So when you get online, it offers availability and anonymity, which makes it a perfect vehicle for adult entertainment.

7:07 Adam I'm trying to talk brass here. So in 95, you started the website. And like any good story, just a couple of grand and some hard work. But it didn't take more than a year or two before it really got going, did it?

7:23 Danni Ashe It actually, it happened almost immediately. I'd been spending some time in the newsgroups. And at the time, the Internet was so anti-commercial. And it was really kind of in its purest form, where the communication was clear and everybody was really, you know, actively engaged with each other. There was no spam. There was no, there was no commercialism. So the fact that I was in the newsgroups when there were so few women online was the word was just spreading like wildfire. And everybody knew I was building a website. So by the time I launched the site, it was, it was like an overnight success. So I was getting close to a million hits a day in the first month.

7:57 Adam But was it just you modeling on the original site?

8:00 Danni Ashe It was mostly just me. It was kind of an extension of my own fan club. And I started building pages for other models that I knew who are friends of mine, girls I'd worked with.

49:29 Danni Ashe Most of our revenues come from subscriptions, which is you would have a credit card and you can buy a subscription that will renew every month at 1995.

49:39 Danni Ashe I actually don't sell advertising. I find Internet advertising to be pretty annoying, so I've decided not to do it. I'm a little more focused on creating a destination, a place that people will visit again and again and tell their friends about. So I just made a decision not to sell advertising.

49:54 Danni Ashe Close to 30,000. Which is actually a small number when you think about how many people actually visit the site, which is just the conversion rates are very, very low on the Internet right now for a lot of reasons, but we still manage to be profitable.

50:10 Adam How do they visit the site and you don't get paid? How does that work?

50:15 Danni Ashe Well, there are lots of areas on the site that are available for free. The picture of the week, you can get the joke of the week, you can get the model of the day.

50:23 Adam Now, why do you give that out for free?

50:26 Danni Ashe I give it out to create a place that people will want to visit again and again and want to tell their friends about and it's really trying to create a destination.

50:34 Adam Right. So, they give you the credit card to take the $19.95 out each month and hopefully they forgot, forget about it, right?

And it was very difficult to explain to her that I had nothing to do with those websites, that they had just put my name in their keywords. Yeah.

54:04 Adam And your dad, does he care? Is he alive?

54:07 Danni Ashe He's, he always seems, he doesn't really talk to me about it. My mom's the one that talks to me about it.

You know, the abuse really started when I was about six months pregnant with our first child. That's when it all sort of picked up.

1:32:26 Caller Well, you know, we split up and then like the very, the next time, I swear to God, like the first time we were together after that, I was like, damn, I was, because I had been on birth control.

1:32:36 Adam All right. All right. I just I always wish these people would have girls so we'd have more porn stars and less felons. Now we've got a couple of guys with the abusive dad, who these guys are going to end up being criminals. So what are we going to do about this?

He is the way that it feels to me, is that I've been his excuse for everything, for his depression, for him being overweight, for him having a miserable childhood, for the way he treats our kids. My oldest one especially, he's four.

1:33:32 Caller Yes, I tried to, you know, I got in this big nasty fight with the neighbors and CPS got involved. And so, what I'm trying, what I'm hoping is that, you know, he really wants the voice, especially right now while I'm so sick. I mean, I'm having such a hard time. And so, I agreed to let him keep the voice, you know, if CPS would stay involved and help him because, you know, before this split up, we were getting counseling, we were getting parenting classes, you know, things to really help us. And things were, you know, kind of progressing, but he's still so over-controlling.
