:13
Blink 182
Yeah, I got that.
1:25:15
Adam
Good thing he didn't play the bassoon. Tama, you'd be screwed. All right, go ahead. I think that went over everyone. Go ahead. You got a question?
1:25:27
Caller
No, I just wanted to talk to him.
1:25:29
Drew
Here he is. And go.
1:25:32
Caller
What do I say?
1:25:34
Caller
All I got to say is I'm the mom of a 15-year-old that is in high school, in Millican High School in Long Beach, California.
1:25:41
Blink 182
All right.
1:25:42
Caller
And she is a true follower, and I am totally a follower with her.
1:25:46
Blink 182
Well, cool. That makes me happy. When I was growing up, my mom listened to all the same bands that I did. My mom walked around the house and sang bad religion songs No, she did not. I swear on my life, she totally did. She was super cool.
1:25:58
Adam
My mom was pretty good in the Fog Hat and UFO.
1:26:02
Drew
No, it was Henry Mancini.
1:26:03
Adam
That's right.
1:26:04
Caller
We went to the concert at the Long Beach Arena.
1:26:07
Blink 182
And did you guys have a good talk on the way home?
1:26:08
Caller
Yes, it was fun.
1:26:09
Drew
Cool.
1:26:10
Caller
We were probably, like, we were standing right there, probably ten minutes back, and you just looked awesome. The band was great. I totally believe that Blink 182 is a teenager band, and an awesome band, and an adult band.
1:26:24
Blink 182
Oh, cool. Thank you very much.
1:26:26
Adam
All right. And mom?
1:26:27
Caller
Yes.
1:26:28
Adam
You got to give a daughter a little space coming up here in the next few years, though.
1:26:32
Caller
Definitely.
1:26:33
Adam
You can't be going out on dates with her and everything, right?
1:26:35
Caller
Exactly. Well, she wants to date you.
1:26:37
Drew
Adam or Mark?
1:26:39
Adam
She wants Mark.
1:26:40
Drew
Mark.
1:26:41
Adam
Yeah, of course.
1:26:43
Caller
Well, we've definitely had a good time, and I enjoy going into a room and seeing it be a Blink room.
1:26:49
Adam
Thanks, mom, and Tama.
1:26:51
Drew
Mom, what do you do for a living?
1:26:53
Adam
Sell some weed out of the bank.
1:26:55
Caller
Hey, mom.
1:26:56
Caller
Yes.
1:26:56
Drew
What do you do for a living, mom?
1:26:58
Caller
I work at an aerospace company.
1:27:00
Blink 182
What company?
1:27:01
Caller
It's called All-Metal Processing.
1:27:03
Blink 182
Oh, okay.
1:27:04
Caller
And we do aerospace work for the aerospace industry.
1:27:07
Blink 182
My dad probably works with you. My dad builds missiles and bombs.
1:27:10
Caller
Oh, really?
1:27:11
Blink 182
Yeah.
1:27:11
Drew
Cool.
1:27:12
Blink 182
Yeah. He's taken out a lot of people.
1:27:15
Caller
Yeah.
1:27:16
Drew
He must be very proud.
1:27:17
Blink 182
Yeah, especially in Desert Storm. He calls a lot of people to die in Desert Storm. We're all very proud.
1:27:21
Adam
Really? What did he work on specifically? Do any Patriot work? Sidewinders?
1:27:26
Blink 182
No, he actually did work on Sidewinder. He works on a missile called HARM, which is like it takes out enemy radar. It's high-speed anti-radiation missile. I know all that because I grew up with it. So yeah, he designs missiles that take out enemy radar and humans. He's designing a bomb right now that only takes out little handicapped kids.
1:27:42
Adam
Right. Yeah, he's working on one. They perfected the technology to take out paraplegics, but the quad, that's the one they're having difficulty with. But they're on it and he's hoping that... You know what I love about those missiles is I love the ones that go through six or seven layers of bunker and then explode. How is it that you have this projectile, maybe it's six feet long and a foot around, and it's traveling 1,000 miles an hour and it's filled with high explosives, yet when it impacts the three foot thick concrete bunker, it does not go off. One charge goes off and blows a hole in the bunker, but then the other charge does not go off until it's inside of the bunker or Baby Formula Factory and takes out everyone in there. But what companies does your dad work for?
1:28:38
Blink 182
He works for the United States Navy.
1:28:40
Adam
Does he have security clearance?
1:28:42
Blink 182
Yeah.
1:28:43
Adam
Do you ever try to get him to talk about stuff he won't talk about?
1:28:45
Blink 182
Yeah, totally. Yeah, absolutely. I try to find out if aliens really exist. Maybe he knows. Maybe he's the one guy that knows.
1:28:52
Adam
You know, he's not in the Navy. He just works.
1:28:55
Blink 182
Right, Department of Defense.
1:28:56
Adam
Wow, that is cool.
1:28:58
Blink 182
Yeah, he operates outside the law.
1:29:01
Adam
I like that.
1:29:02
Drew
What city? Can you say?
1:29:03
Blink 182
What's that?
1:29:03
Drew
What city?
1:29:04
Blink 182
It's called Ridgecrest, China Lake. It's up there on 395.
1:29:07
Drew
Yeah, it's up near Inyo curve.
1:29:09
Blink 182
Yeah, that's where I grew up, dude.
1:29:11
Drew
No.
1:29:11
Blink 182
I swear. Most oppressing thing in the world.
1:29:14
Drew
You ever seen that on the way to Mammoth? Oh, yeah.
1:29:17
Blink 182
Yeah.
1:29:17
Drew
Yeah, those little towns out there away from 395 too. It's off in the distance.
1:29:23
Blink 182
We had one stoplight and when they open up the second stoplight, I swear they had a big parade. The mayor came out and cut the tape. Wow. Everybody had hot dogs and stuff.
1:29:31
Adam
I'd read that Ted Kaczynski thought about settling down there, but just not enough action.
1:29:37
Drew
Why is there a city there?
1:29:39
Blink 182
Because people need to build bombs and missiles out there and test them.
1:29:41
Drew
So it's a Navy thing.
1:29:43
Adam
Did you ever get to go to any tests?
1:29:45
Blink 182
No.
1:29:47
Adam
And what was your dad working on? Was he working on the guidance systems or the explosives?
1:29:51
Blink 182
Yeah, I think the guidance system, actually. He's a...
1:29:54
Drew
So he can answer your question about why the bomb goes off where it goes.
1:29:57
Blink 182
Yeah, he totally could. We can call him right now.
1:29:58
Adam
Yeah, I'd really like to get into it, I think. And he sits up all night in, like, his Navy jacket and watches World at War on the History Channel.
1:30:07
Blink 182
He just watches Top Gun in his underpants.
1:30:10
Adam
Does he tell you, like, does he have, like, a six-pack of Pabstall boys and tell you how we could have won Vietnam?
1:30:17
Blink 182
No, uh-uh.
1:30:17
Adam
No, he doesn't do that. I like those guys who explain to you how we could have won whatever war it was that we may have either lost or tied. All right. So he's got to be pretty pumped about this Pearl Harbor movie coming out.
1:30:29
Blink 182
No, I'm sure he is.
1:30:30
Adam
Yeah. That's his predecessor's handiwork, working on those bombs. Brandon?
1:30:37
Yeah.
1:30:37
Adam
You're 20?
1:30:39
Caller
Yeah.
1:30:40
Adam
What's up?
1:30:40
Caller
I have a question for Mark.
1:30:41
Blink 182
What's up, Brandon?
1:30:43
Caller
I just want to say you guys are like rad. Thank you. I see you guys all the time, get back at SOMA and stuff like that.
1:30:48
Caller
Oh, killer. Right on.
1:30:50
Caller
I was wondering like now that like SOMA's closed down and stuff, and there's not really an all ages venue, now you kind of got a little extra cash if you guys are opening up like an all ages venue in San Diego.
1:31:00
Blink 182
You know how hard it is to open up an all ages venue in San Diego? It really is awful. The San Diego city government doesn't want any, they make all these weird laws like you can't, if you're under 19, you can't dance. So they can't have a club there that is conducive to dancing.
1:31:12
Adam
So it's like footloose. I know.
1:31:14
Blink 182
It's really weird. And a lot of, you know, the epicenter is a club that opened up in San Diego that tried to do it for all ages. And they're getting shut down and, excuse me, we're like puked.
1:31:24
Adam
Do you guys play mostly all ages?
1:31:28
Blink 182
Yeah, pretty much exclusively. Yeah. I mean, once or twice a year, we might play a 21 and up just for fun.
1:31:32
Drew
But, you know, we've got like a 30 second, we got to talk to Jennifer, who you hung up on.
1:31:37
Adam
Oh, really?
1:31:37
Drew
Want to get her back?
1:31:38
Adam
All right. But we're not done talking about guidance. I know.
1:31:41
Drew
I know.
1:31:41
Adam
You better do it. Jennifer?
1:31:43
Caller
Yeah.
1:31:43
Adam
You're 16?
1:31:44
Caller
Yeah.
1:31:44
Adam
What's your question real fast?
1:31:45
Caller
I just wanted to say hello to you guys and tell Mark that he's got an awesome band.
1:31:49
Blink 182
Thank you very much.
1:31:50
Caller
And I also wanted to congratulate him with his new marriage. I hope you're doing well.
1:31:54
Blink 182
Well, thank you. I get to have a lot of sex.
1:31:56
Adam
Thanks, Jennifer. Hey, Jennifer.
1:31:57
Caller
Yeah.
1:31:58
Adam
What are your plans after high school?
1:32:00
Caller
I want to be a big man.
1:32:02
Caller
Yeah.
1:32:03
Blink 182
Oh, man.
1:32:04
Adam
Woo. Big man.
1:32:06
Blink 182
This is the best night of my life.
1:32:07
Adam
Big man. We'll be back. All righty. Well, there you go. Another fantabulous Loveline show, Safely in the Ground. Always a pleasure when Blink 182.
1:32:49
Blink 182
Thank you.
1:32:49
Adam
Especially Mark comes on the show. They've been coming on for many years since they were just young kids out pushing dude ranch.
1:32:57
Drew
I think you were at the old studio very first.
1:32:59
Caller
No.
1:33:00
Blink 182
No, we were here. I was telling Adam earlier, I remember the first time we came on, he had to lecture us because we were really trying way too hard. After the first break, he pulled me outside and said, look, you got to calm down and not try so hard.
1:33:11
Adam
I gave my Johnny Cash fee. Listen son, there's only room in this studio for one comedian, and that's Drew. All right. The CD is out June 12th, and it is called Take Off Your Pants and Jacket. Mark, thanks a lot.
1:33:28
Blink 182
Thanks for having me.
1:33:28
Adam
Best of luck to Blink 182. We have Jerry from Survivor tomorrow night. Until next time, Adam Corolla for Dr. Drew saying mahalo.
1:33:36
Caller
First, I want to say what's up to Mark Hoppus.
1:33:40
Caller
This has been Loveline. The opinions expressed on this show are not necessarily those of the staff, management, sponsors or this station.
1:33:49
Caller
The producer for Loveline is Ann Wilkins Engel.
1:33:52
Caller
Loveline is a presentation of Westwood One Entertainment.
