0:52 Voiceover Loveline is meant for an adult audience. Loveline may contain sexually oriented content.
1:00 Loveline with Adam Carolla and Dr. Drew.
1:04 Adam I'm Adam. Phone number 1-800-L-O-V-E-1-9-1. Tomorrow night, Jack Black and Kyle are going to be in here from Tenacious D. Tonight, we have a Bow Wow Wow reunion, I guess. Yes, I mean, I don't know what to call it, reunion or not. Adrian is-
1:24 Drew Reunion with Loveline.
1:25 Adam Reunion with Loveline.
1:26 Yeah.
1:27 Adam Drew, when is the first time that you saw Bow Wow Wow on Loveline?
1:32 Drew I'm thinking 15 years ago.
1:34 At least.
1:35 Adam At least? Yeah, yeah. I'm only 22.
1:39 Drew Yeah, but you were a zygote at the time.
1:41 Adam Annabelle, you were like, you were nine or something when the band started. So what do you care? How did you know that? I mean, that's the way to do it. Adrian is here from No Doubt is going to be drumming. Are you going to be drumming on the tour or just on the dates that we have here at the Hollywood Racetrack and the House of Blues? Or are you going all over the country?
2:03 Bow Wow Wow At the moment, it's those two shows and they're both this month.
2:06 Adam How'd you get involved with this, Adrian?
2:09 Bow Wow Wow I got a couple of phone calls and I guess my name was thrown their way and then we met up and they wanted to see if I had the stuff and it worked out.
2:19 Adam Is No Doubt cool with that?
2:21 Bow Wow Wow Of course, cause they were fans of Bow Wow Wow growing up as well as I was. And so they were happy and they go and watch and they're into it.
2:30 Adam Yeah, Bow Wow Wow was one of the all time K-Rock bands. Not at the very beginning, but- Full swing. Full swing, yeah, when everything got going. And Anabella was, now I don't know that much about the band, though. You're from England?
2:48 Bow Wow Wow What, originally?
2:49 Adam Yeah, where are you? What's your nationality?
2:51 Bow Wow Wow I'm half Burmese, half English.
2:53 Aha.
2:53 Bow Wow Wow I was born, I'm a Rangoon baby, honey.
2:55 Adam But is, me too, and is the band?
2:58 No. Yeah, yeah.
3:00 Adam Where's Rangoon? We beat them sometimes in Burma.
3:03 Bow Wow Wow It's a really tiny country. No one's probably heard of it here, but-
3:06 Adam Did, did we have, we had to throw the Japanese off there at some point? Yeah, they tortured us. The Japanese?
3:13 Bow Wow Wow At that time, yeah.
3:14 Adam Yeah, no, now they're great. Now they just torture, they just torture whales. You're good now. Well, they're smart.
3:20 They're trying to copy us.
3:22 Adam They like all the stuff we liked a few years ago and we'll sell it to them at a premium. Hey, want some Levi's? $400. Elvis wiped his ass with that tissue. Five, five, 500 yen. Thank you. All right, so, so Bow Wow Wow, though, is, is, were you born in England or did you, I mean, were you raised in England?
3:42 Bow Wow Wow On and off, yes.
3:43 Adam On and is Bow Wow Wow is an English band?
3:46 Bow Wow Wow We, we stem from London, England, yeah. That's where we formed. That's where we were.
3:50 Yeah, we were all from London at the time.
3:53 Adam I had the feeling about that, but I never, I never knew exactly. I don't know what Drew knew, but I didn't know. I thought, I thought like Led Zeppelin was from Michigan for like, for like 20 years. Like I was pissed when I found out that they were from England. It was like, I had no idea. But anyway, so, so you form up in the mid early eighties.
4:17 Bow Wow Wow No, earlier than that, cause I was still at school. I think it's 1979.
4:21 Yeah, the very, we were Adam and the ants.
4:24 Adam Oh really?
4:25 We were, yeah, we were the ants. Then Malcolm McLaren came along and convinced us to get rid of Adam.
4:31 Adam Really?
4:32 Yeah, and we did.
4:33 Bow Wow Wow Holy Christ.
4:34 And that's why we sounded a little bit the same cause we were giving all our tapes to Adam to write to.
4:38 Adam It was very, and then we kicked him out. You do think of Bow Wow Wow and Adam and the Ants. You do hear that sort of military drumming thing going on.
4:47 It's kind of a little bit groovier than that.
4:49 Adam I'm sorry.
4:49 Drew That's all right. Barundian.
4:51 Barundian, yeah.
4:52 Adam Well, what I mean is it sounds like the drumsticks are hitting the edge of the drum and not the center of the drummer. I don't know what the hell to call it.
5:01 Yeah, that's right. Moving quickly along.
5:07 Adam You know, you can march. You can march into Burma and throw the Japanese off. If you have to.
5:11 That's right. You know, they raise your blood, that kind of thing.
5:14 Adam I'm just trying to say it's the same. You can hear the influence that one had on the other.
5:20 Because we were giving Adam the tapes every night. Here, this is what we did in the rehearsal room. Write some lyrics to that. He wasn't kind of working out. So Malcolm says, look, why don't you take the sound that you guys come up with and move on. So we did. And then six months later, we found Anabella.
5:35 Adam How do you get Anabella when Anabella is 12 at the time?
5:39 13.
5:40 Adam 13.
5:40 Bow Wow Wow I was working in a dry cleaners. I was singing along to song and that's some guy walked into by hashish off another guy and then.
5:49 Moving quickly along.
5:51 Bow Wow Wow I'm telling you the truth. I'll lie. No, I'm just kidding. I'm sorry. Yeah. And that's how it all started really. I just went to an audition with a friend of mine.
5:59 Adam Wow. And then how old were you when you guys hit the road? I mean, started touring and doing that kind of thing.
6:05 About a year later, nine months.
6:10 Adam I mean, you probably couldn't have, wouldn't have been able to get into a lot of the clubs and venues you were playing, right?
6:16 Bow Wow Wow They wouldn't let me in. They'd have to, they were very funny with some of the people.
6:19 Yeah, we had to work through it. We played a lot of universities and colleges and we had to get special license and all kinds of stuff and a two. But it worked out.
6:27 Adam And when did you do-
6:28 Drew Was it immediately in this country or was it?
6:30 No, in England.
6:31 Adam And then when did you get over to the, when did you do your tour in the States? What was your first year over here?
6:36 Bow Wow Wow Oh, we were on MTV. I think that was the first video we had out here, wasn't it?
6:39 Bow Wow Wow 81. Wow.
6:41 Adam 81.
6:43 Bow Wow Wow Last year.
6:44 Adam I was just starting my career in carpet cleaning in 81, Drew.
6:47 Drew Had you yet? Had you?
6:48 Adam No, probably just dreaming of cleaning carpet at that point. Yeah.
6:53 Interesting euphemisms.
6:54 Adam All right, so Bow Wow Wow with Adrian from No Doubt are back together and going on how large a tour? I mean, I know you have dates out here, but are you going across the country?
7:09 Bow Wow Wow Well, if people want to see us, we're sure we'll do that. Well, at the moment, we're just doing some one-off shows and just kind of getting the taste again to see if we can do it. Because we're a little bit older than we were before, as you've already mentioned and pointed out very abruptly, may I add.
7:25 Adam Yeah, but like I said, when you get started at nine, this is the time you probably, this is about the age you would have been in your, the band would have been together for three years if you were a normal.
7:34 Bow Wow Wow I don't think a lot of people are aware of us. I mean, there's a new generation, there's a couple of new generations, I think, since we were around. So I think it's all about, always has been, it's about the fans, if people want to see us and catch up.
7:46 Well, they seem to. I mean, we did the K-Rock show a month and a bit ago and it seemed to go very well. I think we can still deliver.
7:53 Bow Wow Wow Inland invasion.
7:53 Especially with Adrian giving us a hand here.
7:55 Adam Well, yeah, I mean, do you feel like you're better musicians or better people or better, I mean, now most people do feel better at stuff at 40 than they did at 14, you know what I mean?
8:08 Able to cope with it, definitely. But physically, maybe not.
8:11 Bow Wow Wow I was just saying, unless you're playing sports.
8:13 Adam Yeah, that's true.
8:14 Bow Wow Wow I just came from a basketball game and my legs are gone.
8:18 Adam Mark Messier playing was like scored his 18 million goal last night and it's, you guys, 24th season of hockey or something. But hockey's like Bow Wow Wow and get started young. Anyway, they're going to be at the House of Blues in Anaheim on the 29th of this month, November. And then going to be at the Hollywood Racetrack out here again in Southern California on November 14th. So the 14th and the 29th out here. We'll go to phones, take some calls. We'll hear some Bow Wow Wow before the night is through. Kelly? You're 20? What's up?
8:57 Caller First, can I ask kind of a silly question to you, Adam?
9:00 Adam Yeah.
9:01 Caller What is Mahalo that you say every night?
9:04 Adam Mahalo. Mahalo is basically the companion to or the opposite of Aloha.
9:12 Drew It's thank you as opposed to goodbye.
9:14 Adam Yeah, but it's thank you and everything else.
9:18 Drew Like everybody else in Hawaii, each word has 47 meanings.
9:20 Adam Hawaiians are extraordinarily lazy people linguistically. And so what they do is they invent one word that means like 30 or 40 different things and then they don't have to focus on such a large vocabulary.
9:31 Drew Surprisingly, from Seattle, would you think she'd be just running to Hawaii whenever she could? But be that as it may, when you go to Hawaii on every trash can and the billboard of every McDonald's and when you get off the plane, Mahalo, everywhere is Mahalo. And yet strangely, not until Adam brought it to the mainland had anybody ever heard of it here.
9:48 Adam Thank you. What's up, Kelly? You have a question?
9:52 Caller About two years ago, I had a really crazy time with, like I would go to parties and I would sometimes have sex with two guys in the same night. I was into doing white drugs and finally ended with my dad telling me to go to rehab.
10:10 Drew What's a white drug?
10:12 Caller Like cocaine, crystal meth.
10:16 Drew I've never heard of it referred to as white drugs, but I'm always open to it.
10:20 Adam Heroin's white, right?
10:21 Caller Okay, no heroin, no.
10:22 Adam Okay, it's a white drug.
10:24 Drew Stimulants.
10:25 Adam Okay, so sex with two separate guys in one party.
10:29 Caller In one party, yeah.
10:31 Adam Wow.
10:32 Caller All right.
10:33 Caller That happened a lot actually. So I went to rehab and then I stayed sober for about three months after that. And then I tried to commit suicide after that three months of being sober. And then like after that I just really changed my life. I went to the hospital and I just kind of decided that I wanted to change. And it's been like a year and a half now and I'm completely different. But I'm just wondering where all that came from because I have no background of abuse.
11:04 Drew Were you diagnosed with bipolar illness?
11:07 Caller No, I take so often now.
11:09 Drew But they never used the term bipolar?
11:12 Caller No.
11:13 Adam So where did all your crazy abusive energy come from?
11:16 Caller Yeah, it was really out of control.
11:18 Drew A lot of that may just be addict behavior. You're a drug addict.
11:21 Adam You're into them white drugs.
11:22 Drew Yeah, so it could all be related to that. On the other hand, it usually, when addiction gets to that point and when those behaviors are becoming that destructive, usually there's something else there, neglect or trauma, something, something else.
11:37 Adam Well, once in a while, there's a young pioneer like yourself that just takes the lead and screws yourself up without any past abuse.
11:45 Drew But it doesn't have to be wholesale abuse. Were you neglected growing up at all?
11:49 Caller My mom is on her fourth marriage. That's pretty much like the work. My dad has 13 years of sobriety. He was an alcoholic.
11:58 Drew Okay, but he was an addict when you were zero to seven. Yeah. And your mom, this marriage blew apart. Your mom sounds like she's got some issues. So yeah, that's highly traumatizing.
12:09 Adam Well, not by our standards.
12:11 Drew Not by Loveline's standards, but by the human brain standard that will really give you a good dose of trauma.
12:16 Adam Yeah. All right, a little acting out. I got out of her system. Nothing wrong. She's back now. Off the white drugs and the two guys. See, that's why I envy women. They can go to a party and have sex with two guys.
12:31 Drew Or whatever.
12:31 Or whatever they want.
12:33 Adam It doesn't even have to be a party. Just open the front door and announce that there's a sex party that's going to be starting in the limer. They just go do it. They govern themselves pretty good for the most part. But if they want to go off, they could go off. Guy, I mean, I guess guy could.
12:49 Drew No.
12:50 Bow Wow Wow Doesn't that depend on the woman?
12:53 Adam What do you mean? Oh, yeah. You mean the type of woman?
12:56 Drew No. Well, here's the thing. Are you generalizing?
12:59 Adam No, no.
13:00 Drew You're generalizing.
13:01 Adam Just a little.
13:01 Drew But I was generalizing. Any woman could do that.
13:05 Adam Any woman could do that. Some would have an easier time and get a higher caliber of guy.
13:10 Drew Right. But there is no man that can do that.
13:12 Adam Not really.
13:13 Drew No, not the way a woman could.
13:15 Adam No. I imagine if you were A-list male celebrity and you went to some, you know, flop house for unwed moms or something and really tried to scoop up some woman.
13:29 Drew There is no man that can open the front door.
13:31 Adam And just announce for having a sex party. You may be right. Brandy?
13:39 Caller Uh-huh.
13:40 Adam You're 24?
13:41 Caller No, I'm 20.
13:42 Adam Oh, you're 20.
13:43 Caller Yeah. That's okay. First, I have to say that I am, this is totally cool because I used to have the hugest crush on Adrian when they first came out. And so this is- That's what I'm talking about. I actually dated a guy that looked exactly like you, and it was utter heaven. Not the real thing, but close. Wow. Yeah.
14:02 Caller So you phoned up about your eyesight problem then?
14:13 Caller Anyways, guys, my question pretty much is, about three weeks ago, my deadbeat ex-boyfriend broke up with me, and just kind of packed up it. We were living together here, and just packed up his stuff and just left. No explanation. Nothing. Since then, little bits and pieces of why he's left and who he really was has come out, and pretty much my only reaction to that was not really much to deal with it. I kind of put it aside, been going out, met this guy, and I mean, total hottie, but completely boring to talk to. The first night I met him, I ended up sleeping with him, which is not, which is uncharacteristic of me. It really is. I don't, that's not something I would do. I think it's just pretty much I was hurting. I knew my boyfriend was out, my ex-boyfriend was out that night, so I jumped into the sack of the bed.
15:02 Drew By the way, who was it your ex-boyfriend turned out to be?
15:05 Caller Well, pretty much we were together like seven or eight months. I will be the first to tell you that we rushed into moving together because we didn't really much know each other.
15:13 Drew It pretty much is similar to right now, I guess, it's another.
15:15 Caller I found things out about him. He would leave his email up and there would be letters from girls from porno sites. It turned out that he had an ad on a porno website. I mean, he pretty much swore up and down that he had nothing to do with it and he orchestrated this whole email pretending to be a friend of his saying that he had set up the ad.
15:39 Caller And little bits and pieces later, I find out what the ad said.
15:42 Caller Well, pretty much his ad was like, hey, ladies, looking for fun, dirty, erotic, a cat, stuff like that. And I mean, here I am completely enamored by this guy and I'm going to spend part of not the rest of my life, but a part of my life with them by moving in with them.
15:59 Drew And where did he end up going? Where did he go?
16:01 Caller Well, he had moved to be here with me from Arizona. And then he moved.
16:06 Drew I cannot answer a question.
16:07 Adam Well, pretty much where he had come from.
16:10 Drew Where did he end up?
16:11 Adam Well, listen, let me explain. Let me tell you how to find out where he went. You know how, don't you? No. Ask where he came from. You see? So I'm going to use this reverse psychology. Brandy? Where did he come from?
16:26 Caller He came and went to Arizona.
16:31 Drew Well done.
16:32 Adam All right, so he pretty much went to Arizona.
16:36 Drew Yeah. Pretty much right now.
16:37 Adam Right now, he pretty much went to Arizona, and right now you're pretty much having sex with a guy that you don't really care that much about.
16:44 Caller No, but I think, I mean...
16:46 Drew Pretty much, what's your question?
16:47 Caller What my question is, is that, like, he continues to call me or whatever, and I've tried to put it to him as blunt as I can that I'm not really into him, that pretty much it's just a sex thing, and he doesn't seem to be getting it. I mean, how much more clear can I make it to this guy?
17:01 Drew I think maybe he's just calling you to have more sex.
17:04 Caller Well, he asked me to go out on dates and stuff, and I don't know, like, my question is how much more do I, how do I tell him that that's all I want, and, too, you know, is it healthy for me to be doing that? Because pretty much when I'm having sex with him, it's not like I'm not having fun, but in the back of my mind, I always think, well, Jesus is showing my ex-boyfriend I can do 50 times more better than him.
17:27 Bow Wow Wow I would suggest that any time it starts to get complicated and that all you want is the sex, as soon as it gets complicated, back out and stop it immediately.
17:35 Drew Yeah, but it's already complicated. She's saying that in her mind, all she's thinking about is the sex is sort of a resentment sex towards the director of the ex-boyfriend.
17:45 Bow Wow Wow But you're not past that point yet? You're still doing it at a resent?
17:49 Caller Well, yeah. I mean, he just, you know, we had those talks every once in a while. Like, if, you know, if he was happy here, did he want to stay here?
17:56 Drew And he was always the answer is no, she hasn't gotten over it yet. That's the answer.
18:01 Caller I mean, pretty much, you know, he pretty much Randy has trouble answering a single question.
18:05 Adam I was thinking about Brandy saying in the back of her mind, I don't know.
18:10 Caller Is there a back?
18:10 Adam No, there is a back. There's no middle. It's just boom, boom. It's like a sheet of paper. There's nothing in between the front. Yep. Between the engine and the caboose. No cars. Right, right, right up against each other. All right.
18:25 Drew So, Brandy, listen, it's fine that you are having some sort of relationship with this guy that helps you feel better in the moment, but it sounds like also something that's going to kind of grind you down. You're not really into it and go out and find something that's more meaningful.
18:39 Adam All right, look, read a book and listen to some classical music or better yet, some Bow Wow Wow and take some long walks.
18:46 Drew Thank God you found out who this guy really is that's moved to Arizona. You're done.
18:51 Adam Yeah. Let me say this. Let me make this observation. We're talking about what women can do and what guys can do and, you know, I did only knew one guy who could really do what a woman does with men. He was able just to go out and grab them whenever he wanted. Girls like him. Drew, quite down over there. Would you please? Here's my point. He never had any that much emotional growth because he would always just drown himself in women whenever something was going wrong in his life. And Brandy sounds like one of these girls who she's probably attractive. We know she's young and she's probably alluring. And whenever anything goes wrong, she just goes hops, hops on a guy, sort of drowns her sorrows and guys and then subsequently stays in a sort of holding pattern emotionally because she never really gets that downtime you need to grow. You know, relationship ends. You need six months to sort of walk and think and skip rocks on the pond and stuff. And she's just hopping on guys. I don't think there's any growth there. And I don't know how you don't do it if you can do it because if I could have done it, I would have done it too. Know what I'm saying?
19:59 Drew I'm sorry you couldn't have done that, Adam.
20:01 Adam I'm saying if I could have. I know.
20:02 Drew I'm sorry you couldn't have.
20:03 Adam Oh, you're sorry.
20:04 Drew I'm sorry for you. I know it feels bad.
20:06 Adam I could now though, I think.
20:08 Drew No.
20:09 Adam Come on.
20:09 Bow Wow Wow So much easier said than done.
20:11 Drew Yeah.
20:12 Adam Hey, Loveline, come on, baby. Man show. Come on.
20:19 Bow Wow Wow Talking about love, I mean, I was going to ask Brandy actually, I mean, how did it make her feel when she was having sex with someone that she didn't really want to be having sex with?
20:27 Drew Well, she said all she kept thinking was about the resentment, how this was showing her ex-boyfriend. And that felt good.
20:33 Bow Wow Wow Well, but that's like revenging him, but really she's hurting herself.
20:38 Drew That's right.
20:39 Bow Wow Wow And ultimately, I think if you have deep feelings for somebody that you've split up with for whatever reason, everyone needs time to heal, like anything in life. I would say just be good to yourself, Brandy, and take time to heal and don't prostitute yourself, honey. You're too good. No, but you need time to kind of look within and find out what it really is that you desire and talking about love on this love line, it's important to remember that's what it's all about.
21:12 Adam I'd like to be on the, I'd like to be the, I never got to be the guy who was on the winning end of the Vengeance F, you know what I mean? Like, hey, you're slob, you're way below my normal guy, but you know what? It's going to piss this guy off that much more to find out I was with a freak like you. Never got to be that guy.
21:32 Drew Even though you were on the running for that guy, never actually got to be him.
21:36 Adam No.
21:37 Drew That's the worst of all possible.
21:38 Adam Yeah, I made a cut. I got down a final like 27.
21:40 Drew One of the creepy guys that she would ever be with.
21:45 Adam We got Anabella and Lee and Adrian here all from Bow Wow Wow. Well, Adrian's no doubt, but he's going to be sitting in with Bow Wow Wow for a couple of sessions out here in Los Angeles in middle of November, end of November. Give you more information about that. We'll hear a song. We'll do all that after this.
22:03 Caller Hello, this is your radio. Loveline will be ready.
22:20 Drew Hey, it's Loveline.
22:22 Adam You all right, Anna?
22:24 Drew You're not like that. Phone number here is 1-800-LOVE-191. Bow Wow Wow is the guest. And should we go right to the phones?
22:32 Adam All right, let's wait for Anabella to finish her thing.
22:35 Drew Oh, I'm sorry. I remember I said not to...
22:38 Adam You never notice when they're doing it, though. Yeah, think about that, Drew. I never know. No, you couldn't. No, you guys are way too far apart, right? You wouldn't be able to tell. It's never happened before. You had no way, no. It's just on the other side of the room, it's never happened, right? It's impossible.
22:58 Drew Thank you for reading my attention.
23:00 You know what's great, Adam?
23:02 Caller I knew exactly what was going on.
23:03 Caller Did you hear me yell, questionnaire?
23:05 Drew No, I couldn't hear what you said.
23:06 I'm a questionnaire.
23:07 Drew I did hear what you said, but if I had, that would have been a good thing.
23:09 Adam Well, you'll know, cause I won't say anything. But it's just, I wish there was some way we could figure out a way to do it, Anderson, since it's impossible. It can't be done. You guys know what we're talking about. But then let's go. Oh, I could get into it for bad. All right. I always, okay.
23:27 Bow Wow Wow Need some more coffee in here, guys.
23:31 Adam Dere. There's no way you could know. You can't see what's going on. Right?
23:35 Drew If I'd seen it, I would have stopped it.
23:36 Adam Yeah, you can't see.
23:37 Drew But had I seen it, I would have stopped it.
23:39 Adam Yeah, I know. It's impossible. And it's never happened. Has it not talked about it before?
23:43 Drew Yeah, I'm sorry.
23:44 Adam It's just it can't be done, right? You do everything humanly possible. It just can't, stuff happens, right? It's like we're getting this argument every week. Yeah, it was. Every week I yell at him about this. They're for now.
24:03 Just for comedy.
24:06 Adam Drew, seriously, really? This is it with you? This is the end?
24:10 Drew Must be. It must be. I'm certainly trying.
24:14 Adam You're not trying. Absolutely, you're not.
24:17 Bow Wow Wow Hey, do you think Kobe's gonna go down?
24:18 Drew I don't want to make them guess feel bad by describing to them what I went over with them before we started. You're putting them in a very bad position.
24:25 Oh, I do it every time.
24:27 Adam We do it every time.
24:27 Drew Well, stop doing that to the guests. You yell at me off the air.
24:31 I'm not yelling at you off the air.
24:32 Caller That's fine.
24:34 You do it every time.
24:35 Drew What did I not do to them? What did I not tell them this time?
24:38 You never tell them to put the pen down.
24:40 Drew At the moment the show is starting, but before I coach.
24:43 I know, and then they ride into the thing and you just look at them every time.
24:46 Drew Had it been 15 seconds in or 20 seconds in? We did. Yeah, those guys put it in. Of course you did.
24:54 Adam This is no way you could see. All right. You guys did nothing wrong. I'm yelling at Drew, believe me. And I know it sounds insane, but he does this on a weekly basis. That's why I'm yelling at Drew.
25:05 Caller It doesn't sound insane at all.
25:07 Adam Yeah, and I always just, what I end up doing is I end up looking at the guests to see if they put their pen down. And then I look at Drew to see if he sees something and he never says anything. And then he goes, what do you want me to do? I couldn't tell.
25:19 Drew Didn't see it.
25:19 Adam Didn't see it.
25:20 Drew Didn't see it. But your impression is I saw it, what was somehow not willing to intervene.
25:25 Of course, of course.
25:26 Drew That's bizarre, Adam. I'm being...
25:28 That's bizarre. What do you know about psychology? You're sitting 33 inches away from Anabella. She's writing with a pen and we get this argument every week. You didn't see it? Had you seen it?
25:38 Bow Wow Wow Is it time for call?
25:39 Bow Wow Wow This would be a good time to fart.
25:41 Drew So your belief is... Of course you saw it. Your belief is that I'm somehow seeing it and going, oh, good, she's still writing. No, no, no. Good, good, good.
25:50 Adam You see it and you're so far away from reality that you won't intervene. That's what I'm saying.
25:57 Drew Don't see it, Adam.
25:58 Adam How can you not see it?
25:59 She's sitting right in front of you.
26:01 Caller She was adjusting her jumper, I think. Do we have a time thing with these?
26:03 Adam Oh, Jesus Christ.
26:05 Drew It's unthinkable to me that I wouldn't mention it if I saw it, because why would I want to get into this? Adam, Adam, you always say, what's in it for me?
26:14 Adam What's in it for me?
26:16 What is in it for me?
26:18 Drew What's in it for me?
26:19 Adam What's in it for me? These goddamn questionnaires have been filling out for two years.
26:24 God damn it.
26:27 Drew So, there's nothing in it for you? That's why you're pissed off?
26:29 Adam Here's the argument.
26:30 Caller You say you don't see it. Of course you see it.
26:33 Adam The person is sitting 42 inches in front of you, and it's broad daylight in here. Of course you physically see it. You do not react to it because you choose not to react to it. Not consciously, there's something going on on a subconscious level with you that doesn't enable you to react.
26:49 Drew What's in it for me? What's in it for me? What's in it?
26:51 Adam If you don't see this, you shouldn't be driving a car.
26:53 Drew What's in it for me? What? What's in it for me?
26:56 Caller I don't know.
26:57 Drew That's what I'm trying to get to. Help me understand what there could possibly be in it for me.
27:05 Adam Drew, you see Anabella filling the thing out.
27:07 Caller Of course you see it.
27:08 Drew Okay, I see it. Now, what is it in for me?
27:10 Adam Well, you see me?
27:13 Caller I see you.
27:15 Drew I see her when I look over there and notice that it's happening. I'm really tiny.
27:18 Bow Wow Wow I'm a short ass. You can't really see very much of me at all.
27:23 Caller What's in it for me, Anderson?
27:24 Adam Let's replay this exact argument we had last week.
27:26 Drew But what's in it for me, as you always say, if there's nothing in it for me, what could the motivation be?
27:31 Adam What the motivation, let me explain. The motivation, I'm sorry this is happening. Guys, go get a beer. What's in it for you is your overwhelming desire for them to finish this in as fast a time as possible, which is a key component that you have.
27:46 Drew That you have in a good space. It's true I have that.
27:49 Adam And when something gets, when a switch gets flicked on, like it's time to start filling something out or completing a task, you don't want to flip that switch off. So, because you have an unyielding desire not to flip that switch down, you don't, things don't register when you see them. That's what I'm saying.
28:06 Drew Yeah? Why would I want to get into this fight with you? Why would I want to do that to you?
28:09 Adam Well, let me ask you this. Why would you not see somebody doing something they repeatedly do in a well-lit room from just a few feet?
28:16 Drew Because it doesn't bother me. I'm not realizing it. I'm thinking about the show. I'm thinking about getting into it and focusing on what we're gonna do next.
28:23 Adam I'm thinking about the show, you'd be thinking about the guests being distracted with your paperwork when the lights go on.
28:29 Drew If I looked over and saw them, then I'd say, I told you not to do that.
28:31 Adam If you looked over and saw them, they'd sit in front of you, Drew. Really? All right, Drew, just think about why you don't see them. Why don't you see them?
28:39 Caller She's got jangly janglies on.
28:42 Bow Wow Wow I've always got jangly janglies on.
28:44 Adam And you do see them, why doesn't it register? That's the question. That's what you need to ask yourself.
28:49 Caller It's interesting because you guys have been working together a long time. Sometimes when you work together a long time, you know, you fall out over silly things.
28:56 Adam Oh, I know.
28:58 Caller I'm saying that's the silly thing.
29:00 Drew I might start yelling at you.
29:01 Caller Yeah.
29:02 Caller I could cope.
29:03 Adam No, the thing is...
29:04 Caller It is silly. It's silly.
29:06 Adam We have these arguments all the time. They don't mean anything. It's just you got to understand this...
29:11 Caller But I think it's just a function of you guys just working together next to each other for years and years and years.
29:15 Adam Oh, no. Listen, we don't care. This means nothing. No, we'll go to the bathroom and cross swords in four or five minutes. We do this all the time. I'm just yelling it through because...
29:25 Drew It feels good. I feel awake now.
29:26 Adam He's been plaguing me with these questionnaires for two years now, two years it's been going on. It's really... You know what the scientific study is? How long is it going to take me to drive Adam Carolla crazy?
29:42 Caller He's onto me.
29:43 Drew That's my motivation.
29:45 Adam That's what it is.
29:46 Caller He killed himself.
29:48 Adam All right. He killed himself and it only took 1800 copies of this mock document for them to fill out.
29:57 Drew Carpenter question. I think you'll feel better. All right.
30:00 Adam We have a carpenter question. We're going to calm me down. Lisa? You're 18? What's up?
30:07 Caller My dad is a carpenter and he was in an accident at work today. And so it got me thinking, I wonder if Adam was ever in any accidents when he was a carpenter.
30:17 Adam I mean, I said...
30:17 Drew Well, that's what he tells the ladies anyway. There was a...
30:20 Adam Well, the wall was coming down on a group of retarded carpenters we had hired from the home and I had to slide in there and push him to safety. Of course, I was trapped under the wall. Now, I was on some crappy scaffolding doing a stucco job in Silver Lake and it busted and I fell down the house.
30:38 Drew You had a heavy like equipment too at the time.
30:40 Adam As a skill saw with a carburundum blade on it. That worm drive though, the big ones, you know what I'm saying, fellas? Anyway, you guys like to bear when you're arguing.
30:49 Drew They're excited for a minute there.
30:54 Adam Fell off some scaffolding and landed on us. You know the cement stairs that go down the side of a hill house? One cheek, one ass cheek on the step, the other one in the air. Yeah, that sucked. Alright. Are you alright there, Lisa? What happened to your dad?
31:09 Caller It sounds like pain. He was working up high on a ladder and he hung his hammer up on one of the ladder ring things and then he would go in to move the ladder later, forgot about the hammer and it fell on him from like eight feet, hit him in the knee.
31:22 Caller His head? Is he alright?
31:25 Caller Yeah.
31:26 Adam Not that your dad's old, but seems like half the people I hear about when their 60 something year old dad gets hurt or in a coma or something, falling off a ladder. There's something about when you get older, you want to get on a ladder because I don't know what it is. You have to clean out the gutters. You got to adjust the antenna, whatever it is, but as soon as you retire, you want to climb on a ladder and then you immediately fall off.
31:50 Drew Or get on blood thinners. The only patient on blood thinners is when they climb up a ladder.
31:54 Adam Oh, really? Oh, yeah. You have a little bit of that blood there and you get a little lightheaded?
31:58 Drew No. They just, I don't know. Maybe something about the blood thinner makes the impulse to climb a ladder seem much more forceful. And then they fall a tiny distance and bleed buckets.
32:08 Adam Yeah. That's nice. Or they do something weird like a friend of mine found her dad in the pool. Like he whacked her head on the thing and they fell. Yeah. Good time. So, I mean, you know. I want to go by extension ladder or A-frame ladder. My dad said A-frame, I'm going extension ladder. Let's all plan on having a scaffolding accident at some point in our lives. James?
32:32 Yeah.
32:33 Adam You're 18?
32:34 Caller That's correct.
32:35 Adam What's up?
32:37 Caller Me and my girlfriend, we were wondering, she just had her. Just you were wondering, right?
32:43 Drew Yes, we were wondering.
32:44 Caller We were wondering if she had a C-section no more than a week ago. And there's a standard six weeks no sex, right?
32:51 Drew Right.
32:52 Caller And I was wondering, can she get pregnant right after that six weeks is up?
32:57 Drew Yeah, she could. Is she breastfeeding?
32:59 Caller Yes, she is.
33:01 Drew That makes it less likely, but it's possible.
33:04 Caller Yeah, it's really nice when she's giving you a hug and it kind of leaks in your shirt.
33:09 Adam The breast milk?
33:10 Caller Yeah.
33:12 Drew What does that have to do with you guys having sex in six weeks? It's nice and coffee. Let's talk to your wife.
33:22 Adam You kids sound like you're going to go on forever, by the way, and that kid's real. You're going to be the next president.
33:27 Caller Yeah, but she's a little premature, though.
33:30 Adam The kid?
33:32 Caller Yeah.
33:33 Adam Well, how premature was she?
33:36 Caller She was born October 30th, and her due date was in late January.
33:42 Drew Is she home?
33:44 Caller No, she's in an incubator in the NICU.
33:48 Adam And what's the prognosis? What do they think?
33:53 Caller Her lungs aren't fully developed.
33:55 Drew Yeah. Is she going to make it? She going to make it?
33:59 Caller Yeah.
34:00 Drew They expect you to make it?
34:01 Adam Yeah. All right. James sounds like he's going to be a dynamite, yeah. All right, buddy. Keep our fingers crossed.
34:08 Also, Adam, you are...
34:10 Adam Yeah. All right. And something good is going to come out. Oh, I'm sure. I got mixed feelings about the kid getting out of the incubator. I don't want to sound morbid, but for the kid's sake. You know what I mean?
34:20 Bow Wow Wow Is the Scorpio baby going to survive?
34:24 Adam I kind of hope like.
34:25 Drew By the way, no babies die during the Scorpio astrological cycle. Oh, really?
34:29 Adam Scorpio baby?
34:30 Drew They all survive. 100%. Throughout the world.
34:32 Adam All right. I don't even know why they're giving him medical attention.
34:36 Drew Yeah, just take him out of the incubator.
34:37 Adam Save some money. It's the Scorpio baby. Unplug it.
34:40 Drew Come on.
34:40 Adam Wrap him in some foil and send him home.
34:43 Bow Wow Wow I know.
34:43 Adam I didn't know he was a durable Scorpio baby. I'm Gemini. What's that mean?
34:49 Bow Wow Wow There's too many of you.
34:50 Adam Too many? Is there a lot of Gemini's?
34:53 Drew There's double whatever there are.
34:54 Adam Oh, I see. We're twins. We're twins. What are you, Drew?
34:59 Drew Virgo.
35:00 Adam You're Virgo. Drew's a Virgo. That's a passionate man right there, right? Man of extreme passion?
35:09 Bow Wow Wow I can't comment on that. I haven't actually known a Virgo in that way.
35:13 Adam What are their traits? You and Adrian, you're practically the same guy.
35:20 Bow Wow Wow Shook up hair in the middle.
35:21 Caller Yeah, just a red mohawk.
35:24 Bow Wow Wow That must be the likeness, yeah.
35:25 Drew What are we supposed to be like? Super organized but super messy at the same time.
35:30 Bow Wow Wow Picky.
35:30 Drew Picky.
35:31 Adam Oh, picky. Oh, fussy.
35:33 Drew No onions.
35:35 Adam Don? You're 22? Let me guess your sign, baby.
35:41 Caller Go ahead.
35:42 Adam Capricorn? Libra?
35:48 Caller No.
35:49 Adam Virgo?
35:50 Caller No.
35:50 Adam Pisces?
35:52 Caller No.
35:52 Drew Cancer?
35:53 Adam Cancer.
35:55 Caller No.
36:00 Adam I tell you, man, it's like some weird gift.
36:02 Caller It's weird.
36:07 Drew How do you do that? That is a gift.
36:10 Adam It's like, I just tune in and I could, like, I can just get into their wavelength, you know?
36:15 Caller Because you're a sidekick.
36:17 Adam You can't explain when a person has that kind of gift, you know? Yeah, I can't teach it to you guys.
36:24 Drew No.
36:25 Adam I mean, I could. I imagine.
36:26 Drew Aren't you hearing voices from dead people telling you that?
36:29 Adam Yeah, I could probably get you guys to get somewhere in the nine to fourteen guess range, but you could never crack the eight. I mean, you know. And I consistently will get it in under ten. Consistently.
36:41 Drew Ten guesses.
36:42 Adam Yeah, under ten guesses.
36:44 Drew Of course, you know, we shouldn't call it guesses. Ten offerings.
36:47 Adam Ten offerings. Yeah. Again, I'm just the conduit in which this passes through. I don't. It's not me. Yeah. Yeah. You want me to. You have a boyfriend? You're married. Your husband. I'll guess his sign too. Libra.
37:08 Caller Is it anything?
37:10 Caller What kind of broad are you?
37:11 Adam You don't know your husband's sign?
37:14 Caller I'm not into that stuff really.
37:16 Adam How do you guys know if you're compatible or not?
37:18 Caller Well, we're as compatible as you and Dr. Drew.
37:23 Adam I heard that. Well, all right. So, you know, you know, he's not a Libra, but what's the question? Virgo. That was that. That would have been my ninth or tenth guess.
37:35 Drew How ironic is. Yeah. How ironic is that? Annabelle's pointing at you and me. Virgo.
37:42 Adam Yeah. Hey, Don.
37:44 Drew Thus, they get along the same way.
37:46 Adam Don, what's going on? What's you got a heroin problem?
37:49 Caller Well, when I was 18, I started doing heroin and when I was 20, I went to rehab and cleaned up and I was doing like the 12 step thing for a while and like here in the past few months, I haven't like really been feeling that I relate to those people and like think that maybe that I'm not an addict.
38:10 Drew No, make no mistake about it. You're an addict. You may not be in the same stage of your disease as they are, but you're an addict.
38:17 Adam You're always an addict. That's it.
38:18 Drew Well, it's really an activation of the biology, a unique activation of the biology of the drive centers in the brain that change the motivational priorities in the brain and you will forever have that drive sort of sort of drifting around and it can be reactivated, reawakened very easily.
38:40 Adam What's how things going with your husband?
38:45 Drew We love being married. You keep relationship with the sponsor going. You really got to be if you're thinking may get off track somewhere along the way here and that's the disease coming coming to life again.
38:57 Adam And what what's your husband into? Is he doing drugs? Anymore?
39:03 Drew Don't touch that panadabella. Careful.
39:04 Caller Don't pot like when you're younger but.
39:07 Adam What's he? Is he in one of the trades? What's his job? Longhorn?
39:15 Caller That's it.
39:16 Adam I thought Texas A&M. All right, Don. What's his birthday? Do you know? All right, good. Just checking. All right, we'll we'll talk. I'm talking about a year, right?
39:31 Drew All right. No drinking, no drugs, Don. You can reactivate things very easily.
39:35 Caller I've been having a couple of drinks lately and it's been a big deal.
39:39 Drew It will be. It will be. I promise.
39:42 Adam Don't do that, Don. I'll call you in about a year. All right. Good times. All right. Come on, Drew. Let's whiz together. Bow Wow Wow. Here tonight.
39:56 Drew As long as we get back.
39:56 Adam We'll hear a song along with Adrian from No Doubt, of course. We'll take a quick whiz.
40:01 Caller We'll be right back. Loveline.
40:04 Caller Wait. My hair.
40:10 Caller Loveline on 94.7 NRK.
40:13 Caller We'll be right back in a minute.
40:28 Caller Hey, everybody, it's Loveline and Adam.
40:29 Adam That's Dr. Drew, phone number 1-800-L-O-V-E-1-9-1. See, I could see you do that, Drew.
40:36 Caller I have great peripheral vision.
40:40 Drew Your point is that it doesn't bother me.
40:42 Adam Drew has a point, everybody. Oh, Anderson, I wish you were here, buddy. Boy, would we talk about Drew. Iana Bell is here. Lee is here from Bow Wow Wow. And Adrian from No Doubt Now from Bow Wow Wow is here. Going to be playing a few dates with the band, like November 29th at the House of Blues in Anaheim and on the 14th of November at the Hollywood Racetrack. And also on the 15th at the House of Blues with Cheryl Crow and many others on a jam night to... What is that benefit? No, it's right in front of me. Benefits.
41:18 Drew Who does it benefit? Grammy Foundation.
41:21 Bow Wow Wow It's PS Arts and the Grammy Foundation. And they're doing this huge benefit show with legendary artists and special guests in order to raise money for this charity. It's been going 13 years.
41:36 Drew Charitable Tourists.
41:37 Adam Don't worry about it, Drew. The money's going to the right place.
41:39 Bow Wow Wow Yeah, it's a community school. It's an underprivileged kids, you know, in music and arts.
41:44 Bow Wow Wow All right.
41:44 Bow Wow Wow For 13 odd years, guys, I'm surprised you haven't heard of it. It's jam night.
41:48 Bow Wow Wow We're here. We're here.
41:49 Caller It's to fund the music and arts in the public schools of America.
41:53 Bow Wow Wow I'll sit.
41:53 Adam I'll sit in. I got that hollered out fish. I like the bust out every once in a while.
41:58 Drew What could happen to students who study at these schools?
42:01 Adam Well, they get hooked on drugs, a spiral in a drug.
42:05 Caller They can get hooked on something positive like music.
42:07 Adam And then the drugs, then the drugs kick in. All right, let's hear a song. Well, I mean, it's a tale you hear so often. It's sad, but true. You don't hear about the other, you know, guys that are working in an auto shop getting hooked on drugs like the musicians.
42:22 Drew That never happens.
42:22 Bow Wow Wow Anyway, it's a really good cause.
42:24 Adam It's a good cause.
42:24 Bow Wow Wow It's a very good cause bringing artists together to help restore music and arts education in public schools.
42:28 Adam Well, let's hear a song from Bow Wow Wow. Now, is this one is, I don't have the CD in front of me. Is this Eastern Promise?
42:36 Bow Wow Wow Yep. It's called Eastern Promise.
42:37 Adam And here.
42:38 Bow Wow Wow It's a newie.
42:39 Adam Oh, here it is. Something new from Bow Wow Wow. Lee's playing the electric sitar in that, yeah?
46:21 Bow Wow Wow And guitar.
46:22 Adam And the guitar. Very versatile. Bow Wow Wow is in studio tonight. If you want to find out anything about the band dates, anything like that, just go to bowwowwow.org. All right, Adrian is also here. You know him, of course, from No Doubt. And we'll take a quick break. When we come back, we can talk to Drew Carey.
46:45 Drew Yeah, or get a Florida or Germany question.
46:48 Adam Oh, we may play some Florida or Germany. Oh, this is huge. I beg your pardon, please. Let's get it straight. Alright, we'll be right back after this.
47:00 Bow Wow Wow Okay, so I know there's nothing wrong with me. So what's up?
47:06 But I tried everything else and thought, what the hell?
47:12 Caller Believe it or not, other normal people are out there looking too.
47:14 Drew 877-889-DATE.
47:57 Adam Hey yo, it's Loveline. I'm Adam. That's Dr. Drew. Annabelle is here tonight. Lee is here. Adrian is here tonight. All representing Bow Wow Wow. Tomorrow night, we got Tenacious D. There's some good times. Oh, yeah. And who else is in that band? Well, just Kyle Gass. That's pretty much the main guy over there, yeah?
48:21 Drew Yeah, it must be him.
48:22 Adam That's the guy.
48:24 Drew Oh, yeah, Jack Black.
48:25 Adam Jack Black's in there too somewhere. Those two guys will be in here tomorrow night. And then Robert Smygall's coming in here. He does Triumph, the insult comic dog who's on Conan all the time and hysterical. Wants to smell your poop. You ever see a dog, Drew? You guys know the dog?
48:43 Bow Wow Wow Don't they also do Ambiguously Gay Duo?
48:46 Adam Yeah, they do all the stuff for, they do all the animation for Saturday Night Live. Robert Smygall, like a wonderfully creative funny comic. And Lincoln Park, Cypress Hill and Papa Roach. None of which are funny actually, but the good bands coming in here.
49:02 Drew Cypress Hill, a little bit.
49:03 Adam Little bit funny, yeah, when they're really still.
49:04 Drew When they're hot, yeah.
49:06 Adam Yeah, which is all the time, so it means they're funny all the time. All right, so all that to look forward to next week. All right, now it's time to play Germany or Florida. Here's how it goes. Here's the way it works. All we figured out over at Jimmy Kimmel Live that all bizarre evil emanates from either Germany or Florida. And if you go on the internet and you find out all the stuff about guys teaching their dogs to hile Hitler and smoking their baby's placenta and stuff like that, it all either comes from Germany or Florida. Our job is to guess from where. Germany or Florida, hence the name of the game. Right, Anderson?
49:49 Caller That's right. Can I get these guys to sing in Germany or Florida? Cause that one's not working.
49:54 Adam Oh really, my Germany or Florida is not working?
49:56 Caller I mean, your voice is great, no, but I think you guys are professionals.
49:59 Adam I see.
50:00 Bow Wow Wow So let them play the game. If they like it, then let's have them voice one.
50:02 Adam All right, yeah, maybe Anabella can do a Germany or Florida. We get a good theme going. Anabella?
50:08 Bow Wow Wow That's good.
50:09 Adam Yeah, you can do that? Give us a little taste of.
50:12 Drew Maybe she can do it in German.
50:13 Adam We can sing Germany or Florida and.
50:16 Bow Wow Wow That's good. Is that okay?
50:18 Adam Yeah, yeah, but we have to get the title of the of the game in. You know what I'm saying?
50:22 Bow Wow Wow Okay, what's the title again?
50:31 Adam Yeah, that's the name of the. No, that's good. That's good. Let's do it one good clean shot. You ready, Anderson?
50:41 Drew Go.
50:46 Adam Yeah, that's strong.
50:50 Bow Wow Wow Something like that.
50:51 Adam I mean, mine was a nine and that was a 10. I think that's what we're talking about.
50:54 Drew No doubt.
50:56 Bow Wow Wow Germany or Florida.
50:58 Adam She's such a pro.
50:59 Caller Germany or Florida.
51:03 Adam All right.
51:04 Caller Okay, there's a law where you have to pay alimony to your wife whenever you get divorced. And not only do you have to keep paying if she remarries, but in September, an administrative judge ruled that if she dies, the ex-husband has to continue alimony to her widower.
51:22 Drew Oh, nice. That's Florida.
51:24 Adam Florida?
51:25 Caller Anything?
51:27 Adam I think Germany. Really?
51:28 Bow Wow Wow I don't know.
51:28 Adam Let's go on in the States here.
51:30 Bow Wow Wow I'm going Florida.
51:31 Adam Florida?
51:32 Caller Germany? It is Germany.
51:35 Drew All right.
51:35 Adam But listen.
51:36 Caller I have one more.
51:37 Drew All right, but don't jump in and tell us the answer until we've decided what we're deciding.
51:42 Caller Oh, I can barely hear you guys.
51:45 Drew We'll tell you when we want the right answer.
51:47 Adam Give us one more, Joe.
51:48 Caller All right. And see, there's a loophole in the welfare government where they keep paying the person even if they're living out of the state or country.
52:02 Drew Well said.
52:03 Adam All right. That says-
52:04 Drew Is that Germany again?
52:06 Caller I think that's Germany again.
52:07 Adam Germany again?
52:08 Caller It is Germany again.
52:12 Adam I'll tell you one thing about Joe. He learns a lesson. He's a quick study, this kid. Fool him once, shame on him. But twice, however it goes. The point is, is Joe's not gonna get lost in the same- Yeah. So that was Germany or Florida. We've had cleaner versions of that. But here's the thing. I think it's important. I'll put them on hold next time.
52:37 Drew Yeah, good idea.
52:38 Adam That's what we'll do next time we play Germany or Florida. But Lee Batten 1000 on Germany to Florida, by the way, two for two. Very solid. Oh yeah. My brother-in-law is German. It's a wacky breed over there.
52:51 Caller I tried to kill my mom and dad.
52:53 Adam I've, people, yeah, yeah, people have a problem with me when I say this sometimes, but are we done with Germany? I don't think we're done with them. I know I'm not. I mean, let's really just focus on what Germany was, did in a basically 20-year span, maybe 25 years. Focus on what, everyone just close their eyes and picture what Germany did. Are we done? We're done with them? Here's what, this is what we do. We stop you from trying to destroy the world in, you know, the early 20s and late teens, and then 16 years, 17 years later, we jump in and try to stop you from destroying the world again.
53:33 Caller Anyway, here's a few bucks.
53:34 Adam Go ahead and put the capital back together. What, we're going home now? That's it?
53:40 Caller How about a little, how about we just hit them?
53:42 Adam Let's hit Germany. Let's just bomb them. You know my plan, my plan is to bomb Germany, and Germany's gonna be like, oh my God, what are you doing? I don't even get this, we're just sitting here.
53:55 Caller We weren't doing anything, we didn't mean you any harm.
53:57 Adam We never did anything to you, and we're going, huh, that's funny. Funny, that's an interesting feeling.
54:01 Caller Think about that for a little bit.
54:03 Adam You guys were just hanging out, just trying to get along, and we just flew over and bombed ya.
54:10 Caller Wow, sit with that for just a little bit.
54:13 Adam Just a little bit. Wow, doesn't feel great now, does it? Doesn't feel too good. Wow, and by the way, you got another coming.
54:21 Caller I don't know when.
54:22 Adam Could be tomorrow, could be in 500 years, but you got one more coming your way. Tell your kids, I don't know, whatever you wanna do, however you wanna cope with that, you got one more. That's how we're doing it. And by the way, hey world, this is how it's gonna work from now on. You get out of line, we'll spank you. And listen, the more, there's no statue of limitations on it. Could be five million years later, we still owe Germany. Do we not owe Germany? Let's just round up several million Jews and commit some genocide. All right, but you guys are cool now. You make a hell of a car. We're cool. Everything's cool. That's a scant, that's a couple of years ago. I mean, that was a long time ago. I mean, in terms of the Earth's calendar, that was a million years ago, wasn't it, Drew?
55:05 Drew In terms of the geological time, of course.
55:07 Adam Oh, yeah, nothing. Yeah, just try to round up all the Jews and the gypsies and the Russians. That'd just kill everybody. We'll make big ovens. We'll take, we'll put them on a tray and we'll put them in an oven.
55:16 Caller That's great.
55:17 Adam You guys are cool now, though. We're cool. Everything's nice now. No, no, we gotta hit them.
55:22 Caller Let's hit them. Let's just hit them.
55:25 Adam Really?
55:26 Caller Shouldn't we?
55:27 Adam Some of those people are still alive. Let's just, no?
55:32 Caller It sounds like a good, you just sit home. Just do what I do.
55:35 Adam You just sit home, drink some wine and watch the History Channel.
55:38 Drew Take some mushrooms.
55:39 Adam Every night. Take some mushrooms, drink some wine, watch the History Channel and just watch all those trains pulling into the camps and then think, really good job.
55:47 Drew You stayed up all night last night watching History Channel with me. I did, but you know, I watch modern marvels.
55:53 Adam I watch industrial accidents, like bridges falling into lakes and stuff like that. But no, I don't feel like we're done with Germany. I don't...
56:02 Drew Can't you focus your attention on the guys that flew a plane into the buildings here?
56:07 Adam I like that. I like to get them, but they're a little more elusive.
56:09 Bow Wow Wow There's kind of like a lot of that going on over there already.
56:12 Adam They're more elusive over there.
56:14 Caller Germany, I know where they are.
56:16 Adam A little carpet bombing, that's all. And when they go, what? We go, yeah. Yeah, there you go.
56:22 Caller See?
56:23 Adam That's for fun. Carrie?
56:27 Caller Yeah?
56:31 Adam We're going to take over Poland and see if we can't grab Russia.
56:35 Caller Let's kill all the Jews while we're at it.
56:38 Bow Wow Wow Really?
56:39 Caller We're done? You guys are cool.
56:41 Adam All right, I'd say we're even now. We're even.
56:45 Bow Wow Wow Really?
56:46 Adam Even.
56:46 Bow Wow Wow We're even.
56:46 Adam Okay, fantastic. Carrie?
56:51 Carrie?
56:52 Adam Yeah. 22?
56:53 Mm-hmm.
56:54 Adam What's up?
56:56 Caller Well, I had a couple of questions. My first question was that I'm in a relationship with somebody. We've been together for about a year and four months and we're engaged. And sometimes when we have sex, he has a tendency to go limp. And I'm trying to figure out if that's normal for somebody of his age or is it...
57:18 Drew How old is he?
57:19 Adam Florida. This is Florida.
57:21 Drew How old is he?
57:22 Caller He's 41.
57:23 Drew How old are you?
57:24 Caller 22.
57:25 Drew Is he on medication? Wow.
57:27 Caller No, he's not on medication.
57:29 Drew Why is that funny? Because it's not normal for a 41-year-old. No, it's not normal.
57:36 Caller It's not. And I'm...
57:37 Drew A 41-year-old with diabetes or heavy tobacco history, maybe.
57:42 Caller Well, he's a chain smoker as far as cigarettes go.
57:45 Drew Well, that could be, because that's actually the first artery to go down, as it were, from tobacco. And if he really is a two-pack a day or something like that, is he?
57:55 Caller Well, he usually goes through about a pack and a half.
57:58 Drew Yeah, this could be related to... He could be getting vascular disease from tobacco.
58:02 Adam It'd be nice, like getting raped by a limp ashtray. It's going to be nice. Why are you with this guy?
58:13 Caller Why am I with him?
58:14 Adam Yeah.
58:15 Caller Well, I'm in love with him. That's one thing.
58:18 Drew Oh, of course. That explains everything, then.
58:20 Caller Well, no, it doesn't explain everything.
58:23 Adam Well, let me wait. Let's do a little scraping beneath the first layer of pain here. Carrie's a 22-year-old who sounds like she's been to hell and back. Seen a lot.
58:34 Drew Vietnam, Vietnam.
58:34 Adam You have an old voice. I mean, you sound like you.
58:38 Drew A little speed voice, too.
58:40 Adam Done through a lot. Yeah. Do any speed?
58:43 Caller Have I done any drugs? Well, yes. I used to be a pothead.
58:50 Adam Just pot. No speed, though.
58:53 Caller All right.
58:54 Adam And what are you doing right now? Are you working?
58:57 Caller Actually, I'm going to school right now.
59:01 Adam And what school are you going to?
59:03 Caller I'm going to I'm actually going to school to be to get certified as a groomer.
59:08 Adam Junior College.
59:09 Drew Junior College. Actually, it's just beneath right now. Right?
59:13 Adam Whenever whenever there's here. Let me explain something. We like to make fun of people go to Junior College on this show, at least I do. And Drew secretly does because he looks down his nose at them, the simpletons. I whenever you hear this like, oh, you're up in the Oregon area. Where are you going to school? Uh, well, right now I'm trying to get my certificate up. That's Junior College. Anytime you hear other than Oregon State, that's, that's, that's, uh, that's Junior College. Any words before the name of the college when you ask what college you're going to, that means Junior College. Well, uh, currently right now, uh, right in the middle of, about halfway through, Junior College.
59:48 Drew What was that last color saying? Remember that girl who had that crazy little, uh, half hour ago, she had that thing she said.
59:54 Adam Oh yeah, she had her refrain. Oh, pretty much.
59:58 Drew Pretty much. Well, pretty much.
1:00:00 Adam You're pretty much going to Junior College, but what, what went wrong in your life, Carrie? It sounds like something went wrong.
1:00:05 Caller How can you, I mean, how can you tell?
1:00:07 Adam I can hear it in your voice.
1:00:09 Drew Yeah.
1:00:09 Bow Wow Wow She did. She has the voice of a mileage babe.
1:00:11 Adam Yeah. Yeah. What happened? Mileage babe. That's a compliment. That's someone who's seasoned, someone who's been around, uh, who knows? No, someone who's not easily fooled or has the wool easily pulled over their eyes. Yes? That's correct. That's right.
1:00:29 Caller Um, no, I, I, I made a lot of bad choices as far as career wise back in the day. So I would say it made me grow up a lot faster than I really needed to.
1:00:40 Adam Publicist? Stripper?
1:00:45 Caller Well.
1:00:47 Adam That's a junior college answer. Prostitute?
1:00:51 Caller No.
1:00:53 Adam Little prostitution.
1:00:55 Caller No, none at all.
1:01:03 Caller No, not even that. Okay.
1:01:04 Adam Doing bachelor parties and that kind of thing?
1:01:06 Caller To that degree, yeah. To that degree, yes.
1:01:11 Adam To that degree, yes.
1:01:11 Drew To that degree, yes.
1:01:14 Adam To that degree, yes.
1:01:15 Drew To that degree, yes.
1:01:17 Adam To that degree, yes. To that degree, yes.
1:01:21 Caller To that degree, yes.
1:01:22 Adam To that degree, yes. To that degree, yes. To that degree, yes.
1:01:24 Caller To that degree, yes.
1:01:25 Drew To that degree, yes.
1:01:25 Adam To that degree, yes. To that degree, yes. To that degree, yes. To that degree, yes. To that degree, yes.
1:01:31 Caller To that degree, yes. To that degree, yes. To that degree, yes. To that degree, yes. To that degree, yes. To that degree, yes.
1:01:38 Adam To that degree, yes. Okay, so what happened in your life? A bad stepdad or something?
1:01:44 Caller No. There's a lot of bad relationships, a lot of really, really bad relationships.
1:01:52 Drew Alcoholic. Alcoholics.
1:01:54 Adam What, violent dad?
1:01:58 Caller Violence as far as physical and verbal.
1:02:02 Drew Yeah, and alcohol.
1:02:04 Adam Dad's an alcoholic?
1:02:06 Caller Is my dad an alcoholic?
1:02:11 Bow Wow Wow No.
1:02:11 Caller Neither one of my parents are. My parents are very educated.
1:02:14 Adam Just physically, just a smart guy who doesn't touch the booze is physically abusive?
1:02:20 Caller In my past, yes.
1:02:23 Adam Whatever. Drew's sucking the mic. All right, so here's the thing. Are we getting off the subject now? No, this is all the subject because, oh yeah, we gotta figure out what's going on with Carrie. And Carrie. Carrie's like in a fair amount of denial for someone who I can hear in her by the tone of her voice is at a horrible life filled with weird abuse and stuff. And now we don't trust this guy because you picked him.
1:02:47 Drew Right, and he's a 41 year old chain smoker who is, I guess a recovering, is he an addict also?
1:02:53 Caller No, he's never done drugs. I mean, we both drank, so that's about all we do.
1:03:00 Adam What's he do for a living?
1:03:02 Caller He's a trucker.
1:03:05 Drew Speed. There's where his fronds is going. He's doing speed too.
1:03:08 Adam All right, don't have any kids with this guy.
1:03:10 Drew Is he doing some speed when he works?
1:03:12 Caller No.
1:03:12 Drew All right, you better check that out because that may be why he's going soft. Now the cigarettes may be enough frankly, but I look into the speed. Carrie.
1:03:21 Caller Yeah.
1:03:22 Adam Baby doll, you're 22. I got your whole life ahead of you. Don't let this guy get you pregnant.
1:03:29 Drew Why not?
1:03:30 Adam Well, because he can't get a boner. He can't get a boner. And yeah, and when's you're planning on getting married?
1:03:38 Caller Well, it's, it's, it's.
1:03:39 Drew Right now.
1:03:40 Caller It's postponed, it's postponed because I'm a little, I got cold feet and I just wanna make sure everything is fine.
1:03:46 Adam Good, good now.
1:03:47 Drew No, keep the feet cold.
1:03:49 Adam Yeah, keep them in the pool. That's right, ice them down. Yeah, I don't trust this guy.
1:03:56 Caller You don't even know him, Fritz.
1:03:57 Adam I know him.
1:03:58 Drew We know you.
1:03:59 Adam I close my eyes, I see a plaid shirt and a pack of Koolz hanging out of his pocket and a limp penis in his pants. I know this guy. Believe me, I know this guy. I don't trust him either.
1:04:11 Caller He's standing outside now.
1:04:13 Adam Oh, wait there.
1:04:13 Bow Wow Wow Look, he's got the baseball bat in his hand, actually.
1:04:15 Adam I don't even know why I need to close my eyes. He's actually standing here holding a tire iron. All right, I knew what... Here's why. I know everybody, Annabelle is sitting there going, oh, you judge, you judge. How do you know, how do you know? Believe me, we know, I can hear her 22-year-old voice. That's a 22-year-old, sounds like a nurse from Vietnam. I mean, sounds like she's been to Hell and back. You start scratching beneath the surface a little bit, you find she's been to stripper, bachelor parties, physically abusive dad. I don't trust this guy.
1:04:46 Drew And she would be attracted to a guy that would be abusive or be something, something up with him.
1:04:51 Adam Ann has been in a bunch of other bad relationships, so she says too, and when she says bad, I think that means bad.
1:04:57 Drew Yeah, and it doesn't really want to really look at why the guy is having a rectal difficulty.
1:05:02 Adam Right.
1:05:02 Drew It's also kind of happening, maybe, kind of, but it's a big deal. They're going to get married and this is going on.
1:05:07 Adam 22, you don't need to get married at 22 anyway. That's the point. Amy. Yeah, I'm talking to Amy because... She's going to hold the longest. She's going to hold for 50 minutes. What's up?
1:05:21 Caller Okay, I have a five-year-old son and one of those absent father things and I'm wondering would it be better for him to just leave the dad out of the picture or try to keep hunting his dad down and try to keep in contact with him somehow so that when he does say, I want to see my dad, I can say, you know, where he is or...
1:05:40 Drew Well, Adam has a specific feeling about this and I'm not sure that I can give you direct, accurate kinds of guidance on this one, but Adam would say, cut him out completely and then tell the kid that he was shot down in a chopper over Iraq.
1:05:53 Caller Yeah, die to hero.
1:05:54 Drew Yeah.
1:05:55 Caller Last time I heard he lived in Upland...
1:05:56 Adam See that green beret sitting on the American flag over there? That's what they sent me. That's what they gave me. That's what I got in the mail. He died to hero.
1:06:03 Caller Should I turn him into a war hero?
1:06:05 Adam Turn him into a hero.
1:06:06 Drew And the amazing thing about these kids is that they will build these idealized renditions of dad and then cross crap on mom.
1:06:14 Adam Yeah, here's what you do. Here's what you say. He was in Honolulu for the Pro Bowl where he was starting his free safety for the NFC when he got a call, when he got the call up. And he knew he had to get back into the chopper. And that's when they took a stinger missile. He made sure all the rest of the crew bailed out, but he took the chopper into the side of the mountain. And that's where the bra and the flank folded like a triangle. That's where I got that. And the kid will be happy. He'll be walking around school bragging to all his friends. It'll be better than the disappointment that the guy ends up being.
1:06:46 Caller What do I do when the dad comes around for the holidays? Because he's one of those guys that comes in and out and thinks...
1:06:50 Adam Start screaming and fall to your knees and cry, Oh my God, you're back! And then slam the door.
1:06:58 Drew Start calling him uncle.
1:07:01 Caller He has a very good uncle.
1:07:04 Drew Your husband.
1:07:04 Caller Start calling. Well, he's an ex-husband, but he's one of those guys that thinks that he should have whatever he wants whenever he wants it. So he'll disappear for months, lose his phone number, and you know, I don't feel like I should have to call his girlfriend's parents to hunt him down every time.
1:07:21 Drew Can't you hide out from this guy?
1:07:23 Caller Well, I have the restraining order and all that.
1:07:25 Drew All right, then apply it. Get him out of there.
1:07:27 Adam And listen, all you wacko broads, stop getting knocked up by these idiots, please.
1:07:33 Caller I'm just concerned about how my son, you know.
1:07:35 Adam I am too, but why are you letting this guy get you pregnant? I understand what everyone's thinking.
1:07:41 Caller Unfortunately, I was married to the guy, but yeah.
1:07:45 Adam Why would you marry a jackass like this?
1:07:48 Caller Well, because I had the kid and I didn't want to raise him by myself. And then I realized I would raise a kid.
1:07:52 Adam Why would you have a kid?
1:07:55 Caller Because he was one of those controlling people that I couldn't get rid of. I got pregnant while I was trying to leave him. And when I said I don't want to be together anymore.
1:08:03 Adam I know.
1:08:04 Drew But you want to hear about her dad?
1:08:05 Adam No, I don't want to. But listen, your argument of why you're having kids with guys like this is I married him. And then, okay, why are you marrying a guy like this? Because I was pregnant. Wait a minute. It's one or the other, isn't it? Look, I know everyone's young and everyone's stupid and everyone had a horrible dad. But ladies, please stop letting these a-holes knock you up. You're destroying the planet. Really are. It's just you running around trying to find guys and get money from guys who won't give any money and a screwed up, confused, angry kid who's growing up with no father. And then that somehow will get seamlessly woven into society. It's not gonna work. Just stop it. And look, I blame the guys. The guys are horrible guys. But these guys are a dime a dozen. They're on every corner. Keep your legs closed. You can't let them get you pregnant. That's all. You can have your kicks with them. You can stay with your bad boys and have your young teenage fun. You just can't get pregnant. That's it.
1:09:02 Drew Okay, Pops.
1:09:03 Adam We'll work that out. Thank you. Bow Wow Wow in studio tonight. Either go.
1:09:08 Bow Wow Wow Go.
1:09:08 Adam So, find out, they got some concert dates coming up out here in Los Angeles especially and if you go to bowwowwow.org you can find out all those dates and all the information, maybe even buy a T-shirt. We'll take a quick...
1:09:22 Bow Wow Wow Please buy, please come see us.
1:09:25 Adam Please.
1:09:26 Bow Wow Wow Please, please. Come and have some fun.
1:09:31 Adam Take ourselves a little break and we'll be right back after this.
1:09:40 Caller 1-800-LOVE-191.
1:09:43 Caller Loveline is brought to you by Trojan, America's number one condom.
1:09:46 The most trusted for over 80 years.
1:09:48 Drew Cheers.
1:10:00 Adam I'm Adam. That's Dr. Drew, Anabella, and Lee are both here from Bow Wow Wow.
1:10:05 Drew Hello.
1:10:06 Adam As well as Adrian from No Doubt, and it's gonna be Drummin with Bow Wow Wow, coming up on the 14th and on the 15th, at the, one's at the House of Blues, and the other's at the House of Blues in Anna. Oh, wait a minute. Both at the House of Blues out here, 14th and 15th. Oh, no, wait. No, no, I got it. Hollywood Racetrack on the 14th. The House of Blues on the 15th, and I'm guessing that's the Sunset House of Blues. Yes.
1:10:35 Drew Would you call it the Hollywood Racetrack?
1:10:37 Adam Well, that's what it says.
1:10:38 Drew In Hollywood Park?
1:10:39 Bow Wow Wow Yeah.
1:10:39 Adam Yeah, I.
1:10:41 Bow Wow Wow As soon as the race is over, we're gonna play.
1:10:43 Adam Yeah, and Lauren, you gotta do a better job on this stuff. I would assume, I would assume that meant Hollywood Park, but I'm just gonna say what it says.
1:10:51 Drew They're saying Hollywood Park.
1:10:52 Adam All right, Hollywood Park. And then the 29th at Anaheim at the, well, it says here House of Jews. I'm just going along with that.
1:11:01 Drew You're saying everything that way now.
1:11:02 Adam I don't know what that is. Again, it could be another typo from Lauren. I mean, probably House of Blues. All right, also, oh, we're gonna hear something, a new No Doubt song.
1:11:13 Drew Let's do it now.
1:11:14 Adam Yeah?
1:11:15 Drew Yeah.
1:11:15 Adam They got a new, they're gonna have a Best Of released. Yes, Adrian?
1:11:18 Bow Wow Wow That's right. It comes out on the 25th of this month.
1:11:23 Adam I was listening to Adrian Drum on some No Doubt songs on my iPod tonight while I was skipping rope and I was thinking, hey, that's good drumming. You know, you really, you know, when you're driving in your car, you don't really hear the drumming like you do when you put the iPod on and you start doing some repetitive thing. You can actually focus in on it. Know what I'm saying? Skip that rope, listen to Adrian, bang them skins for No Doubt. And so wait, when's the new, when's the new Al Mount? I mean, I mean, this, this song we're going to hear now is going to be on The Best Of?
1:11:56 Bow Wow Wow That's correct.
1:11:57 Adam All right.
1:11:58 Drew And that's when?
1:11:59 Adam 25th.
1:11:59 Bow Wow Wow 25th.
1:12:00 Adam November. All right. It is called, you ready Anderson? Oh, Chris is ready? You're not Anderson? Oh dude. It's my life. There we go. Yep, No Doubt, everybody. And that Best Of is coming out on the 25th of November. Just in time for Christmas. No Doubt. I know I put a curse on the band many years ago, which they still owe me for. Because, yeah, I put a curse on No Doubt, and that's the reason for the success. Because when I- Because it came from you? When I curse something. Yeah, I'll tell you what. Like, I was sitting, right. I was sitting around about three weeks ago watching baseball, thinking I would just, I'd love to see Boston in this series. Oh, Boston, Chicago.
1:16:33 Drew I know, everybody wanted that.
1:16:35 Adam I would love to see, and they were both up like three, two at this point, and of course, that's why. You see, if I can focus on one thing, something, it's sort of like, it's like Buddhist, you know? They, it's like, but it's like a negative chant. If I focus on something, the opposite will happen. And I was kind enough to put a doubt, a curse on No Doubt. It had to be nine years ago. What was it? Was it not, Drew?
1:17:04 Bow Wow Wow What do you mean? What made you even think of putting a curse on us?
1:17:06 Adam We got into an argument with Tony and Gwen. I don't think, I don't know if I was arguing with you, but I was arguing with Tony and Gwen. Kind of. It was kind of, it was this horrible incident.
1:17:20 Bow Wow Wow I was there for that.
1:17:21 Caller Oh, you were there for that.
1:17:22 Bow Wow Wow Yeah, you were a complete jackass.
1:17:24 Caller No, I, well first, I dare you treat me this way after I put a curse on the man.
1:17:29 Bow Wow Wow No, this was absolute jackass, not kind of, just to be funny.
1:17:31 Caller How was I supposed to know Tony was going out with Gwen before, I didn't know.
1:17:36 Oh, yeah, but even if.
1:17:38 Adam But here's what happened, here's what happened. Now I'm telling you, it's not bad. You guys listen, and just listen.
1:17:43 Drew It's supposed to be a good story.
1:17:45 Adam That's a good story.
1:17:46 Drew All right.
1:17:46 Adam Okay, here's. It's one of those questions somebody called up and said, and said that they were talking about a mixed or interracial thing where this, once somebody was black and someone's white, or there was a mixture of races in a relationship. And then Gwen said, I used to go out with a guy who was something other than, you know, American or white. And I said, well, what was he? And she said, well, he's Indian. And I said, was it woo woo woo Indian or 7-Eleven Indian? I'm just making a joke. But I didn't know it was Tony who was sitting next to me. See, when you say I used to go out with a guy, you got to point at the guy. That's what I'm saying. Can't talk about him like he's not in the room. Yeah.
1:18:29 Bow Wow Wow Yeah, but that goes beyond him being in the room or not. Well, that just makes you look like I'm a white guy. And so I can just, you know, be smug ass.
1:18:40 Adam Oh, please. After I put a curse on the band, here's my thanks for that, by the way. It's a little, I know, because how many millions of records were sold from that time till now? Millions, millions. And I mean-
1:18:55 Drew Because of the curse.
1:18:56 Adam I'm not saying all to do with the curse, but you gotta figure 80, 90% of that is the curse. Drew, I'm telling you, I got people waiting in line for me to curse.
1:19:06 Drew Anything that curses goes double platinum.
1:19:08 Adam Sports franchises, automobile manufacturers, new upstart bands, they all went to Corolla Curse. I don't hand it out to easily. But here's the point, you see, as a radio guy who's supposed to infuse some body humor into the show, it was a four, it wasn't bad. It was offensive because the person was there. But I didn't know that, I didn't know Tony was the person. And again, Gwen talking about, I used to go out with a guy, you wouldn't think it's the guy that's sitting next to her. You see what I'm saying?
1:19:40 Bow Wow Wow That's a weak backpedal.
1:19:41 Drew This is the guy that's just talking about dropping bombs on Germany.
1:19:44 Caller I want to bomb Germany, you're with me on that one. Well, here's the thing.
1:19:48 Adam I would have made fun. That's American Indian. Well, that was Japanese at the end. I didn't know how it flowed into that. But the point is that I wouldn't have said that if I thought the guy was in the room. That's my point. But anyway, then the band got angry at me and they thought I was racist and wouldn't come back on the show. And that's when the curse came out. But again, huge dividends.
1:20:12 Drew What a good thing.
1:20:14 Adam How many albums has No Doubt sold in the last 10 years? What do you think?
1:20:19 Bow Wow Wow A little over 20.
1:20:22 Adam 20 million. 20 million.
1:20:24 Drew Is that worldwide?
1:20:25 Bow Wow Wow You're supposed to say, is that a lot?
1:20:27 Adam 20 million.
1:20:28 Drew Is that worldwide? No, that's a ton.
1:20:29 Bow Wow Wow That's worldwide.
1:20:30 Caller No, it's true.
1:20:31 Drew I'm just curious. That's a ton.
1:20:33 Caller 20 million is a lot.
1:20:34 Adam What do you mean? Oh, not worldwide?
1:20:36 Drew Well, no, listen. I know that if you sold 19 million here, you'd sell 250,000 in Canada. You know what I mean? Most of it must be here. All right.
1:20:44 Adam No, I don't. Please. I asked him how many albums sold. What do you think? So 70 million in Europe and not talking about it? Good point.
1:20:51 Bow Wow Wow All right.
1:20:52 Adam Please. It's deflating. Here's the point. I got to be responsible for 17 million of that?
1:21:00 Bow Wow Wow 17 records.
1:21:01 Drew You're being a little...
1:21:02 Adam 17 million. I think I'm being conservative because I'm modest. Now it's time to play... Time to play Germany or Florida. Anderson?
1:21:12 Drew No, no, no.
1:21:17 Adam Drew, what do you think he answered?
1:21:19 Drew He recorded it?
1:21:20 Caller I will by the end of the show.
1:21:21 Adam You got to put the thing together. All right. Let's talk to Chad who's 16. Chad?
1:21:26 Hey, hey, what's up, guys?
1:21:27 Adam What's up?
1:21:28 Before I say it, Adam, how come you never talk about your quill theory no more?
1:21:32 Adam My what theory?
1:21:33 Your crow theory?
1:21:34 Adam I was thinking about that today. I really was. All right. Now you're on hold. Let me tell you my idea. Attack crows. You could have your own. Do you know what I'm saying? This is a group of birds. Birds are smart. You can train birds pretty easily. This is just a group of five, six crows. They hang out with you. When you go in the building, they just sit on the edge of the building. Wait, when you leave the building, they just kind of circle around and they hang out. Any trouble? They swoop down and go after whoever's messing with you and the police department uses them. You know, when there's a guy, there's a hostage situation. There's a guy with a gun. He's out there. They're always trying to move in. They got these like robots and stuff like that. Uh-uh. Attack crows. You got the guys hold up.
1:22:20 Drew You got to talk about crows and how smart they are. People don't realize that.
1:22:23 Adam Crows are super smart and super mean. They would be perfect. They would do the job for free. I mean, we use dogs and stuff, right? What about the crows? You'd freak out by the way if you're trying to hold somebody hostage. A bunch of crows just came flying at your head.
1:22:36 Drew Their talons exposed.
1:22:39 Adam And making all that noise and everything. This is better than the heated sofa, Drew. Chad?
1:22:45 Bow Wow Wow Yeah.
1:22:46 Adam All right.
1:22:47 Bow Wow Wow Here we go.
1:22:47 Adam Appreciate you bringing up my tacros.
1:22:49 All right. Women in this area, they were sick of having their husbands walking with them when they were shopping. So they opened up like a little area in the shopping mall where they would send their men to go to while they shopped. They paid $10, around $10, you know? And they would get, the men would get two beers, a hot meal, and they would get to watch football on TV. And they also get to have races with remote control cars. And they have a drilling workshop.
1:23:21 Adam Oh, the workshop thing.
1:23:23 Drew Now, if you'd also throw in like porn, that would be Germany.
1:23:26 Adam Kind of porn. That would be Florida. This is too good an idea for Florida.
1:23:30 Bow Wow Wow He already gave it away because he said around $10.
1:23:36 Adam Yeah. But he said football, but that could be soccer.
1:23:39 Drew Yeah, yeah.
1:23:40 Adam But to me, what gave it, gave the German, we don't know yet, but he said there was a wood shop.
1:23:45 And the car was a drilling workshop.
1:23:47 Adam A drilling?
1:23:48 Drew Metal or wood?
1:23:50 It just says they also offer a drilling workshop.
1:23:53 Adam That's got to be.
1:23:54 Drew The translation got lost.
1:23:56 Adam Germany.
1:23:57 Caller Yeah, Germany.
1:23:59 Adam Thanks, Chad. All right. Hey, better luck next time on Germany or Florida, yeah?
1:24:04 Caller All right.
1:24:05 Adam We're sending out the home game in a windbreaker. Well, that's how you play What Anderson? Yeah, we're going to have Annabelle's version of that by this time next year. All right. Bow Wow Wow in studio tonight. Also Adrian here from No Doubt, new No Doubt CD, Best Of, coming out on the 25th of November. Go to bowwowwow.org if you want to find any information about dates or anything about the band and we'll be right back after this.
1:24:39 Caller Love Line.
1:24:40 Adam Love Line.
1:24:42 Caller Love Line on 94.7 NRK. Loveline, Loveline, on 947-N-R-K. Loveline, Loveline, Loveline, Loveline, Loveline, Loveline, Hey buddy, it's Loveline.
1:25:08 Adam I'm Adam. Lee and Anabella are both here tonight from Bow Wow Wow, along with Adrian from No Doubt, who's playing with Bow Wow Wow, out here in Southern California. And gonna be at the House of Blues on Sunset Strip on the 15th, and that's with Cheryl Crowe and a bunch of other people.
1:25:28 Bow Wow Wow Yeah, I have to add that it's a little impromptu thing, and probably most people that are going to this thing are expecting to see the legends, and I hear there are a few legends, but just to be open-minded and clear about that, we're like one of the impromptu acts.
1:25:46 Caller Really?
1:25:47 Adam Sure. Been around longer in that short row.
1:25:50 Bow Wow Wow There's some really good people appearing, and it's all for a good cause.
1:25:55 Adam And also on November 29th at the Anaheim House of Blues in the Hollywood Park Racetrack on November 14th. All right, let's get back to the phones and speak to Meredith, who's 18. Meredith? What's up?
1:26:16 Caller Well, okay. I had sex the other night and I'm pretty sure I came for the first time because I have never come before. And after we were done, like, I went to the bathroom or whatever and I was like, oh, something feels kind of funny. And I looked at my like, my pussy lips, I guess. I don't know if I'll want to see that.
1:26:37 Adam Are you pre-med, Meredith?
1:26:39 Bow Wow Wow She looked at her cat? I never saw a cat with lips, they're very thin.
1:26:49 Adam Yeah.
1:26:49 Bow Wow Wow I didn't say, I didn't notice any money.
1:26:53 Caller I looked at them and like, the inner ones were like swollen so that they were out of the outer ones. And I don't have like a droopy, like vagina or anything. And so they were swollen.
1:27:07 Caller And I don't know, it just looked weird and I don't know if that's normal.
1:27:12 Drew That's from irritation.
1:27:14 Caller It wasn't irritated, it didn't hurt at all. They kind of felt like little, they felt like squishy sort of.
1:27:21 Drew Well, they're just, they're inflamed. I mean, you get blood supply, blood engorgement down there just the way guys get engorgement of their genitalia.
1:27:31 Adam I smell junior college.
1:27:33 Caller Meredith, junior college?
1:27:35 Caller I'm going to vocational school right now. To be a medical assistant, but that's the-
1:27:41 Adam People in junior college make fun of the people in vocational school, you know that?
1:27:45 Caller No, but that's just so I can pay my way through the rest of my college years.
1:27:49 Adam Oh yeah. But listen, I, look, I'm all for it. Just learn a trade and do it. You wanna be a medical technician?
1:27:56 Caller No, I'm gonna be a doctor.
1:28:02 Adam Really?
1:28:02 Caller Uh-huh.
1:28:03 Adam I gotta move, you're out in California, right? Uh, hold on a second. Now look, everyone gets mad at me. I have my friend John, everyone got mad. My friend John, who went to junior college for 19 years and is now looking for a job working with me at my house, by the way, announced he was gonna be a doctor about eight years ago and everyone applauded. And I said, are you guys high? This is just another six years of junior college. Before he quits and I was like, oh, please, Adam, how dare you? He wants to be a doctor. People should aspire to things. But here's the thing. You gotta know, man's gotta know your limitations. All I'm saying is, is if Meredith is in vocational school right now, probably barely got out of high school, shouldn't you shoot for a doctor? She's gonna slow herself down. Meredith, what kind of grades did you get in high school?
1:28:57 Caller I got pretty good grades. I had honors classes and stuff.
1:29:01 Adam Why didn't you go to college? Why didn't you go to university?
1:29:04 Caller Our family didn't have enough money to put me through college right away because our finances went downhill when the stock market went down.
1:29:12 Adam Well, you had stocks. We get student loans and get a part-time job, and you go off to college like everyone else.
1:29:19 Caller Oh, I don't know. I wanted more experience in the medical field, like while I went through school.
1:29:27 Adam All right. So what university are you going to go to?
1:29:30 Caller USC.
1:29:31 Adam I'm going to be there tomorrow, actually.
1:29:33 Drew That's a pretty expensive school. Do you have funds for that?
1:29:39 Caller I will. I don't know.
1:29:40 Caller I'll think of it somehow.
1:29:43 Adam I say, well, what's the over-under on her becoming a doctor? 28 years from today? What's that plan? Why don't you say you're going to be an astronaut? I mean, really, really, really. I know. I know I sound like a prick. I'm just saying, it's not going to be a doctor.
1:29:59 Drew Here's what she has to do. What she has to do? She has to get her butt into a university, either probably by doing a fifth pathway through junior college. She has to get A's in the science classes in university.
1:30:12 Adam What about vocational school?
1:30:13 Drew And if she does that and take out the loans that are necessary to get that pulled off, and if she does that, then she's thinking realistically. If she doesn't, she has to reconsider her path.
1:30:23 Adam It's funny that she doesn't have any money, but once they go to USC, which is like the most expensive private school in America.
1:30:27 Drew That's what I said. And then I asked her how she was going to do that. I'll dream up a way. Dream is the key word here.
1:30:33 Adam Let's just hope you're not on some gurney clinging to life and rolling into a Meredith's operating room. That's all I'm saying. Elise? Is that Elise?
1:30:43 Drew Yeah, Elise.
1:30:45 Adam Hey. What's up, baby doll? You're 20.
1:30:48 Caller Yeah, I am. I'm just calling because I want kind of, I guess, an objective opinion as to whether or not I'm a functional human being right now. A lot of people tend to think that I have an eating disorder and that I kind of act out and I'm a little out of control.
1:31:10 Adam You should always believe people when they say that.
1:31:14 Drew Yeah, people don't say stuff like that unless there's a reason for it.
1:31:17 Adam Usually.
1:31:18 Drew Well, again, what's in it for them? Why would they come up to you and say, hey, whoa, cut it out, relax?
1:31:23 Caller Well, I used to be really, really low key and I think it's just kind of a contrast. I don't know.
1:31:29 Adam Well, let's see. Do you throw up?
1:31:34 Caller I have before.
1:31:37 Adam I've thrown up 500 times.
1:31:39 Drew Do you think you're fat?
1:31:40 Caller Sometimes I do.
1:31:43 Drew Okay, that's an eating disorder.
1:31:45 Adam I bet you could be fat.
1:31:46 Caller Honestly, though, I could.
1:31:48 Caller You know, I probably could lose 10 pounds and still be healthy.
1:31:52 Drew How much do you weigh?
1:31:54 Caller About 124 pounds.
1:31:56 Drew How tall are you?
1:31:57 Caller About 5'8.
1:31:59 Adam That's light.
1:32:01 Drew And you're vomiting. That's an eating disorder.
1:32:03 Adam Well, how often has she said she has vomited?
1:32:06 Drew You've caused yourself to vomit.
1:32:07 Caller I've only done that half a dozen times in my life.
1:32:12 Caller I mean, I more so just go to the gym.
1:32:14 Bow Wow Wow From drinking? Right. But not drinking at the same time.
1:32:20 Caller Drinking. No, no.
1:32:21 Adam You can't count the booze vomits.
1:32:23 Bow Wow Wow Because I've done that, but every time I've done it, it's because I was drunk.
1:32:27 Adam Yeah, right. You want to go to bed.
1:32:29 Drew What are the other behaviors?
1:32:31 Caller In the past, I've just, I don't know, I guess I have been addicted to random things.
1:32:38 Caller In the past, I've smoked.
1:32:40 Caller I used to cut myself.
1:32:41 Caller I used to sweep around a lot.
1:32:44 Drew Okay, well, why don't you want to do something about this?
1:32:48 Caller Because I feel like it's under control.
1:32:51 Adam All right, well, then we're good. If she's under control, she's under control.
1:32:56 Drew Yeah, those are very, very serious behaviors that suggest real serious psychological problems.
1:33:03 Adam Yeah, but she feels under, I mean, look, when someone is 20 and like all my friends that did a bunch of drugs when they were 20, we were trying to tell them not to do the drugs, and they listen if they live when they're like 33.
1:33:18 Drew If they live to 33.
1:33:19 Adam Yeah, as I said, if they live, right. And all the people that did everything, just you don't do anything at 20, especially when you're in denial. I mean, even if you throw yourself sort of on the mercy of society of 20 and say, please help me, please guide me, even then it's tough. Elise, Elise, Elise, whatever her name is, is clearly no position emotionally to do anything. So write it out and it will get really bad in five years and then you do something.
1:33:45 Bow Wow Wow There you go.
1:33:46 Adam All right, we'll be back.
1:33:48 Bow Wow Wow All right, guys, here's the deal.
1:33:49 Caller Looking to hook up? Call the Dateline.
1:33:51 Caller Sick of wasting time with the wrong person?
1:33:53 Caller Call the Dateline. One call is all you need to make. Call the Dateline. 1-877-889-DATE.
1:34:03 Caller Adam and Dr. Drew will be right back on Loveline. Loveline on 947NRK is brought to you by Car Toys.
1:34:31 Adam Well, that's the show, everybody. Jack Black's gonna be in here tomorrow night. I wanna thank Anabella and Lee and Adrian for all coming in. Bow Wow Wow is what you gotta look out for. bowwowwow.org is where you can find all the dates, all the information, everything you need to know about the band. And the new No Doubt, Best Of CD, with at least one new cut, is gonna be on it. And it's coming out November 25th. Good times. Good times. So until next time, it's Adam Carolla for Dr. Drew, saying mahalo.
1:35:15 Caller This has been Loveline. The opinions expressed on this show are not necessarily those of the staff, management, sponsors, or this station. The producer for Loveline is Annie Gold. Loveline is a presentation of Westwood One Entertainment.
